1Y EL primer día de la semana, muy de mañana, vinieron al sepulcro, trayendo las drogas aromáticas que habían aparejado, y algunas otras mujeres con ellas. 2Y hallaron la piedra revuelta del sepulcro. 3Y entrando, no hallaron el cuerpo del Señor Jesús. 4Y aconteció, que estando ellas espantadas de esto, he aquí se pararon junto á ellas dos varones con vestiduras resplandecientes; 5Y como tuviesen ellas temor, y bajasen el rostro á tierra, les dijeron: ¿Por qué buscáis entre los muertos al que vive? 6No está aquí, mas ha resucitado: acordaos de lo que os habló, cuando aun estaba en Galilea, 7Diciendo: Es menester que el Hijo del hombre sea entregado en manos de hombres pecadores, y que sea crucificado, y resucite al tercer día. 8Entonces ellas se acordaron de sus palabras, 9Y volviendo del sepulcro, dieron nuevas de todas estas cosas á los once, y á todos los demás. 10Y eran María Magdalena, y Juana, y María madre de Jacobo, y las demás con ellas, las que dijeron estas cosas á los apóstoles. 11Mas á ellos les parecían como locura las palabras de ellas, y no las creyeron. 12Pero levantándose Pedro, corrió al sepulcro: y como miró dentro, vió solos los lienzos echados; y se fué maravillándose de lo que había sucedido. 13Y he aquí, dos de ellos iban el mismo día á una aldea que estaba de Jerusalem sesenta estadios, llamada Emmaús. 14E iban hablando entre sí de todas aquellas cosas que habían acaecido. 15Y aconteció que yendo hablando entre sí, y preguntándose el uno al otro, el mismo Jesús se llegó, é iba con ellos juntamente. 16Mas los ojos de ellos estaban embargados, para que no le conociesen. 17Y díjoles: ¿Qué pláticas son estas que tratáis entre vosotros andando, y estáis tristes? 18Y respondiendo el uno, que se llamaba Cleofas, le dijo: ¿Tú sólo peregrino eres en Jerusalem, y no has sabido las cosas que en ella han acontecido estos días? 19Entonces él les dijo: ¿Qué cosas? Y ellos le dijeron: De Jesús Nazareno, el cual fué varón profeta, poderoso en obra y en palabra delante de Dios y de todo el pueblo; 20Y cómo le entregaron los príncipes de los sacerdotes y nuestros príncipes á condenación de muerte, y le crucificaron. 21Mas nosotros esperábamos que él era el que había de redimir á Israel: y ahora sobre todo esto, hoy es el tercer día que esto ha acontecido. 22Aunque también unas mujeres de los nuestros nos han espantado, las cuales antes del día fueron al sepulcro: 23Y no hallando su cuerpo, vinieron diciendo que también habían visto visión de ángeles, los cuales dijeron que él vive. 24Y fueron algunos de los nuestros al sepulcro, y hallaron así como las mujeres habían dicho; mas á él no le vieron. 25Entonces él les dijo: ¡Oh insensatos, y tardos de corazón para creer todo lo que los profetas han dicho! 26¿No era necesario que el Cristo padeciera estas cosas, y que entrara en su gloria? 27Y comenzando desde Moisés, y de todos los profetas, declarábales en todas las Escrituras lo que de él decían. 28Y llegaron á la aldea á donde iban: y él hizo como que iba más lejos. 29Mas ellos le detuvieron por fuerza, diciendo: Quédate con nosotros, porque se hace tarde, y el día ya ha declinado. Entró pues á estarse con ellos. 30Y aconteció, que estando sentado con ellos á la mesa, tomando el pan, bendijo, y partió, y dióles. 31Entonces fueron abiertos los ojos de ellos, y le conocieron; mas él se desapareció de los ojos de ellos. 32Y decían el uno al otro: ¿No ardía nuestro corazón en nosotros, mientras nos hablaba en el camino, y cuando nos abría las Escrituras? 33Y levantándose en la misma hora, tornáronse á Jerusalem, y hallaron á los once reunidos, y á los que estaban con ellos. 34Que decían: Ha resucitado el Señor verdaderamente, y ha aparecido á Simón. 35Entonces ellos contaban las cosas que les habían acontecido en el camino, y cómo había sido conocido de ellos al partir el pan. 36Y entre tanto que ellos hablaban estas cosas, él se puso en medio de ellos, y les dijo: Paz á vosotros. 37Entonces ellos espantados y asombrados, pensaban que veían espíritu. 38Mas él les dice: ¿Por qué estáis turbados, y suben pensamientos á vuestros corazones? 39Mirad mis manos y mis pies, que yo mismo soy: palpad, y ved; que el espíritu ni tiene carne ni huesos, como veis que yo tengo. 40Y en diciendo esto, les mostró las manos y los pies. 41Y no creyéndolo aún ellos de gozo, y maravillados, díjoles: ¿Tenéis aquí algo de comer? 42Entonces ellos le presentaron parte de un pez asado, y un panal de miel. 43Y él tomó, y comió delante de ellos. 44Y él les dijo: Estas son las palabras que os hablé, estando aún con vosotros: que era necesario que se cumpliesen todas las cosas que están escritas de mí en la ley de Moisés, y en los profetas, y en los salmos. 45Entonces les abrió el sentido, para que entendiesen las Escrituras; 46Y díjoles: Así está escrito, y así fué necesario que el Cristo padeciese, y resucitase de los muertos al tercer día; 47Y que se predicase en su nombre el arrepentimiento y la remisión de pecados en todas las naciones, comenzando de Jerusalem. 