1Ðức Chúa Jêsus nhóm họp mười hai sứ đồ, ban quyền năng phép tắc để trị quỉ chữa bịnh. 2Rồi Ngài sai để rao giảng về nước Ðức Chúa Trời cùng chữa lành kẻ có bịnh. 3Ngài dạy rằng: Ði đường chớ đem gì theo hết, hoặc gậy, hoặc bao, hoặc bánh, hoặc tiền bạc; cũng đừng đem hai áo. 4Hễ các ngươi vào nhà nào, hãy ở đó cho đến khi đi. 5Còn ai không tiếp rước các ngươi, hãy ra khỏi thành họ, và phủi bụi chơn mình để làm chứng nghịch cùng họ. 6Vậy, các sứ đồ ra đi, từ làng nầy tới làng kia, rao giảng Tin Lành khắp nơi và chữa lành người có bịnh. 7Bấy giờ, Hê rốt là vua chư hầu, nghe nói về các việc xảy ra, thì không biết nghĩ làm sao; vì kẻ nầy nói rằng: Giăng đã từ kẻ chết sống lại; 8kẻ khác nói rằng: Ê-li đã hiện ra; và kẻ khác nữa thì rằng: Một trong các đấng tiên tri đời xưa đã sống lại. 9Song Hê-rốt thì nói: Ta đã truyền chém Giăng rồi: vậy người nầy là ai, mà ta nghe làm những việc dường ấy? Vua bèn tìm cách thấy Ðức Chúa Jêsus. 10Các sứ đồ trở về trình cùng Ðức Chúa Jêsus mọi việc mình đã làm. Ngài bèn đem các sứ đồ đi tẻ ra với mình đến gần thành kia gọi là Bết-sai-đa. 11Nhưng dân chúng nghe vậy, thì đi theo Ngài. Ðức Chúa Jêsus tiếp đãi dân chúng, giảng cho họ về nước Ðức Chúa Trời, và chữa cho những kẻ cần được lành bịnh. 12Khi gần tối, mười hai sứ đồ đến gần Ngài mà thưa rằng: Xin truyền cho dân chúng về, để họ đến các làng các ấy xung quanh mà trọ và kiếm chi ăn; vì chúng ta ở đây là nơi vắng vẻ. 13Song Ngài phán rằng: Chính các ngươi hãy cho họ ăn. Các sứ đồ thưa rằng: Ví thử chính mình chúng tôi không đi mua đồ ăn cho hết thảy dân nầy, thì chỉ có năm cái bánh và hai con cá mà thôi. 14Vả, bấy giờ có độ năm ngàn người nam ở đó. Ngài bèn phán cùng môn đồ rằng: Hãy biểu chúng ngồi từng hàng năm mươi người. 15Môn đồ làm theo lời; chúng ngồi xuống hết thảy. 16Ðoạn, Ðức Chúa Jêsus lấy năm cái bánh và hai con cá, ngước mắt lên trời, chúc tạ, rồi bẻ ra trao cho môn đồ, đặng phát cho đoàn dân. 17Ai nấy ăn no rồi, người ta thâu được mười hai giỏ đầy những miếng thừa. 18Một ngày kia, Ðức Chúa Jêsus đang cầu nguyện riêng, môn đồ nhóm lại xung quanh Ngài, Ngài hỏi rằng: Trong dân chúng, họ nói ta là ai? 19Thưa rằng: Người nầy nói là Giăng Báp-tít, người kia nói là Ê-li; kẻ khác nói là một trong các đấng tiên tri đời xưa sống lại. 20Ngài lại hỏi rằng: Còn về phần các ngươi thì nói ta là ai? Phi -e-rơ thưa rằng: Thầy là Ðấng Christ của Ðức Chúa Trời. 21Ðức Chúa Jêsus nghiêm cấm môn đồ nói sự ấy với ai, 22và phán thêm rằng: Con người phải chịu nhiều điều khốn khổ, phải bị các trưởng lão, các thầy tế lễ cả, và các thầy thông giáo bỏ ra, phải bị giết, ngày thứ ba phải sống lại. 23Ðoạn, Ngài phải cùng mọi người rằng: Nếu ai muốn theo ta, phải tự bỏ mình đi, mỗi ngày vác thập tự giá mình mà theo ta. 24Vì ai muốn cứu sự sống mình thì sẽ mất, còn ai vì cớ ta mất sự sống, thì sẽ cứu. 25Nếu ai được cả thiên hạ, mà chính mình phải mất hoặc hư đi, thì có ích gì? 26Vì nếu ai hổ thẹn về ta và lời ta, thì Con người sẽ hổ thẹn về họ, khi Ngài ngự trong sự vinh hiển của mình, của Cha, và của thiên sứ thánh mà đến. 27Quả thật, ta nói cùng các ngươi, một vài người trong các ngươi đương đứng đây sẽ không chết trước khi chưa thấy nước Ðức Chúa Trời. 28Ðộ tám ngày sau khi phán các lời đó, Ðức Chúa Jêsus đem Phi -e-rơ, Giăng và Gia-cơ đi với mình lên trên núi để cầu nguyện. 