1Ðức Chúa Jêsus vào thành Giê-ri-cô, đi ngang qua phố. 2Tại đó, có một người tên là Xa-chê, làm đầu bọn thâu thuế, và giàu có. 3Người đó tìm xem Ðức Chúa Jêsus là ai, nhưng không thấy được, vì đoàn dân đông lắm, mà mình lại thấp. 4Vậy, Xa-chê chạy trước, trèo lên cây sung, để ngó thấy Ðức Chúa Jêsus, vì Ngài phải đi qua đó. 5Ðức Chúa Jêsus đến chỗ ấy, ngước mắt lên mà phán rằng: Hỡi Xa-chê, hãy xuống cho mau, vì hôm nay ta phải ở nhà ngươi. 6Xa-chê vội vàng xuống và mừng rước Ngài. 7Ai nấy thấy vậy, đều lằm bằm rằng: Người nầy vào nhà kẻ có tội mà trọ! 8Song Xa-chê đứng trước mặt Chúa, thưa rằng: Lạy Chúa, nầy, tôi lấy nửa gia tài mình mà cho kẻ nghèo, và nếu có làm thiệt hại ai, bất kỳ việc gì, tôi sẽ đền gấp tư. 9Ðức Chúa Jêsus bèn phán rằng: Hôm nay sự cứu đã vào nhà nầy, vì người nầy cũng là con cháu Áp-ra-ham. 10Bởi Con người đã đến tìm và cứu kẻ bị mất. 11Họ nghe những lời ấy, thì Ðức Chúa Jêsus thêm một thí dụ nữa, vì Ngài gần đến thành Giê-ru-sa-lem, và người ta tưởng rằng nước Ðức Chúa Trời sẽ hiện ra ngay. 12Vậy, Ngài phán rằng: Có một vị thế tử đi phương xa, đặng chịu phong chức làm vua rồi trở về; 13bèn gọi mười người trong đám đầy tớ mình, giao cho mười nén bạc, và dạy rằng: Hãy dùng bạc nầy sanh lời cho đến khi ta trở về. 14Song dân xứ ấy ghét người, thì sai sứ theo đặng nói rằng: Chúng tôi không muốn người nầy cai trị chúng tôi! 15Khi người đã chịu phong chức làm vua rồi, trở về, đòi các đầy tớ đã lãnh bạc đến, đặng cho biết mỗi người làm lợi được bao nhiêu. 16Ðầy tớ thứ nhứt đến trình rằng: Lạy Chúa, nén bạn của chúa sanh lợi được mười nén. 17Chủ rằng: Hỡi đầy tớ ngay lành kia, được lắm; vì ngươi trung tín trong sự nhỏ mọn, ngươi sẽ được cai trị mười thành. 18Người thứ hai đến thưa rằng: Lạy chúa, nén bạc của Chúa sanh lợi ra được năm nén. 19Chủ rằng: Ngươi được cai trị năm thành. 20Người khác đến thưa rằng: Lạy chúa, đây nầy, nén bạc của chúa tôi đã gói giữ trong khăn; 21bởi tôi sợ chúa, vì chúa là người nghiêm nhặt, hay lấy trong nơi không để, gặt trong chỗ không gieo. 22Chủ rằng: Hỡi đầy tớ ngoan ác kia, ta cứ lời ngươi nói ra mà xét ngươi. Ngươi biết ta là người nghiêm nhặt, hay lấy trong chỗ không để, gặt trong chỗ không gieo; 23cớ sao ngươi không giao bạc ta cho hàng bạc? Khi ta về, sẽ lấy lại vốn và lời. 24Chủ lại nói cùng các ngươi đứng đó rằng: Hãy lấy nén bạc nó đi, cho người có mười nén. 25Họ bèn thưa rằng: Lạy chúa, người ấy có mười nén rồi. 26Ta nói cùng các ngươi, ai có, thì sẽ cho thêm; song ai không có, thì sẽ cất luôn của họ đã có nữa. 27Còn như những kẻ nghịch cùng ta, không muốn ta cai trị họ, hãy kéo họ đến đây, và chém đi trước mặt ta. 28Sau khi Ðức Chúa Jêsus phán điều đó, thì đi trước mặt dân chúng lên thành Giê-ru-sa-lem. 29Ðức Chúa Jêsus gần đến thành Bê-pha-giê và Bê-tha-ni, ngang núi gọi là ô-li-ve, sai hai môn đồ đi, 30và dặn rằng: Hãy đi đến làng trước mặt các ngươi; khi vào làng, sẽ thấy một lừa con buộc đó, chưa hề có ai cỡi; hãy mở và dắt về cho ta. 31Hoặc có ai hỏi sao các ngươi mở nó ra, hãy trả lời rằng: Chúa cần dùng lừa nầy. 32Hai người được sai ra đi, quả gặp mọi điều y như Ðức Chúa Jêsus đã phán. 33Ðang mở lừa con, các chủ lừa hỏi rằng: Sao mở lừa con nầy ra: 34Hai người trả lời rằng: Chúa cần dùng nó. 35Hai người bèn dắt lừa về cho Ðức Chúa Jêsus; rồi lấy áo mình trải trên con lừa, nâng Ngài lên cỡi. 36Khi Ðức Chúa Jêsus đang đi tới, có nhiều kẻ trải áo trên đường. 37Lúc đến gần dốc núi ô-li-ve, cả đám môn đồ lấy làm mừng rỡ, và cả tiếng ngợi khen Ðức Chúa Trời về những phép lạ mình đã thấy, 38mà nói rằng: Ðáng ngợi khen Vua nhơn danh Chúa mà đến! Bình an ở trên trời, và vinh hiển trên các nơi rất cao! 39Bấy giờ, có mấy người Pha-ri-si ở trong đám dân đông nói cùng Ngài rằng: Thưa thầy, xin quở trách môn đồ thầy! 40Ngài đáp rằng: Ta phán cùng các ngươi, nếu họ nín lặng thì đá sẽ kêu lên. 41Khi Ðức Chúa Jêsus gần đến thành, thấy thì khóc về thành, và phán rằng: 42Ước gì, ít nữa ngày nay, mầy đã hiểu biết sự làm cho mầy được bình an! Song hiện nay những sự ấy kín giấu nơi mắt mầy. 43Vì sẽ có ngày xảy đến cho mầy, khi quân nghịch đào hố xung quanh mầy, vây mầy chặt bốn bề. 44Họ sẽ hủy hết thảy, mầy và con cái ở giữa mầy nữa. Không để cho mầy hòn đá nầy trên hòn đá kia, vì mầy không biết lúc mình đã được thăm viếng. 45Ðức Chúa Jêsus vào đền thờ rồi, bèn đuổi những kẻ bán ở đó ra, 46mà phán rằng: Có lời chép rằng: Nhà ta sẽ là nhà cầu nguyện; song các ngươi làm thành ra một cái hang trộm cướp. 47Hằng ngày Ngài giảng dạy trong đền thờ. Các thầy tế lễ cả, các thầy thông giáo, cùng người tôn trưởng trong dân tìm phương giết Ngài; 48nhưng họ không biết dùng chước chi, vì dân sự đều chăm chỉ mà nghe Ngài nói.