48Y vosotros sois testigos de estas cosas. 49Y he aquí, yo enviaré la promesa de mi Padre sobre vosotros: mas vosotros asentad en la ciudad de Jerusalem, hasta que seáis investidos de potencia de lo alto. 50Y sacólos fuera hasta Bethania, y alzando sus manos, los bendijo. 51Y aconteció que bendiciéndolos, se fué de ellos; y era llevado arriba al cielo. 52Y ellos, después de haberle adorado, se volvieron á Jerusalem con gran gozo; 53Y estaban siempre en el templo, alabando y bendiciendo á Dios. 1But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Jesus’ body. 4While they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing. 5Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. They said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee, 7saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again?” 8They remembered his words, 9returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest. 10Now they were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James. The other women with them told these things to the apostles. 11These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn’t believe them. 12But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened. 13Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia from Jerusalem. 14They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened. 15While they talked and questioned together, Jesus himself came near, and went with them. 16But their eyes were kept from recognizing him. 17He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?” 18One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?” 19He said to them, “What things?” They said to him, “The things concerning Jesus, the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people; 20and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him. 21But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened. 22Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb; 23and when they didn’t find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive. 24Some of us went to the tomb, and found it just like the women had said, but they didn’t see him.” 25He said to them, “Foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?” 27Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. 28They drew near to the village, where they were going, and he acted like he would go further. 29They urged him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over.” He went in to stay with them. 30When he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave to them. 31Their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, and he vanished out of their sight. 32They said one to another, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?” 33They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them, 34saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!” 35They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread. 36As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.” 37But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. 38He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.” 40When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. 41While they still didn’t believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” 42They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb. 43He took them, and ate in front of them. 44He said to them, “This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled.” 45Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures. 46He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48You are witnesses of these things. 49Behold, I send out the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.” 50He led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. 51While he blessed them, he withdrew from them, and was carried up into heaven. 52They worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
1En op den eersten dag der week, zeer vroeg in den morgenstond, gingen zij naar het graf, dragende de specerijen, die zij bereid hadden, en sommigen met haar. 2En zij vonden den steen afgewenteld van het graf. 3En ingegaan zijnde, vonden zij het lichaam van den Heere Jezus niet. 4En het geschiedde, als zij daarover twijfelmoedig waren, zie, twee mannen stonden bij haar in blinkende klederen. 5En als zij zeer bevreesd werden, en het aangezicht naar de aarde neigden, zeiden zij tot haar: Wat zoekt gij den Levende bij de doden? 6Hij is hier niet, maar Hij is opgestaan. Gedenkt, hoe Hij tot u gesproken heeft, als Hij nog in Galilea was, 7Zeggende: De Zoon des mensen moet overgeleverd worden in de handen der zondige mensen, en gekruisigd worden, en ten derden dage wederopstaan. 8En zij werden indachtig Zijner woorden. 9En wedergekeerd zijnde van het graf, boodschapten zij al deze dingen aan de elven, en aan al de anderen. 