1La saĝo konstruis sian domon, Ĉarpentis ĝiajn sep kolonojn. 2Ĝi buĉis sian bruton, verŝis sian vinon, Kaj pretigis sian tablon. 3Ĝi sendis siajn servantinojn, Por anonci sur la pintoj de la altaĵoj de la urbo: 4Kiu estas naiva, tiu sin turnu ĉi tien! Al la senspritulo ĝi diris: 5Venu, manĝu de mia pano, Kaj trinku el la vino, kiun mi enverŝis. 6Forlasu la malsaĝaĵon, kaj vivu; Kaj iru laŭ la vojo de la prudento. 7Kiu instruas blasfemanton, tiu prenas sur sin malhonoron; Kaj kiu penas ĝustigi malpiulon, tiu estas mokata. 8Ne penu ĝustigi blasfemanton, ke li vin ne malamu: Penu ĝustigi saĝulon, kaj li vin amos. 9Donu al saĝulo, kaj li ankoraŭ pli saĝiĝos; Instruu justulon, kaj li lernos pli. 10La komenco de la saĝo estas timo antaŭ la Eternulo; Kaj ekkono pri la Sanktulo estas prudento. 11Ĉar per mi plimultiĝos viaj tagoj, Kaj aldoniĝos al vi jaroj da vivo. 12Se vi saĝiĝis, vi saĝiĝis por vi; Kaj se vi blasfemas, vi sola suferos. 13Virino malsaĝa, bruema, Sensprita, kaj nenion scianta, 14Sidas ĉe la pordo de sia domo, Sur seĝo sur altaĵo de la urbo, 15Por voki la pasantojn, Kiuj iras sian ĝustan vojon: 16Kiu estas naiva, tiu sin turnu ĉi tien! Kaj al la senspritulo ŝi diris: 17Akvoj ŝtelitaj estas dolĉaj, Kaj pano kaŝita estas agrabla. 18Kaj li ne scias, ke tie estas mortintoj Kaj ke ŝiaj invititoj estas en la profundoj de Ŝeol.
1Wisdom has built her house. She has carved out her seven pillars. 2She has prepared her meat. She has mixed her wine. She has also set her table. 3She has sent out her maidens. She cries from the highest places of the city: 4“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him, 5“Come, eat some of my bread, Drink some of the wine which I have mixed! 6Leave your simple ways, and live. Walk in the way of understanding.” 7He who corrects a mocker invites insult. He who reproves a wicked man invites abuse. 8Don’t reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise man, and he will love you. 9Instruct a wise man, and he will be still wiser. Teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning. 10The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. 11For by me your days will be multiplied. The years of your life will be increased. 12If you are wise, you are wise for yourself. If you mock, you alone will bear it. 13The foolish woman is loud, Undisciplined, and knows nothing. 14She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city, 15To call to those who pass by, who go straight on their ways, 16“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here.” as for him who is void of understanding, she says to him, 17“Stolen water is sweet. Food eaten in secret is pleasant.” 18But he doesn’t know that the departed spirits are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.
1De opperste Wijsheid heeft Haar huis gebouwd; Zij heeft Haar zeven pilaren gehouwen. 2Zij heeft Haar slachtvee geslacht. Zij heeft Haar wijn gemengd; ook heeft Zij Haar tafel toegericht. 3Zij heeft Haar dienstmaagden uitgezonden; Zij nodigt op de tinnen van de hoogten der stad: 4Wie is slecht? Hij kere zich herwaarts! Tot de verstandeloze zegt Zij: 5Komt, eet van Mijn brood, en drinkt van den wijn, dien Ik gemengd heb. 6Verlaat de slechtigheden, en leeft; en treedt in den weg des verstands. 7Wie den spotter tuchtigt, behaalt zich schande; en die den goddeloze bestraft, zijn schandvlek. 8Bestraf den spotter niet, opdat hij u niet hate; bestraf den wijze, en hij zal u liefhebben. 9Leer den wijze, zo zal hij nog wijzer worden; onderwijs den rechtvaardige, zo zal hij in leer toenemen. 10De vreze des HEEREN is het beginsel der wijsheid, en de wetenschap der heiligen is verstand. 11Want door Mij zullen uw dagen vermenigvuldigen, en de jaren des levens zullen u toegedaan worden. 12Indien gij wijs zijt, gij zijt wijs voor uzelven; en zijt gij een spotter, gij zult het alleen dragen. 13Een zotte vrouw is woelachtig, de slechtigheid zelve, en weet niet met al. 14En zij zit aan de deur van haar huis, op een stoel, op de hoge plaatsen der stad; 15Om te roepen degenen, die op den weg voorbijgaan, die hun paden recht maken, zeggende: 16Wie is slecht? Hij kere zich herwaarts; en tot den verstandeloze zegt zij: 17De gestolen wateren zijn zoet, en het verborgen brood is liefelijk. 18Maar hij weet niet, dat aldaar doden zijn; haar genoden zijn in de diepten der hel.