29Ðương khi cầu nguyện, diện mạo Ngài khác thường, áo Ngài trở nên sắc trắng chói lòa. 30Và nầy, có hai người nói chuyện cùng Ngài; ấy là Môi-se và Ê-li, 31hiện ra trong sự vinh hiển, và nói về sự Ngài qua đời, là sự sẽ phải ứng nghiệm tại thành Giê-ru-sa-lem. 32Phi -e-rơ cùng đồng bạn mình buồn ngủ lắm, nhưng vừa tỉnh thức ra, thấy vinh hiển của Ðức Chúa Jêsus và hai đấng ấy đứng gần Ngài. 33Lúc hai đấng ấy lìa khỏi Ðức Chúa Jêsus, Phi -e-rơ thưa Ngài rằng: Thưa thầy, chúng ta ở đây tốt lắm, hãy đóng ba trại, một cái cho thầy, một cái cho Môi-se và một cái cho Ê-li. Vì Phi -e-rơ không biết mình nói chi. 34Khi người còn đương nói, có một đám mây kéo đến, bao phủ lấy; và khi vào trong đám mây, các môn đồ đều sợ hãi. 35Bấy giờ, nghe có tiếng từ trong đám mây phán ra rằng: Nầy là Con ta, Người được lựa chọn của ta, hãy nghe Người. 36Khi tiếng ấy phát ra, thì Ðức Chúa Jêsus ở một mình. Các môn đồ nín lặng, không nói cùng ai về sự mình đã thấy. 37Bữa sau, khi Chúa cùng môn đồ từ núi xuống, có đoàn dân đông đến đón rước Ngài. 38Một người trong đám đông kêu lên rằng: Lạy thầy, xin thầy đoái đến con trai tôi, vì là con một tôi. 39Một quỉ ám nó, thình lình kêu la; quỉ vật vã nó dữ tợn, làm cho sôi bọt miếng, mình mẩy nát hết, rồi mới ra khỏi. 40Tôi đã xin môn đồ thầy đuổi quỉ đó, nhưng họ đuổi không được. 41Ðức Chúa Jêsus đáp rằng: Hỡi dòng dõi không tin và bội nghịch kia, ta ở với các ngươi và nhịn các ngươi cho đến chừng nào? Hãy đem con của ngươi lại đây. 42Ðứa con trai vừa lại gần, quỉ xô nó nhào xuống đất, và vật vã dữ tợn. Song Ðức Chúa Jêsus quở nặng tà ma, chữa lành con trẻ ấy, và giao lại cho cha nó. 43Ai nấy đều lấy làm lạ về quyền phép cao trọng của Ðức Chúa Trời. Khi mọi người đang khen lạ các việc Ðức Chúa Jêsus làm, Ngài phán cùng môn đồ rằng: 44Về phần các ngươi, hãy nghe kỹ điều ta sẽ nói cùng: Con người sẽ bị nộp trong tay người ta. 45Nhưng các môn đồ không hiểu lời ấy, vì đã che khuất cho mình để chẳng rõ nghĩa làm sao; và sợ không dám hỏi Ngài về lời ấy. 46Các môn đồ biện luận cùng nhau cho biết ai là lớn hơn hết trong hàng mình. 47Nhưng Ðức Chúa Jêsus biết ý tưởng trong lòng môn đồ, thì lấy một đứa con trẻ để gần mình, 48mà phán rằng: Hễ ai vì danh ta mà tiếp con trẻ nầy, tức là tiếp ta; còn ai tiếp ta, tức là tiếp Ðấng đã sai ta. Vì kẻ nào hèn mọn hơn hết trong vòng các ngươi, ấy chính người đó là kẻ cao trọng. 49Giăng cất tiếng nói rằng: Thưa thầy, chúng tôi từng thấy có kẻ nhơn danh thầy mà trừ quỉ; chúng tôi đã cấm họ, vì không cùng chúng tôi theo thầy. 50Nhưng Ðức Chúa Jêsus phán rằng: Ðừng cấm họ, vì ai không nghịch cùng các ngươi, là thuận với các ngươi. 51Khi gần đến kỳ Ðức Chúa Jêsus được đem lên khỏi thế gian, Ngài quyết định đi thành Giê-ru-sa-lem. 52Ngài sai kẻ đem tin đi trước mình. Họ ra đi, vào một làng của người Sa-ma-ri, để sửa soạn nhà trọ cho Ngài; 53song người Sa-ma-ri không tiếp rước Ngài, vì Ngài đi thẳng lên thành Giê-ru-sa-lem. 54Gia-cơ và Giăng là môn đồ Ngài, thấy vậy, nói rằng: Thưa Chúa, Chúa có muốn chúng tôi khiến lửa từ trên trời xuống thiêu họ chăng? 55Nhưng Ðức Chúa Jêsus xây lại quở hai người, mà rằng: Các ngươi không biết tâm thần nào xui giục mình. 56Rồi Ngài cùng môn đồ đi qua làng khác. 57Ðang khi đi đường, có kẻ thưa Ngài rằng: Chúa đi đâu tôi sẽ theo đó. 58Ðức Chúa Jêsus đáp rằng: Con cáo có hang, chim trời có ổ; song Con người không có chỗ mà gối đầu. 59Ngài phán cùng kẻ khác rằng: Ngươi hãy theo ta. Kẻ ấy thưa rằng: Xin cho phép tôi đi chôn cha tôi trước đã. 60Nhưng Ðức Chúa Jêsus phán rằng: Hãy để kẻ chết chôn kẻ chết; còn ngươi, hãy đi rao giảng nước Ðức Chúa Trời. 61Có kẻ khác nữa thưa rằng: Lạy Chúa, tôi sẽ theo Chúa, song xin cho phép tôi trước về từ giã người trong nhà tôi. 62Ðức Chúa Jêsus phán rằng: Ai đã tra tay cầm cày, còn ngó lại đằng sau, thì không xứng đáng với nước Ðức Chúa Trời.
