1Se aperos inter vi profeto aŭ sonĝisto kaj prezentos al vi signon aŭ miraklon, 2kaj plenumiĝos la signo aŭ miraklo, pri kiu li parolis al vi, kaj li diros: Ni sekvu aliajn diojn, kiujn vi ne konas, kaj ni servu al ili: 3tiam ne aŭskultu la vortojn de tiu profeto aŭ de tiu sonĝisto, ĉar tiam elprovas vin la Eternulo, via Dio, por sciiĝi, ĉu vi amas la Eternulon, vian Dion, per via tuta koro kaj per via tuta animo. 4La Eternulon, vian Dion, sekvu, kaj Lin timu, kaj Liajn ordonojn observu, kaj Lian voĉon aŭskultu, kaj al Li servu, kaj al Li alteniĝu. 5Kaj tiun profeton aŭ tiun sonĝiston oni devas mortigi; ĉar li predikis defalon de la Eternulo, via Dio, kiu elkondukis vin el la lando Egipta kaj liberigis vin el la domo de sklaveco-por delogi vin de la vojo, laŭ kiu la Eternulo, via Dio, ordonis al vi iri; kaj ekstermu la malbonon el inter vi. 6Se logos vin sekrete via frato, filo de via patrino, aŭ via filo, aŭ via filino, aŭ la edzino en viaj brakoj, aŭ via amiko plej intima, dirante: Ni iru kaj servu al aliaj dioj, kiujn ne konis vi nek viaj patroj, 7el la dioj de la popoloj, kiuj estas ĉirkaŭ vi, la proksimaj de vi aŭ la malproksimaj de vi, de unu fino de la lando ĝis la alia: 8tiam ne konsentu kun li kaj ne aŭskultu lin; ne indulgu lin via okulo, ne kompatu kaj ne kaŝu lin, 9sed mortigu lin; via mano devas esti sur li la unua, por mortigi lin, kaj la manoj de la tuta popolo poste. 10Kaj ĵetu sur lin ŝtonojn, ke li mortu; ĉar li volis forlogi vin de la Eternulo, via Dio, kiu elkondukis vin el la lando Egipta, el la domo de sklaveco. 11Kaj la tuta Izrael tion aŭdos kaj ektimos, kaj oni ne plu faros tian malbonan agon inter vi. 12Se vi aŭdos pri iu el viaj urboj, kiujn la Eternulo, via Dio, donas al vi por loĝado, ke oni diras: 13Eliris el inter vi homoj sentaŭgaj kaj forlogis la loĝantojn de sia urbo, dirante: Ni iru kaj servu al aliaj dioj, kiujn vi ne konis; 14kaj vi serĉos kaj esploros kaj bone pridemandos; kaj montriĝos, ke tio estas preciza vero, ke la abomenaĵo estas farita inter vi: 15tiam mortigu la loĝantojn de tiu urbo per glavo, detruu ĝin, kaj ĉion, kio estas en ĝi, kaj ankaŭ ĝiajn brutojn mortigu per glavo. 16Kaj ĝian tutan havon kolektu sur la mezon de placo, kaj forbruligu per fajro la urbon kaj ĝian tutan havon, absolute ĉion, al la Eternulo, via Dio; kaj ĝi estu eterna ruino, oni neniam ĝin rekonstruu. 17Kaj nenio el la anatemaĵo algluiĝu al via mano, por ke la Eternulo forlasu Sian flaman koleron kaj donu al vi favorkorecon kaj indulgu vin kaj multigu vin, kiel Li ĵuris al viaj patroj, 18se vi aŭskultos la voĉon de la Eternulo, via Dio, observante ĉiujn Liajn ordonojn, kiujn mi ordonas al vi hodiaŭ, farante plaĉantaĵon antaŭ la okuloj de la Eternulo, via Dio.
