1Ότε δε κατέβη από του όρους, ηκολούθησαν αυτόν όχλοι πολλοί. 2Και ιδού, λεπρός ελθών προσεκύνει αυτόν, λέγων· Κύριε, εάν θέλης, δύνασαι να με καθαρίσης. 3Και εκτείνας την χείρα ο Ιησούς ήγγισεν αυτόν, λέγων· Θέλω, καθαρίσθητι. Και ευθύς εκαθαρίσθη η λέπρα αυτού. 4Και λέγει προς αυτόν ο Ιησούς· Πρόσεχε μη είπης τούτο εις μηδένα, αλλ' ύπαγε, δείξον σεαυτόν εις τον ιερέα και πρόσφερε το δώρον, το οποίον προσέταξεν ο Μωϋσής διά μαρτυρίαν εις αυτούς. 5Ότε δε εισήλθεν ο Ιησούς εις Καπερναούμ, προσήλθε προς αυτόν εκατόνταρχος παρακαλών αυτόν 6και λέγων· Κύριε, ο δούλός μου κείται εν τη οικία παραλυτικός, δεινώς βασανιζόμενος. 7Και λέγει προς αυτόν ο Ιησούς· Εγώ ελθών θέλω θεραπεύσει αυτόν. 8Και αποκριθείς ο εκατόνταρχος είπε· Κύριε, δεν είμαι άξιος να εισέλθης υπό την στέγην μου· αλλά μόνον ειπέ λόγον, και θέλει ιατρευθή ο δούλός μου. 9Διότι και εγώ είμαι άνθρωπος υπό εξουσίαν, έχων υπ' εμαυτόν στρατιώτας, και λέγω προς τούτον, Ύπαγε, και υπάγει, και προς άλλον, Έρχου, και έρχεται, και προς τον δούλον μου, Κάμε τούτο, και κάμνει. 10Ακούσας δε ο Ιησούς εθαύμασε και είπε προς τους ακολουθούντας· Αληθώς σας λέγω, ουδέ εν τω Ισραήλ εύρον τοσαύτην πίστιν. 11Σας λέγω δε ότι πολλοί θέλουσιν ελθεί από ανατολών και δυσμών και θέλουσι καθήσει μετά του Αβραάμ και Ισαάκ και Ιακώβ εν τη βασιλεία των ουρανών, 12οι δε υιοί της βασιλείας θέλουσιν εκβληθή εις το σκότος το εξώτερον· εκεί θέλει είσθαι ο κλαυθμός και ο τριγμός των οδόντων. 13Και είπεν ο Ιησούς προς τον εκατόνταρχον, Ύπαγε, και ως επίστευσας, ας γείνη εις σε. Και ιατρεύθη ο δούλος αυτού εν τη ώρα εκείνη. 14Και ελθών ο Ιησούς εις την οικίαν του Πέτρου, είδε την πενθεράν αυτού κατάκοιτον και πάσχουσαν πυρετόν· 15και επίασε την χείρα αυτής, και αφήκεν αυτήν ο πυρετός, και εσηκώθη και υπηρέτει αυτούς. 16Και ότε έγεινεν εσπέρα, έφεραν προς αυτόν δαιμονιζομένους πολλούς, και εξέβαλε τα πνεύματα με λόγον και πάντας τους κακώς έχοντας εθεράπευσε, 17διά να πληρωθή το ρηθέν διά Ησαΐου του προφήτου, λέγοντος· Αυτός τας ασθενείας ημών έλαβε και τας νόσους εβάστασεν. 18Ιδών δε ο Ιησούς πολλούς όχλους περί εαυτόν, προσέταξε να αναχωρήσωσιν εις το πέραν. 19Και πλησιάσας εις γραμματεύς είπε προς αυτόν, Διδάσκαλε, θέλω σοι ακολουθήσει όπου αν υπάγης. 20Και λέγει προς αυτόν ο Ιησούς· Αι αλώπεκες έχουσι φωλεάς και τα πετεινά του ουρανού κατοικίας, ο δε Υιός του ανθρώπου δεν έχει που να κλίνη την κεφαλήν. 21Άλλος δε εκ των μαθητών αυτού είπε προς αυτόν· Κύριε, συγχώρησόν μοι να υπάγω πρώτον και να θάψω τον πατέρα μου. 22Ο δε Ιησούς είπε προς αυτόν· Ακολούθει μοι και άφες τους νεκρούς να θάψωσι τους εαυτών νεκρούς. 23Και ότε εισήλθεν εις το πλοίον, ηκολούθησαν αυτόν οι μαθηταί αυτού. 24Και ιδού, τρικυμία μεγάλη έγεινεν εν τη θαλάσση, ώστε το πλοίον εσκεπάζετο υπό των κυμάτων· αυτός δε εκοιμάτο. 25Και προσελθόντες οι μαθηταί αυτού εξύπνισαν αυτόν, λέγοντες· Κύριε, σώσον ημάς, χανόμεθα. 26Και λέγει προς αυτούς· Διά τι είσθε δειλοί, ολιγόπιστοι; Τότε σηκωθείς επετίμησε τους ανέμους και την θάλασσαν, και έγεινε γαλήνη μεγάλη. 27Οι δε άνθρωποι εθαύμασαν, λέγοντες· Οποίος είναι ούτος, ότι και οι άνεμοι και η θάλασσα υπακούουσιν εις αυτόν; 28Και ότε ήλθεν εις το πέραν εις την χώραν των Γεργεσηνών, υπήντησαν αυτόν δύο δαιμονιζόμενοι εξερχόμενοι εκ των μνημείων, άγριοι καθ' υπερβολήν, ώστε ουδείς ηδύνατο να περάση διά της οδού εκείνης. 29Και ιδού, έκραξαν λέγοντες· Τι είναι μεταξύ ημών και σου, Ιησού, Υιέ του Θεού; ήλθες εδώ προ καιρού να μας βασανίσης; 30Ήτο δε μακράν απ' αυτών αγέλη χοίρων πολλών βοσκομένη. 31Και οι δαίμονες παρεκάλουν αυτόν, λέγοντες· Εάν μας εκβάλης, επίτρεψον εις ημάς να απέλθωμεν εις την αγέλην των χοίρων. 32Και είπε προς αυτούς· Υπάγετε. Και εκείνοι εξελθόντες υπήγαν εις την αγέλην των χοίρων· και ιδού, ώρμησε πάσα η αγέλη των χοίρων κατά του κρημνού εις την θάλασσαν και απέθανον εν τοις ύδασιν. 33Οι δε βόσκοντες έφυγον και ελθόντες εις την πόλιν, απήγγειλαν πάντα και τα των δαιμονιζομένων. 34Και ιδού, πάσα η πόλις εξήλθεν εις συνάντησιν του Ιησού, και ιδόντες αυτόν παρεκάλεσαν να μεταβή από των ορίων αυτών.