1He entered and was passing through Jericho. 2There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. 3He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short. 4He ran on ahead, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was to pass that way. 5When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” 6He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully. 7When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.” 8Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.” 9Jesus said to him, “Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham. 10For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.” 11As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that the Kingdom of God would be revealed immediately. 12He said therefore, “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. 13He called ten servants of his, and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, ‘Conduct business until I come.’ 14But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, ‘We don’t want this man to reign over us.’ 15“When he had come back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business. 16The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’ 17“He said to him, ‘Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’ 18“The second came, saying, ‘Your mina, Lord, has made five minas.’ 19“So he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’ 20Another came, saying, ‘Lord, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief, 21for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which you didn’t lay down, and reap that which you didn’t sow.’ 22“He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth will I judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down, and reaping that which I didn’t sow. 23Then why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?’ 24He said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina away from him, and give it to him who has the ten minas.’ 25“They said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’ 26‘For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him. 27But bring those enemies of mine who didn’t want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.’” 28Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. 29When he drew near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mountain that is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples, 30saying, “Go your way into the village on the other side, in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, whereon no man ever yet sat. Untie it, and bring it. 31If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say to him: ‘The Lord needs it.’” 32Those who were sent went away, and found things just as he had told them. 33As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?” 34They said, “The Lord needs it.” 35They brought it to Jesus. They threw their cloaks on the colt, and set Jesus on them. 36As he went, they spread their cloaks on the road. 37As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen, 38saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!” 39Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” 40He answered them, “I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out.” 41When he drew near, he saw the city and wept over it, 42saying, “If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes. 43For the days will come on you, when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side, 44and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you didn’t know the time of your visitation.” 45He entered into the temple, and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it, 46saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of robbers’!” 47He was teaching daily in the temple, but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people sought to destroy him. 48They couldn’t find what they might do, for all the people hung on to every word that he said.

