Questi erano sacerdoti. 9Leviti: Jeshua, figliuolo di Azania, Binnui de’ figliuoli di Henadad, Kadmiel, 10e i loro fratelli Scebania, Hodia, 11Kelita, Pelaia, Hanan, Mica, 12Rehob, Hashabia, Zaccur, Scerebia, 13Scebania, Hodia, Bani, Beninu. 14Capi del popolo: Parosh, Pahath-Moab, Elam, Zattu, Bani, 15Bunni, Azgad, 16Bebai, Adonia, Bigvai, Adin, 17Ater, Ezechia, Azzur, 18Hodia, Hashum, 19Betsai, Harif, Anatoth, 20Nebai, Magpiash, Meshullam, 21Hezir, Mescezabeel, Tsadok, 22Jaddua, Pelatia, Hanan, Anaia, 23Hosea, Hanania, Hasshub, 24Hallohesh, Pilha, Shobek, 25Rehum, Hashabna, Maaseia, 26Ahiah, Hanan, Anan, 27Malluc, Harim, Baana. 28Il resto del popolo, i sacerdoti, i Leviti, i portinai, i cantori, i Nethinei e tutti quelli che s’eran separati dai popoli dei paesi stranieri per aderire alla legge di Dio, le loro mogli, i loro figliuoli e le loro figliuole, tutti quelli che aveano conoscimento e intelligenza, 29s’unirono ai loro fratelli più ragguardevoli tra loro, e s’impegnarono con esecrazione e giuramento a camminare nella legge di Dio data per mezzo di Mosè servo di Dio, ad osservare e mettere in pratica tutti i comandamenti dell’Eterno, del Signor nostro, le sue prescrizioni e le sue leggi, 30a non dare le nostre figliuole ai popoli del paese e a non prendere le figliuole loro per i nostri figliuoli, 31a non comprar nulla in giorno di sabato o in altro giorno sacro, dai popoli che portassero a vendere in giorno di sabato qualsivoglia sorta di merci o di derrate, a lasciare in riposo la terra ogni settimo anno, e a non esigere il pagamento di verun debito. 32C’imponemmo pure per legge di dare ogni anno il terzo d’un siclo per il servizio della casa del nostro Dio, 33per i pani della presentazione, per l’oblazione perpetua, per l’olocausto perpetuo dei sabati, dei noviluni, delle feste, per le cose consacrate, per i sacrifizi d’espiazione a pro d’Israele, e per tutta l’opera della casa del nostro Dio; 34e tirando a sorte, noi sacerdoti, Leviti e popolo, regolammo quel che concerne l’offerta delle legna, affin di portarle, secondo le nostre case patriarcali alla casa del nostro Dio, a tempi fissi, anno per anno, perché bruciassero sull’altare dell’Eterno, del nostro Dio, come sta scritto nella legge; 35e c’impegnammo a portare ogni anno nella casa dell’Eterno le primizie del nostro suolo e le primizie d’ogni frutto di qualunque albero, 36come anche i primogeniti de’ nostri figliuoli e del nostro bestiame conforme sta scritto nella legge, e i primogeniti delle nostre mandre e de’ nostri greggi per presentarli nella casa del nostro Dio ai sacerdoti che fanno il servizio nella casa del nostro Dio. 37E c’impegnammo pure di portare ai sacerdoti nelle camere della casa del nostro Dio, le primizie della nostra pasta, le nostre offerte prelevate, le primizie de’ frutti di qualunque albero, del vino e dell’olio, di dare la decima delle rendite del nostro suolo ai Leviti, i quali debbon prendere essi stessi queste decime in tutti i luoghi da noi coltivati. 38E un sacerdote, figliuolo d’Aaronne, sarà coi Leviti quando preleveranno le decime; e i Leviti porteranno la decima della decima alla casa del nostro Dio nelle stanze che servono di magazzino, 39poiché in quelle stanze i figliuoli d’Israele e i figliuoli di Levi debbon portare l’offerta prelevata sul frumento, sul vino e sull’olio; quivi sono gli utensili del santuario, i sacerdoti che fanno il servizio, i portinai e i cantori. Noi c’impegnammo così a non abbandonare la casa del nostro Dio.