1When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. 2Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.” 3Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. 4Jesus said to him, “See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.” 5When he came into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking him, 6and saying, “Lord, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented.” 7Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” 8The centurion answered, “Lord, I’m not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and tell another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and tell my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 10When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to those who followed, “Most certainly I tell you, I haven’t found so great a faith, not even in Israel. 11I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven, 12but the children of the Kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” 13Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way. Let it be done for you as you have believed.” His servant was healed in that hour. 14When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. 15He touched her hand, and the fever left her. She got up and served him. 16When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick; 17that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases.” 18Now when Jesus saw great multitudes around him, he gave the order to depart to the other side. 19A scribe came, and said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.” 20Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” 21Another of his disciples said to him, “Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.” 22But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.” 23When he got into a boat, his disciples followed him. 24Behold, a violent storm came up on the sea, so much that the boat was covered with the waves, but he was asleep. 25They came to him, and woke him up, saying, “Save us, Lord! We are dying!” 26He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm. 27The men marveled, saying, “What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” 28When he came to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, two people possessed by demons met him there, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that nobody could pass that way. 29Behold, they cried out, saying, “What do we have to do with you, Jesus, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?” 30Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them. 31The demons begged him, saying, “If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs.” 32He said to them, “Go!” They came out, and went into the herd of pigs: and behold, the whole herd of pigs rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the water. 33Those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons. 34Behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged that he would depart from their borders.

