Ψαλμοί 1

1Μακάριος ο άνθρωπος, όστις δεν περιεπάτησεν εν βουλή ασεβών, και εν οδώ αμαρτωλών δεν εστάθη, και επί καθέδρας χλευαστών δεν εκάθησεν· 2αλλ' εν τω νόμω του Κυρίου είναι το θέλημα αυτού, και εν τω νόμω αυτού μελετά ημέραν και νύκτα. 3Και θέλει είσθαι ως δένδρον πεφυτευμένον παρά τους ρύακας των υδάτων, το οποίον δίδει τον καρπόν αυτού εν τω καιρώ αυτού, και το φύλλον αυτού δεν μαραίνεται· και πάντα, όσα αν πράττη, θέλουσιν ευοδωθή. 4Δεν θέλουσιν είσθαι ούτως οι ασεβείς· αλλ' ως το λεπτόν άχυρον, το οποίον εκρίπτει ο άνεμος. 5Διά τούτο δεν θέλουσιν εγερθή οι ασεβείς εν τη κρίσει, ουδέ οι αμαρτωλοί εν τη συνάξει των δικαίων. 6Διότι γνωρίζει ο Κύριος την οδόν των δικαίων· η δε οδός των ασεβών θέλει απολεσθή.

1Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand on the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers; 2but his delight is in Yahweh’s law. On his law he meditates day and night. 3He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that produces its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper. 4The wicked are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6For Yahweh knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish.

1Welgelukzalig is de man, die niet wandelt in de raad der goddelozen, noch staat op den weg der zondaren, noch zit in het gestoelte der spotters; 2Maar zijn lust is in des HEEREN wet, en hij overdenkt Zijn wet dag en nacht. 3Want hij zal zijn als een boom, geplant aan waterbeken, die zijn vrucht geeft op zijn tijd, en welks blad niet afvalt; en al wat hij doet, zal wel gelukken. 4Alzo zijn de goddelozen niet, maar als het kaf, dat de wind henendrijft. 5Daarom zullen de goddelozen niet bestaan in het gericht, noch de zondaars in de vergadering der rechtvaardigen. 6Want de HEERE kent den weg der rechtvaardigen; maar de weg der goddelozen zal vergaan.
