1E Josias fez páscoa ao SENHOR em Jerusalém, e sacrificaram a páscoa aos catorze do mês primeiro. 2E pôs aos sacerdotes em seus empregos, e confirmou-os no ministério da casa do SENHOR. 3E disse aos levitas que ensinavam a todo Israel, e que estavam dedicados ao SENHOR: Ponde a arca do santuário na casa que edificou Salomão filho de Davi, rei de Israel, para que não a carregueis mais sobre os ombros. Agora servireis ao SENHOR vosso Deus, e a seu povo Israel. 4Preparai-vos segundo as famílias de vossos pais, por vossas ordens, conforme à prescrição de Davi rei de Israel, e de Salomão seu filho. 5Ficai no santuário segundo a distribuição das famílias de vossos irmãos os filhos do povo, e segundo a divisão da família dos levitas. 6Sacrificai logo a páscoa: e depois de santificar-vos, preparai a vossos irmãos, para que façam conforme à palavra do SENHOR dada por meio de Moisés. 7E ofereceu o rei Josias aos do povo ovelhas, cordeiros, e cabritos dos rebanhos, em número de trinta mil, e três mil bois, tudo para a páscoa, para todos os que se acharam presentes: isto da riqueza do rei. 8Também seus príncipes ofereceram com generosidade ao povo, e aos sacerdotes e levitas. Hilquias, Zacarias e Jeiel, príncipes da casa de Deus, deram aos sacerdotes para fazer a páscoa duas mil seiscentas ovelhas, e trezentos bois. 9Também Conanias, e Semaías e Natanael seus irmãos, e Hasabias, Jeiel, e Jozabade, príncipes dos levitas, deram aos levitas para os sacrifícios da páscoa cinco mil ovelhas, e quinhentos bois. 10Prontificado assim o serviço, os sacerdotes se colocaram em seus postos, e também os levitas em suas ordens, conforme ao mandamento do rei. 11E sacrificaram a páscoa; e espargiam os sacerdotes o sangue tomado da mão dos levitas, e os levitas tiravam os couros. 12Tomaram logo do holocausto, para dar conforme as repartições pelas famílias dos do povo, a fim de que oferecessem ao SENHOR, segundo está escrito no livro de Moisés: e também tomaram dos bois. 13E assaram a páscoa ao fogo segundo o rito: mas o que havia sido santificado o cozinharam em panelas, em caldeiras, e caldeirões, e repartiram o prontamente a todo o povo. 14E depois prepararam para si e para os sacerdotes; porque os sacerdotes, filhos de Arão, estiveram ocupados até a noite no sacrifício dos holocaustos e das gorduras; portanto, os levitas prepararam para si, e para os sacerdotes filhos de Arão. 15Também os cantores filhos de Asafe estavam em seu posto, conforme ao mandamento de Davi, de Asafe e de Hemã, e de Jedutum vidente do rei; também os porteiros estavam a cada porta; e não era necessário que se afastassem de seu ministério, porque seus irmãos, os levitas, preparavam para eles. 16Assim foi aprontei todo o serviço do SENHOR naquele dia, para fazer a páscoa, e sacrificar os holocaustos sobre o altar do SENHOR, conforme ao mandamento do rei Josias. 17E os filhos de Israel que se acharam ali, fizeram a páscoa naquele tempo, e a solenidade dos pães sem levedura, por sete dias. 18Nunca tal páscoa foi feita em Israel desde os dias de Samuel o profeta; nem nenhum rei de Israel fez páscoa tal como a que fez o rei Josias, e os sacerdotes e levitas, e todo Judá e Israel, os que se acharam ali, juntamente com os moradores de Jerusalém. 19Esta páscoa foi celebrada no ano dezoito do rei Josias. 20Depois de todas estas coisas, logo de haver Josias preparado a casa, Neco rei do Egito subiu a fazer guerra em Carquêmis junto a Eufrates; e saiu Josias contra ele. 21E ele lhe enviou embaixadores, dizendo: Que temos eu e tu, rei de Judá? Eu não venho contra ti hoje, mas sim contra a casa que me faz guerra: e Deus disse que me apressasse. Deixa-te de intrometer-te com Deus, que é comigo, não te destrua. 22Mas Josias não voltou seu rosto dele, em vez disso disfarçou-se para dar-lhe batalha, e não atendeu às palavras de Neco, que eram da boca de Deus; e veio a dar-lhe a batalha no campo de Megido. 23E os arqueiros atiraram ao rei Josias flechas; e disse o rei a seus servos: Tirai-me daqui, porque estou ferido gravemente. 24Então seus servos o tiraram daquele carro, e puseram-lhe em outro segundo carro que tinha, e levaram-lhe a Jerusalém, e morreu; e sepultaram-lhe nos sepulcros de seus pais. E todo Judá e Jerusalém fez luto por Josias. 25E lamentou Jeremias por Josias, e todos os cantores e cantoras recitam suas lamentações sobre Josias até hoje; e as deram por norma para lamentar em Israel, as quais estão escritas nas Lamentações. 26Os demais dos feitos de Josias, e suas piedosas obras, conforme o que está escrito na lei do SENHOR, 27E seus feitos, primeiros e últimos, eis que estão escritos no livro dos reis de Israel e de Judá.