1He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. 2He sent them out to preach the Kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. 3He said to them, “Take nothing for your journey—neither staffs, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money; neither have two coats apiece. 4Into whatever house you enter, stay there, and depart from there. 5As many as don’t receive you, when you depart from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them.” 6They departed, and went throughout the villages, preaching the Good News, and healing everywhere. 7Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him; and he was very perplexed, because it was said by some that John had risen from the dead, 8and by some that Elijah had appeared, and by others that one of the old prophets had risen again. 9Herod said, “John I beheaded, but who is this, about whom I hear such things?” He sought to see him. 10The apostles, when they had returned, told him what things they had done. He took them, and withdrew apart to a deserted place of a city called Bethsaida. 11But the multitudes, perceiving it, followed him. He welcomed them, and spoke to them of the Kingdom of God, and he cured those who needed healing. 12The day began to wear away; and the twelve came, and said to him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms, and lodge, and get food, for we are here in a deserted place.” 13But he said to them, “You give them something to eat.” They said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we should go and buy food for all these people.” 14For they were about five thousand men. He said to his disciples, “Make them sit down in groups of about fifty each.” 15They did so, and made them all sit down. 16He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to the sky, he blessed them, and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. 17They ate, and were all filled. They gathered up twelve baskets of broken pieces that were left over. 18As he was praying alone, the disciples were with him, and he asked them, “Who do the multitudes say that I am?” 19They answered, “‘John the Baptizer,’ but others say, ‘Elijah,’ and others, that one of the old prophets is risen again.” 20He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “The Christ of God.” 21But he warned them, and commanded them to tell this to no one, 22saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.” 23He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross,and follow me. 24For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it. 25For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self? 26For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed, when he comes in his glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels. 27But I tell you the truth: There are some of those who stand here, who will in no way taste of death, until they see the Kingdom of God.” 28About eight days after these sayings, he took with him Peter, John, and James, and went up onto the mountain to pray. 29As he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became white and dazzling. 30Behold, two men were talking with him, who were Moses and Elijah, 31who appeared in glory, and spoke of his departure, which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. 32Now Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men who stood with him. 33As they were parting from him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let’s make three tents: one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah,” not knowing what he said. 34While he said these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered into the cloud. 