Efésios 6

1Filhos, sede obedientes aos vossos pais no Senhor, porque isso é justo. 2Honra teu pai, e tua mãe (que é o primeiro mandamento com promessa); 3para que te vá bem, e vivas muito tempo sobre a terra. 4Pais, não provoqueis à ira os vossos filhos, mas criai-os na disciplina e correção do Senhor. 5Servos, obedecei aos vossos senhores segundo a carne, com temor e tremor, em sinceridade do vosso coração, assim como a Cristo; 6não servindo somente quando vistos, como para agradar pessoas; mas sim, como servos de Cristo, fazendo de coração a vontade de Deus; 7servindo de boa vontade como ao Senhor, e não aos pessoas. 8Pois sabeis que cada um receberá do Senhor todo o bem que fizer, seja servo, seja livre. 9Senhores, fazei o mesmo a eles, abandonando as ameaças, pois sabeis também que o Senhor vosso e deles está nos céus, e que com ele não há acepção de pessoas. 10Por fim, fortalecei-vos no Senhor e na força do seu poder. 11Revesti-vos de toda a armadura de Deus, para que possais estar firmes contra as ciladas do diabo. 12Pois temos de lutar não contra carne e sangue, mas sim contra os domínios e poderes, contra os senhores destas trevas, contra os males espirituais nos lugares celestes. 13Portanto pegai toda a armadura de Deus, para que possais resistir no dia mal, e depois que fizerdes tudo, continuar firmes. 14Estai, pois, firmes, com a vossa cintura envolvida com o cinturão da verdade, e vestidos com a couraça da justiça; 15e calçados os pés com a prontidão do evangelho da paz. 16Em tudo pegai o escudo da fé, com o qual podereis apagar todas as flechas inflamadas do maligno. 17Pegai também o capacete da salvação, e a espada do Espírito, que é a palavra de Deus; 18orando em todo tempo com toda oração e súplica no Espírito, e vigiando nisso com toda perseverança e súplica por todos os santos, 19e por mim; a fim de que, quando eu abrir a boca, me seja dada palavra com ousadia, para tornar conhecido o mistério do evangelho, 20pelo qual sou embaixador acorrentado; para que dele eu possa falar com ousadia, como devo falar. 21Para que também vós possais saber o que acontece comigo, e o que eu faço, Tíquico, o irmão amado, e fiel servidor do Senhor vos informará de tudo. 22Eu o enviei até vós para isso, para que saibais o que acontece conosco, e ele conforte os vossos corações. 23Paz seja com os irmãos, e amor com fé, da parte de Deus Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo. 24A graça seja com todos os que amam ao nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo com amor que não falha.

1Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2“Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with a promise: 3“that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.” 4You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. 5Servants, be obedient to those who according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ; 6not in the way of service only when eyes are on you, as men pleasers; but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; 7with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men; 8knowing that whatever good thing each one does, he will receive the same again from the Lord, whether he is bound or free. 9You masters, do the same things to them, and give up threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no partiality with him. 10Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. 14Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace; 16above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints: 19on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News, 20for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. 21But that you also may know my affairs, how I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will make known to you all things; 22whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, that you may know our state, and that he may comfort your hearts. 23Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love. Amen.

1Gij kinderen, zijt uw ouderen gehoorzaam in den Heere; want dat is recht. 2Eert uw vader en moeder (hetwelk het eerste gebod is met een belofte), 3Opdat het u welga, en dat gij lang leeft op de aarde. 4En gij vaders, verwekt uw kinderen niet tot toorn, maar voedt hen op in de lering en vermaning des Heeren. 5Gij dienstknechten, zijt gehoorzaam uw heren naar het vlees, met vreze en beven, in eenvoudigheid uws harten, gelijk als aan Christus; 6Niet naar ogendienst, als mensenbehagers, maar als dienstknechten van Christus, doende den wil van God van harte; 7Dienende met goedwilligheid den Heere, en niet de mensen; 8Wetende, dat zo wat goed een iegelijk gedaan zal hebben, hij datzelve van den Heere zal ontvangen, hetzij dienstknecht, hetzij vrije. 9En gij heren, doet hetzelfde bij hen, nalatende de dreiging; als die weet, dat ook uw eigen Heere in de hemelen is, en dat geen aanneming des persoons bij Hem is. 10Voorts, mijn broeders, wordt krachtig in den Heere, en in de sterkte Zijner macht. 11Doet aan de gehele wapenrusting Gods, opdat gij kunt staan tegen de listige omleidingen des duivels. 12Want wij hebben den strijd niet tegen vlees en bloed, maar tegen de overheden, tegen de machten, tegen de geweldhebbers der wereld, der duisternis dezer eeuw, tegen de geestelijke boosheden in de lucht. 13Daarom neemt aan de gehele wapenrusting Gods, opdat gij kunt wederstaan in den bozen dag, en alles verricht hebbende, staande blijven. 14Staat dan, uw lenden omgord hebbende met de waarheid, en aangedaan hebbende het borstwapen der gerechtigheid; 15En de voeten geschoeid hebbende met bereidheid van het Evangelie des vredes; 16Bovenal aangenomen hebbende het schild des geloofs, met hetwelk gij al de vurige pijlen des bozen zult kunnen uitblussen. 17En neemt den helm der zaligheid, en het zwaard des Geestes, hetwelk is Gods Woord. 18Met alle bidding en smeking, biddende te allen tijd in den Geest, en tot hetzelve wakende met alle gedurigheid en smeking voor al de heiligen; 19En voor mij, opdat mij het Woord gegeven worde in de opening mijns monds met vrijmoedigheid, om de verborgenheid van het Evangelie bekend te maken; 20Waarover ik een gezant ben in een keten, opdat ik in hetzelve vrijmoediglijk moge spreken, gelijk mij betaamt te spreken. 21En opdat ook gij moogt weten hetgeen mij aangaat; en wat ik doe, dat alles zal u Tychikus, de geliefde broeder en getrouwe dienaar in den Heere, bekend maken; 22Denwelken ik tot datzelfde einde tot u gezonden heb, opdat gij onze zaken zoudt weten, en hij uw harten zou vertroosten. 23Vrede zij den broederen, en liefde met geloof, van God den Vader, en den Heere Jezus Christus. 24De genade zij met al degenen, die onzen Heere Jezus Christus liefhebben in onverderfelijkheid. Amen.
