1Και εξελθών ο Ιησούς ανεχώρει από του ιερού· και προσήλθον οι μαθηταί αυτού διά να επιδείξωσιν εις αυτόν τας οικοδομάς του ιερού. 2Ο δε Ιησούς είπε προς αυτούς· Δεν βλέπετε πάντα ταύτα; αληθώς σας λέγω, δεν θέλει αφεθή εδώ λίθος επί λίθον, όστις δεν θέλει κατακρημνισθή. 3Και ενώ εκάθητο επί του όρους των Ελαιών, προσήλθον προς αυτόν οι μαθηταί κατ' ιδίαν, λέγοντες· Ειπέ προς ημάς πότε θέλουσι γείνει ταύτα, και τι το σημείον της παρουσίας σου και της συντελείας του αιώνος; 4Και αποκριθείς ο Ιησούς, είπε προς αυτούς· Βλέπετε μη σας πλανήση τις. 5Διότι πολλοί θέλουσιν ελθεί επί τω ονόματί μου, λέγοντες, Εγώ είμαι ο Χριστός, και πολλούς θέλουσι πλανήσει. 6Θέλετε δε ακούσει πολέμους και φήμας πολέμων· προσέχετε μη ταραχθήτε· επειδή πάντα ταύτα πρέπει να γείνωσιν, αλλά δεν είναι έτι το τέλος. 7Διότι θέλει εγερθή έθνος επί έθνος και βασιλεία επί βασιλείαν, και θέλουσι γείνει πείναι και λοιμοί και σεισμοί κατά τόπους· 8πάντα δε ταύτα είναι αρχή ωδίνων. 9Τότε θέλουσι σας παραδώσει εις θλίψιν και θέλουσι σας θανατώσει, και θέλετε είσθαι μισούμενοι υπό πάντων των εθνών διά το όνομά μου. 10Και τότε θέλουσι σκανδαλισθή πολλοί και θέλουσι παραδώσει αλλήλους και θέλουσι μισήσει αλλήλους. 11Και πολλοί ψευδοπροφήται θέλουσιν εγερθή και πλανήσει πολλούς, 12και επειδή θέλει πληθυνθή η ανομία, η αγάπη των πολλών θέλει ψυχρανθή. 13Ο δε υπομείνας έως τέλους, ούτος θέλει σωθή. 14Και θέλει κηρυχθή τούτο το ευαγγέλιον της βασιλείας εν όλη τη οικουμένη προς μαρτυρίαν εις πάντα τα έθνη, και τότε θέλει ελθεί το τέλος. 15Όταν λοιπόν ίδητε το βδέλυγμα της ερημώσεως, το λαληθέν διά του προφήτου Δανιήλ, ιστάμενον εν τω τόπω τω αγίω -ο αναγινώσκων ας εννοή- 16τότε οι εν τη Ιουδαία ας φεύγωσιν επί τα όρη· 17όστις ευρεθή επί του δώματος, ας μη καταβή διά να λάβη τι εκ της οικίας αυτού· 18και όστις ευρεθή εν τω αγρώ, ας μη επιστρέψη οπίσω διά να λάβη τα ιμάτια αυτού. 19Ουαί δε εις τας εγκυμονούσας και τας θηλαζούσας εν εκείναις ταις ημέραις. 20Προσεύχεσθε δε διά να μη γείνη η φυγή υμών εν χειμώνι μηδέ εν σαββάτω. 21Διότι τότε θέλει είσθαι θλίψις μεγάλη, οποία δεν έγεινεν απ' αρχής κόσμου έως του νυν, ουδέ θέλει γείνει. 22Και αν δεν συνετέμνοντο αι ημέραι εκείναι, δεν ήθελε σωθή ουδεμία σάρξ· διά τους εκλεκτούς όμως θέλουσι συντμηθή αι ημέραι εκείναι. 23Τότε εάν τις είπη προς υμάς· Ιδού εδώ είναι ο Χριστός ή εδώ, μη πιστεύσητε· 24διότι θέλουσιν εγερθή ψευδόχριστοι και ψευδοπροφήται και θέλουσι δείξει σημεία μεγάλα και τέρατα, ώστε να πλανήσωσιν, ει δυνατόν, και τους εκλεκτούς. 25Ιδού, προείπα προς υμάς. 26Εάν λοιπόν είπωσι προς υμάς, Ιδού, εν τη ερήμω είναι, μη εξέλθητε, Ιδού, εν τοις ταμείοις, μη πιστεύσητε· 27διότι καθώς η αστραπή εξέρχεται από ανατολών και φαίνεται έως δυσμών, ούτω θέλει είσθαι και η παρουσία του Υιού του ανθρώπου. 