Και ότε έκραξεν, ελάλησαν αι επτά βρονταί τας εαυτών φωνάς. 4Και ότε ελάλησαν αι επτά βρονταί τας φωνάς εαυτών, έμελλον να γράφω· και ήκουσα φωνήν εκ του ουρανού λέγουσαν προς εμέ. Σφράγισον εκείνα, τα οποία ελάλησαν αι επτά βρονταί, και μη γράψης ταύτα. 5Και ο άγγελος, τον οποίον είδον ιστάμενον επί της θαλάσσης και επί της γης, εσήκωσε την χείρα αυτού εις τον ουρανόν 6και ώμοσεν εις τον ζώντα εις τους αιώνας των αιώνων, όστις έκτισε τον ουρανόν και τα εν αυτώ, και την γην και τα εν αυτή και την θάλασσαν και τα εν αυτή, ότι καιρός δεν θέλει είσθαι έτι, 7αλλ' εν ταις ημέραις της φωνής του εβδόμου αγγέλου, όταν μέλλη να σαλπίση, τότε θέλει τελεσθή το μυστήριον του Θεού, καθώς εφανέρωσε προς τους εαυτού δούλους τους προφήτας. 8Και η φωνή, την οποίαν ήκουσα εκ του ουρανού, πάλιν ελάλει μετ' εμού και έλεγεν· Ύπαγε, λάβε το βιβλιάριον το ανεωγμένον εν τη χειρί του αγγέλου του ισταμένου επί της θαλάσσης και επί της γης. 9Και υπήγα προς τον άγγελον, λέγων προς αυτόν, Δος μοι το βιβλιάριον. Και λέγει προς εμέ· Λάβε και κατάφαγε αυτό, και θέλει πικράνει την κοιλίαν σου, πλην εν τω στόματί σου θέλει είσθαι γλυκύ ως μέλι. 10Και έλαβον το βιβλιάριον εκ της χειρός του αγγέλου και κατέφαγον αυτό· και ήτο εν τω στόματί μου ως μέλι γλυκύ· και ότε έφαγον αυτό επικράνθη η κοιλία μου. 11Και μοι λέγει· Πρέπει πάλιν να προφητεύσης περί λαών και εθνών και γλωσσών και βασιλέων πολλών.
1I saw a mighty angel coming down out of the sky, clothed with a cloud. A rainbow was on his head. His face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. 2He had in his hand a little open book. He set his right foot on the sea, and his left on the land. 3He cried with a loud voice, as a lion roars. When he cried, the seven thunders uttered their voices. 4When the seven thunders sounded, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from the sky saying, “Seal up the things which the seven thunders said, and don’t write them.” 5The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land lifted up his right hand to the sky, 6and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there will no longer be delay, 7but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then the mystery of God is finished, as he declared to his servants, the prophets. 8The voice which I heard from heaven, again speaking with me, said, “Go, take the book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the land.” 9I went to the angel, telling him to give me the little book. He said to me, “Take it, and eat it up. It will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.” 10I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up. It was as sweet as honey in my mouth. When I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter. 11They told me, “You must prophesy again over many peoples, nations, languages, and kings.”
1En ik zag een anderen sterken engel, afkomende van den hemel, die bekleed was met een wolk; en een regenboog was boven zijn hoofd; en zijn aangezicht was als de zon, en zijn voeten waren als pilaren van vuur. 2En hij had in zijn hand een boeksken, dat geopend was; en hij zette zijn rechtervoet op de zee, en den linker op de aarde. 3En hij riep met een grote stem, gelijkerwijs een leeuw brult; en als hij geroepen had, spraken de zeven donderslagen hun stemmen. 4En toen de zeven donderslagen hun stemmen gesproken hadden, zo zou ik ze geschreven hebben; en ik hoorde een stem uit den hemel, die tot mij zeide: Verzegel, hetgeen de zeven donderslagen gesproken hebben, en schrijf dat niet. 5En de engel, dien ik zag staan op de zee, en op de aarde, hief zijn hand op naar den hemel; 6En hij zwoer bij Dien, Die leeft in alle eeuwigheid, Die den hemel geschapen heeft en hetgeen daarin is, en de aarde en hetgeen daarin is, en de zee en hetgeen daarin is, dat er geen tijd meer zal zijn; 7Maar in de dagen der stem des zevenden engels, wanneer hij bazuinen zal, zo zal de verborgenheid Gods vervuld worden, gelijk Hij Zijn dienstknechten, den profeten, verkondigd heeft. 8En de stem, die ik gehoord had uit den hemel, sprak wederom met mij, en zeide: Ga henen, neem het boeksken, dat geopend en in de hand des engels is, die op de zee en op de aarde staat. 9En ik ging henen tot den engel, zeggende tot hem: Geef mij dat boeksken. En hij zeide tot mij: Neem dat en eet het op; en het zal uw buik bitter maken, maar in uw mond zal het zoet zijn als honig. 10En ik nam dat boeksken uit de hand des engels, en ik at dat op; en het was in mijn mond zoet als honig, en als ik het gegeten had, werd mijn buik bitter. 11En hij zeide tot mij: Gij moet wederom profeteren voor vele volken, en natien, en talen, en koningen.