1Josiah kept a Passover to Yahweh in Jerusalem: and they killed the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month. 2He set the priests in their offices, and encouraged them to the service of Yahweh’s house. 3He said to the Levites who taught all Israel, who were holy to Yahweh, “Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel built. There shall no more be a burden on your shoulders. Now serve Yahweh your God, and his people Israel. 4Prepare yourselves after your fathers’ houses by your divisions, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son. 5Stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the fathers’ houses of your brothers the children of the people, and let there be for each a portion of a fathers’ house of the Levites. 6Kill the Passover, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare for your brothers, to do according to Yahweh’s word by Moses.” 7Josiah gave to the children of the people, of the flock, lambs and young goats, all of them for the Passover offerings, to all who were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bulls: these were of the king’s substance. 8His princes gave for a freewill offering to the people, to the priests, and to the Levites. Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, the rulers of God’s house, gave to the priests for the Passover offerings two thousand and six hundred small livestock, and three hundred head of cattle. 9Conaniah also, and Shemaiah and Nethanel, his brothers, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, the chiefs of the Levites, gave to the Levites for the Passover offerings five thousand small livestock, and five hundred head of cattle. 10So the service was prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites by their divisions, according to the king’s commandment. 11They killed the Passover, and the priests sprinkled the blood which they received of their hand, and the Levites flayed them. 12They removed the burnt offerings, that they might give them according to the divisions of the fathers’ houses of the children of the people, to offer to Yahweh, as it is written in the book of Moses. So they did with the cattle. 13They roasted the Passover with fire according to the ordinance: and the holy offerings boiled they in pots, and in cauldrons, and in pans, and carried them quickly to all the children of the people. 14Afterward they prepared for themselves, and for the priests, because the priests the sons of Aaron were busy with offering the burnt offerings and the fat until night: therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron. 15The singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s seer; and the porters were at every gate: they didn’t need to depart from their service; for their brothers the Levites prepared for them. 16So all the service of Yahweh was prepared the same day, to keep the Passover, and to offer burnt offerings on the altar of Yahweh, according to the commandment of king Josiah. 17The children of Israel who were present kept the Passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days. 18There was no Passover like that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did any of the kings of Israel keep such a Passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel who were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 19In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah was this Passover kept. 20After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Neco king of Egypt went up to fight against Carchemish by the Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him. 21But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, “What have I to do with you, you king of Judah? I come not against you this day, but against the house with which I have war. God has commanded me to make haste. Beware that it is God who is with me, that he not destroy you.” 22Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and didn’t listen to the words of Neco from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo. 23The archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, “Take me away, because I am seriously wounded!” 24So his servants took him out of the chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had, and brought him to Jerusalem; and he died, and was buried in the tombs of his fathers. All Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah. 25Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all the singing men and singing women spoke of Josiah in their lamentations to this day; and they made them an ordinance in Israel: and behold, they are written in the lamentations. 26Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and his good deeds, according to that which is written in Yahweh’s law, 27and his acts, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
