1Ο δε κλήρος της φυλής των υιών Ιούδα κατά τας συγγενείας αυτών ήτο εις τα όρια της Ιδουμαίας· η έρημος Σιν η προς νότον ήτο το άκρον το μεσημβρινόν. 2Και τα μεσημβρινά αυτών όρια ήσαν από των παραλίων της αλμυράς θαλάσσης, από του κόλπου του βλέποντος προς μεσημβρίαν· 3και εξετείνοντο προς το μεσημβρινόν μέρος εις την ανάβασιν Ακραββίμ, και διέβαινον εις Σιν και ανέβαινον από μεσημβρίας εις Κάδης-βαρνή, και διέβαινον την Εσρών και ανέβαινον εις Αδδάρ και έστρεφον προς Καρκαά· 4και διέβαινον εις Ασμών και εξήρχοντο έως του χειμάρρου της Αιγύπτου, και ετελείονον τα όρια εις την θάλασσαν· ταύτα θέλουσιν είσθαι τα μεσημβρινά όριά σας. 5Το δε ανατολικόν όριον ήτο η θάλασσα η αλμυρά, έως άκρου του Ιορδάνου. Και το όριον κατά το βόρειον μέρος ήρχετο από του κόλπου της θαλάσσης κατά το άκρον του Ιορδάνου· 6και ανέβαινε το όριον έως Βαιθ-ογλά, και διέβαινεν από βορρά της Βαιθ-αραβά· και ανέβαινε το όριον έως του λίθου του Βοάν υιού του Ρουβήν· 7και ανέβαινε το όριον προς Δεβείρ από της κοιλάδος Αχώρ, και εξετείνετο προς βορράν βλέπον εις Γάλγαλα, την κατέναντι της αναβάσεως Αδουμμίμ, ήτις είναι προς το μεσημβρινόν του ποταμού· έπειτα διέβαινε το όριον επί τα ύδατα του Εν-σεμές, και εξήρχετο εις Εν-ρωγήλ· 8και ανέβαινε το όριον διά της φάραγγος του υιού του Εννόμ κατά το μεσημβρινόν πλάγιον της Ιεβούς· αύτη είναι η Ιερουσαλήμ· και ανέβαινε το όριον εις την κορυφήν του όρους, του κατέναντι της φάραγγος Εννόμ προς δυσμάς, ήτις είναι εις το τέλος της κοιλάδος των Ραφαείμ προς βορράν· 9και διέβαινε το όριον από της κορυφής του όρους έως της πηγής των υδάτων Νεφθωά, και εξήρχετο εις τας κωμοπόλεις του όρους Εφρών· και διευθύνετο το όριον εις Βααλά, ήτις είναι η Κιριάθ-ιαρείμ· 10και έστρεφε το όριον από Βααλά προς δυσμάς εις το όρος Σηείρ, και διέβαινεν εις το πλάγιον του όρους Ιαρείμ, όπου είναι η Χασαλών, προς βορράν· και κατέβαινεν εις την Βαιθ-σεμές και διέβαινεν εις Θαμνά· 11έπειτα εξήρχετο το όριον εις το πλάγιον της Ακκαρών προς βορράν· και διευθύνετο το όριον εις Σικρών, και διέβαινεν εις το όρος της Βααλά, και εξήρχετο εις Ιαβνήλ, και έκαμνε το όριον διέξοδον εις την θάλασσαν. 12Και το όριον το δυτικόν ήτο η θάλασσα η μεγάλη και τα παράλια. Ταύτα είναι τα όρια των υιών Ιούδα κύκλω, κατά τας συγγενείας αυτών. 13Και εις τον Χάλεβ τον υιόν του Ιεφοννή έδωκε μερίδιον μεταξύ των υιών Ιούδα, κατά την προσταγήν του Κυρίου την προς τον Ιησούν, την πόλιν του Αρβά πατρός του Ανάκ, ήτις είναι η Χεβρών. 14Και εξεδίωξεν εκείθεν ο Χάλεβ τους τρεις υιούς του Ανάκ, τον Σεσαΐ και τον Αχιμάν και τον Θαλμαΐ, τους υιούς του Ανάκ. 15Και εκείθεν ανέβη επί τους κατοίκους της Δεβείρ· το δε όνομα της Δεβείρ πρότερον ήτο Κιριάθ-σεφέρ. 16Και είπεν ο Χάλεβ, Όστις πατάξη την Κιριάθ-σεφέρ και κυριεύση αυτήν, θέλω δώσει εις τούτον Αχσάν την θυγατέρα μου εις γυναίκα. 17Και εκυρίευσεν αυτήν Γοθονιήλ ο υιός του Κενέζ αδελφός του Χάλεβ· και έδωκεν εις αυτόν Αχσάν την θυγατέρα αυτού εις γυναίκα. 18Και αυτή, ότε απήρχετο, παρεκίνησεν αυτόν να ζητήση παρά του πατρός αυτής αγρόν· και κατέβη από του όνου, και είπε προς αυτήν ο Χάλεβ, Τι θέλεις; 19Η δε είπε, Δος μοι ευλογίαν· επειδή έδωκας εις εμέ γην μεσημβρινήν, δος μοι και πηγάς υδάτων. Και έδωκεν εις αυτήν τας άνω πηγάς και τας κάτω πηγάς. 20Αύτη είναι η κληρονομία της φυλής των υιών Ιούδα κατά τας συγγενείας αυτών. 