Gij wist, dat ik een straf mens ben, nemende weg, wat ik niet gelegd heb, en maaiende, wat ik niet gezaaid heb. 23Waarom hebt gij dan mijn geld niet in de bank gegeven, en ik, komende, had hetzelve met woeker mogen eisen? 24En hij zeide tot degenen, die bij hem stonden: Neemt dat pond van hem weg, en geeft het dien, die de tien ponden heeft. 25En zij zeiden tot hem: Heer, hij heeft tien ponden. 26Want ik zeg u, dat een iegelijk, die heeft, zal gegeven worden; maar van degene, die niet heeft, van dien zal genomen worden ook wat hij heeft. 27Doch deze mijn vijanden, die niet hebben gewild, dat ik over hen koning zoude zijn, brengt ze hier, en slaat ze hier voor mij dood. 28En dit gezegd hebbende, reisde Hij voor hen heen, en ging op naar Jeruzalem. 29En het geschiedde, als Hij nabij Beth-fage en Bethanie gekomen was, aan den berg, genaamd den Olijfberg, dat Hij twee van Zijn discipelen uitzond, 30Zeggende: Gaat henen in dat vlek, dat tegenover is; in hetwelk inkomende, zult gij een veulen gebonden vinden, waarop geen mens ooit heeft gezeten; ontbindt hetzelve, en brengt het. 31En indien iemand u vraagt: Waarom ontbindt gij dat, zo zult gij alzo tot hem zeggen: Omdat het de Heere van node heeft. 32En die uitgezonden waren, heengegaan zijnde, vonden het, gelijk Hij hun gezegd had. 33En als zij het veulen ontbonden, zeiden de heren van hetzelve tot hen: Waarom ontbindt gij het veulen? 34En zij zeiden: De Heere heeft het van node. 35En zij brachten hetzelve tot Jezus. En hun klederen op het veulen geworpen hebbende, zetten zij Jezus daarop. 36En als Hij voort reisde, spreidden zij hun klederen onder Hem op den weg. 37En als Hij nu genaakte aan den afgang des Olijfbergs, begon al de menigte der discipelen zich te verblijden, en God te loven met grote stemme, vanwege al de krachtige daden, die zij gezien hadden; 38Zeggende: Gezegend is de Koning, Die daar komt in den Naam des Heeren! Vrede zij in den hemel, en heerlijkheid in de hoogste plaatsen! 39En sommigen der Farizeen uit de schare zeiden tot Hem: Meester, bestraf Uw discipelen. 40En Hij, antwoordende, zeide tot hen: Ik zeg ulieden, dat, zo deze zwijgen, de stenen haast roepen zullen. 41En als Hij nabij kwam, en de stad zag, weende Hij over haar, 42Zeggende: Och, of gij ook bekendet, ook nog in dezen uw dag, hetgeen tot uw vrede dient! Maar nu is het verborgen voor uw ogen. 43Want er zullen dagen over u komen, dat uw vijanden een begraving rondom u zullen opwerpen, en zullen u omsingelen, en u van alle zijden benauwen; 44En zullen u tot den grond nederwerpen, en uw kinderen in u; en zij zullen in u den enen steen op den anderen steen niet laten; daarom dat gij den tijd uwer bezoeking niet bekend hebt. 45En gegaan zijnde in den tempel, begon Hij uit te drijven degenen, die daarin verkochten en kochten, 46Zeggende tot hen: Er is geschreven: Mijn huis is een huis des gebeds; maar gij hebt dat tot een kuil der moordenaren gemaakt. 47En Hij leerde dagelijks in den tempel; en de overpriesters, en de Schriftgeleerden, en de oversten des volks zochten Hem te doden. 48En zij vonden niet, wat zij doen zouden; want al het volk hing Hem aan, en hoorde Hem.
