1Επί των ημερών δε του Αμαρφέλ βασιλέως Σενναάρ, του Αριώχ βασιλέως Ελλασάρ, του Χοδολλογομόρ βασιλέως Ελάμ, και του Θαργάλ βασιλέως εθνών, 2έκαμον αυτοί πόλεμον μετά του Βερά βασιλέως Σοδόμων, και του Βαρσά βασιλέως Γομόρρων, του Σενναάβ βασιλέως Αδαμά, και του Σεμοβόρ βασιλέως Σεβωείμ, και του βασιλέως της Βελά· αύτη είναι η Σηγώρ. 3Πάντες ούτοι ηνώθησαν ομού εν τη κοιλάδι Σιδδίμ ήτις είναι η αλμυρά θάλασσα. 4Δώδεκα έτη εδούλευον εις τον Χοδολλογομόρ· εν δε τω δεκάτω τρίτω απεστάτησαν. 5Και εν τω δεκάτω τετάρτω έτει ήλθεν ο Χοδολλογομόρ και οι βασιλείς οι μετ' αυτού, και επάταξαν τους Ραφαείμ εν Ασταρώθ-καρναΐμ, και τους Ζουζείμ εν Αμ, και τους Εμμαίους εν Σαυή-κιριαθαΐμ, 6και τους Χορραίους εν τω όρει αυτών Σηείρ έως της πεδιάδος Φαράν, ήτις είναι εν τη ερήμω. 7Επέστρεψαν δε και ήλθον εις την Εν-μισπάτ ήτις είναι η Κάδης· και επάταξαν πάντα τον τόπον του Αμαλήκ, και τους Αμορραίους τους κατοικούντας εν Ασασών-θαμάρ. 8Εξήλθε δε ο βασιλεύς των Σοδόμων, και ο βασιλεύς των Γομόρρων, και ο βασιλεύς της Αδαμά, και ο βασιλεύς των Σεβωείμ, και ο βασιλεύς της Βελά, ήτις είναι η Σηγώρ· και συνεκρότησαν μάχην μετ' αυτών εν τη κοιλάδι Σιδδίμ, 9μετά του Χοδολλογομόρ βασιλέως Ελάμ, και του Θαργάλ βασιλέως εθνών, και του Αμραφέλ βασιλέως Σενναάρ, και του Αριώχ βασιλέως Ελλασάρ· τέσσαρες βασιλείς προς πέντε. 10Η δε κοιλάς Σιδδίμ ήτο πλήρης φρεάτων ασφάλτου· ετράπησαν δε εις φυγήν οι βασιλείς των Σοδόμων και των Γομόρρων και έπεσον εκεί· οι δε εναπολειφθέντες έφυγον εις το όρος. 11Και έλαβον πάντα τα υπάρχοντα των Σοδόμων και των Γομόρρων και πάσαν αυτών την ζωοτροφίαν, και ανεχώρησαν. 12Έλαβον δε και τον Λωτ υιόν του αδελφού του Άβραμ, όστις κατώκει εν Σοδόμοις, και τα υπάρχοντα αυτού, και ανεχώρησαν. 13Υπήγε δε τις εκ των διασωθέντων και απήγγειλε τούτο προς τον Άβραμ τον Εβραίον, όστις κατώκει πλησίον των δρυών Μαμβρή του Αμορραίου, αδελφού του Εσχώλ, και αδελφού του Ανήρ, οίτινες ήσαν σύμμαχοι του Άβραμ. 14Ακούσας δε ο Άβραμ ότι ηχμαλωτίσθη ο αδελφός αυτού, εφώπλισε τριακοσίους δεκαοκτώ εκ των δούλων αυτού, των γεννηθέντων εν τη οικία αυτού, και κατεδίωξεν οπίσω αυτών έως Δαν. 15Και διαιρέσας τους εαυτού ώρμησε κατ' αυτών την νύκτα, αυτός και οι δούλοι αυτού, και επάταξεν αυτούς, και κατεδίωξεν αυτούς έως Χοβά ήτις είναι κατά τα αριστερά της Δαμασκού. 16Και επανέφερε πάντα τα υπάρχοντα και έτι επανέφερε Λωτ τον αδελφόν αυτού και τα υπάρχοντα αυτού, έτι δε και τας γυναίκας και τον λαόν. 17Εξήλθε δε ο βασιλεύς των Σοδόμων εις συνάντησιν αυτού, αφού επέστρεψεν από της καταστροφής του Χοδολλογομόρ και των βασιλέων των μετ' αυτού, εν τη κοιλάδι Σαυή ήτις είναι η κοιλάς του βασιλέως. 18Και ο Μελχισεδέκ βασιλεύς Σαλήμ έφερεν έξω άρτον και οίνον· ήτο δε ιερεύς του Θεού του Υψίστου. 19Και ευλόγησεν αυτόν και είπεν, Ευλογημένος ο Άβραμ παρά του Θεού του Υψίστου, όστις έκτισε τον ουρανόν και την γήν· 20και ευλογητός ο Θεός ο Ύψιστος όστις παρέδωκε τους εχθρούς σου εις την χείρα σου. Και Άβραμ έδωκεν εις αυτόν δέκατον από πάντων. 21Και είπεν ο βασιλεύς των Σοδόμων προς τον Άβραμ, Δος μοι τους ανθρώπους, τα δε υπάρχοντα λάβε εις σεαυτόν. 22Είπε δε ο Άβραμ προς τον βασιλέα των Σοδόμων, Εγώ ύψωσα την χείρα μου προς Κύριον, τον Θεόν τον Ύψιστον, όστις έκτισε τον ουρανόν και την γην, 23ότι δεν θέλω λάβει από πάντων των ιδικών σου από κλωστής έως λωρίου υποδήματος, διά να μη είπης, Εγώ επλούτισα τον Αβραμ· 24εκτός μόνον εκείνου το οποίον έφαγον οι νέοι, και της μερίδος των ανθρώπων των ελθόντων μετ' εμού, του Ανήρ του Εσχώλ και του Μαμβρή, ούτοι ας λάβωσι την μερίδα αυτών.