1Daarna hield Josia het pascha den HEERE te Jeruzalem; en zij slachtten het pascha op den veertienden der eerste maand. 2En hij stelde de priesteren op hun wachten; en hij sterkte hen tot den dienst van het huis des HEEREN. 3En hij zeide tot de Levieten, die gans Israel onderwezen, die den HEERE heilig waren: Zet de heilige ark in het huis, hetwelk Salomo, de zoon van David, de koning van Israel, gebouwd heeft; gij hebt geen last op de schouderen; dient nu den HEERE, uw God, en Zijn volk Israel; 4En bereidt u naar de huizen uwer vaderen, naar uw verdelingen, naar het voorschrift van David, den koning van Israel, en naar de beschrijving van zijn zoon Salomo; 5En staat in het heiligdom, naar de onderscheiding der vaderlijke huizen, voor uw broederen, het volk, en naar de afdeling van de vaderlijke huizen der Levieten; 6En slacht het pascha, en heiligt u, en bereidt dat voor uw broederen, doende naar het woord des HEEREN, door de hand van Mozes. 7En Josia gaf voor het volk, van klein vee, lammeren en jonge geitenbokken, die alle tot paasofferen, naar al hetgeen er gevonden werd, in getal dertig duizend; maar van runderen drie duizend; dit was van des konings have. 8Ook gaven zijn vorsten tot een vrijwillig offer voor het volk, voor de priesteren, en voor de Levieten; Hilkia, en Zacharia, en Jehiel, de oversten van het huis Gods, gaven den priesteren tot paasofferen, twee duizend en zeshonderd klein vee, en driehonderd runderen. 9Daartoe Chonanja, en Semaja, en Nethaneel, zijn broeders, mitsgaders Hasabja, en Jeiel, en Jozabad, de oversten der Levieten, gaven den Levieten tot paasofferen, vijf duizend klein vee en vijfhonderd runderen. 10Alzo werd de dienst toebereid; en de priesteren stonden in hun standplaats, en de Levieten in hun verdelingen, naar het gebod des konings. 11Daarna slachtte men het pascha, en de priesters sprengden het bloed uit hun handen, en de Levieten trokken de huiden af. 12En zij namen het brandoffer daar af, opdat zij die naar de verdelingen der vaderlijke huizen, aan het volk geven mochten, om den HEERE te offeren, gelijk geschreven is in het boek van Mozes; en alzo met de runderen. 13En zij kookten het pascha bij het vuur, naar het recht; maar de andere heilige dingen kookten zij in potten, en in ketels, en in pannen; en zij deelden het haastelijk onder al het volk. 14Daarna bereidden zij ook voor zichzelven en voor de priesteren; want de priesters, de zonen van Aaron, waren tot aan den nacht in het offeren der brandofferen en des vets; daarom bereidden de Levieten voor zichzelven, en voor de priesteren, de zonen van Aaron. 15En de zangers, de zonen van Asaf, waren in hun standplaats, naar het gebod van David, en Asaf, en Heman, en Jeduthun, den ziener des konings, mitsgaders de poortiers aan elke poort; zij behoefden niet te wijken van hun dienst, overmits hun broeders, de Levieten, voor hen bereidden. 16Alzo werd de ganse dienst des HEEREN op denzelfden dag beschikt, om pascha te houden, en brandofferen op het altaar des HEEREN te offeren, naar het gebod van den koning Josia. 17En de kinderen Israels, die er gevonden werden, hielden het pascha ter zelfder tijd, en het feest der ongezuurde broden, zeven dagen. 18Daar was ook geen pascha als dat in Israel gehouden, van de dagen van Samuel, den profeet, af; en geen koningen van Israel hadden zulk een pascha gehouden, gelijk dat Josia hield met de priesters en de Levieten, en gans Juda en Israel, dat er gevonden werd, en de inwoners van Jeruzalem. 19In het achttiende jaar van het koninkrijk van Josia, werd dit pascha gehouden. 20Na dit alles, toen Josia het huis toebereid had, toog Necho, de koning van Egypte, op, om te krijgen tegen Karchemis, aan den Frath; en Josia toog uit hem tegemoet. 21Toen zond hij boden tot hem, zeggende: Wat heb ik met u te doen, gij, koning van Juda? Wat u aangaat, ik ben heden tegen u niet, maar tegen een huis, dat oorlog voert tegen mij; en God heeft gezegd, dat ik mij haasten zou; houd u af van God, Die met mij is, opdat Hij u niet verderve. 22Doch Josia keerde zijn aangezicht niet van hem; maar hij verstelde zich, om tegen hem te strijden, en hoorde niet naar de woorden van Necho uit den mond van God; maar hij kwam om te strijden in het dal Megiddo. 23En de schutters schoten den koning Josia. Toen zeide de koning tot zijn knechten: Voert mij weg, want ik ben zeer gewond. 24En zijn knechten namen hem weg van den wagen, en voerden hem op den tweeden wagen, dien hij had, en brachten hem te Jeruzalem; en hij stierf, en werd begraven in de graven zijner vaderen; en gans Juda en Jeruzalem bedreven rouw over Josia. 25En Jeremia maakte een klaaglied over Josia; desgelijks alle zangers en zangeressen spraken in hun klaagliederen van Josia, tot op dezen dag; want zij gaven ze tot een inzetting in Israel; en ziet, zij zijn geschreven in de klaagliederen. 26Het overige nu der geschiedenissen van Josia, en zijn goeddadigheden, naar dat geschreven is in de wet des HEEREN; 27Zijn geschiedenissen dan, de eerste en de laatste, ziet, die zijn geschreven in het boek der koningen van Israel en van Juda.
