1ALÉGRATE, oh estéril, la que no paría; levanta canción, y da voces de júbilo, la que nunca estuvo de parto: porque más son los hijos de la dejada que los de la casada, ha dicho Jehová. 2Ensancha el sitio de tu cabaña, y las cortinas de tus tiendas sean extendidas; no seas escasa; alarga tus cuerdas, y fortifica tus estacas. 3Porque á la mano derecha y á la mano izquierda has de crecer; y tu simiente heredará gentes, y habitarán las ciudades asoladas. 4No temas, que no serás avergonzada; y no te avergüences, que no serás afrentada: antes, te olvidarás de la vergüenza de tu mocedad, y de la afrenta de tu viudez no tendrás más memoria. 5Porque tu marido es tu Hacedor; Jehová de los ejércitos es su nombre: y tu redentor, el Santo de Israel; Dios de toda la tierra será llamado. 6Porque como á mujer dejada y triste de espíritu te llamó Jehová, y como á mujer moza que es repudiada, dijo el Dios tuyo. 7Por un pequeño momento te dejé; mas te recogeré con grandes misericordias. 8Con un poco de ira escondí mi rostro de ti por un momento; mas con misericordia eterna tendré compasión de ti, dijo tu Redentor Jehová. 9Porque esto me será como las aguas de Noé; que juré que nunca más las aguas de Noé pasarían sobre la tierra; así he jurado que no me enojaré contra ti, ni te reñiré. 10Porque los montes se moverán, y los collados temblarán; mas no se apartará de ti mi misericordia, ni el pacto de mi paz vacilará, dijo Jehová, el que tiene misericordia de ti. 11Pobrecita, fatigada con tempestad, sin consuelo; he aquí que yo cimentaré tus piedras sobre carbunclo, y sobre zafiros te fundaré. 12Tus ventanas pondré de piedras preciosas, tus puertas de piedras de carbunclo, y todo tu término de piedras de buen gusto. 13Y todos tus hijos serán enseñados de Jehová; y multiplicará la paz de tus hijos. 14Con justicia serás adornada; estarás lejos de opresión, porque no temerás; y de temor, porque no se acercará á ti. 15Si alguno conspirare contra ti, será sin mí: el que contra ti conspirare, delante de ti caerá. 16He aquí que yo crié al herrero que sopla las ascuas en el fuego, y que saca la herramienta para su obra; y yo he criado al destruidor para destruir. 17Toda herramienta que fuere fabricada contra ti, no prosperará; y tú condenarás toda lengua que se levantare contra ti en juicio. Esta es la heredad de los siervos de Jehová, y su justicia de por mí, dijo Jehová.
1“Sing, barren, you who didn’t bear; break out into singing, and cry aloud, you who did not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife,” says Yahweh. 2“Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your habitations; don’t spare: lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. 3For you shall spread out on the right hand and on the left; and your seed shall possess the nations, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited. 4“Don’t be afraid; for you shall not be ashamed: neither be confounded; for you shall not be disappointed: for you shall forget the shame of your youth; and the reproach of your widowhood you shall remember no more. 5For your Maker is your husband; Yahweh of Armies is his name: and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; the God of the whole earth shall he be called. 6For Yahweh has called you as a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, even a wife of youth, when she is cast off,” says your God. 7“For a small moment have I forsaken you; but with great mercies will I gather you. 8In overflowing wrath I hid my face from you for a moment; but with everlasting loving kindness will I have mercy on you,” says Yahweh your Redeemer. 9“For this is like the waters of Noah to me; for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah shall no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I will not be angry with you, nor rebuke you. 10For the mountains may depart, and the hills be removed; but my loving kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall my covenant of peace be removed,” says Yahweh who has mercy on you. 11“You afflicted, tossed with storms, and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in beautiful colors, and lay your foundations with sapphires. 12I will make your pinnacles of rubies, and your gates of sparkling jewels, and all your walls of precious stones. 13All your children shall be taught of Yahweh; and great shall be the peace of your children. 14In righteousness you shall be established: you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not be afraid; and from terror, for it shall not come near you. 15Behold, they may gather together, but not by me: whoever shall gather together against you shall fall because of you. 16“Behold, I have created the smith who blows the fire of coals, and brings out a weapon for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. 17No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of Yahweh, and their righteousness which is of me,” says Yahweh.
1Zing vrolijk, gij onvruchtbare, die niet gebaard hebt! maak geschal met vrolijk gezang, en juich, die geen barensnood gehad hebt! want de kinderen der eenzame zijn meer, dan de kinderen der getrouwde, zegt de HEERE. 2Maak de plaats uwer tenten wijd, en dat men de gordijnen uwer woningen uitbreide, verhinder het niet; maak uw koorden lang, en steek uw pinnen vast in. 3Want gij zult uitbreken ter rechterhand en ter linkerhand; en uw zaad zal de heidenen erven, en zij zullen de verwoeste steden doen bewonen. 4Vrees niet, want gij zult niet beschaamd worden, en word niet schaamrood, want gij zult niet te schande worden; maar gij zult de schaamte uwer jonkheid vergeten, en den smaad uws weduwschaps zult gij niet meer gedenken. 5Want uw Maker is uw Man, HEERE der heirscharen is Zijn Naam; en de Heilige Israels is uw Verlosser; Hij zal de God des gansen aardbodems genaamd worden. 6Want de HEERE heeft u geroepen, als een verlaten vrouw en bedroefde van geest; nochtans zijt gij de huisvrouw der jeugd, hoewel gij versmaad zijt geweest, zegt uw God. 7Voor een klein ogenblik heb Ik u verlaten; maar met grote ontfermingen zal Ik u vergaderen. 8In een kleinen toorn heb Ik Mijn aangezicht van u een ogenblik verborgen; maar met eeuwige goedertierenheid zal Ik Mij uwer ontfermen, zegt de HEERE, uw Verlosser. 9Want dat zal Mij zijn als de wateren van Noach, toen Ik zwoer, dat de wateren van Noach niet meer over de aarde zouden gaan; alzo heb Ik gezworen, dat Ik niet meer op u toornen, noch u schelden zal. 10Want bergen zullen wijken, en heuvelen wankelen; maar Mijn goedertierenheid zal van u niet wijken, en het verbond Mijns vredes zal niet wankelen, zegt de HEERE, uw Ontfermer. 11Gij verdrukte, door onweder voortgedrevene, ongetrooste! zie, Ik zal uw stenen gans sierlijk leggen, en Ik zal u op saffieren grondvesten. 12En uw glasvensters zal Ik kristallijnen maken, en uw poorten van robijnstenen, en uw ganse landpale van aangename stenen. 13En al uw kinderen zullen van den HEERE geleerd zijn, en de vrede uwer kinderen zal groot zijn. 14Gij zult door gerechtigheid bevestigd worden; wees verre van verdrukking, want gij zult niet vrezen; en verre van verschrikking, want zij zal tot u niet naken. 15Ziet, zij zullen zich zekerlijk vergaderen, doch niet uit Mij; wie zich tegen u vergaderen zal, die zal om uwentwil vallen. 16Zie, Ik heb den smid geschapen, die de kolen in het vuur opblaast, en die het instrument voortbrengt tot zijn werk; ook heb Ik den verderver geschapen, om te vernielen. 17Alle instrument, dat tegen u bereid wordt, zal niet gelukken, en alle tong, die in gericht tegen u opstaat, zult gij verdoemen; dit is de erve der knechten des HEEREN, en hun gerechtigheid is uit Mij, spreekt de HEERE.