1Now those who sealed were: Nehemiah the governor, the son of Hacaliah, and Zedekiah, 2Seraiah, Azariah, Jeremiah, 3Pashhur, Amariah, Malchijah, 4Hattush, Shebaniah, Malluch, 5Harim, Meremoth, Obadiah, 6Daniel, Ginnethon, Baruch, 7Meshullam, Abijah, Mijamin, 8Maaziah, Bilgai, Shemaiah; these were the priests. 9The Levites: namely, Jeshua the son of Azaniah, Binnui of the sons of Henadad, Kadmiel; 10and their brothers, Shebaniah, Hodiah, Kelita, Pelaiah, Hanan, 11Mica, Rehob, Hashabiah, 12Zaccur, Sherebiah, Shebaniah, 13Hodiah, Bani, Beninu. 14The chiefs of the people: Parosh, Pahathmoab, Elam, Zattu, Bani, 15Bunni, Azgad, Bebai, 16Adonijah, Bigvai, Adin, 17Ater, Hezekiah, Azzur, 18Hodiah, Hashum, Bezai, 19Hariph, Anathoth, Nobai, 20Magpiash, Meshullam, Hezir, 21Meshezabel, Zadok, Jaddua, 22Pelatiah, Hanan, Anaiah, 23Hoshea, Hananiah, Hasshub, 24Hallohesh, Pilha, Shobek, 25Rehum, Hashabnah, Maaseiah, 26and Ahiah, Hanan, Anan, 27Malluch, Harim, Baanah. 28The rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the porters, the singers, the Nethinim, and all those who had separated themselves from the peoples of the lands to the law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, everyone who had knowledge, and understanding— 29they joined with their brothers, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God’s law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of Yahweh our Lord, and his ordinances and his statutes; 30and that we would not give our daughters to the peoples of the land, nor take their daughters for our sons; 31and if the peoples of the land bring wares or any grain on the Sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy of them on the Sabbath, or on a holy day; and that we would forego the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt. 32Also we made ordinances for ourselves, to charge ourselves yearly with the third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God; 33for the show bread, and for the continual meal offering, and for the continual burnt offering, for the Sabbaths, for the new moons, for the set feasts, and for the holy things, and for the sin offerings to make atonement for Israel, and for all the work of the house of our God. 34We cast lots, the priests, the Levites, and the people, for the wood offering, to bring it into the house of our God, according to our fathers’ houses, at times appointed, year by year, to burn on the altar of Yahweh our God, as it is written in the law; 35and to bring the first fruits of our ground, and the first fruits of all fruit of all kinds of trees, year by year, to Yahweh’s house; 36also the firstborn of our sons, and of our livestock, as it is written in the law, and the firstborn of our herds and of our flocks, to bring to the house of our God, to the priests who minister in the house of our God; 37and that we should bring the first fruits of our dough, and our wave offerings, and the fruit of all kinds of trees, the new wine and the oil, to the priests, to the rooms of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground to the Levites; for they, the Levites, take the tithes in all the cities of our tillage. 38The priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes to the house of our God, to the rooms, into the treasure house. 39For the children of Israel and the children of Levi shall bring the wave offering of the grain, of the new wine, and of the oil, to the rooms, where are the vessels of the sanctuary, and the priests who minister, and the porters, and the singers. We will not forsake the house of our God.

