Amos 9

1Je vis le Seigneur qui se tenait sur l’autel. Et il dit : Frappe les chapiteaux et que les seuils s’ébranlent, Et brise-les sur leurs têtes à tous ! Je ferai périr le reste par l’épée. Aucun d’eux ne pourra se sauver en fuyant, Aucun d’eux n’échappera. 2S’ils pénètrent dans le séjour des morts, Ma main les en arrachera ; S’ils montent aux cieux, Je les en ferai descendre. 3S’ils se cachent au sommet du Carmel, Je les y chercherai et je les saisirai ; S’ils se dérobent à mes regards dans le fond de la mer, Là j’ordonnerai au serpent de les mordre. 4S’ils vont en captivité devant leurs ennemis, Là j’ordonnerai à l’épée de les faire périr ; Je dirigerai contre eux mes regards Pour faire du mal et non du bien. 5Le Seigneur, l’Éternel des armées, touche la terre, et elle tremble, Et tous ses habitants sont dans le deuil ; Elle monte tout entière comme le fleuve, Et elle s’affaisse comme le fleuve d’Égypte. 6Il a bâti sa demeure dans les cieux, Et fondé sa voûte sur la terre ; Il appelle les eaux de la mer, Et les répand à la surface de la terre : L’Éternel est son nom. 7N’êtes-vous pas pour moi comme les enfants des Éthiopiens, Enfants d’Israël ? dit l’Éternel. N’ai-je pas fait sortir Israël du pays d’Égypte, Comme les Philistins de Caphtor et les Syriens de Kir ? 8Voici, le Seigneur, l’Éternel, a les yeux sur le royaume coupable. Je le détruirai de dessus la face de la terre ; Toutefois je ne détruirai pas entièrement la maison de Jacob, Dit l’Éternel. 9Car voici, je donnerai mes ordres, Et je secouerai la maison d’Israël parmi toutes les nations, Comme on secoue avec le crible, Sans qu’il tombe à terre un seul grain. 10Tous les pécheurs de mon peuple mourront par l’épée, Ceux qui disent : Le malheur n’approchera pas, ne nous atteindra pas. 11En ce temps-là, je relèverai de sa chute la maison de David, J’en réparerai les brèches, j’en redresserai les ruines, Et je la rebâtirai comme elle était autrefois, 12Afin qu’ils possèdent le reste d’Édom et toutes les nations Sur lesquelles mon nom a été invoqué, Dit l’Éternel, qui accomplira ces choses. 13Voici, les jours viennent, dit l’Éternel, Où le laboureur suivra de près le moissonneur, Et celui qui foule le raisin celui qui répand la semence, Où le moût ruissellera des montagnes Et coulera de toutes les collines. 14Je ramènerai les captifs de mon peuple d’Israël ; Ils rebâtiront les villes dévastées et les habiteront, Ils planteront des vignes et en boiront le vin, Ils établiront des jardins et en mangeront les fruits. 15Je les planterai dans leur pays, Et ils ne seront plus arrachés du pays que je leur ai donné, Dit L’Éternel, ton Dieu.

1I saw the Lord standing beside the altar, and he said, “Strike the tops of the pillars, that the thresholds may shake; and break them in pieces on the head of all of them; and I will kill the last of them with the sword: there shall not one of them flee away, and there shall not one of them escape. 2Though they dig into Sheol, there my hand will take them; and though they climb up to heaven, there I will bring them down. 3Though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out there; and though they be hidden from my sight in the bottom of the sea, there I will command the serpent, and it will bite them. 4Though they go into captivity before their enemies, there I will command the sword, and it will kill them. I will set my eyes on them for evil, and not for good. 5For the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, is he who touches the land and it melts, and all who dwell in it will mourn; and it will rise up wholly like the River, and will sink again, like the River of Egypt. 6It is he who builds his rooms in the heavens, and has founded his vault on the earth; he who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the surface of the earth; Yahweh is his name. 7Are you not like the children of the Ethiopians to me, children of Israel?” says Yahweh. “Haven’t I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt, and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir? 8Behold, the eyes of the Lord Yahweh are on the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the surface of the earth; except that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob,” says Yahweh. 9“For, behold, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all the nations, as grain is sifted in a sieve, yet not the least kernel will fall on the earth. 10All the sinners of my people will die by the sword, who say, ‘Evil won’t overtake nor meet us.’ 11In that day I will raise up the tent of David who is fallen, and close up its breaches, and I will raise up its ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old; 12that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and all the nations who are called by my name,” says Yahweh who does this. 13“Behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the one treading grapes him who sows seed; and sweet wine will drip from the mountains, and flow from the hills. 14I will bring my people Israel back from captivity, and they will rebuild the ruined cities, and inhabit them; and they will plant vineyards, and drink wine from them. They shall also make gardens, and eat their fruit. 15I will plant them on their land, and they will no more be plucked up out of their land which I have given them,” says Yahweh your God.

