1Y OYENDO la reina de Seba la fama de Salomón, vino á Jerusalem con un muy grande séquito, con camellos cargados de aroma, y oro en abundancia, y piedras preciosas, para tentar á Salomón con preguntas difíciles. Y luego que vino á Salomón, habló con él todo lo que en su corazón tenía. 2Pero Salomón le declaró todas sus palabras: ninguna cosa quedó que Salomón no le declarase. 3Y viendo la reina de Seba la sabiduría de Salomón, y la casa que había edificado, 4Y las viandas de su mesa, y el asiento de sus siervos, y el estado de sus criados, y los vestidos de ellos, sus maestresalas y sus vestidos, y su subida por donde subía á la casa de Jehová, no quedó más espíritu en ella. 5Y dijo al rey: Verdad es lo que había oído en mi tierra de tus cosas y de tu sabiduría; 6Mas yo no creía las palabras de ellos, hasta que he venido, y mis ojos han visto: y he aquí que ni aun la mitad de la grandeza de tu sabiduría me había sido dicha; porque tú sobrepujas la fama que yo había oído. 7Bienaventurados tus hombres, y dichosos estos tus siervos, que están siempre delante de ti, y oyen tu sabiduría. 8Jehová tu Dios sea bendito, el cual se ha agradado en ti para ponerte sobre su trono por rey de Jehová tu Dios: por cuanto tu Dios amó á Israel para afirmarlo perpetuamente, por eso te ha puesto por rey sobre ellos, para que hagas juicio y justicia. 9Y dió al rey ciento y veinte talentos de oro, y gran copia de aromas, y piedras preciosas: nunca hubo tales aromas como los que dió la reina de Seba al rey Salomón. 10También los siervos de Hiram y los siervos de Salomón, que habían traído el oro de Ophir, trajeron madera de Algummim, y piedras preciosas. 11E hizo el rey de la madera de Algummim gradas en la casa de Jehová, y en las casas reales, y arpas y salterios para los cantores: nunca en tierra de Judá se había visto madera semejante. 12Y el rey Salomón dió á la reina de Seba todo lo que ella quiso y le pidió, más de lo que había traído al rey. Después se volvió y fuése á su tierra con sus siervos. 13Y el peso de oro que venía á Salomón cada un año, era seiscientos sesenta y seis talentos de oro, 14Sin lo que traían los mercaderes y negociantes; y también todos los reyes de Arabia y los príncipes de la tierra traían oro y plata á Salomón. 15Hizo también el rey Salomón doscientos paveses de oro de martillo, cada uno de los cuales tenía seiscientos siclos de oro labrado: 16Asimismo trescientos escudos de oro batido, teniendo cada escudo trescientos siclos de oro: y púsolos el rey en la casa del bosque del Líbano. 17Hizo además el rey un gran trono de marfil, y cubriólo de oro puro. 18Y había seis gradas al trono, con un estrado de oro al mismo, y brazos de la una parte y de la otra al lugar del asiento, y dos leones que estaban junto á los brazos. 19Había también allí doce leones sobre las seis gradas de la una parte y de la otra. Jamás fué hecho otro semejante en reino alguno. 20Toda la vajilla del rey Salomón era de oro, y toda la vajilla de la casa del bosque del Líbano, de oro puro. En los días de Salomón la plata no era de estima. 21Porque la flota del rey iba á Tharsis con los siervos de Hiram, y cada tres años solían venir las naves de Tharsis, y traían oro, plata, marfil, simios, y pavos. 22Y excedió el rey Salomón á todos los reyes de la tierra en riqueza y en sabiduría. 23Y todos los reyes de la tierra procuraban ver el rostro de Salomón, por oir su sabiduría, que Dios había puesto en su corazón: 24Y de éstos, cada uno traía su presente, vasos de plata, vasos de oro, vestidos, armas, aromas, caballos y acémilas, todos los años. 25Tuvo también Salomón cuatro mil caballerizas para los caballos y carros, y doce mil jinetes, los cuales puso en las ciudades de los carros, y con el rey en Jerusalem. 26Y tuvo señorío sobre todos los reyes desde el río hasta la tierra de los Filisteos, y hasta el término de Egipto. 27Y puso el rey plata en Jerusalem como piedras, y cedros como los cabrahigos que nacen por las campiñas en abundancia. 28Sacaban también caballos para Salomón, de Egipto y de todas las provincias. 29Lo demás de los hechos de Salomón, primeros y postreros, ¿no está todo escrito en los libros de Nathán profeta, y en la profecía de Ahías Silonita, y en las profecías del vidente Iddo contra Jeroboam hijo de Nabat? 30Y reinó Salomón en Jerusalem sobre todo Israel cuarenta años. 31Y durmió Salomón con sus padres, y sepultáronlo en la ciudad de David su padre: y reinó en su lugar Roboam su hijo.