1In the days of Amraphel, king of Shinar, Arioch, king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer, king of Elam, and Tidal, king of Goiim, 2they made war with Bera, king of Sodom, and with Birsha, king of Gomorrah, Shinab, king of Admah, and Shemeber, king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar). 3All these joined together in the valley of Siddim (the same is the Salt Sea). 4Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year, they rebelled. 5In the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer came, and the kings who were with him, and struck the Rephaim in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh Kiriathaim, 6and the Horites in their Mount Seir, to Elparan, which is by the wilderness. 7They returned, and came to En Mishpat (the same is Kadesh), and struck all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that lived in Hazazon Tamar. 8The king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar) went out; and they set the battle in array against them in the valley of Siddim; 9against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goiim, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings against the five. 10Now the valley of Siddim was full of tar pits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and they fell there, and those who remained fled to the hills. 11They took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their food, and went their way. 12They took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who lived in Sodom, and his goods, and departed. 13One who had escaped came and told Abram, the Hebrew. Now he lived by the oaks of Mamre, the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner; and these were allies of Abram. 14When Abram heard that his relative was taken captive, he led out his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued as far as Dan. 15He divided himself against them by night, he and his servants, and struck them, and pursued them to Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus. 16He brought back all the goods, and also brought back his relative, Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people. 17The king of Sodom went out to meet him, after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, at the valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley). 18Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine: and he was priest of God Most High. 19He blessed him, and said, “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth: 20and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” Abram gave him a tenth of all. 21The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people, and take the goods for yourself.” 22Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have lifted up my hand to Yahweh, God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth, 23that I will not take a thread nor a sandal strap nor anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’ 24I will accept nothing from you except that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who went with me: Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre. Let them take their portion.”