Dit waren de priesters. 9En de Levieten, namelijk: Jesua, zoon van Azanja, Binnui; van de zonen van Henadad, Kadmiel; 10En hun broederen: Sebanja, Hodia, Kelita, Pelaja, Hanan, 11Micha, Rehob, Hasabja, 12Zakkur, Serebja, Sebanja, 13Hodia, Bani, Beninu; 14De hoofden des volks: Parhos, Pahath-Moab, Elam, Zatthu, Bani, 15Bunni, Azgad, Bebai, 16Adonia, Bigvai, Adin, 17Ater, Hizkia, Azzur, 18Hodia, Hasum, Bezai, 19Harif, Anathoth, Nebai, 20Magpias, Mesullam, Hezir, 21Mesezabeel, Zadok, Jaddua, 22Pelatja, Hanan, Anaja, 23Hosea, Hananja, Hassub, 24Hallohes, Pilha, Sobek, 25Rehum, Hasabna, Maaseja, 26En Ahia, Hanan, Anan, 27Malluch, Harim, Baana. 28En het overige des volks, de priesteren, de Levieten, de poortiers, de zangers, de Nethinim, en al wie zich van de volken der landen had afgescheiden tot Gods wet, hun vrouwen, hun zonen en hun dochteren, al wie wetenschap en verstand had; 29Die hielden zich aan hun broederen, hun voortreffelijken, en kwamen in den vloek en in den eed, dat zij zouden wandelen in de wet Gods, die gegeven is door de hand van den knecht Gods, Mozes; en dat zij zouden houden, en dat zij zouden doen al de geboden des HEEREN, onzes Heeren, en Zijn rechten en Zijn inzettingen; 30En dat wij onze dochteren niet zouden geven aan de volken des lands, noch hun dochteren nemen voor onze zonen. 31Ook als de volken des lands waren en alle koren op den sabbatdag ten verkoop brengen, dat wij op den sabbat, of op een anderen heiligen dag van hen niet zouden nemen; en dat wij het zevende jaar zouden vrij laten, mitsgaders allerhande bezwaarnis. 32Voorts zetten wij ons geboden op, ons opleggende een derde deel van een sikkel in het jaar, tot den dienst van het huis onzes Gods; 33Tot het brood der toerichting, en het gedurig spijsoffer, en tot het gedurig brandoffer, der sabbatten, der nieuwe maanden, tot de gezette hoogtijden, en tot de heilige dingen, en tot de zondofferen, om verzoening te doen over Israel; en tot alle werk van het huis onzes Gods. 34Ook wierpen wij de loten, onder de priesters, de Levieten en het volk, over het offer van het hout, dat men brengen zou ten huize onzes Gods, naar het huis onzer vaderen, op bestemde tijden, jaar op jaar, om te branden op het altaar des HEEREN, onzes Gods, gelijk het in de wet geschreven is; 35Dat wij ook de eerstelingen onzes lands en de eerstelingen van alle vrucht van al het geboomte, jaar op jaar, zouden brengen ten huize des HEEREN; 36En de eerstgeborenen onzer zonen en onzer beesten, gelijk het in de wet geschreven is; en dat wij de eerstgeborenen onzer runderen en onzer schapen zouden brengen ten huize onzes Gods, tot de priesteren, die in het huis onzes Gods dienen. 37En dat wij de eerstelingen onzes deegs, en onze hefofferen, en de vrucht aller bomen, most en olie, zouden brengen tot de priesteren, in de kameren van het huis onzes Gods, en de tienden onzes lands tot de Levieten; en dat dezelfde Levieten de tienden zouden hebben in alle steden onzer landbouwerij; 38En dat er een priester, een zoon van Aaron, bij de Levieten zou zijn, als de Levieten de tienden ontvangen; en dat de Levieten de tienden zouden opbrengen ten huize onzes Gods, in de kameren van het schathuis. 39Want de kinderen Israels en de kinderen van Levi moeten hefoffer van koren, most en olie in die kameren brengen, omdat aldaar de vaten des heiligdoms zijn, en de priesteren, die dienen, en de poortiers, en de zangers; dat wij alzo het huis onzes Gods niet zouden verlaten.
