1И было ко мне слово Господне: 2сын человеческий! обрати лице твое к горе Сеир и изреки на нее пророчество 3и скажи ей: так говорит Господь Бог: вот, Я — на тебя, гора Сеир! и простру на тебя руку Мою и сделаю тебя пустою и необитаемою. 4Города твои превращу в развалины, и ты сама опустеешь и узнаешь, что Я Господь. 5Так как у тебя вечная вражда, и ты предавала сынов Израилевых в руки мечу во время несчастья их, во время окончательной гибели: 6за это — живу Я! говорит Господь Бог — сделаю тебя кровью, и кровь будет преследовать тебя; так как ты не ненавидела крови, то кровь и будет преследовать тебя. 7И сделаю гору Сеир пустою и безлюдною степью и истреблю на ней приходящего и возвращающегося. 8И наполню высоты ее убитыми ее; на холмах твоих и в долинах твоих, и во всех рытвинах твоих будут падать сраженные мечом. 9Сделаю тебя пустынею вечною, и в городах твоих не будут жить, и узнаете, что Я Господь. 10Так как ты говорила: "эти два народа и эти две земли будут мои, и мы завладеем ими, хотя и Господь был там": 11за то, — живу Я! говорит Господь Бог, — поступлю с тобою по мере ненависти твоей и зависти твоей, какую ты выказала из ненависти твоей к ним, и явлю Себя им, когда буду судить тебя. 12И узнаешь, что Я, Господь, слышал все глумления твои, какие ты произносила на горы Израилевы, говоря: "опустели! нам отданы на съедение!" 13Вы величались предо Мною языком вашим и умножали речи ваши против Меня; Я слышал это. 14Так говорит Господь Бог: когда вся земля будет радоваться, Я сделаю тебя пустынею. 15Как ты радовалась тому, что удел дома Израилева опустел, так сделаю Я и с тобою: опустошена будешь, гора Сеир, и вся Идумея вместе, и узнают, что Я Господь.

1Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 2Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it, 3and tell it, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you a desolation and an astonishment. 4I will lay your cities waste, and you shall be desolate; and you shall know that I am Yahweh. 5Because you have had a perpetual hostility, and have given over the children of Israel to the power of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end; 6therefore, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you: since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you. 7Thus will I make Mount Seir an astonishment and a desolation; and I will cut off from it him who passes through and him who returns. 8I will fill its mountains with its slain: in your hills and in your valleys and in all your watercourses shall they fall who are slain with the sword. 9I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities shall not be inhabited; and you shall know that I am Yahweh. 10Because you have said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas Yahweh was there: 11therefore, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will do according to your anger, and according to your envy which you have shown out of your hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I shall judge you. 12You shall know that I, Yahweh, have heard all your insults which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they have been given us to devour. 13You have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard it. 14Thus says the Lord Yahweh: When the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. 15As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do to you: you shall be desolate, Mount Seir, and all Edom, even all of it; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

1Wijders geschiedde des HEEREN woord tot mij, zeggende: 2Mensenkind! zet uw aangezicht tegen het gebergte Seir, en profeteer tegen hetzelve, 3En zeg tot hetzelve: Alzo zegt de Heere HEERE: Zie, Ik wil aan u, o gebergte Seir! en Ik zal Mijn hand tegen u uitstrekken, en zal u stellen tot een verwoesting en een schrik. 4Ik zal uw steden stellen tot eenzaamheid, en gij zult een verwoesting worden, en zult weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben. 5Omdat gij een eeuwige vijandschap hebt, en hebt de kinderen Israels doen wegvloeien door het geweld des zwaards, ten tijde huns verderfs, ten tijde der uiterste ongerechtigheid; 6Daarom, zo waarachtig als Ik leef, spreekt de Heere HEERE; Ik zal u voorzeker ten bloede bereiden, en het bloed zal u vervolgen; alzo gij het bloed niet hebt gehaat, zal u het bloed ook vervolgen. 7En Ik zal het gebergte Seir tot de uiterste verwoesting stellen; en Ik zal uit hetzelve uitroeien dien, die er doorgaat, en dien, die wederkeert. 8En Ik zal zijn bergen met zijn verslagenen vervullen; uw heuvelen, en uw dalen, en al uw stromen, in dezelve zullen de verslagenen van het zwaard liggen. 9Tot eeuwige verwoestingen zal Ik u stellen, en uw steden zullen niet bewoond worden; alzo zult gij weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben. 10Omdat gij zegt: Die twee volken en die twee landen zullen mij geworden, en wij zullen ze erfelijk bezitten, ofschoon de HEERE daar ware; 11Daarom, zo waarachtig als Ik leef, spreekt de Heere HEERE: Ik zal ook handelen naar uw toorn en naar uw nijdigheid, die gij uit uw haat tegen hen hebt te werk gesteld; en Ik zal bij hen bekend worden, wanneer Ik u zal gericht hebben. 12En gij zult weten, dat Ik, de HEERE, al uw lasteringen gehoord heb, die gij tegen de bergen Israels gesproken hebt, zeggende: Zij zijn verwoest, zij zijn ons ter spijze gegeven. 13Alzo hebt gij u met uw mond tegen Mij groot gemaakt, en uw woorden tegen Mij vermenigvuldigd; Ik heb het gehoord. 14Alzo zegt de Heere HEERE: Gelijk het ganse land verblijd is, alzo zal Ik u de verwoesting aandoen. 15Gelijk gij u verblijd hebt over de erfenis van het huis Israels, omdat zij verwoest is, alzo zal Ik aan u doen; het gebergte van Seir, en gans Edom, zal geheel een verwoesting worden; en zij zullen weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben.
