1Ne oferbuĉu al la Eternulo, via Dio, bovon aŭ ŝafon, kiu havas sur si difekton, kian ajn malbonaĵon; ĉar tio estas abomenaĵo por la Eternulo, via Dio. 2Se troviĝos inter vi en iu el viaj urboj, kiujn la Eternulo, via Dio, donas al vi, viro aŭ virino, kiu faras malbonon antaŭ la Eternulo, via Dio, malobeante Lian interligon; 3kaj li iros kaj servos al aliaj dioj, kaj adorkliniĝos antaŭ ili aŭ antaŭ la suno aŭ antaŭ la luno aŭ antaŭ la tuta armeo de la ĉielo, kion mi ne ordonis; 4kaj estos dirite al vi, kaj vi aŭdos kaj bone esploros, kaj montriĝos, ke la afero estas preciza vero, ke tiu abomenaĵo estas farita en Izrael: 5tiam elkonduku tiun viron aŭ tiun virinon, kiuj faris tiun malbonan aferon, al via pordego, la viron aŭ la virinon, kaj ĵetu sur ilin ŝtonojn, ke ili mortu. 6Laŭ la akuzo de du atestantoj aŭ tri atestantoj la mortigoto estu ekzekutita; li ne estu mortigita laŭ la akuzo de unu atestanto. 7La mano de la atestantoj estu sur li plej antaŭe, por mortigi lin, kaj la mano de la tuta popolo poste; tiel ekstermu la malbonon el inter vi. 8Se estos por vi tro malfacila ia juĝa afero inter sango kaj sango, inter proceso kaj proceso, inter frapo kaj frapo, en disputaj aferoj en via urbo: tiam leviĝu, kaj iru al la loko, kiun elektos la Eternulo, via Dio; 9kaj venu al la pastroj Levidoj, kaj al la juĝisto, kiu estos en tiu tempo, kaj demandu, kaj ili diros al vi la juĝan decidon. 10Kaj agu laŭ la vorto, kiun ili diros al vi de tiu loko, kiun la Eternulo elektos; kaj observu, ke vi faru ĉion, kion ili instruos al vi. 11Laŭ la instruo, kiun ili donos al vi, kaj laŭ la decido, kiun ili diros al vi, agu; de tio, kion ili diros al vi, ne dekliniĝu dekstren nek maldekstren. 12Kiu agos arogante, kaj ne obeos la pastron, kiu staras tie, por servi al la Eternulo, via Dio, aŭ la juĝiston, tiu homo devas morti; kaj vi ekstermos la malbonon el Izrael. 13Kaj la tuta popolo aŭdos kaj ektimos, kaj ili ne plu agos arogante. 14Kiam vi venos en la landon, kiun la Eternulo, via Dio, donas al vi, kaj vi ekposedos ĝin kaj ekloĝos en ĝi, kaj diros: Mi starigos super mi reĝon, kiel ĉiuj popoloj ĉirkaŭ mi: 15tiam starigu super vi reĝon, kiun elektos la Eternulo, via Dio; el inter viaj fratoj starigu super vi reĝon; vi ne povas starigi super vi homon aligentan, kiu ne estas via frato. 16Sed li ne multigu al si ĉevalojn, kaj li ne revenigu la popolon en Egiptujon, por multigi ĉevalojn; la Eternulo diris al vi: Ne iru plu returne laŭ tiu vojo. 17Kaj li ne multigu al si edzinojn, por ke ne dekliniĝu lia koro; kaj arĝenton kaj oron li ne tro multigu al si. 18Sed kiam li sidiĝos sur la trono de sia regno, li transskribu al si kopion de ĉi tiu instruo en libron laŭ tio, kio troviĝas ĉe la pastroj Levidoj; 19kaj ĝi estu ĉe li, kaj li legadu en ĝi dum sia tuta vivo, por ke li lernu timi la Eternulon, sian Dion, observante ĉiujn vortojn de ĉi tiu instruo kaj ĉi tiujn leĝojn, por plenumi ilin; 20por ke ne altiĝu lia koro super liaj fratoj kaj por ke li ne dekliniĝu de la ordono dekstren nek maldekstren, por ke li restu longe en sia reĝeco, li kaj liaj filoj, inter Izrael.

1You shall not sacrifice to Yahweh your God an ox, or a sheep, in which is a defect, or anything evil; for that is an abomination to Yahweh your God. 2If there is found in your midst, within any of your gates which Yahweh your God gives you, a man or woman who does that which is evil in the sight of Yahweh your God, in transgressing his covenant, 3and has gone and served other gods, and worshiped them, or the sun, or the moon, or any of the stars of the sky, which I have not commanded; 4and you are told, and you have heard of it, then you shall inquire diligently. Behold, if it is true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is done in Israel, 5then you shall bring out that man or that woman, who has done this evil thing, to your gates, even that same man or woman; and you shall stone them to death with stones. 6At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, he who is to die shall be put to death. At the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death. 7The hand of the witnesses shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. So you shall remove the evil from your midst. 8If there arises a matter too hard for you in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within your gates; then you shall arise, and go up to the place which Yahweh your God chooses. 9You shall come to the priests who are Levites, and to the judge who shall be in those days. You shall inquire, and they shall give you the verdict. 10You shall do according to the decisions of the verdict which they shall give you from that place which Yahweh chooses. You shall observe to do according to all that they shall teach you: 11according to the decisions of the law which they shall teach you, and according to the judgment which they shall tell you, you shall do. You shall not turn aside from the sentence which they shall show you, to the right hand, nor to the left. 12The man who does presumptuously, in not listening to the priest who stands to minister there before Yahweh your God, or to the judge, even that man shall die. You shall put away the evil from Israel. 13All the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously. 14When you have come to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, and possess it, and dwell in it, and say, “I will set a king over me, like all the nations that are around me”; 15you shall surely set him king over yourselves, whom Yahweh your God chooses. You shall set as king over you one from among your brothers. You may not put a foreigner over you, who is not your brother. 16Only he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he may multiply horses; because Yahweh has said to you, “You shall not go back that way again.” 17He shall not multiply wives to himself, that his heart not turn away. He shall not greatly multiply to himself silver and gold. 18It shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write himself a copy of this law in a book, out of that which is before the priests the Levites. 19It shall be with him, and he shall read from it all the days of his life; that he may learn to fear Yahweh his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them; 20that his heart not be lifted up above his brothers, and that he not turn aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left; to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children, in the midst of Israel.