21Και ήσαν αι έσχαται πόλεις της φυλής των υιών Ιούδα προς τα όρια της Εδώμ προς μεσημβρίαν, Καβσεήλ, και Εδέρ, και Ιαγούρ, 22και Κινά, και Διμωνά, και Αδαδά, 23και Κέδες, και Ασώρ, και Ιθνάν, 24Ζιφ, και Τελέμ, και Βαλώθ, 25και Ασώρ, Αδαττά, και Κιριώθ-εσρών, η και Ασώρ, 26Αμάμ, και Σεμά, και Μωλαδά, 27και Ασάρ-γαδδά, και Εσεμών, και Βαιθ-φαλέθ, 28και Ασάρ-σουάλ, και Βηρ-σαβεέ, και Βιζιοθιά, 29Βααλά, και Ιείμ, και Ασέμ, 30και Ελθωλάδ, και Χεσίλ, και Ορμά, 31και Σικλάγ, και Μαδμαννά, και Σανσαννά, 32και Λεβαώθ, και Σιλεείμ, και Αείν, και Ριμμών· πάσαι αι πόλεις είκοσι εννέα, και αι κώμαι αυτών. 33Εν τη πεδινή ήσαν Εσθαόλ, και Σαραά, και Ασνά, 34και Ζανωά, και Εν-γαννίμ, Θαπφουά, και Ηνάμ, 35Ιαρμούθ, και Οδολλάμ, Σωχώ, και Αζηκά, 36και Σαγαρείμ, και Αδιθαείμ, και Γεδηρά, και αι επαύλεις αυτών, πόλεις δεκατέσσαρες, και αι κώμαι αυτών. 37Σενάν, και Αδασά, και Μάγδαλ-γαδ, 38και Διλαάν, και Μισπά, και Ιοκθεήλ, 39Λαχείς, και Βασκάθ, και Εγλών, 40και Χαββών, και Λαμάς, και Χιθλείς, 41και Γεδηρώθ, Βαιθ-δαγών, και Νααμά, και Μακκηδά, πόλεις δεκαέξ, και αι κώμαι αυτών. 42Λιβνά, και Εθέρ, και Ασάν, 43και Ιεφθά, και Ασνά, και Νεσίβ, 44και Κεειλά, και Αχζίβ, και Μαρησά, πόλεις εννέα, και αι κώμαι αυτών. 45Ακκαρών, και αι κωμοπόλεις αυτής, και αι κώμαι αυτής· 46από της Ακκαρών έως της θαλάσσης, πάσαι αι πλησίον της Αζώτου, και αι κώμαι αυτών. 47Άζωτος, αι κωμοπόλεις αυτής και αι κώμαι αυτής, Γάζα, αι κωμοπόλεις αυτής και αι κώμαι αυτής, έως του χειμάρρου της Αιγύπτου, και η θάλασσα η μεγάλη το όριον. 48Και εν τη ορεινή, Σαμείρ, και Ιαθείρ, και Σωχώ, 49και Δαννά, και Κιριάθ-σαννά, ήτις είναι η Δεβείρ, 50και Ανάβ, και Εσθεμώ, και Ανείμ, 51και Γεσέν, και Ωλών, και Γιλώ, πόλεις ένδεκα, και αι κώμαι αυτών. 52Αράβ, και Δουμά, και Εσάν, 53και Ιανούμ, και Βαιθ-θαπφουά, και Αφεκά, 54και Χουματά, και Κιριάθ-αρβά, ήτις είναι η Χεβρών, και Σιώρ, πόλεις εννέα, και αι κώμαι αυτών. 55Μαών, Καρμέλ, και Ζιφ, και Ιουτά, 56και Ιεζραέλ, και Ιοκδεάμ, και Ζανωά, 57Ακαΐν, Γαβαά, και Θαμνά, πόλεις δέκα, και αι κώμαι αυτών. 58Αλούλ, Βαιθ-σούρ, και Γεδώρ, 59και Μααράθ, και Βαιθ-ανώθ, και Ελτεκών, πόλεις εξ, και αι κώμαι αυτών. 60Κιριάθ-βαάλ, ήτις είναι η Κιριάθ-ιαρείμ, και Ραββά, πόλεις δύο, και αι κώμαι αυτών. 61Εν τη ερήμω, Βαιθ-αραβά, Μιδδίν, και Σεχαχά, 62και Νιβσάν, και η πόλις του άλατος, και Εν-γαδδί, πόλεις εξ, και αι κώμαι αυτών. 63τους δε Ιεβουσαίους, τους κατοικούντας την Ιερουσαλήμ, οι υιοί Ιούδα δεν ηδυνήθησαν να εκδιώξωσιν αυτούς· αλλά κατοικούσιν οι Ιεβουσαίοι μετά των υιών Ιούδα εν τη Ιερουσαλήμ έως της ημέρας ταύτης.

1The lot for the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was to the border of Edom, even to the wilderness of Zin southward, at the uttermost part of the south. 2Their south border was from the uttermost part of the Salt Sea, from the bay that looks southward; 3and it went out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and went up by the south of Kadesh Barnea, and passed along by Hezron, went up to Addar, and turned about to Karka; 4and it passed along to Azmon, went out at the brook of Egypt; and the border ended at the sea. This shall be your south border. 5The east border was the Salt Sea, even to the end of the Jordan. The border of the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the end of the Jordan. 6The border went up to Beth Hoglah, and passed along by the north of Beth Arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben. 7The border went up to Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is over against the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the river. The border passed along to the waters of En Shemesh, and ended at En Rogel. 