1Τότε έψαλεν ο Μωϋσής και οι υιοί Ισραήλ την ωδήν ταύτην προς τον Κύριον, και είπον λέγοντες, Ας ψάλλω προς τον Κύριον· διότι εδοξάσθη ενδόξως· τον ίππον και τον αναβάτην αυτού έρριψεν εις την θάλασσαν. 2Ο Κύριος είναι η δύναμίς μου και το άσμά μου, και εστάθη η σωτηρία μου· αυτός είναι Θεός μου και θέλω δοξάσει αυτόν· Θεός του πατρός μου, και θέλω υψώσει αυτόν. 3Ο Κύριος είναι δυνατός πολεμιστής· Κύριος το όνομα αυτού. 4Του Φαραώ τας αμάξας και το στράτευμα αυτού έρριψεν εις την θάλασσαν· και εκλεκτοί πολέμαρχοι αυτού κατεποντίσθησαν εν τη Ερυθρά θαλάσση. 5Αι άβυσσοι εσκέπασαν αυτούς· ως πέτρα κατεβυθίσθησαν εις τα βάθη. 6Η δεξιά σου, Κύριε, εδοξάσθη εις δύναμιν· η δεξιά σου, Κύριε, συνέτριψε τον εχθρόν. 7Και με το μέγεθος της υπεροχής σου εξωλόθρευσας τους υπεναντίους σου· εξαπέστειλας την οργήν σου και κατέφαγεν αυτούς ως καλάμην. 8Και με την πνοήν του θυμού σου τα ύδατα επεσωρεύθησαν ομού· τα κύματα εστάθησαν ως σωρός, αι άβυσσοι έπηξαν εν τω μέσω της θαλάσσης. 9Ο εχθρός είπε, Θέλω καταδιώξει, θέλω καταφθάσει, θέλω διαμοιρασθή τα λάφυρα· η ψυχή μου θέλει χορτασθή επ' αυτούς· θέλω σύρει την μάχαιράν μου, η χειρ μου θέλει αφανίσει αυτούς. 10Εφύσησας με τον άνεμόν σου και η θάλασσα εσκέπασεν αυτούς· κατεβυθίσθησαν ως μόλυβδος εις τα φοβερά ύδατα. 11Τις όμοιός σου Κύριε, μεταξύ των θεών; Τις όμοιός σου, ένδοξος εις αγιότητα, θαυμαστός εις ύμνους, ενεργών τεράστια; 12Εξέτεινας την δεξιάν σου, και η γη κατέπιεν αυτούς. 13Με το έλεός σου ώδήγησας τον λαόν τούτον, τον οποίον ελύτρωσας· ώδήγησας αυτόν με την δύναμίν σου προς την κατοικίαν της αγιότητός σου. 14Οι λαοί θέλουσιν ακούσει και φρίξει· πόνοι θέλουσι κατακυριεύσει τους κατοίκους της Παλαιστίνης. 15Τότε θέλουσιν εκπλαγή οι ηγεμόνες Εδώμ· τρόμος θέλει καταλάβει τους άρχοντας του Μωάβ· πάντες οι κάτοικοι της Χαναάν θέλουσιν αναλυθή. 16Φόβος και τρόμος θέλει επιπέσει επ' αυτούς· από του μεγέθους του βραχίονός σου θέλουσιν απολιθωθή, εωσού περάση ο λαός σου, Κύριε, εωσού περάση ο λαός ούτος, τον οποίον απέκτησας. 17Θέλεις εισαγάγει αυτούς και φυτεύσει αυτούς εις το όρος της κληρονομίας σου, τον τόπον, Κύριε, τον οποίον ητοίμασας διά κατοικίαν σου, το αγιαστήριον, Κύριε, το οποίον αι χείρες σου έστησαν. 18Ο Κύριος θέλει βασιλεύει εις τους αιώνας των αιώνων. 19Διότι εισήλθον οι ίπποι του Φαραώ εις την θάλασσαν μετά των αμαξών αυτού και μετά των ιππέων αυτού, και ο Κύριος έστρεψεν επ' αυτούς τα ύδατα της θαλάσσης· οι δε υιοί Ισραήλ επέρασαν διά ξηράς εν τω μέσω της θαλάσσης. 20Μαριάμ δε η προφήτις, η αδελφή του Ααρών έλαβε το τύμπανον εν τη χειρί αυτής και πάσαι αι γυναίκες εξήλθον κατόπιν αυτής μετά τυμπάνων και χορών. 21Και η Μαριάμ ανταπεκρίνετο προς αυτούς, λέγουσα, Ψάλλετε εις τον Κύριον· διότι εδοξάσθη ενδόξως· τον ίππον και τον αναβάτην αυτού έρριψεν εις θάλασσαν. 22Τότε εσήκωσεν ο Μωϋσής τους Ισραηλίτας από της Ερυθράς θαλάσσης, και εξήλθον εις την έρημον Σούρ· και περιεπάτουν τρεις ημέρας εν τη ερήμω και δεν εύρισκον ύδωρ. 23Και εκείθεν ήλθον εις Μερράν· δεν ηδύναντο όμως να πίωσιν εκ των υδάτων της Μερράς, διότι ήσαν πικρά· διά τούτο και επωνομάσθη Μερρά. 