1Portanto, agora, nenhuma condenação há para os que estão em Cristo Jesus. 2Porque a Lei do Espírito de vida, em Cristo Jesus, te livrou da Lei do pecado e da morte. 3Pois o que era impossível para a Lei, porque estava enferma pela carne, Deus fez : ele enviou o seu próprio Filho em semelhança da carne pecadora, e por causa do pecado, condenou o pecado na carne, 4para que a exigência da lei se cumprisse em nós, que andamos, não segundo a carne, mas sim, segundo o Espírito. 5Pois os que são segundo a carne costumam pensar nas coisas da carne, mas os que são segundo o Espírito, nas coisas do Espírito. 6Pois a mentalidade da carne é morte, mas a mentalidade do Espírito é vida e paz. 7Pois a mentalidade da carne é inimizade contra Deus, pois não se sujeita à Lei de Deus, porque nem sequer pode. 8Portanto os que estão na carne não podem agradar a Deus. 9Porém vós não estais na carne, mas sim, no Espírito, se é que o Espírito de Deus habita em vós. Porém, se alguém não tem o Espírito de Cristo, esse não lhe pertence. 10E se Cristo está em vós, apesar do corpo estar morto por causa do pecado, o Espírito é vida por causa da justiça. 11E se o Espírito daquele que dos mortos ressuscitou a Jesus habita em vós, aquele que dos mortos ressuscitou Cristo Jesus também dará vida aos vossos corpos mortais por meio do seu Espírito, que habita em vós. 12Por isso, irmãos, somos devedores, não à carne, para vivermos segundo a carne; 13porque, se viverdes segundo a carne, morrereis; mas se pelo Espírito mortificardes as obras do corpo, vivereis. 14Pois todos quantos são guiados pelo Espírito de Deus são filhos de Deus. 15Pois não recebestes o espírito de escravidão, para voltardes ao medo; mas recebestes o Espírito de adoção como filhos, pelo qual clamamos: Aba, Pai! 16O próprio Espírito dá testemunho com o nosso espírito de que somos filhos de Deus. 17E, se somos filhos, logo somos também herdeiros; herdeiros de Deus, e coerdeiros de Cristo; se sofremos com ele, é para que também com ele sejamos glorificados. 18Pois considero que as aflições deste tempo presente nem se comparam com a glória que nos será revelada. 19Pois a criação espera ansiosamente a revelação dos filhos de Deus; 20porque a criação ficou sujeita à futilidade (não por vontade própria, mas sim por causa daquele que a sujeitou), 21na esperança de que também a mesma criação seja liberta da escravidão da degradação para a liberdade da glória dos filhos de Deus. 22Pois sabemos que toda a criação geme e sofre dores como as de parto até agora. 23E não somente isso , mas também nós, que temos os primeiros frutos do Espírito, gememos em nós mesmos, esperando a adoção , isto é , a redenção do nosso corpo. 24Pois fomos salvos na esperança. Ora, a esperança que se vê não é esperança; afinal, por que alguém ainda espera o que já vê? 25Mas, se esperamos o que não vemos, com paciência esperamos. 26E da mesma maneira também o Espírito ajuda em nossas fraquezas. Pois não sabemos orar como se deve, mas o próprio Espírito intercede por nós com gemidos inexprimíveis. 27E aquele que examina os corações sabe qual é a intenção do Espírito, pois ele intercede pelos santos, segundo a vontade de Deus. 28E sabemos que todas as coisas juntamente contribuem para o bem daqueles que amam a Deus, dos que são chamados segundo o seu propósito. 29Pois aos que desde antes conheceu, também os predestinou para serem conformes à imagem do seu Filho, para que ele seja o primogênito entre muitos irmãos. 30E aos que predestinou, a esses também chamou; e aos que chamou, a esses também justificou; e aos que justificou, a esses também glorificou. 31Então, que diremos acerca dessas coisas? Se Deus é por nós, quem será contra nós? 32Aquele que nem mesmo ao seu próprio Filho poupou, como não nos dará também com ele todas as coisas? 33Quem fará acusação contra os escolhidos de Deus? Deus é quem justifica. 34Quem os condenará? Cristo Jesus é o que morreu; além disto é o que também ressuscitou; o que também está à direita de Deus, e que intercede por nós. 35Quem nos separará do amor de Cristo? A aflição, a angústia, a perseguição, a fome, a nudez, o perigo, ou a espada? 36Como está escrito: “Pois por causa de ti somos entreges à morte o dia todo; somos contados como ovelhas para o matadouro”. 37Mas em todas estas coisas somos mais que vencedores, por meio daquele que nos amou. 38Pois tenho certeza que nem a morte, nem a vida, nem anjos, nem principados, nem o presente, nem o futuro, nem poderes, 39nem altura, nem profundeza, nem qualquer outra criatura poderá nos separar do amor de Deus, que está em Cristo Jesus, nosso Senhor.