28Διότι όπου είναι το πτώμα, εκεί θέλουσι συναχθή οι αετοί. 29Ευθύς δε μετά την θλίψιν των ημερών εκείνων ο ήλιος θέλει σκοτισθή και η σελήνη δεν θέλει δώσει το φέγγος αυτής, και οι αστέρες θέλουσι πέσει από του ουρανού και αι δυνάμεις των ουρανών θέλουσι σαλευθή. 30Και τότε θέλει φανή το σημείον του Υιού του ανθρώπου εν τω ουρανώ, και τότε θέλουσι θρηνήσει πάσαι αι φυλαί της γης και θέλουσιν ιδεί τον Υιόν του ανθρώπου ερχόμενον επί των νεφελών του ουρανού μετά δυνάμεως και δόξης πολλής. 31Και θέλει αποστείλει τους αγγέλους αυτού μετά σάλπιγγος φωνής μεγάλης, και θέλουσι συνάξει τους εκλεκτούς αυτού εκ των τεσσάρων ανέμων απ' άκρων ουρανών έως άκρων αυτών. 32Από δε της συκής μάθετε την παραβολήν· Όταν ο κλάδος αυτής γείνη ήδη απαλός και εκβλαστάνη τα φύλλα, γνωρίζετε ότι πλησιάζει το θέρος· 33ούτω και σεις, όταν ίδητε πάντα ταύτα, εξεύρετε ότι πλησίον είναι επί τας θύρας. 34Αληθώς σας λέγω, δεν θέλει παρέλθει η γενεά αύτη, εωσού γείνωσι πάντα ταύτα. 35Ο ουρανός και η γη θέλουσι παρέλθει, οι δε λόγοι μου δεν θέλουσι παρέλθει. 36Περί δε της ημέρας εκείνης και της ώρας ουδείς γινώσκει, ουδέ οι άγγελοι των ουρανών, ειμή ο Πατήρ μου μόνος· 37και καθώς αι ημέραι του Νώε, ούτω θέλει είσθαι και η παρουσία του Υιού του ανθρώπου. 38Διότι καθώς εν ταις ημέραις ταις προ του κατακλυσμού ήσαν τρώγοντες και πίνοντες, νυμφευόμενοι και νυμφεύοντες, έως της ημέρας καθ' ην ο Νώε εισήλθεν εις την κιβωτόν, 39και δεν ενόησαν, εωσού ήλθεν ο κατακλυσμός και εσήκωσε πάντας, ούτω θέλει είσθαι και η παρουσία του Υιού του ανθρώπου. 40Τότε δύο θέλουσιν είσθαι εν τω αγρώ· ο εις παραλαμβάνεται και ο εις αφίνεται· 41δύο γυναίκες θέλουσιν αλέθει εν τω μύλω, μία παραλαμβάνεται και μία αφίνεται. 42Αγρυπνείτε λοιπόν, διότι δεν εξεύρετε ποία ώρα έρχεται ο Κύριος υμών. 43Τούτο δε γινώσκετε ότι εάν ήξευρεν ο οικοδεσπότης εν ποία φυλακή της νυκτός έρχεται ο κλέπτης, ήθελεν αγρυπνήσει και δεν ήθελεν αφήσει να διορυχθή η οικία αυτού. 44Διά τούτο και σεις γίνεσθε έτοιμοι, διότι καθ' ην ώραν δεν στοχάζεσθε, έρχεται ο Υιός του ανθρώπου. 45Τις λοιπόν είναι ο πιστός και φρόνιμος δούλος, τον οποίον ο κύριος αυτού κατέστησεν επί των υπηρετών αυτού, διά να δίδη εις αυτούς την τροφήν εν καιρώ; 46Μακάριος ο δούλος εκείνος, τον οποίον όταν έλθη ο κύριος αυτού θέλει ευρεί πράττοντα ούτως. 47Αληθώς σας λέγω ότι θέλει καταστήσει αυτόν επί πάντων των υπαρχόντων αυτού. 48Εάν δε είπη ο κακός εκείνος δούλος εν τη καρδία αυτού, Βραδύνει να έλθη ο κύριός μου, 49και αρχίση να δέρη τους συνδούλους, να τρώγη δε και να πίνη μετά των μεθυόντων, 50θέλει ελθεί ο κύριος του δούλου εκείνου καθ' ην ημέραν δεν προσμένει και καθ' ην ώραν δεν εξεύρει, 51και θέλει αποχωρίσει αυτόν, και το μέρος αυτού θέλει θέσει μετά των υποκριτών· εκεί θέλει είσθαι ο κλαυθμός και ο τριγμός των οδόντων.
1Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way. His disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple. 2But he answered them, “You see all of these things, don’t you? Most certainly I tell you, there will not be left here one stone on another, that will not be thrown down.” 3As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?” 4Jesus answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray. 5For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will lead many astray. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren’t troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet. 7For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places. 8But all these things are the beginning of birth pains. 9Then they will deliver you up to oppression, and will kill you. You will be hated by all of the nations for my name’s sake. 10Then many will stumble, and will deliver up one another, and will hate one another. 11Many false prophets will arise, and will lead many astray. 12Because iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold. 13But he who endures to the end, the same will be saved. 14This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. 15“When, therefore, you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take out things that are in his house. 18Let him who is in the field not return back to get his clothes. 19But woe to those who are with child and to nursing mothers in those days! 20Pray that your flight will not be in the winter, nor on a Sabbath, 21for then there will be great oppression, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be. 22Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened. 23“Then if any man tells you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or, ‘There,’ don’t believe it. 24For there will arise false christs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones. 25“Behold, I have told you beforehand. 26If therefore they tell you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ don’t go out; ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ don’t believe it. 27For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28For wherever the carcass is, there is where the vultures gather together. 29But immediately after the oppression of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken; 30and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. 31He will send out his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. 32“Now from the fig tree learn this parable. When its branch has now become tender, and produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near. 33Even so you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34Most certainly I tell you, this generationwill not pass away, until all these things are accomplished. 35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. 36But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven,but my Father only. 37“As the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ship, 39and they didn’t know until the flood came, and took them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 40Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and one will be left; 41two women grinding at the mill, one will be taken and one will be left. 42Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes. 43But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. 44Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come. 45“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season? 46Blessed is that servant whom his lord finds doing so when he comes. 47Most certainly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has. 48But if that evil servant should say in his heart, ‘My lord is delaying his coming,’ 49and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with the drunkards, 50the lord of that servant will come in a day when he doesn’t expect it, and in an hour when he doesn’t know it, 51and will cut him in pieces, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites. There is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.

