1Και μετά τα πράγματα ταύτα, ο οινοχόος του βασιλέως της Αιγύπτου και ο αρτοποιός ημάρτησαν εις τον κύριον αυτών τον βασιλέα της Αιγύπτου. 2Και ωργίσθη ο Φαραώ κατά των δύο αυλικών αυτού, κατά του αρχιοινοχόου, και κατά του αρχισιτοποιού. 3Και έβαλεν αυτούς υπό φύλαξιν εν τω οίκω του άρχοντος των σωματοφυλάκων, εις την οχυράν φυλακήν, εις τον τόπον όπου ο Ιωσήφ ήτο πεφυλακισμένος. 4Ο δε άρχων των σωματοφυλάκων ενεπιστεύθη αυτούς εις τον Ιωσήφ και ούτος υπηρέτει αυτούς· ήσαν δε καιρόν τινά εν τη φυλακή· 5και ο οινοχόος και ο αρτοποιός του βασιλέως της Αιγύπτου, οίτινες ήσαν πεφυλακισμένοι εν τη οχυρά φυλακή, ενυπνιάσθησαν ενύπνιον αμφότεροι, έκαστος το ενύπνιον αυτού κατά την αυτήν νύκτα, έκαστος κατά την εξήγησιν του ενυπνίου αυτού. 6Ο δε Ιωσήφ εισελθών προς αυτούς το πρωΐ, είδεν αυτούς· και ιδού, ήσαν τεταραγμένοι. 7Και ηρώτησε τους αυλικούς του Φαραώ, τους όντας μετ' αυτού εν τη φυλακή εν τω οίκω του κυρίου αυτού, λέγων, Διά τι τα πρόσωπά σας είναι σκυθρωπά σήμερον; 8Οι δε είπον προς αυτόν, Ενυπνιάσθημεν ενύπνιον και δεν είναι ουδείς όστις να εξηγήση αυτό. Και είπε προς αυτούς ο Ιωσήφ, Δεν ανήκουσιν εις τον Θεόν αι εξηγήσεις; διηγήθητέ μοι, παρακαλώ. 9Και διηγήθη ο αρχιοινοχόος το ενύπνιον αυτού προς τον Ιωσήφ και είπε προς αυτόν, Είδον εις το όνειρόν μου και ιδού, άμπελος έμπροσθέν μου· 10και εις την άμπελον ήσαν τρεις κλάδοι και εφαίνετο ως βλαστάνουσα και τα άνθη αυτής εξήνθησαν και οι βότρυες της σταφυλής ωρίμασαν· 11το δε ποτήριον του Φαραώ ήτο εν τη χειρί μου· και έλαβον τα σταφύλια και έθλιψα αυτά εις το ποτήριον του Φαραώ και έδωκα το ποτήριον εις την χείρα του Φαραώ. 12Και είπεν ο Ιωσήφ προς αυτόν, Αύτη είναι η εξήγησις αυτού· οι τρεις κλάδοι είναι τρεις ημέραι· 13μετά τρεις ημέρας, ο Φαραώ θέλει υψώσει την κεφαλήν σου και θέλει σε αποκαταστήσει εις το υπούργημά σου· και θέλεις δώσει το ποτήριον του Φαραώ εις την χείρα αυτού κατά την προτέραν συνήθειαν, ότε ήσο οινοχόος αυτού· 14πλην ενθυμήθητί με, όταν γείνη εις σε το καλόν· και κάμε, παρακαλώ, έλεος προς εμέ και ανάφερε περί εμού προς τον Φαραώ και εξάγαγέ με εκ του οίκου τούτου· 15επειδή τη αληθεία εκλέφθην εκ της γης των Εβραίων· και εδώ πάλιν δεν έπραξα ουδέν, ώστε να με βάλωσιν εις τον λάκκον τούτον. 16Και ιδών ο αρχισιτοποιός ότι η εξήγησις ήτο καλή, είπε προς τον Ιωσήφ, Και εγώ είδον εις το όνειρόν μου και ιδού, τρία κάνιστρα λευκά επί της κεφαλής μου· 17εν δε τω κανίστρω τω ανωτέρω ήσαν εκ πάντων των φαγητών του Φαραώ, της τέχνης του αρτοποιού· και τα πτηνά έτρωγον αυτά εκ του κανίστρου επάνωθεν της κεφαλής μου. 18Και αποκριθείς ο Ιωσήφ είπεν, Αύτη είναι η εξήγησις τούτου· τα τρία κάνιστρα είναι τρεις ημέραι· 19μετά τρεις ημέρας ο Φαραώ θέλει υψώσει την κεφαλήν σου επάνωθέν σου και θέλει σε κρεμάσει εις ξύλον και τα πτηνά θέλουσι φάγει την σάρκα σου επάνωθέν σου. 20Και την τρίτην ημέραν, ημέραν των γενεθλίων του Φαραώ, έκαμε συμπόσιον εις πάντας τους δούλους αυτού· και ύψωσε την κεφαλήν του αρχιοινοχόου και την κεφαλήν του αρχισιτοποιού μεταξύ των δούλων αυτού. 21Και τον μεν αρχιοινοχόον αποκατέστησεν εις την οινοχοΐαν αυτού, και έδωκε το ποτήριον εις την χείρα του Φαραώ· 22τον δε αρχισιτοποιόν εκρέμασε, καθώς εξήγησεν ο Ιωσήφ εις αυτούς. 23Ο αρχιοινοχόος όμως δεν ενεθυμήθη τον Ιωσήφ, αλλά ελησμόνησεν αυτόν.