1There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death. 3For what the law couldn’t do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh; 4that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace; 7because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God’s law, neither indeed can it be. 8Those who are in the flesh can’t please God. 9But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his. 10If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. 12So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God. 15For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God; 17and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him. 18For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us. 19For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now. 23Not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for adoption, the redemption of our body. 24For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees? 25But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience. 26In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. 27He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit’s mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God. 28We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. 29For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified. 31What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things? 33Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies. 34Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” 37No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1Zo is er dan nu geen verdoemenis voor degenen, die in Christus Jezus zijn, die niet naar het vlees wandelen, maar naar den Geest. 2Want de wet des Geestes des levens in Christus Jezus heeft mij vrijgemaakt van de wet der zonde en des doods. 3Want hetgeen der wet onmogelijk was, dewijl zij door het vlees krachteloos was, heeft God, Zijn Zoon zendende in gelijkheid des zondigen vleses, en dat voor de zonde, de zonde veroordeeld in het vlees. 4Opdat het recht der wet vervuld zou worden in ons, die niet naar het vlees wandelen, maar naar den Geest. 5Want die naar het vlees zijn, bedenken, dat des vleses is; maar die naar den Geest zijn, bedenken, dat des Geestes is. 6Want het bedenken des vleses is de dood; maar het bedenken des Geestes is het leven en vrede; 7Daarom dat het bedenken des vleses vijandschap is tegen God; want het onderwerpt zich der wet Gods niet; want het kan ook niet. 8En die in het vlees zijn, kunnen Gode niet behagen. 9Doch gijlieden zijt niet in het vlees, maar in den Geest, zo anders de Geest Gods in u woont. Maar zo iemand den Geest van Christus niet heeft, die komt Hem niet toe. 10En indien Christus in ulieden is, zo is wel het lichaam dood om der zonden wil; maar de geest is leven om der gerechtigheid wil. 11En indien de Geest Desgenen, Die Jezus uit de doden opgewekt heeft, in u woont, zo zal Hij, Die Christus uit de doden opgewekt heeft, ook uw sterfelijke lichamen levend maken, door Zijn Geest, Die in u woont. 12Zo dan, broeders, wij zijn schuldenaars niet aan het vlees, om naar het vlees te leven. 13Want indien gij naar het vlees leeft, zo zult gij sterven; maar indien gij door den Geest de werkingen des lichaams doodt, zo zult gij leven. 14Want zovelen als er door den Geest Gods geleid worden, die zijn kinderen Gods. 15Want gij hebt niet ontvangen den Geest der dienstbaarheid wederom tot vreze; maar gij hebt ontvangen den Geest der aanneming tot kinderen, door Welken wij roepen: Abba, Vader! 16Dezelve Geest getuigt met onzen geest, dat wij kinderen Gods zijn. 17En indien wij kinderen zijn, zo zijn wij ook erfgenamen, erfgenamen van God, en medeerfgenamen van Christus; zo wij anders met Hem lijden, opdat wij ook met Hem verheerlijkt worden. 18Want ik houde het daarvoor, dat het lijden dezes tegenwoordigen tijds niet is te waarderen tegen de heerlijkheid, die aan ons zal geopenbaard worden. 19Want het schepsel, als met opgestoken hoofde, verwacht de openbaring der kinderen Gods. 20Want het schepsel is der ijdelheid onderworpen, niet gewillig, maar om diens wil, die het der ijdelheid onderworpen heeft; 21Op hoop, dat ook het schepsel zelf zal vrijgemaakt worden van de dienstbaarheid der verderfenis, tot de vrijheid der heerlijkheid der kinderen Gods. 22Want wij weten, dat het ganse schepsel te zamen zucht, en te zamen als in barensnood is tot nu toe. 23En niet alleen dit, maar ook wij zelven, die de eerstelingen des Geestes hebben, wij ook zelven, zeg ik, zuchten in onszelven, verwachtende de aanneming tot kinderen, namelijk de verlossing onzes lichaams. 24Want wij zijn in hope zalig geworden. De hoop nu, die gezien wordt, is geen hoop; want hetgeen iemand ziet, waarom zal hij het ook hopen? 25Maar indien wij hopen, hetgeen wij niet zien, zo verwachten wij het met lijdzaamheid. 26En desgelijks komt ook de Geest onze zwakheden mede te hulp; want wij weten niet, wat wij bidden zullen, gelijk het behoort, maar de Geest Zelf bidt voor ons met onuitsprekelijke zuchtingen. 27En Die de harten doorzoekt, weet, welke de mening des Geestes zij, dewijl Hij naar God voor de heiligen bidt. 28En wij weten, dat dengenen, die God liefhebben, alle dingen medewerken ten goede, namelijk dengenen, die naar Zijn voornemen geroepen zijn. 29Want die Hij te voren gekend heeft, die heeft Hij ook te voren verordineerd, den beelde Zijns Zoons gelijkvormig te zijn, opdat Hij de Eerstgeborene zij onder vele broederen. 30En die Hij te voren verordineerd heeft, dezen heeft Hij ook geroepen; en die Hij geroepen heeft, dezen heeft Hij ook gerechtvaardigd; en die Hij gerechtvaardigd heeft, dezen heeft Hij ook verheerlijkt. 31Wat zullen wij dan tot deze dingen zeggen? Zo God voor ons is, wie zal tegen ons zijn? 32Die ook Zijn eigen Zoon niet gespaard heeft, maar heeft Hem voor ons allen overgegeven, hoe zal Hij ons ook met Hem niet alle dingen schenken? 33Wie zal beschuldiging inbrengen tegen de uitverkorenen Gods? God is het, Die rechtvaardig maakt. 34Wie is het, die verdoemt? Christus is het, Die gestorven is; ja, wat meer is, Die ook opgewekt is, Die ook ter rechter hand Gods is, Die ook voor ons bidt. 35Wie zal ons scheiden van de liefde van Christus? Verdrukking, of benauwdheid, of vervolging, of honger, naaktheid, of gevaar, of zwaard? 36(Gelijk geschreven is: Want om Uwentwil worden wij den gansen dag gedood; wij zijn geacht als schapen ter slachting.) 37Maar in dit alles zijn wij meer dan overwinnaars, door Hem, Die ons liefgehad heeft. 38Want ik ben verzekerd, dat noch dood, noch leven, noch engelen, noch overheden, noch machten, noch tegenwoordige, noch toekomende dingen, 39Noch hoogte, noch diepte, noch enig ander schepsel ons zal kunnen scheiden van de liefde Gods, welke is in Christus Jezus, onzen Heere.