35A voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him!” 36When the voice came, Jesus was found alone. They were silent, and told no one in those days any of the things which they had seen. 37On the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a great multitude met him. 38Behold, a man from the crowd called out, saying, “Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only child. 39Behold, a spirit takes him, he suddenly cries out, and it convulses him so that he foams, and it hardly departs from him, bruising him severely. 40I begged your disciples to cast it out, and they couldn’t.” 41Jesus answered, “Faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here.” 42While he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him violently. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father. 43They were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marveling at all the things which Jesus did, he said to his disciples, 44“Let these words sink into your ears, for the Son of Man will be delivered up into the hands of men.” 45But they didn’t understand this saying. It was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying. 46There arose an argument among them about which of them was the greatest. 47Jesus, perceiving the reasoning of their hearts, took a little child, and set him by his side, 48and said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in my name receives me. Whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For whoever is least among you all, this one will be great.” 49John answered, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he doesn’t follow with us.” 50Jesus said to him, “Don’t forbid him, for he who is not against us is for us.” 51It came to pass, when the days were near that he should be taken up, he intently set his face to go to Jerusalem, 52and sent messengers before his face. They went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, so as to prepare for him. 53They didn’t receive him, because he was traveling with his face set towards Jerusalem. 54When his disciples, James and John, saw this, they said, “Lord, do you want us to command fire to come down from the sky, and destroy them, just as Elijah did?” 55But he turned and rebuked them, “You don’t know of what kind of spirit you are. 56For the Son of Man didn’t come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.” They went to another village. 57As they went on the way, a certain man said to him, “I want to follow you wherever you go, Lord.” 58Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” 59He said to another, “Follow me!” But he said, “Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.” 60But Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but you go and announce the Kingdom of God.” 61Another also said, “I want to follow you, Lord, but first allow me to say good-bye to those who are at my house.” 62But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God.”
1En Zijn twaalf discipelen samengeroepen hebbende, gaf Hij hun kracht en macht over al de duivelen, en om ziekten te genezen. 2En Hij zond hen heen, om te prediken het Koninkrijk Gods, en de kranken gezond te maken. 3En Hij zeide tot hen: Neemt niets mede tot den weg, noch staven, noch male, noch brood, noch geld; noch iemand van u zal twee rokken hebben. 4En in wat huis gij ook zult ingaan, blijft aldaar, en gaat van daar uit. 5En zo wie u niet zullen ontvangen, uitgaande van die stad, schudt ook het stof af van uw voeten, tot een getuigenis tegen hen. 6En zij, uitgaande, doorgingen al de vlekken, verkondigende het Evangelie, en genezende de zieken overal. 