1En het geschiedde in de dagen van Amrafel, de koning van Sinear, van Arioch, de koning van Ellasar, van Kedor-Laomer, de koning van Elam, en van Tideal, den koning der volken; 2Dat zij krijg voerden met Bera, koning van Sodom, en met Birsa, koning van Gomorra, Sinab, koning van Adama, en Semeber, koning van Zeboim, en de koning van Bela, dat is Zoar. 3Deze allen voegden zich samen in het dal Siddim, dat is de Zoutzee. 4Twaalf jaren hadden zij Kedor-Laomer gediend; maar in het dertiende jaar vielen zij af. 5Zo kwam Kedor-Laomer in het veertiende jaar, en de koningen, die met hem waren, en sloegen de Refaiten in Asteroth-Karnaim, en de Zuzieten in Ham, en de Emieten in Schave-Kiriathaim; 6En de Horieten op hun gebergte Seir, tot aan het effen veld van Paran, hetwelk aan de woestijn is. 7Daarna keerden zij wederom, en kwamen tot En-Mispat, dat is Kades, en sloegen al het land der Amalekieten, en ook den Amoriet, die te Hazezon-Thamar woonde. 8Toen toog de koning van Sodom uit, en de koning van Gomorra, en de koning van Adama, en de koning van Zeboim, en de koning van Bela, dat is Zoar; en zij stelden tegen hen slagorden in het dal Siddim, 9Tegen Kedor-Laomer, den koning van Elam, en Tideal, den koning der volken, en Amrafel, den koning van Sinear, en Arioch, den koning van Ellasar; vier koningen tegen vijf. 10Het dal nu van Siddim was vol lijmputten; en de koningen van Sodom en Gomorra vluchtten, en vielen aldaar; en de overgeblevenen vluchtten naar het gebergte. 11En zij namen al de have van Sodom en Gomorra, en al hun spijze, en trokken weg. 12Ook namen zij Lot, den zoon van Abrams broeder, en zijn have, en trokken weg; want hij woonde in Sodom. 13Toen kwam er een, die ontkomen was, en boodschapte het aan Abram, den Hebreer, die woonachtig was aan de eikenbossen van Mamre, den Amoriet, broeder van Eskol, en broeder van Aner, welke Abrams bondgenoten waren. 14Als Abram hoorde, dat zijn broeder gevangen was, zo wapende hij zijn onderwezenen, de ingeborenen van zijn huis, driehonderd en achttien, en hij jaagde hen na tot Dan toe. 15En hij verdeelde zich tegen hen des nachts, hij en zijn knechten, en sloeg ze; en hij jaagde hen na tot Hoba toe, hetwelk is ter linkerhand van Damaskus. 16En hij bracht alle have weder, en ook Lot zijn broeder en deszelfs have bracht hij weder, als ook de vrouwen, en het volk. 17En de koning van Sodom toog uit, hem tegemoet (nadat hij wedergekeerd was van het slaan van Kedor-Laomer, en van de koningen, die met hem waren), tot het dal Schave, dat is, het dal des konings. 18En Melchizedek, koning van Salem, bracht voort brood en wijn; en hij was een priester des allerhoogsten Gods. 19En hij zegende hem, en zeide: Gezegend zij Abram Gode, de Allerhoogste, Die hemel en aarde bezit! 20En gezegend zij de allerhoogste God, Die uw vijanden in uw hand geleverd heeft! En hij gaf hem de tiende van alles. 21En de koning van Sodom zeide tot Abram: Geef mij de zielen; maar neem de have voor u. 22Doch Abram zeide tot den koning van Sodom: Ik heb mijn hand opgeheven tot den HEERE, den allerhoogste God, Die hemel en aarde bezit; 23Zo ik van een draad aan tot een schoenriem toe, ja, zo ik van alles, dat het uwe is, iets neme! opdat gij niet zegt: Ik heb Abram rijk gemaakt! 24Het zij buiten mij; alleen wat de jongelingen verteerd hebben, en het deel dezer mannen, die met mij getogen zijn, Aner, Eskol en Mamre, laat die hun deel nemen!
