1Ed io, fratelli, non ho potuto parlarvi come a spirituali, ma ho dovuto parlarvi come a carnali, come a bambini in Cristo. 2V’ho nutriti di latte, non di cibo solido, perché non eravate ancora da tanto; anzi, non lo siete neppure adesso, perché siete ancora carnali. 3Infatti, poiché v’è tra voi gelosia e contesa, non siete voi carnali, e non camminate voi secondo l’uomo? 4Quando uno dice: Io son di Paolo; e un altro: Io son d’Apollo; non siete voi uomini carnali? 5Che cos’è dunque Apollo? E che cos’è Paolo? Son dei ministri, per mezzo dei quali voi avete creduto; e lo sono secondo che il Signore ha dato a ciascuno di loro. 6Io ho piantato, Apollo ha annaffiato, ma è Dio che ha fatto crescere; 7talché né colui che pianta né colui che annaffia sono alcun che, ma Iddio che fa crescere, è tutto. 8Ora, colui che pianta e colui che annaffia sono una medesima cosa, ma ciascuno riceverà il proprio premio secondo la propria fatica. 9Poiché noi siamo collaboratori di Dio, voi siete il campo di Dio, l’edificio di Dio. 10Io, secondo la grazia di Dio che m’è stata data, come savio architetto, ho posto il fondamento; altri vi edifica sopra. Ma badi ciascuno com’egli vi edifica sopra; 11poiché nessuno può porre altro fondamento che quello già posto, cioè Cristo Gesù. 12Ora, se uno edifica su questo fondamento oro, argento, pietre di valore, legno, fieno, paglia, 13l’opera d’ognuno sarà manifestata, perché il giorno di Cristo la paleserà; poiché quel giorno ha da apparire qual fuoco; e il fuoco farà la prova di quel che sia l’opera di ciascuno. 14Se l’opera che uno ha edificata sul fondamento sussiste, ei ne riceverà ricompensa; 15se l’opera sua sarà arsa, ei ne avrà il danno; ma egli stesso sarà salvo, però come attraverso il fuoco. 16Non sapete voi che siete il tempio di Dio, e che lo Spirito di Dio abita in voi? 17Se uno guasta il tempio di Dio, Iddio guasterà lui; poiché il tempio di Dio è santo; e questo tempio siete voi. 18Nessuno s’inganni. Se qualcuno fra voi s’immagina d’esser savio in questo secolo, diventi pazzo affinché diventi savio; 19perché la sapienza di questo mondo è pazzia presso Dio. Infatti è scritto: Egli prende i savi nella loro astuzia; 20e altrove: Il Signore conosce i pensieri dei savi, e sa che sono vani. 21Nessuno dunque si glori degli uomini, perché ogni cosa è vostra: 22e Paolo, e Apollo, e Cefa, e il mondo, e la vita, e la morte, e le cose presenti, e le cose future, tutto è vostro; 23e voi siete di Cristo, e Cristo è di Dio.
1Brothers, I couldn’t speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly, as to babies in Christ. 2I fed you with milk, not with meat; for you weren’t yet ready. Indeed, not even now are you ready, 3for you are still fleshly. For insofar as there is jealousy, strife, and factions among you, aren’t you fleshly, and don’t you walk in the ways of men? 4For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” aren’t you fleshly? 5Who then is Apollos, and who is Paul, but servants through whom you believed; and each as the Lord gave to him? 6I planted. Apollos watered. But God gave the increase. 7So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. 8Now he who plants and he who waters are the same, but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s farming, God’s building. 10According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another builds on it. But let each man be careful how he builds on it. 11For no one can lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or stubble; 13each man’s work will be revealed. For the Day will declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test what sort of work each man’s work is. 14If any man’s work remains which he built on it, he will receive a reward. 15If any man’s work is burned, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, but as through fire. 16Don’t you know that you are a temple of God, and that God’s Spirit lives in you? 17If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, which you are. 18Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. 19For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He has taken the wise in their craftiness.” 20And again, “The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless.” 21Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, 22whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours, 23and you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.

Maar een iegelijk zie toe, hoe hij daarop bouwe. 11Want niemand kan een ander fondament leggen, dan hetgeen gelegd is, hetwelk is Jezus Christus. 12En indien iemand op dit fondament bouwt: goud, zilver, kostelijke stenen, hout, hooi, stoppelen; 13Eens iegelijks werk zal openbaar worden; want de dag zal het verklaren, dewijl het door vuur ontdekt wordt; en hoedanig eens iegelijks werk is, zal het vuur beproeven. 14Zo iemands werk blijft, dat hij daarop gebouwd heeft, die zal loon ontvangen. 15Zo iemands werk zal verbrand worden, die zal schade lijden; maar zelf zal hij behouden worden, doch alzo als door vuur. 16Weet gij niet, dat gij Gods tempel zijt, en de Geest Gods in ulieden woont? 17Zo iemand den tempel Gods schendt, dien zal God schenden; want de tempel Gods is heilig, welke gij zijt. 18Niemand bedriege zichzelven. Zo iemand onder u dunkt, dat hij wijs is in deze wereld, die worde dwaas, opdat hij wijs moge worden. 19Want de wijsheid dezer wereld is dwaasheid bij God; want er is geschreven: Hij vat de wijzen in hun arglistigheid; 20En wederom: De Heere kent de overleggingen der wijzen, dat zij ijdel zijn. 21Niemand dan roeme op mensen; want alles is uwe. 22Hetzij Paulus, hetzij Apollos, hetzij Cefas, hetzij de wereld, hetzij leven, hetzij dood, hetzij tegenwoordige, hetzij toekomende dingen, zij zijn alle uwe. 23Doch gij zijt van Christus, en Christus is Gods.
