1Palavra vista por Isaías, filho de Amoz, quanto a Judá e a Jerusalém: 2E acontecerá no últimos dias, que o monte da cada do SENHOR se firmará no cume dos montes, e se levantará por cima dos morros; e correrão em direção a ele todas as nações. 3E muitos povos irão, e dirão: Vinde, subamos ao monte do SENHOR, à casa do Deus de Jacó, para que ele nos ensine sobre seus caminhos, e andemos em suas veredas; Porque de Sião virá a Lei, e de Jerusalém a palavra do SENHOR. 4E ele julgará entre as nações, e repreenderá a muitos povos; e trocarão suas espadas em enxadas, e suas lanças em foices; não se levantará mais espada nação contra nação, nem aprenderão mais a fazer guerra. 5Casa de Jacó, vinde, e andemos à luz do SENHOR. 6Mas tu, SENHOR , desamparaste a teu povo, à casa de Jacó; porque se encheram dos costumes do oriente, e são místicos como os filisteus; e se associam a filhos de estrangeiros. 7A terra deles está cheia de prata e de ouro, e os tesouros deles não têm fim; a terra deles está cheia de cavalos, e as carruagens deles não têm fim. 8A terra deles também está cheia de ídolos; eles se inclinam perante as obras de suas próprias mãos, perante o que seus próprios dedos fizeram. 9Ali as pessoas se abatem, e os homens se humilham; por isso tu não os perdoarás. 10Entra nas rochas, e esconde-te no pó, por causa da temível presença do SENHOR, e da glória de sua majestade. 11Os olhos arrogantes dos homens serão abatidos, e o orgulho dos homens será humilhado; e só o SENHOR será exaltado naquele dia. 12Porque o dia do SENHOR dos exércitos será contra o soberbo e o arrogante; e contra todo de que se acha exaltado, para que seja abatido. 13E contra todos os cedros do Líbano, altos e elevados; e contra todos os carvalhos de Basã. 14E contra todos os altos montes, e contra todos os morros elevados. 15E contra toda torre alta, e contra todo muro fortificado. 16E contra todos os navios de Társis, e contra todas as pinturas desejadas. 17E a soberba do homem será humilhada, e o orgulho dos homens será abatido; e só o SENHOR será exaltado naquele dia. 18E todos os ídolos serão eliminados por completo. 19Então entrarão nas cavernas das rochas, e nos buracos da terra, por causa da temível presença do SENHOR, e por causa de sua majestade, quando ele se levantar, para espantar a terra. 20Naquele dia, o homem lançará seus ídolos de prata, e seus ídolos de ouro, que fizeram para se prostrarem diante deles, às toupeiras e aos morcegos. 21E se porão nas fendas das rochas, e nas cavernas das penhas, por causa da temível presença do SENHOR, e por causa da glória de sua majestade, quando ele se levantar para espantar a terra. 22Portanto, cessai de confiar no homem, cujo fôlego está em suas narinas; pois o que há nele que mereça se dar algum valor?
1This is what Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2It shall happen in the latter days, that the mountain of Yahweh’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be raised above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. 3Many peoples shall go and say, “Come, let’s go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For out of Zion the law shall go out, and Yahweh’s word from Jerusalem. 4He will judge between the nations, and will decide concerning many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. 5House of Jacob, come, and let us walk in the light of Yahweh. 6For you have forsaken your people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled from the east, with those who practice divination like the Philistines, and they clasp hands with the children of foreigners. 7Their land is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures. Their land also is full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots. 8Their land also is full of idols. They worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made. 9Man is brought low, and mankind is humbled; therefore don’t forgive them. 10Enter into the rock, and hide in the dust, from before the terror of Yahweh, and from the glory of his majesty. 11The lofty looks of man will be brought low, the haughtiness of men will be bowed down, and Yahweh alone will be exalted in that day. 12For there will be a day of Yahweh of Armies for all that is proud and haughty, and for all that is lifted up; and it shall be brought low: 13For all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, for all the oaks of Bashan, 14For all the high mountains, for all the hills that are lifted up, 15For every lofty tower, for every fortified wall, 16For all the ships of Tarshish, and for all pleasant imagery. 17The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; and Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day. 18The idols shall utterly pass away. 19Men shall go into the caves of the rocks, and into the holes of the earth, from before the terror of Yahweh, and from the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake the earth mightily. 20In that day, men shall cast away their idols of silver, and their idols of gold, which have been made for themselves to worship, to the moles and to the bats; 21To go into the caverns of the rocks, and into the clefts of the ragged rocks, from before the terror of Yahweh, and from the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake the earth mightily. 22Stop trusting in man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for of what account is he?