4En Jezus, antwoordende, zeide tot hen: Ziet toe, dat u niemand verleide. 5Want velen zullen komen onder Mijn Naam, zeggende: Ik ben de Christus; en zij zullen velen verleiden. 6En gij zult horen van oorlogen, en geruchten van oorlogen; ziet toe, wordt niet verschrikt; want al die dingen moeten geschieden, maar nog is het einde niet. 7Want het ene volk zal tegen het andere volk opstaan, en het ene koninkrijk tegen het andere koninkrijk; en er zullen zijn hongersnoden, en pestilentien, en aardbevingen in verscheidene plaatsen. 8Doch al die dingen zijn maar een beginsel der smarten. 9Alsdan zullen zij u overleveren in verdrukking, en zullen u doden, en gij zult gehaat worden van alle volken, om Mijns Naams wil. 10En dan zullen er velen geergerd worden, en zullen elkander overleveren, en elkander haten. 11En vele valse profeten zullen opstaan, en zullen er velen verleiden. 12En omdat de ongerechtigheid vermenigvuldigd zal worden, zo zal de liefde van velen verkouden. 13Maar wie volharden zal tot het einde, die zal zalig worden. 14En dit Evangelie des Koninkrijks zal in de gehele wereld gepredikt worden tot een getuigenis allen volken; en dan zal het einde komen. 15Wanneer gij dan zult zien den gruwel der verwoesting, waarvan gesproken is door Daniel, de profeet, staande in de heilige plaats; (die het leest, die merke daarop!) 16Dat alsdan, die in Judea zijn, vlieden op de bergen; 17Die op het dak is, kome niet af, om iets uit zijn huis weg te nemen; 18En die op den akker is, kere niet weder terug, om zijn klederen weg te nemen. 19Maar wee de bevruchten, en den zogenden vrouwen in die dagen! 20Doch bidt, dat uw vlucht niet geschiede des winters, noch op een sabbat. 21Want alsdan zal grote verdrukking wezen, hoedanige niet is geweest van het begin der wereld tot nu toe, en ook niet zijn zal. 22En zo die dagen niet verkort werden, geen vlees zou behouden worden; maar om der uitverkorenen wil zullen die dagen verkort worden. 23Alsdan, zo iemand tot ulieden zal zeggen: Ziet, hier is de Christus, of daar, gelooft het niet. 24Want er zullen valse christussen en valse profeten opstaan, en zullen grote tekenen en wonderheden doen, alzo dat zij (indien het mogelijk ware) ook de uitverkorenen zouden verleiden. 25Ziet, Ik heb het u voorzegd! 26Zo zij dan tot u zullen zeggen: Ziet, hij is in de woestijn; gaat niet uit; Ziet, hij is in de binnenkameren; gelooft het niet. 27Want gelijk de bliksem uitgaat van het oosten, en schijnt tot het westen, alzo zal ook de toekomst van den Zoon des mensen wezen. 28Want alwaar het dode lichaam zal zijn, daar zullen de arenden vergaderd worden. 29En terstond na de verdrukking dier dagen, zal de zon verduisterd worden, en de maan zal haar schijnsel niet geven, en de sterren zullen van den hemel vallen, en de krachten der hemelen zullen bewogen worden. 30En alsdan zal in den hemel verschijnen het teken van den Zoon des mensen; en dan zullen al de geslachten der aarde wenen, en zullen den Zoon des mensen zien, komende op de wolken des hemels, met grote kracht en heerlijkheid. 31En Hij zal Zijn engelen uitzenden met een bazuin van groot geluid, en zij zullen Zijn uitverkorenen bijeenvergaderen uit de vier winden, van het ene uiterste der hemelen tot het andere uiterste derzelve. 32En leert van den vijgeboom deze gelijkenis: wanneer zijn tak nu teder wordt, en de bladeren uitspruiten, zo weet gij, dat de zomer nabij is. 33Alzo ook gijlieden, wanneer gij al deze dingen zult zien, zo weet, dat het nabij is, voor de deur. 34Voorwaar, Ik zeg u: Dit geslacht zal geenszins voorbijgaan, totdat al deze dingen zullen geschied zijn. 35De hemel en de aarde zullen voorbijgaan, maar Mijn woorden zullen geenszins voorbijgaan. 36Doch van dien dag en die ure weet niemand, ook niet de engelen der hemelen, dan Mijn Vader alleen. 37En gelijk de dagen van Noach waren, alzo zal ook zijn de toekomst van den Zoon des mensen. 38Want gelijk zij waren in de dagen voor den zondvloed, etende en drinkende, trouwende en ten huwelijk uitgevende, tot den dag toe, in welken Noach in de ark ging; 39En bekenden het niet, totdat de zondvloed kwam, en hen allen wegnam; alzo zal ook zijn de toekomst van de Zoon des mensen. 40Alsdan zullen er twee op den akker zijn, de een zal aangenomen, en de ander zal verlaten worden. 41Er zullen twee vrouwen malen in den molen, de ene zal aangenomen, en de andere zal verlaten worden. 42Waakt dan; want gij weet niet, in welke ure uw Heere komen zal. 43Maar weet dit, dat zo de heer des huizes geweten had, in welke nachtwake de dief komen zou, hij zou gewaakt hebben, en zou zijn huis niet hebben laten doorgraven. 44Daarom, zijt ook gij bereid; want in welke ure gij het niet meent, zal de Zoon des mensen komen. 45Wie is dan de getrouwe en voorzichtige dienstknecht, denwelken zijn heer over zijn dienstboden gesteld heeft, om hunlieder hun voedsel te geven ter rechter tijd? 46Zalig is die dienstknecht, welken zijn heer, komende, zal vinden alzo doende. 47Voorwaar, Ik zeg u, dat hij hem zal zetten over al zijn goederen. 48Maar zo die kwade dienstknecht in zijn hart zou zeggen: Mijn heer vertoeft te komen; 49En zou beginnen zijn mededienstknechten te slaan, en te eten en te drinken met de dronkaards; 50Zo zal de heer van dezen dienstknecht komen ten dage, in welken hij hem niet verwacht, en ter ure, die hij niet weet; 51En zal hem afscheiden, en zijn deel zetten met de geveinsden; daar zal wening zijn en knersing der tanden.
