1Διότι η βασιλεία των ουρανών είναι ομοία με άνθρωπον οικοδεσπότην, όστις εξήλθεν άμα τω πρωΐ διά να μισθώση εργάτας διά τον αμπελώνα αυτού. 2Αφού δε συνεφώνησε μετά των εργατών προς εν δηνάριον την ημέραν, απέστειλεν αυτούς εις τον αμπελώνα αυτού. 3Και εξελθών περί την τρίτην ώραν, είδεν άλλους ισταμένους εν τη αγορά αργούς, 4και προς εκείνους είπεν· Υπάγετε και σεις εις τον αμπελώνα, και ό,τι είναι δίκαιον θέλω σας δώσει. Και εκείνοι υπήγον. 5Πάλιν εξελθών περί την έκτην και ενάτην ώραν, έκαμεν ωσαύτως. 6Περί δε την ενδεκάτην ώραν εξελθών εύρεν άλλους ισταμένους αργούς, και λέγει προς αυτούς· Διά τι ίστασθε εδώ όλην την ημέραν αργοί; 7Λέγουσι προς αυτόν· Διότι ουδείς εμίσθωσεν ημάς. Λέγει προς αυτούς· Υπάγετε και σεις εις τον αμπελώνα, και ό,τι είναι δίκαιον θέλετε λάβει. 8Αφού δε έγεινεν εσπέρα, λέγει ο κύριος του αμπελώνος προς τον επίτροπον αυτού· Κάλεσον τους εργάτας και απόδος εις αυτούς τον μισθόν, αρχίσας από των εσχάτων έως των πρώτων. 9Και ελθόντες οι περί την ενδεκάτην ώραν μισθωθέντες, έλαβον ανά εν δηνάριον. 10Ελθόντες δε οι πρώτοι, ενόμισαν ότι θέλουσι λάβει πλειότερα, έλαβον όμως και αυτοί ανά εν δηνάριον. 11Και λαβόντες εγόγγυζον κατά του οικοδεσπότου, 12λέγοντες ότι, Ούτοι οι έσχατοι μίαν ώραν έκαμον, και έκαμες αυτούς ίσους με ημάς, οίτινες εβαστάσαμεν το βάρος της ημέρας και τον καύσωνα. 13Ο δε αποκριθείς είπε προς ένα εξ αυτών· Φίλε, δεν σε αδικώ· δεν συνεφώνησας εν δηνάριον μετ' εμού; 14λάβε το σον και ύπαγε· θέλω δε να δώσω εις τούτον τον έσχατον ως και εις σε. 15Η δεν έχω την εξουσίαν να κάμω ό,τι θέλω εις τα εμά; ή ο οφθαλμός σου είναι πονηρός διότι εγώ είμαι αγαθός; 16Ούτω θέλουσιν είσθαι οι έσχατοι πρώτοι και οι πρώτοι έσχατοι· διότι πολλοί είναι οι κεκλημένοι, ολίγοι δε οι εκλεκτοί. 17Και αναβαίνων ο Ιησούς εις Ιεροσόλυμα, παρέλαβε τους δώδεκα μαθητάς κατ' ιδίαν εν τη οδώ και είπε προς αυτούς. 18Ιδού, αναβαίνομεν εις Ιεροσόλυμα, και ο Υιός του ανθρώπου θέλει παραδοθή εις τους αρχιερείς και γραμματείς και θέλουσι καταδικάσει αυτόν εις θάνατον, 19και θέλουσι παραδώσει αυτόν εις τα έθνη διά να εμπαίξωσι και μαστιγώσωσι και σταυρώσωσι, και τη τρίτη ημέρα θέλει αναστηθή. 20Τότε προσήλθε προς αυτόν η μήτηρ των υιών του Ζεβεδαίου μετά των υιών αυτής, προσκυνούσα και ζητούσα τι παρ' αυτού. 21Ο δε είπε προς αυτήν· Τι θέλεις; Λέγει προς αυτόν· Ειπέ να καθήσωσιν ούτοι οι δύο υιοί μου εις εκ δεξιών σου και εις εξ αριστερών εν τη βασιλεία σου. 22Αποκριθείς δε ο Ιησούς είπε· Δεν εξεύρετε τι ζητείτε. Δύνασθε να πίητε το ποτήριον, το οποίον εγώ μέλλω να πίω, και να βαπτισθήτε το βάπτισμα, το οποίον εγώ βαπτίζομαι; Λέγουσι προς αυτόν· Δυνάμεθα. 23Και λέγει προς αυτούς· το μεν ποτήριόν μου θέλετε πίει; και το βάπτισμα το οποίον εγώ βαπτίζομαι θέλετε βαπτισθή· το να καθήσητε όμως εκ δεξιών μου και εξ αριστερών μου δεν είναι εμού να δώσω, ειμή εις όσους είναι ητοιμασμένον υπό του Πατρός μου. 24Και ακούσαντες οι δέκα ηγανάκτησαν περί των δύο αδελφών. 25Ο δε Ιησούς προσκαλέσας αυτούς, είπεν· Εξεύρετε ότι οι άρχοντες των εθνών κατακυριεύουσιν αυτά και οι μεγάλοι κατεξουσιάζουσιν αυτά. 26Ούτως όμως δεν θέλει είσθαι εν υμίν, αλλ' όστις θέλει να γείνη μέγας εν υμίν, ας ήναι υπηρέτης υμών, 27και όστις θέλη να ήναι πρώτος εν υμίν, ας ήναι δούλος υμών· 28καθώς ο Υιός του ανθρώπου δεν ήλθε διά να υπηρετηθή, αλλά διά να υπηρετήση και να δώση την ζωήν αυτού λύτρον αντί πολλών. 29Και ενώ εξήρχοντο από της Ιεριχώ, ηκολούθησεν αυτόν όχλος πολύς. 30Και ιδού, δύο τυφλοί καθήμενοι παρά την οδόν, ακούσαντες ότι ο Ιησούς διαβαίνει, έκραξαν λέγοντες· Ελέησον ημάς, Κύριε, υιέ του Δαβίδ. 31Ο δε όχλος επέπληξεν αυτούς διά να σιωπήσωσιν· αλλ' εκείνοι έκραζον δυνατώτερα, λέγοντες· Ελέησον ημάς, Κύριε, υιέ του Δαβίδ. 32Και σταθείς ο Ιησούς, έκραξεν αυτούς και είπε· Τι θέλετε να σας κάμω; 33Λέγουσι προς αυτόν· Κύριε, να ανοιχθώσιν οι οφθαλμοί ημών. 34Και ο Ιησούς σπλαγχνισθείς ήγγισε τους οφθαλμούς αυτών· και ευθύς ανέβλεψαν αυτών οι οφθαλμοί, και ηκολούθησαν αυτόν.