24Και εγόγγυζεν ο λαός κατά του Μωϋσέως, λέγων, Τι θέλομεν πίει; 25Ο δε Μωϋσής εβόησε προς τον Κύριον· και έδειξεν εις αυτόν ο Κύριος ξύλον, το οποίον ότε έρριψεν εις τα ύδατα, τα ύδατα εγλυκάνθησαν. Εκεί έδωκεν εις αυτούς παραγγελίαν και διάταγμα, και εκεί εδοκίμασεν αυτούς· 26και είπεν, Εάν ακούσης επιμελώς την φωνήν Κυρίου του Θεού σου και πράττης το αρεστόν εις τους οφθαλμούς αυτού και δώσης ακρόασιν εις τας εντολάς αυτού και φυλάξης πάντα τα προστάγματα αυτού, δεν θέλω φέρει επί σε ουδεμίαν εκ των νόσων, τας οποίας έφερα κατά των Αιγυπτίων· διότι εγώ είμαι ο Κύριος ο θεραπεύων σε. 27Έπειτα ήλθον εις Αιλείμ, όπου ήσαν δώδεκα πηγαί υδάτων και εβδομήκοντα δένδρα φοινίκων· και εκεί εστρατοπέδευσαν πλησίον των υδάτων.
1Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to Yahweh, and said, “I will sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea. 2Yah is my strength and song. He has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him; my father’s God, and I will exalt him. 3Yahweh is a man of war. Yahweh is his name. 4He has cast Pharaoh’s chariots and his army into the sea. His chosen captains are sunk in the Red Sea. 5The deeps cover them. They went down into the depths like a stone. 6Your right hand, Yahweh, is glorious in power. Your right hand, Yahweh, dashes the enemy in pieces. 7In the greatness of your excellency, you overthrow those who rise up against you. You send out your wrath. It consumes them as stubble. 8With the blast of your nostrils, the waters were piled up. The floods stood upright as a heap. The deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea. 9The enemy said, ‘I will pursue. I will overtake. I will divide the plunder. My desire shall be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.’ 10You blew with your wind. The sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters. 11Who is like you, Yahweh, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? 12You stretched out your right hand. The earth swallowed them. 13“You, in your loving kindness, have led the people that you have redeemed. You have guided them in your strength to your holy habitation. 14The peoples have heard. They tremble. Pangs have taken hold on the inhabitants of Philistia. 15Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed. Trembling takes hold of the mighty men of Moab. All the inhabitants of Canaan are melted away. 16Terror and dread falls on them. By the greatness of your arm they are as still as a stone— until your people pass over, Yahweh, until the people pass over who you have purchased. 17You shall bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, the place, Yahweh, which you have made for yourself to dwell in; the sanctuary, Lord, which your hands have established. 18Yahweh shall reign forever and ever.” 19For the horses of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and Yahweh brought back the waters of the sea on them; but the children of Israel walked on dry land in the midst of the sea. 20Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand; and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances. 21Miriam answered them, “Sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.” 22Moses led Israel onward from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water. 23When they came to Marah, they couldn’t drink from the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore its name was called Marah. 