8The border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom to the side of the Jebusite southward (the same is Jerusalem); and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the farthest part of the valley of Rephaim northward. 9The border extended from the top of the mountain to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of Mount Ephron; and the border extended to Baalah (the same is Kiriath Jearim); 10and the border turned about from Baalah westward to Mount Seir, and passed along to the side of Mount Jearim on the north (the same is Chesalon), and went down to Beth Shemesh, and passed along by Timnah; 11and the border went out to the side of Ekron northward; and the border extended to Shikkeron, and passed along to Mount Baalah, and went out at Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea. 12The west border was to the shore of the great sea. This is the border of the children of Judah according to their families. 13To Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Yahweh to Joshua, even Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak (the same is Hebron). 14Caleb drove out the three sons of Anak: Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak. 15He went up against the inhabitants of Debir: now the name of Debir before was Kiriath Sepher. 16Caleb said, “He who strikes Kiriath Sepher, and takes it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter as wife.” 17Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife. 18When she came, she had him ask her father for a field. She got off of her donkey, and Caleb said, “What do you want?” 19She said, “Give me a blessing. Because you have set me in the land of the South, give me also springs of water.” He gave her the upper springs and the lower springs. 20This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families. 21The farthest cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the border of Edom in the South were Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur, 22Kinah, Dimonah, Adadah, 23Kedesh, Hazor, Ithnan, 24Ziph, Telem, Bealoth, 25Hazor Hadattah, Kerioth Hezron (the same is Hazor), 26Amam, Shema, Moladah, 27Hazar Gaddah, Heshmon, Beth Pelet, 28Hazar Shual, Beersheba, Biziothiah, 29Baalah, Iim, Ezem, 30Eltolad, Chesil, Hormah, 31Ziklag, Madmannah, Sansannah, 32Lebaoth, Shilhim, Ain, and Rimmon. All the cities are twenty-nine, with their villages. 33In the lowland, Eshtaol, Zorah, Ashnah, 34Zanoah, En Gannim, Tappuah, Enam, 35Jarmuth, Adullam, Socoh, Azekah, 36Shaaraim, Adithaim and Gederah (or Gederothaim); fourteen cities with their villages. 37Zenan, Hadashah, Migdal Gad, 38Dilean, Mizpah, Joktheel, 39Lachish, Bozkath, Eglon, 40Cabbon, Lahmam, Chitlish, 41Gederoth, Beth Dagon, Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages. 42Libnah, Ether, Ashan, 43Iphtah, Ashnah, Nezib, 44Keilah, Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages. 45Ekron, with its towns and its villages; 46from Ekron even to the sea, all that were by the side of Ashdod, with their villages. 47Ashdod, its towns and its villages; Gaza, its towns and its villages; to the brook of Egypt, and the great sea with its coastline. 