En terstond werd hij van zijn melaatsheid gereinigd. 4En Jezus zeide tot hem: Zie, dat gij dit niemand zegt; maar ga heen, toon uzelven den priester, en offer de gave, die Mozes geboden heeft, hun tot een getuigenis. 5Als nu Jezus te Kapernaum ingegaan was, kwam tot Hem een hoofdman over honderd, biddende Hem, 6En zeggende: Heere! mijn knecht ligt te huis geraakt, en lijdt zware pijnen. 7En Jezus zeide tot hem: Ik zal komen en hem genezen. 8En de hoofdman over honderd, antwoordende, zeide: Heere! ik ben niet waardig, dat Gij onder mijn dak zoudt inkomen; maar spreek alleenlijk een woord, en mijn knecht zal genezen worden. 9Want ik ben ook een mens onder de macht van anderen, hebbende onder mij krijgsknechten; en ik zeg tot dezen: Ga! en hij gaat; en tot den anderen: Kom! en hij komt; en tot mijn dienstknecht: Doe dat! en hij doet het. 10Jezus nu, dit horende, heeft Zich verwonderd, en zeide tot dengenen, die Hem volgden: Voorwaar zeg Ik u, Ik heb zelfs in Israel zo groot een geloof niet gevonden. 11Doch Ik zeg u, dat velen zullen komen van oosten en westen en zullen met Abraham, en Izak, en Jakob, aanzitten in het Koninkrijk der hemelen; 12En de kinderen des Koninkrijks zullen uitgeworpen worden in de buitenste duisternis; aldaar zal wening zijn, en knersing der tanden. 13En Jezus zeide tot den hoofdman over honderd: Ga heen, en u geschiede, gelijk gij geloofd hebt. En zijn knecht is gezond geworden te diezelver ure. 14En Jezus gekomen zijnde in het huis van Petrus, zag zijn vrouws moeder te bed liggen, hebbende de koorts. 15En Hij raakte haar hand aan, en de koorts verliet haar; en zij stond op, en diende henlieden. 16En als het laat geworden was, hebben zij velen, van den duivel bezeten, tot Hem gebracht, en Hij wierp de boze geesten uit met den woorde, en Hij genas allen, die kwalijk gesteld waren; 17Opdat vervuld zou worden, dat gesproken was door Jesaja, den profeet, zeggende: Hij heeft onze krankheden op Zich genomen, en onze ziekten gedragen. 18En Jezus, vele scharen ziende rondom Zich, beval aan de andere zijde over te varen. 19En er kwam een zeker Schriftgeleerde tot Hem, en zeide tot Hem: Meester! ik zal U volgen, waar Gij ook henengaat. 20En Jezus zeide tot hem: De vossen hebben holen, en de vogelen des hemels nesten; maar de Zoon des mensen heeft niet, waar Hij het hoofd nederlegge. 21En een ander uit Zijn discipelen zeide tot Hem: Heere! laat mij toe, dat ik eerst heenga, en mijn vader begrave. 22Doch Jezus zeide tot hem: Volg Mij, en laat de doden hun doden begraven. 23En als Hij in het schip gegaan was, zijn Hem Zijn discipelen gevolgd. 24En ziet, er ontstond een grote onstuimigheid in de zee, alzo dat het schip van de golven bedekt werd; doch Hij sliep. 25En Zijn discipelen, bij Hem komende, hebben Hem opgewekt, zeggende: Heere, behoed ons, wij vergaan! 26En Hij zeide tot hen: Wat zijt gij vreesachtig, gij kleingelovigen? Toen stond Hij op, en bestrafte de winden en de zee; en er werd grote stilte. 27En de mensen verwonderden zich, zeggende: Hoedanig een is Deze, dat ook de winden en de zee Hem gehoorzaam zijn! 28En als Hij over aan de andere zijde was gekomen in het land der Gergesenen, zijn Hem twee, van den duivel bezeten, ontmoet, komende uit de graven, die zeer wreed waren, alzo dat niemand door dien weg kon voorbij gaan. 29En ziet, zij riepen, zeggende: Jezus, Gij Zone Gods! wat hebben wij met U te doen? Zijt Gij hier gekomen om ons te pijnigen voor den tijd? 30En verre van hen was een kudde veler zwijnen, weidende. 31En de duivelen baden Hem, zeggende: Indien Gij ons uitwerpt, laat ons toe, dat wij in die kudde zwijnen varen. 32En Hij zeide tot hen: Gaat heen. En zij uitgaande, voeren heen in de kudde zwijnen; en ziet, de gehele kudde zwijnen stortte van de steilte af in de zee, en zij stierven in het water. 33En die ze weidden, zijn gevlucht; en als zij in de stad gekomen waren, boodschapten zij al deze dingen, en wat den bezetenen geschied was. 34En ziet, de gehele stad ging uit, Jezus tegemoet; en als zij Hem zagen, baden zij, dat Hij uit hun landpalen wilde vertrekken.