1After these things, the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker offended their lord, the king of Egypt. 2Pharaoh was angry with his two officers, the chief cup bearer and the chief baker. 3He put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound. 4The captain of the guard assigned them to Joseph, and he took care of them. They stayed in prison many days. 5They both dreamed a dream, each man his dream, in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the cup bearer and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were bound in the prison. 6Joseph came in to them in the morning, and saw them, and saw that they were sad. 7He asked Pharaoh’s officers who were with him in custody in his master’s house, saying, “Why do you look so sad today?” 8They said to him, “We have dreamed a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it.” Joseph said to them, “Don’t interpretations belong to God? Please tell it to me.” 9The chief cup bearer told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, “In my dream, behold, a vine was in front of me, 10and in the vine were three branches. It was as though it budded, it blossomed, and its clusters produced ripe grapes. 11Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand; and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh’s cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand.” 12Joseph said to him, “This is its interpretation: the three branches are three days. 13Within three more days, Pharaoh will lift up your head, and restore you to your office. You will give Pharaoh’s cup into his hand, the way you did when you were his cup bearer. 14But remember me when it will be well with you, and please show kindness to me, and make mention of me to Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house. 15For indeed, I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews, and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.” 16When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said to Joseph, “I also was in my dream, and behold, three baskets of white bread were on my head. 17In the uppermost basket there were all kinds of baked food for Pharaoh, and the birds ate them out of the basket on my head.” 18Joseph answered, “This is its interpretation. The three baskets are three days. 19Within three more days, Pharaoh will lift up your head from off you, and will hang you on a tree; and the birds will eat your flesh from off you.” 20On the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, he made a feast for all his servants, and he lifted up the head of the chief cup bearer and the head of the chief baker among his servants. 21He restored the chief cup bearer to his position again, and he gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand; 22but he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph had interpreted to them. 23Yet the chief cup bearer didn’t remember Joseph, but forgot him.

En Jozef zeide tot hen: Zijn de uitleggingen niet van God? Vertelt ze mij toch. 9Toen vertelde de overste der schenkers Jozef zijn droom, en zeide tot hem: In mijn droom, zie, zo was een wijnstok voor mijn aangezicht; 10En aan den wijnstok waren drie ranken; en hij was als bottende, zijn bloeisel ging op, zijn trossen brachten rijpe druiven voort. 11En Farao's beker was in mijn hand; en ik nam die druiven, en drukte ze uit in Farao's beker, en ik gaf den beker op Farao's hand. 12Toen zeide Jozef tot hem: Dit is zijn uitlegging: de drie ranken zijn drie dagen. 13Binnen nog drie dagen zal Farao uw hoofd verheffen, en zal u in uw staat herstellen; en gij zult Farao's beker in zijn hand geven, naar de vorige wijze, toen gij zijn schenker waart. 14Doch gedenk mijner bij uzelven, wanneer het u wel gaan zal, en doe toch weldadigheid aan mij, en doe van mij melding bij Farao, en maak, dat ik uit dit huis kome. 15Want ik ben diefelijk ontstolen uit het land der Hebreen; en ook heb ik hier niets gedaan, dat zij mij in dezen kuil gezet hebben. 16Toen de overste der bakkers zag, dat hij een goede uitlegging gedaan had, zo zeide hij tot Jozef: Ik was ook in mijn droom, en zie, drie getraliede korven waren op mijn hoofd. 17En in den opperste korf was van alle spijze van Farao, die bakkerswerk is; en het gevogelte at dezelve uit de korf, van boven mijn hoofd. 18Toen antwoordde Jozef, en zeide: Dit is zijn uitlegging: de drie korven zijn drie dagen. 19Binnen nog drie dagen zal Farao uw hoofd verheffen van boven u, en hij zal u aan een hout hangen, en het gevogelte zal uw vlees van boven u eten. 20En het geschiedde op den derden dag, den dag van Farao's geboorte, dat hij voor al zijn knechten een maaltijd maakte; en hij verhief het hoofd van den overste der schenkers, en het hoofd van den overste der bakkers, in het midden zijner knechten. 21En hij deed den overste der schenkers wederkeren tot zijn schenkambt, zodat hij den beker op Farao's hand gaf. 22Maar den overste der bakkers hing hij op; gelijk Jozef hun uitgelegd had. 23Doch de overste der schenkers gedacht aan Jozef niet, maar vergat hem.