48In the hill country, Shamir, Jattir, Socoh, 49Dannah, Kiriath Sannah (which is Debir), 50Anab, Eshtemoh, Anim, 51Goshen, Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages. 52Arab, Dumah, Eshan, 53Janim, Beth Tappuah, Aphekah, 54Humtah, Kiriath Arba (the same is Hebron), and Zior; nine cities with their villages. 55Maon, Carmel, Ziph, Jutah, 56Jezreel, Jokdeam, Zanoah, 57Kain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages. 58Halhul, Beth Zur, Gedor, 59Maarath, Beth Anoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages. 60Kiriath Baal (the same is Kiriath Jearim), and Rabbah; two cities with their villages. 61In the wilderness, Beth Arabah, Middin, Secacah, 62Nibshan, the City of Salt, and En Gedi; six cities with their villages. 63As for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah couldn’t drive them out; but the Jebusites live with the children of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.

1En het lot voor den stam der kinderen van Juda, naar hun huisgezinnen, was: aan de landpale van Edom, de woestijn Zin, zuidwaarts, was het uiterste tegen het zuiden; 2Zodat hun landpale, tegen het zuiden, het uiterste van de Zoutzee was, van de tong af, die tegen het zuiden ziet; 3En zij gaat uit naar het zuiden tot den opgang van Akrabbim, en gaat door naar Zin, en gaat op van het zuiden naar Kades-Barnea, en gaat door Hezron, en gaat op naar Adar, en gaat om Karkaa; 4En gaat door naar Azmon, en komt uit aan de beek van Egypte; en de uitgangen dezer landpale zullen naar de zee zijn. Dit zal uw landpale tegen het zuiden zijn. 5De landpale nu tegen het oosten zal de Zoutzee zijn, tot aan het uiterste van de Jordaan; en de landpale, aan de zijde tegen het noorden, zal zijn van de tong der zee, van het uiterste van de Jordaan. 6En deze landpale zal opgaan tot Beth-hogla, en zal doorgaan van het noorden naar Beth-araba; en deze landpale zal opgaan tot den steen van Bohan, den zoon van Ruben. 7Verder zal deze landpale opgaan naar Debir, van het dal van Achor, en zal noordwaarts zien naar Gilgal, hetwelk tegen den opgang van Adummim is, die aan het zuiden der beek is. Daarna zal deze landpale doorgaan tot het water van En-semes, en haar uitgangen zullen wezen te En-rogel. 8En deze landpale zal opgaan door het dal van den zoon van Hinnom, aan de zijde van den Jebusiet van het zuiden, dezelve is Jeruzalem; en deze landpale zal opwaarts gaan tot de spits van den berg, die voor aan het dal van Hinnom is, westwaarts, hetwelk in het uiterste van het dal der Refaieten is, tegen het noorden. 9Daarna zal deze landpale strekken van de hoogte des bergs tot aan de waterfontein Nefthoah, en uitgaan tot de steden van het gebergte Efron. Verder zal deze landpale strekken naar Baala; deze is Kirjath-Jearim. 10Daarna zal deze landpale zich omkeren Baala tegen het westen, naar het gebergte Seir, en zal doorgaan aan de zijde van den berg Jearim van het noorden; deze is Chesalon; en zij zal afkomen naar Beth-Semes, en door Timna gaan. 11Verder zal deze landpale uitgaan aan de zijde van Ekron, noordwaarts, en deze landpale zal strekken naar Sichron aan, en over den berg Baala gaan, en uitgaan te Jabneel; en de uitgangen dezer landpale zullen zijn naar de zee. 12De landpale nu tegen het westen zal zijn tot de grote zee en derzelver landpale. Dit is de landpale der kinderen van Juda rondom heen, naar hun huisgezinnen. 