7En Herodes, de viervorst, hoorde al de dingen, die van Hem geschiedden; en was twijfelmoedig, omdat van sommigen gezegd werd, dat Johannes van de doden was opgestaan; 8En van sommigen, dat Elias verschenen was; en van anderen, dat een profeet van de ouden was opgestaan. 9En Herodes zeide: Johannes heb ik onthoofd; wie is nu Deze, van Welken ik zulke dingen hoor? En hij zocht Hem te zien. 10En de apostelen, wedergekeerd zijnde, verhaalden Hem al wat zij gedaan hadden. En zij zeiden: Wij hebben niet meer dan vijf broden, en twee vissen; tenzij dan dat wij heengaan en spijs kopen voor al dit volk; 14Want er waren omtrent vijf duizend mannen. Doch Hij zeide tot Zijn discipelen: Doet hen nederzitten bij zaten, elk van vijftig. 15En zij deden alzo, en deden hen allen nederzitten. 16En Hij, de vijf broden en de twee vissen genomen hebbende, zag op naar den hemel, en zegende die, en brak ze, en gaf ze den discipelen, om der schare voor te leggen. 17En zij aten en werden allen verzadigd; en er werd opgenomen, hetgeen hun van de brokken overgeschoten was, twaalf korven. 18En het geschiedde, als Hij alleen was biddende, dat de discipelen met Hem waren, en Hij vraagde hen, zeggende: Wie zeggen de scharen, dat Ik ben? 19En zij, antwoordende, zeiden: Johannes de Doper; en anderen: Elias; en anderen: Dat enig profeet van de ouden opgestaan is. 20En Hij zeide tot hen: Maar gijlieden, wie zegt gij, dat Ik ben? En Petrus, antwoordende, zeide: De Christus Gods. 21En Hij gebood hun scherpelijk en beval, dat zij dit niemand zeggen zouden; 22Zeggende: De Zoon des mensen moet veel lijden, en verworpen worden van de ouderlingen, en overpriesters, en Schriftgeleerden, en gedood en ten derden dage opgewekt worden. 23En Hij zeide tot allen: Zo iemand achter Mij wil komen, die verloochene zichzelven, en neme zijn kruis dagelijks op, en volge Mij. 24Want zo wie zijn leven behouden wil, die zal het verliezen; maar zo wie zijn leven verliezen zal, om Mijnentwil, die zal het behouden. 25Want wat baat het een mens, die de gehele wereld zou winnen, en zichzelven verliezen, of schade zijns zelfs lijden? 26Want zo wie zich Mijns en Mijner woorden zal geschaamd hebben, diens zal de Zoon des mensen Zich schamen, wanneer Hij komen zal in Zijn heerlijkheid, en in de heerlijkheid des Vaders, en der heilige engelen. 27En Ik zeg u waarlijk: Er zijn sommigen dergenen, die hier staan, die den dood niet zullen smaken, totdat zij het Koninkrijk Gods zullen gezien hebben. 28En het geschiedde, omtrent acht dagen na deze woorden, dat Hij medenam Petrus, en Johannes, en Jakobus, en klom op den berg, om te bidden. 29En als Hij bad, werd de gedaante Zijns aangezichts veranderd, en Zijn kleding wit en zeer blinkende. 30En ziet, twee mannen spraken met Hem, welke waren Mozes en Elias. 31Dewelke, gezien zijnde in heerlijkheid, zeiden Zijn uitgang, dien Hij zoude volbrengen te Jeruzalem. 32Petrus nu, en die met hem waren, waren met slaap bezwaard; en ontwaakt zijnde, zagen zij Zijn heerlijkheid, en de twee mannen, die bij Hem stonden. 33En het geschiedde, als zij van Hem afscheidden, zo zeide Petrus tot Jezus: Meester, het is goed, dat wij hier zijn; en laat ons drie tabernakelen maken, voor U een, en voor Mozes een, en voor Elias een; niet wetende, wat hij zeide. 34Als hij nu dit zeide, kwam een wolk, en overschaduwde hen; en zij werden bevreesd, als die in de wolk ingingen. 