1Gij zult den HEERE, uw God, geen os of klein vee offeren, waaraan een gebrek zij of enig kwaad; want dat is den HEERE, uw God, een gruwel. 2Wanneer in het midden van u, in een uwer poorten, die de HEERE, uw God, u geeft, een man of vrouw gevonden zal worden, die doen zal, dat kwaad is in de ogen des HEEREN, uws Gods, overtredende Zijn verbond; 3Dat hij heengaat, en dient andere goden, en buigt zich voor die, of voor de zon, of voor de maan, of voor het ganse heir des hemels, hetwelk ik niet geboden heb; 4En het wordt u aangezegd, en gij hoort het; zo zult gij het wel onderzoeken; en ziet, het is de waarheid, de zaak is zeker, zulk een gruwel is in Israel gedaan; 5Zo zult gij dien man of die vrouw, die ditzelve boze stuk gedaan hebben, tot uw poorten uitbrengen, dien man zeg ik, of die vrouw; en gij zult hen met stenen stenigen, dat zij sterven. 6Op den mond van twee getuigen, of drie getuigen, zal hij gedood worden, die sterven zal; op den mond van een enigen getuige zal hij niet gedood worden. 7De hand der getuigen zal eerst tegen hem zijn, om hem te doden, en daarna de hand des gansen volks; zo zult gij het boze uit het midden van u wegdoen. 8Wanneer een zaak aan het gericht voor u te zwaar zal zijn, tussen bloed en bloed, tussen rechtshandel en rechtshandel, tussen plage en plage, zijnde twistzaken in uw poorten, zo zult gij u opmaken, en opgaan naar de plaats, die de HEERE, uw God, verkiezen zal; 9En gij zult komen tot de Levietische priesters, en tot den rechter, die in die dagen zijn zal; en gij zult ondervragen, en zij zullen u de zaak des rechts aanzeggen. 10En gij zult doen naar de mond des woords, dat zij u zullen aanzeggen, van diezelve plaats, die de HEERE verkiezen zal, en gij zult waarnemen te doen naar alles, wat zij u zullen leren. 11Naar de mond der wet, die zij u zullen leren, en naar het oordeel, dat zij u zullen zeggen, zult gij doen; gij zult niet afwijken van het woord, dat zij u zullen aanzeggen, ter rechterhand of ter linkerhand. 12De man nu, die trotselijk handelen zal, dat hij niet hore naar den priester, dewelke staat, om aldaar den HEERE, uw God, te dienen, of naar den rechter, dezelve man zal sterven; en gij zult het boze uit Israel wegdoen. 13Dat het al dat volk hore en vreze, en niet meer trotselijk handele. 14Wanneer gij zult gekomen zijn in het land, dat u de HEERE, uw God, geeft, en gij dat erfelijk zult bezitten en daarin wonen, en gij zeggen zult: Ik zal een koning over mij stellen, als al de volken, die rondom mij zijn; 15Zo zult gij ganselijk tot koning over u stellen, dien de HEERE, uw God, verkiezen zal; uit het midden uwer broederen zult gij een koning over u stellen; gij zult niet vermogen over u te zetten een vreemden man, die uw broeder niet zij. 16Maar hij zal voor zich de paarden niet vermenigvuldigen, en het volk niet doen wederkeren naar Egypte, om paarden te vermenigvuldigen; terwijl de HEERE ulieden gezegd heeft: Gij zult voortaan niet wederkeren door dezen weg. 17Ook zal hij voor zich de vrouwen niet vermenigvuldigen, opdat zijn hart niet afwijke; hij zal ook voor zich geen zilver en goud zeer vermenigvuldigen. 18Voorts zal het geschieden, als hij op den stoel zijns koninkrijks zal zitten, zo zal hij zich een dubbel van deze wet afschrijven in een boek, uit hetgeen voor het aangezicht der Levietische priesteren is; 19En het zal bij hem zijn, en hij zal daarin lezen al de dagen zijns levens; opdat hij den HEERE, zijn God, lere vrezen, om te bewaren al de woorden dezer wet en deze inzettingen, om die te doen; 20Dat zijn hart zich niet verheffe boven zijn broederen, en dat hij niet afwijke van het gebod, ter rechterhand of ter linkerhand; opdat hij de dagen verlenge in zijn koninkrijk, hij en zijn zonen, in het midden van Israel.