1Ik zag den Heere staan op het altaar, en Hij zeide: Sla dien knoop, dat de posten beven, en doorkloof ze allen in het hoofd; en Ik zal hun achterste met het zwaard doden; en vliedende zal onder hen niet ontvlieden, noch de ontkomende onder hen behouden worden. 2Al groeven zij tot in de hel, zo zal Mijn hand ze van daar halen, en al klommen zij in den hemel, zo zal Ik ze van daar doen nederdalen. 3En al verstaken zij zich op de hoogte van Karmel, zo zal Ik ze naspeuren en van daar halen; en al verborgen zij zich van voor Mijn ogen in den grond van de zee, zo zal Ik van daar een slang gebieden, die zal ze bijten. 4En al gingen zij in gevangenis voor het aangezicht hunner vijanden, zo zal Ik vandaar het zwaard gebieden, dat het hen dode; en Ik zal Mijn oog tegen hen zetten ten kwade, en niet ten goede. 5Want de Heere HEERE der heirscharen is het, Die het land aanroert, dat het versmelte, en allen, die daarin wonen, treuren; en dat het geheel oprijze als een rivier, en verdronken worde als door de rivier van Egypte. 6Die Zijn opperzalen in den hemel bouwt, en Zijn benden heeft Hij op aarde gefondeerd; Die de wateren der zee roept, en giet ze uit op den aardbodem; HEERE is Zijn Naam. 7Zijt gijlieden Mij niet als de kinderen der Moren, o kinderen Israels? spreekt de HEERE. Heb Ik Israel niet opgevoerd uit Egypteland, en de Filistijnen uit Kafthor, en de Syriers uit Kir? 8Ziet, de ogen des Heeren HEEREN zijn tegen dit zondig koninkrijk, dat Ik het van den aardbodem verdelge; behalve dat Ik het huis Jakobs niet ganselijk zal verdelgen, spreekt de HEERE. 9Want ziet, Ik geef bevel, en Ik zal het huis Israels onder al de heidenen schudden, gelijk als zaad geschud wordt in een zeef; en niet een steentje zal er ter aarde vallen. 10Alle zondaars Mijns volks zullen door het zwaard sterven; die daar zeggen: Het kwaad zal tot ons niet genaken, noch ons voorkomen. 11Te dien dage zal Ik de vervallen hut van David weder oprichten, en Ik zal haar reten vertuinen, en wat aan haar is afgebroken, weder oprichten, en zal ze bouwen, als in de dagen van ouds; 12Opdat zij erfelijk bezitten het overblijfsel van Edom, en al de heidenen, die naar Mijn Naam genoemd worden, spreekt de HEERE, Die dit doet. 13Ziet, de dagen komen, spreekt de HEERE, dat de ploeger den maaier, en de druiventreder den zaadzaaier genaken zal; en de bergen zullen van zoeten wijn druipen, en al de heuvelen zullen smelten. 14En Ik zal de gevangenis van Mijn volk Israel wenden, en zij zullen de verwoeste steden herbouwen en bewonen, en wijngaarden planten, en derzelver wijn drinken; en zij zullen hoven maken, en derzelver vrucht eten. 15En Ik zal ze in hun land planten; en zij zullen niet meer worden uitgerukt uit hun land, dat Ik hunlieden gegeven heb, zegt de HEERE, uw God.