35En er geschiedde een stem uit de wolk, zeggende: Deze is Mijn geliefde Zoon; hoort Hem! 36En als de stem geschiedde, zo werd Jezus alleen gevonden. En zij zwegen stil, en verhaalden in die dagen niemand iets van hetgeen zij gezien hadden. 37En het geschiedde des daags daaraan, als zij van den berg afkwamen, dat Hem een grote schare in het gemoet kwam. 38En ziet, een man van de schare riep uit, zeggende: Meester, ik bid U, zie toch mijn zoon aan; want hij is mij een eniggeborene. 39En zie, een geest neemt hem, en van stonde aan roept hij, en hij scheurt hem, dat hij schuimt, en wijkt nauwelijks van hem, en verplettert hem. 40En ik heb Uw discipelen gebeden, dat zij hem zouden uitwerpen, en zij hebben niet gekund. 41En Jezus, antwoordende, zeide: O ongelovig en verkeerd geslacht, hoe lang zal Ik nog bij ulieden zijn, en ulieden verdragen? Breng uw zoon hier. 42En nog, als hij naar Hem toekwam, scheurde hem de duivel, en verscheurde hem; maar Jezus bestrafte den onreinen geest, en maakte het kind gezond, en gaf hem zijn vader weder. 43En zij werden allen verslagen over de grootdadigheid Gods. En als zij allen zich verwonderden over al de dingen, die Jezus gedaan had, zeide Hij tot Zijn discipelen: 44Legt gij deze woorden in uw oren: Want de Zoon des mensen zal overgeleverd worden in der mensen handen. 45Maar zij verstonden dit woord niet, en het was voor hen verborgen, alzo dat zij het niet begrepen; en zij vreesden van dat woord Hem te vragen. 46En er rees een overlegging onder hen, namelijk, wie van hen de meeste ware. 47Maar Jezus, ziende de overleggingen hunner harten, nam een kindeken, en stelde dat bij Zich; 48En zeide tot hen: Zo wie dit kindeken ontvangen zal in Mijn Naam, die ontvangt Mij; en zo wie Mij ontvangen zal, ontvangt Hem, Die Mij gezonden heeft. Want die de minste onder u allen is, die zal groot zijn. 49En Johannes antwoordde en zeide: Meester! wij hebben een gezien, die in Uw Naam de duivelen uitwierp, en wij hebben het hem verboden, omdat hij U met ons niet volgt. 50En Jezus zeide tot hem: Verbied het niet; want wie tegen ons niet is, die is voor ons. 51En het geschiedde, als de dagen Zijner opneming vervuld werden, zo richtte Hij Zijn aangezicht, om naar Jeruzalem te reizen. 52En Hij zond boden uit voor Zijn aangezicht; en zij, heengereisd zijnde, kwamen in een vlek der Samaritanen, om voor Hem herberg te bereiden. 53En zij ontvingen Hem niet, omdat Zijn aangezicht was als reizende naar Jeruzalem. 54Als nu Zijn discipelen, Jakobus en Johannes, dat zagen, zeiden zij: Heere, wilt Gij, dat wij zeggen, dat vuur van den hemel nederdale, en dezen verslinde, gelijk ook Elias gedaan heeft? 55Maar Zich omkerende, bestrafte Hij hen, en zeide: Gij weet niet van hoedanigen geest gij zijt. 56Want de Zoon des mensen is niet gekomen om der mensen zielen te verderven, maar om te behouden. En zij gingen naar een ander vlek. 57En het geschiedde op den weg, als zij reisden, dat een tot Hem zeide: Heere, ik zal U volgen, waar Gij ook heengaat. 58En Jezus zeide tot hem: De vossen hebben holen, en de vogelen des hemels nesten; maar de Zoon des mensen heeft niet, waar Hij het hoofd nederlegge. 59En Hij zeide tot een anderen: Volg Mij. Doch hij zeide: Heere, laat mij toe, dat ik heenga, en eerst mijn vader begrave. 60Maar Jezus zeide tot hem: Laat de doden hun doden begraven; doch gij, ga heen en verkondig het Koninkrijk Gods. 61En ook een ander zeide: Heere, ik zal U volgen; maar laat mij eerst toe, dat ik afscheid neme van degenen, die in mijn huis zijn. 62En Jezus zeide tot hem: Niemand, die zijn hand aan den ploeg slaat, en ziet naar hetgeen achter is, is bekwaam tot het Koninkrijk Gods.