1“For the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who was the master of a household, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. 2When he had agreed with the laborers for a denariusa day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3He went out about the third hour,and saw others standing idle in the marketplace. 4To them he said, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ So they went their way. 5Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour,and did likewise. 6About the eleventh hourhe went out, and found others standing idle. He said to them, ‘Why do you stand here all day idle?’ 7“They said to him, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ “He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and you will receive whatever is right.’ 8When evening had come, the lord of the vineyard said to his manager, ‘Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning from the last to the first.’ 9“When those who were hired at about the eleventh hour came, they each received a denarius. 10When the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise each received a denarius. 11When they received it, they murmured against the master of the household, 12saying, ‘These last have spent one hour, and you have made them equal to us, who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat!’ 13“But he answered one of them, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me for a denarius? 14Take that which is yours, and go your way. It is my desire to give to this last just as much as to you. 15Isn’t it lawful for me to do what I want to with what I own? Or is your eye evil, because I am good?’ 16So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few are chosen.” 17As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside, and on the way he said to them, 18“Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death, 19and will hand him over to the Gentiles to mock, to scourge, and to crucify; and the third day he will be raised up.” 20Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, kneeling and asking a certain thing of him. 21He said to her, “What do you want?” She said to him, “Command that these, my two sons, may sit, one on your right hand, and one on your left hand, in your Kingdom.” 22But Jesus answered, “You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” They said to him, “We are able.” 23He said to them, “You will indeed drink my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with, but to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it is for whom it has been prepared by my Father.” 24When the ten heard it, they were indignant with the two brothers. 25But Jesus summoned them, and said, “You know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 26It shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you shall beyour servant. 27Whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant, 28even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” 29As they went out from Jericho, a great multitude followed him. 30Behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, you son of David!” 31The multitude rebuked them, telling them that they should be quiet, but they cried out even more, “Lord, have mercy on us, you son of David!” 32Jesus stood still, and called them, and asked, “What do you want me to do for you?” 33They told him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened.” 34Jesus, being moved with compassion, touched their eyes; and immediately their eyes received their sight, and they followed him.

Zij zeiden tot Hem: Wij kunnen. 23En Hij zeide tot hen: Mijn drinkbeker zult gij wel drinken, en met den doop, waarmede Ik gedoopt worde, zult gij gedoopt worden; maar het zitten tot Mijn rechter- en tot Mijn linker hand staat bij Mij niet te geven, maar het zal gegeven worden dien het bereid is van Mijn Vader. 24En als de andere tien dat hoorden, namen zij het zeer kwalijk van de twee broeders. 25En als Jezus hen tot Zich geroepen had, zeide Hij: Gij weet, dat de oversten der volken heerschappij voeren over hen, en de groten gebruiken macht over hen. 26Doch alzo zal het onder u niet zijn; maar zo wie onder u zal willen groot worden, die zij uw dienaar; 27En zo wie onder u zal willen de eerste zijn, die zij uw dienstknecht. 28Gelijk de Zoon des mensen niet is gekomen om gediend te worden, maar om te dienen, en Zijn ziel te geven tot een rantsoen voor velen. 29En als zij van Jericho uitgingen, is Hem een grote schare gevolgd. 30En ziet, twee blinden, zittende aan den weg, als zij hoorden, dat Jezus voorbijging, riepen, zeggende: Heere, Gij Zone Davids! ontferm U onzer. 31En de schare bestrafte hen, opdat zij zwijgen zouden; maar zij riepen te meer, zeggende: Ontferm U onzer, Heere, Gij Zone Davids! 32En Jezus, stil staande, riep hen en zeide: Wat wilt gij, dat Ik u doe? 33Zij zeiden tot Hem: Heere! dat onze ogen geopend worden. 34En Jezus, innerlijk bewogen zijnde met barmhartigheid, raakte hun ogen aan; en terstond werden hun ogen ziende, en zij volgden Hem.