1If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises in your midst you, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, 2and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, “Let us go after other gods” (which you have not known) “and let us serve them”; 3you shall not listen to the words of that prophet, or to that dreamer of dreams; for Yahweh your God is testing you, to know whether you love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4You shall walk after Yahweh your God, fear him, keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and you shall serve him, and cling to him. 5That prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death, because he has spoken rebellion against Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to draw you aside out of the way which Yahweh your God commanded you to walk in. So you shall remove the evil from your midst. 6If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend, who is as your own soul, entices you secretly, saying, “Let us go and serve other gods,” which you have not known, you, nor your fathers; 7of the gods of the peoples who are around you, near to you, or far off from you, from the one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth; 8you shall not consent to him, nor listen to him; neither shall your eye pity him, neither shall you spare, neither shall you conceal him; 9but you shall surely kill him. Your hand shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterwards the hands of all the people. 10You shall stone him to death with stones, because he has sought to draw you away from Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 11All Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall not do any more wickedness like this in your midst. 12If you shall hear about one of your cities, which Yahweh your God gives you to dwell there, that 13certain base fellows have gone out from your midst, and have drawn away the inhabitants of their city, saying, “Let us go and serve other gods,” which you have not known; 14then you shall inquire, and make search, and ask diligently. Behold, if it is true, and the thing certain, that such abomination was done in your midst, 15you shall surely strike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, with all that is therein and its livestock, with the edge of the sword. 16You shall gather all its plunder into the midst of its street, and shall burn with fire the city, and all every bit of its plunder, to Yahweh your God. It shall be a heap forever. It shall not be built again. 17Nothing of the devoted thing shall cling to your hand, that Yahweh may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and show you mercy, and have compassion on you, and multiply you, as he has sworn to your fathers; 18when you listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, to keep all his commandments which I command you this day, to do that which is right in Yahweh your God’s eyes.
1Wanneer een profeet, of dromen-dromer, in het midden van u zal opstaan, en u geven een teken of wonder; 2En dat teken of dat wonder komt, dat hij tot u gesproken had, zeggende: Laat ons andere goden, die gij niet gekend hebt, navolgen en hen dienen; 3Gij zult naar de woorden van dien profeet, of naar dien dromen-dromer niet horen; want de HEERE, uw God, verzoekt ulieden, om te weten, of gij den HEERE, uw God, liefhebt met uw ganse hart en met uw ganse ziel. 4Den HEERE, uw God, zult gij navolgen, en Hem vrezen, en Zijn geboden zult gij houden, en Zijn stem gehoorzaam zijn, en Hem dienen, en Hem aanhangen. 5En diezelve profeet, of dromen-dromer, zal gedood worden; want hij heeft tot een afval gesproken tegen den HEERE, uw God, Die ulieden uit Egypteland heeft uitgevoerd, en u uit het diensthuis verlost; om u af te drijven van den weg, dien u de HEERE, uw God, geboden heeft, om daarin te wandelen. Zo zult gij het boze uit het midden van u wegdoen. 6Wanneer uw broeder, de zoon uwer moeder, of uw zoon, of uw dochter, of de vrouw van uw schoot, of uw vriend, die als uw ziel is, u zal aanporren in het heimelijke, zeggende: Laat ons gaan, en dienen andere goden, die gij niet gekend hebt, gij noch uw vaderen; 7Van de goden der volken, die rondom u zijn, nabij u, of verre van u, van het ene einde der aarde tot aan het andere einde der aarde; 8Zo zult gij hem niet ter wille zijn, en naar hem niet horen; ook zal uw oog hem niet verschonen, en gij zult u niet ontfermen, noch hem verbergen; 9Maar gij zult hem zekerlijk doodslaan; uw hand zal eerst tegen hem zijn, om hem te doden, en daarna de hand des gansen volks. 10En gij zult hem met stenen stenigen, dat hij sterve; want hij heeft u gezocht af te drijven van den HEERE, uw God, Die u uit Egypteland, uit het diensthuis, uitgevoerd heeft. 11Opdat gans Israel het hore en vreze, en niet voortvare te doen naar dit boze stuk in het midden van u. 12Wanneer gij van een uwer steden, die de HEERE, uw God, u geeft, om aldaar te wonen, zult horen zeggen: 13Er zijn mannen, Belials-kinderen, uit het midden van u uitgegaan, en hebben de inwoners hunner stad aangedreven, zeggende: Laat ons gaan, en dienen andere goden, die gij niet gekend hebt; 14Zo zult gij onderzoeken, en naspeuren, en wel navragen; en ziet, het is de waarheid, de zaak is zeker, zulk een gruwel is in het midden van u gedaan; 15Zo zult gij de inwoners derzelver stad ganselijk slaan met de scherpte des zwaards, verbannende haar, en alles, wat daarin is, ook haar beesten, met de scherpte des zwaards. 16En al haar roof zult gij verzamelen in het midden van haar straat, en den HEERE, uw God, die stad en al haar roof ganselijk met vuur verbranden; en zij zal een hoop zijn eeuwiglijk, zij zal niet weder gebouwd worden. 17Ook zal er niets van het verbannene aan uw hand kleven, opdat de HEERE Zich wende van de hitte Zijns toorns, en u geve barmhartigheid, en Zich uwer erbarme, en u vermenigvuldige, gelijk als Hij uw vaderen gezworen heeft; 18Wanneer gij de stem des HEEREN, uws Gods, zult gehoorzaam zijn, om te houden al Zijn geboden, die ik u heden gebiede, om te doen wat recht is in de ogen des HEEREN, uws Gods.