10En deze waren Maria Magdalena, en Johanna, en Maria, de moeder van Jakobus, en de andere met haar, die dit tot de apostelen zeiden. 11En haar woorden schenen voor hen als ijdel geklap, en zij geloofden haar niet. 12Doch Petrus opstaande, liep tot het graf, en nederbukkende, zag hij de linnen doeken, liggende alleen, en ging weg, zich verwonderende bij zichzelven van hetgeen geschied was. 13En zie, twee van hen gingen op denzelfden dag naar een vlek, dat zestig stadien van Jeruzalem was, welks naam was Emmaus; 14En zij spraken samen onder elkander van al deze dingen, die er gebeurd waren. 15En het geschiedde, terwijl zij samen spraken, en elkander ondervraagden, dat Jezus Zelf bij hen kwam, en met hen ging. 16En hun ogen werden gehouden, dat zij Hem niet kenden. 17En Hij zeide tot hen: Wat redenen zijn dit, die gij, wandelende, onder elkander verhandelt, en waarom ziet gij droevig? 18En de een, wiens naam was Kleopas, antwoordende, zeide tot Hem: Zijt Gij alleen een vreemdeling te Jeruzalem, en weet niet de dingen, die dezer dagen daarin geschied zijn? 19En Hij zeide tot hen: Welke? En zij zeiden tot Hem: De dingen aangaande Jezus den Nazarener, Welke een Profeet was, krachtig in werken en woorden, voor God en al het volk. 20En hoe onze overpriesters en oversten Denzelven overgeleverd hebben tot het oordeel des doods, en Hem gekruisigd hebben. 21En wij hoopten, dat Hij was Degene, Die Israel verlossen zou. Doch ook, benevens dit alles, is het heden de derde dag, van dat deze dingen geschied zijn. 22Maar ook sommige vrouwen uit ons hebben ons ontsteld, die vroeg in den morgenstond aan het graf geweest zijn; 23En Zijn lichaam niet vindende, kwamen zij en zeiden, dat zij ook een gezicht van engelen gezien hadden, die zeggen, dat Hij leeft. 24En sommigen dergenen, die met ons zijn, gingen heen tot het graf, en bevonden het alzo, gelijk ook de vrouwen gezegd hadden; maar Hem zagen zij niet. 25En Hij zeide tot hen: O onverstandigen en tragen van hart, om te geloven al hetgeen de profeten gesproken hebben! 26Moest de Christus niet deze dingen lijden, en alzo in Zijn heerlijkheid ingaan? 27En begonnen hebbende van Mozes en van al de profeten, legde Hij hun uit, in al de Schriften, hetgeen van Hem geschreven was. 28En zij kwamen nabij het vlek, daar zij naar toegingen; en Hij hield Zich, alsof Hij verder gaan zou. 29En zij dwongen Hem, zeggende: Blijf met ons; want het is bij den avond, en de dag is gedaald. En Hij ging in, om met hen te blijven. 30En het geschiedde, als Hij met hen aanzat, nam Hij het brood, en zegende het, en als Hij het gebroken had, gaf Hij het hun. 31En hun ogen werden geopend, en zij kenden Hem; en Hij kwam weg uit hun gezicht. 32En zij zeiden tot elkander: Was ons hart niet brandende in ons, als Hij tot ons sprak op den weg, en als Hij ons de Schriften opende? 33En zij, opstaande ter zelfder ure, keerden weder naar Jeruzalem, en vonden de elven samenvergaderd, en die met hen waren; 34Welke zeiden: De Heere is waarlijk opgestaan, en is van Simon gezien. 35En zij vertelden, hetgeen op den weg geschied was, en hoe Hij hun bekend was geworden in het breken des broods. 36En als zij van deze dingen spraken, stond Jezus Zelf in het midden van hen, en zeide tot hen: Vrede zij ulieden! 37En zij verschrikt en zeer bevreesd geworden zijnde, meenden, dat zij een geest zagen. 38En Hij zeide tot hen: Wat zijt gij ontroerd, en waarom klimmen zulke overleggingen in uw harten? 39Ziet Mijn handen en Mijn voeten; want Ik ben het Zelf; tast Mij aan, en ziet; want een geest heeft geen vlees en benen, gelijk gij ziet, dat Ik heb. 40En als Hij dit zeide, toonde Hij hun de handen en de voeten. 41En toen zij het van blijdschap nog niet geloofden, en zich verwonderden, zeide Hij tot hen: Hebt gij hier iets om te eten? 42En zij gaven Hem een stuk van een gebraden vis, en van honigraten. 43En Hij nam het, en at het voor hun ogen. 44En Hij zeide tot hen: Dit zijn de woorden, die Ik tot u sprak, als Ik nog met u was, namelijk dat het alles moest vervuld worden, wat van Mij geschreven is in de Wet van Mozes, en de Profeten, en Psalmen. 45Toen opende Hij hun verstand, opdat zij de Schriften verstonden. 46En zeide tot hen: Alzo is er geschreven, en alzo moest de Christus lijden, en van de doden opstaan ten derden dage. 47En in Zijn Naam gepredikt worden bekering en vergeving der zonden, onder alle volken, beginnende van Jeruzalem. 48En gij zijt getuigen van deze dingen. 49En ziet, Ik zende de belofte Mijns Vaders op u; maar blijft gij in de stad Jeruzalem, totdat gij zult aangedaan zijn met kracht uit de hoogte. 50En Hij leidde hen buiten tot aan Bethanie, en Zijn handen opheffende, zegende Hij hen. 51En het geschiedde, als Hij hen zegende, dat Hij van hen scheidde, en werd opgenomen in den hemel. 52En zij aanbaden Hem, en keerden weder naar Jeruzalem met grote blijdschap. 53En zij waren allen tijd in den tempel, lovende en dankende God.