13Doch Kaleb, den zoon van Jefunne, had hij een deel gegeven in het midden der kinderen van Juda, naar den mond des HEEREN tot Jozua, de stad van Arba, vader van Enak, dat is Hebron. 14En Kaleb verdreef van daar de drie zonen van Enak, Sesai, en Ahiman, en Talmai, geboren van Enak. 15En van daar toog hij opwaarts tot de inwoners van Debir, (de naam van Debir nu was te voren Kirjath-Sefer). 16En Kaleb zeide: Wie Kirjath-Sefer zal slaan, en nemen haar in, dien zal ik ook mijn dochter Achsa tot een vrouw geven. 17Othniel nu, de zoon van Kenaz, den broeder van Kaleb, nam haar in; en hij gaf hem Achsa, zijn dochter, tot een vrouw. 18En het geschiedde, als zij tot hem kwam, zo porde zij hem aan, om een veld van haar vader te begeren; en zij sprong van den ezel af; toen sprak Kaleb tot haar: Wat is u? 19En zij zeide: Geef mij een zegen; dewijl gij mij een dor land gegeven hebt, geef mij ook waterwellingen. Toen gaf hij haar hoge waterwellingen en lage waterwellingen. 20Dit is het erfdeel van den stam der kinderen van Juda, naar hun huisgezinnen. 21De steden nu, van het uiterste van den stam der kinderen van Juda, tot de landpale van Edom, tegen het zuiden, zijn: Kabzeel, en Eder, en Jagur, 22En Kina, en Dimona, en Adada, 23En Kedes, en Hazor, en Jithnan, 24Zif, en Telem, en Bealoth, 25En Hazor-Hadattha, en Kerioth-Hezron, dat is Hazor, 26Amam, en Sema, en Molada, 27En Hazar-Gadda, en Hesmon, en Beth-Palet, 28En Hazar-Sual, en Beer-Seba, en Bizjotheja, 29Baala, en Ijim, en Azem, 30En Eltholad, en Chesil, en Horma, 31En Ziklag, en Madmanna, en Sanzanna, 32En Lebaoth, en Silhim, en Ain, en Rimmon. Al deze steden zijn negen en twintig en haar dorpen. 33In de laagte zijn: Esthaol, en Zora, en Asna, 34En Zanoah, en En-gannim, Tappuah, en Enam, 35Jarmuth, en Adullam, Socho en Azeka, 36En Saaraim, en Adithaim, en Gedera, en Gederothaim; veertien steden en haar dorpen. 37Zenan, en Hadasa, en Migdal-gad, 38En Dilan, en Mizpa, en Jokteel, 39Lachis, en Bozkath, en Eglon, 40En Chabbon, en Lahmas, en Chitlis, 41En Gederoth, Beth-Dagon, en Naama, en Makkeda; zestien steden en haar dorpen. 42Libna, en Ether, en Asan, 43En Jiftah, en Asna, en Nezib, 44En Kehila, en Achzib, en Mareza; negen steden en haar dorpen. 45Ekron, en haar onderhorige plaatsen, en haar dorpen. 46Van Ekron, en naar de zee toe; alle, die aan de zijde van Asdod zijn, en haar dorpen; 47Asdod, haar onderhorige plaatsen en haar dorpen; Gaza, haar onderhorige plaatsen en haar dorpen, tot aan de rivier van Egypte; en de grote zee, en haar landpale. 48Op het gebergte nu: Samir, en Jatthir, en Socho, 49En Danna, en Kirjath-Sanna, die is Debir, 50En Anab, en Estemo, en Anim, 51En Gosen, en Holon, en Gilo; elf steden en haar dorpen. 52Arab, en Duma, en Esan, 53En Janum, en Beth-Tappuah, en Afeka, 54En Humta, en Kirjath-Arba, die is Hebron, en Zior; negen steden en haar dorpen. 55Maon, Karmel, en Zif, en Juta, 56En Jizreel, en Jokdeam, en Zanoah, 57Kain, Gibea, en Timna; tien steden en haar dorpen. 58Halhul, Beth-Zur, en Gedor, 59En Maarath, en Beth-Anoth, en Eltekon; zes steden en haar dorpen. 60Kirjath-Baal, die is Kirjath-Jearim, en Rabba; twee steden en haar dorpen. 61In de woestijn: Beth-araba, Middin en Sechacha, 62En Nibsan, en de Zoutstad, en Engedi; zes steden en haar dorpen. 63Maar de kinderen van Juda konden de Jebusieten, inwoners van Jeruzalem, niet verdrijven; alzo woonden de Jebusieten bij de kinderen van Juda te Jeruzalem, tot dezen dag toe.