1Het woord, dat Jesaja, de zoon van Amoz, gezien heeft over Juda en Jeruzalem. 2En het zal geschieden in het laatste der dagen, dat de berg van het huis des HEEREN zal vastgesteld zijn op den top der bergen, en dat hij zal verheven worden boven de heuvelen, en tot denzelven zullen alle heidenen toevloeien. 3En vele volken zullen heengaan en zeggen: Komt, laat ons opgaan tot den berg des HEEREN, tot het huis van den God Jakobs, opdat Hij ons lere van Zijn wegen, en dat wij wandelen in Zijn paden; want uit Sion zal de wet uitgaan, en des HEEREN woord uit Jeruzalem. 4En Hij zal rechten onder de heidenen, en bestraffen vele volken; en zij zullen hun zwaarden slaan tot spaden, en hun spiesen tot sikkelen; het ene volk zal tegen het andere volk geen zwaard opheffen, en zij zullen geen oorlog meer leren. 5Komt, gij huis van Jakob, en laat ons wandelen in het licht des HEEREN. 6Maar Gij hebt Uw volk, het huis van Jakob, verlaten, want zij zijn vervuld met goddeloosheid, meer dan het oosten, en zij zijn guichelaars gelijk de Filistijnen, en aan de kinderen der vreemden tonen zij hun behagen. 7En hun land is vervuld met zilver en goud, en hunner schatten is geen einde; hun land is ook vervuld met paarden, en hunner wagenen is geen einde. 8Ook is hun land vervuld met afgoden; voor het werk hunner handen buigen zij zich neder, voor hetgeen hun vingeren gemaakt hebben. 9Daar bukt zich de gemene man, en de aanzienlijke man vernedert zich; daarom zult Gij het hun niet vergeven. 10Ga in den rotssteen, en verberg u in het stof, vanwege den schrik des HEEREN, en om de heerlijkheid Zijner majesteit. 11De hoge ogen de mensen zullen vernederd worden, en de hoogheid der mannen zal nedergebogen worden; en de HEERE alleen zal in dien dag verheven zijn. 12Want de dag des HEEREN der heirscharen zal zijn tegen allen hovaardige en hoge, en tegen allen verhevene, opdat hij vernederd worde; 13En tegen alle hoge en verhevene cederen van Libanon, en tegen alle eiken van Basan; 14En tegen alle hoge bergen, en tegen alle verhevene heuvelen; 15En tegen allen hogen toren, en tegen allen vasten muur; 16En tegen alle schepen van Tarsis, en tegen alle gewenste schilderijen. 17En de hoogheid der mensen zal gebogen, en de hoogheid der mannen zal vernederd worden; en de HEERE alleen zal in die dag verheven zijn. 18En elkeen der afgoden zal ganselijk vergaan. 19Dan zullen zij in de spelonken der rotsstenen gaan, en in de holen der aarde, vanwege den schrik des HEEREN, en vanwege de heerlijkheid Zijner majesteit, wanneer Hij Zich opmaken zal, om de aarde te verschrikken. 20In dien dag zal de mens zijn zilveren afgoden, en zijn gouden afgoden, welke zij zich gemaakt hadden, om zich daarvoor neder te buigen, wegwerpen voor de mollen en de vledermuizen; 21Gaande in de reten der rotsen en in de kloven der steenrotsen, vanwege den schrik des HEEREN, en vanwege de heerlijkheid Zijner majesteit, wanneer Hij Zich opmaken zal, om de aarde geweldiglijk te verschrikken. 22Laat gijlieden dan af van den mens, wiens adem in zijn neus is, want waarin is hij te achten?