24The people murmured against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” 25Then he cried to Yahweh. Yahweh showed him a tree, and he threw it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet. There he made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there he tested them; 26and he said, “If you will diligently listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am Yahweh who heals you.” 27They came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

Uw rechterhand is verheerlijkt geworden in macht; Uw rechterhand, o HEERE! heeft den vijand verbroken! 7En door Uw grote hoogheid hebt Gij, die tegen U opstonden, omgeworpen; Gij hebt Uw brandenden toorn uitgezonden, die hen verteerd heeft als een stoppel. 8En door het geblaas van Uw neus zijn de wateren opgehoopt geworden; de stromen hebben overeind gestaan, als een hoop; de afgronden zijn stof geworden in het hart der zee. 9De vijand zeide: Ik zal vervolgen, ik zal achterhalen, ik zal den buit delen, mijn ziel zal van hen vervuld worden, ik zal mijn zwaard uittrekken, mijn hand zal hen uitroeien. 10Gij hebt met Uw wind geblazen; de zee heeft hen gedekt, zij zonken onder als lood in geweldige wateren! 11O HEERE! wie is als Gij onder de goden? wie is als Gij, verheerlijkt in heiligheid, vreselijk in lofzangen, doende wonder? 12Gij hebt Uw rechterhand uitgestrekt, de aarde heeft hen verslonden! 13Gij leiddet door Uw weldadigheid dit volk, dat Gij verlost hebt; Gij voert hen zachtkens door Uw sterkte tot de liefelijke woning Uwer heiligheid. 14De volken hebben het gehoord, zij zullen sidderen; weedom heeft de ingezetenen van Palestina bevangen. 15Dan zullen de vorsten van Edom verbaasd wezen; beving zal de machtigen der Moabieten bevangen; al de ingezetenen van Kanaan zullen versmelten! 16Verschrikking en vrees zal op hen vallen; door de grootheid van Uw arm zullen zij verstommen, als een steen, totdat Uw volk, HEERE! henen doorkome; totdat dit volk henen doorkome, dat Gij verworven hebt. 17Die zult Gij inbrengen, en planten hen op den berg Uwer erfenis, ter plaatse, welke Gij, o HEERE! gemaakt hebt tot Uw woning, het heiligdom, hetwelk Uw handen gesticht hebben, o HEERE! 18De HEERE zal in eeuwigheid en geduriglijk regeren! 19Want Farao's paard, met zijn wagen, met zijn ruiters, zijn in de zee gekomen, en de HEERE heeft de wateren der zee over hen doen wederkeren; maar de kinderen Israels zijn op het droge in het midden van de zee gegaan. 20En Mirjam, de profetes, Aarons zuster, nam een trommel in haar hand; en al de vrouwen gingen uit, haar na, met trommelen en met reien. 21Toen antwoordde Mirjam hunlieden: Zingt den HEERE; want Hij is hogelijk verheven! Aldaar stelde Hij het volk een inzetting en recht, en aldaar verzocht Hij hetzelve, 26En zeide: Is het, dat gij met ernst naar de stem des HEEREN uws Gods horen zult, en doen, wat recht is in Zijn ogen, en uw oren neigt tot Zijn geboden, en houdt al Zijn inzettingen; zo zal Ik geen van de krankheden op u leggen, die Ik op Egypteland gelegd heb; want Ik ben de HEERE, uw Heelmeester! 27Toen kwamen zij te Elim, en daar waren twaalf waterfonteinen, en zeventig palmbomen; en zij legerden zich aldaar aan de wateren.