1When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great train, and camels that bore spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she had come to Solomon, she talked with him of all that was in her heart. 2Solomon told her all her questions; and there was not anything hidden from Solomon which he didn’t tell her. 3When the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built, 4and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their clothing, his cup bearers also, and their clothing, and his ascent by which he went up to Yahweh’s house; there was no more spirit in her. 5She said to the king, “It was a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts, and of your wisdom. 6However I didn’t believe their words, until I came, and my eyes had seen it; and behold, the half of the greatness of your wisdom was not told me: you exceed the fame that I heard. 7Happy are your men, and happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you, and hear your wisdom. 8Blessed be Yahweh your God, who delighted in you, to set you on his throne, to be king for Yahweh your God: because your God loved Israel, to establish them forever, therefore made he you king over them, to do justice and righteousness.” 9She gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in great abundance, and precious stones: neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon. 10The servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious stones. 11The king made of the algum trees terraces for Yahweh’s house, and for the king’s house, and harps and stringed instruments for the singers: and there were none like these seen before in the land of Judah. 12King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides that which she had brought to the king. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants. 13Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold, 14besides that which the traders and merchants brought: and all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon. 15King Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of beaten gold went to one buckler. 16He made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three hundred shekels of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon. 17Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold. 18And there were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and stays on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the stays. 19Twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other on the six steps: there was nothing like it made in any kingdom. 20All king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: silver was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon. 21For the king had ships that went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram; once every three years came the ships of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks. 22So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom. 23All the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart. 24They brought every man his tribute, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and clothing, armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year. 25Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he stationed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem. 26He ruled over all the kings from the River even to the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt. 27The king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedars to be as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance. 28They brought horses for Solomon out of Egypt, and out of all lands. 29Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, aren’t they written in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat? 30Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years. 31Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
1En toen de koningin van Scheba het gerucht van Salomo hoorde, kwam zij, om Salomo met raadselen te verzoeken, te Jeruzalem, met een zeer zwaar heir, en kemelen, dragende specerijen en goud in menigte, en kostelijk gesteente; en zij kwam tot Salomo, en sprak met hem al wat in haar hart was. 2En Salomo verklaarde haar al haar woorden; en geen ding was er verborgen voor Salomo, dat hij haar niet verklaarde. 3Als nu de koningin van Scheba zag de wijsheid van Salomo, en het huis, dat hij gebouwd had, 4En de spijze zijner tafel, en het zitten zijner knechten, en het staan zijner dienaren, en hun kledingen, en zijn schenkers, en hun kledingen, en zijn opgang, waardoor hij opging in het huis des HEEREN, zo was in haar geen geest meer. 5En zij zeide tot den koning: Het is een waarachtig woord geweest, dat ik in mijn land gehoord heb, van uw zaken en van uw wijsheid. 6En ik heb hun woorden niet geloofd, totdat ik gekomen ben, en mijn ogen dat gezien hebben; en zie, de helft van de grootheid uwer wijsheid is mij niet aangezegd; gij hebt overtroffen het gerucht, dat ik gehoord heb. 7Welgelukzalig zijn uw mannen, en welgelukzalig deze uw knechten, die geduriglijk voor uw aangezicht staan, en uw wijsheid horen. 8Geloofd zij de HEERE, uw God, Die behagen in u gehad heeft, om u op Zijn troon, den HEERE, uw God, tot een koning te zetten; overmits uw God Israel bemint, om hetzelve tot in eeuwigheid op te richten, zo heeft Hij u tot een koning over hen gesteld, om recht en gerechtigheid te doen. 9En zij gaf de koning honderd en twintig talenten gouds, en specerijen in grote menigte, en kostelijk gesteente; en er was gelijk deze specerij, die de koningin van Scheba den koning Salomo gaf, geen geweest. 10Verder ook Hurams knechten, en Salomo's knechten, die goud brachten uit Ofir, brachten algummimhout en edelgesteente. 11En de koning maakte van dat algummimhout hoge gangen tot het huis des HEEREN en tot het huis des konings, mitsgaders harpen en luiten voor de zangers; desgelijks ook was te voren in het land van Juda niet geweest. 12En de koning Salomo gaf de koningin van Scheba al haar behagen, wat zij begeerde, behalve hetgeen zij tot den koning gebracht had; zo keerde zij, en toog naar haar land, zij en haar knechten. 13Het gewicht nu van het goud, dat voor Salomo op een jaar inkwam, was zeshonderd zes en zestig talenten gouds; 14Behalve dat zij van de kramers en de kooplieden inbrachten; ook brachten alle koningen van Arabie, en de vorsten deszelven lands, goud en zilver aan Salomo. 15Daartoe maakte de koning Salomo tweehonderd rondassen van geslagen goud; zeshonderd sikkelen van geslagen goud liet hij opwegen tot elke rondas. 16Insgelijks driehonderd schilden van geslagen goud; driehonderd sikkelen gouds liet hij opwegen tot elk schild; en de koning legde ze in het huis des wouds van den Libanon. 17Nog maakte de koning een groten elpenbenen troon, en hij overtoog denzelven met louter goud. 18En de troon had zes trappen en een voetbank van goud, aan den troon vast zijnde, en leuningen aan beide zijden, tot de zitplaats toe; en twee leeuwen stonden bij de leuningen. 19En twaalf leeuwen stonden daar aan beide zijden, op de zes trappen; desgelijks is in geen koninkrijk gemaakt geweest. 20Ook waren alle drinkvaten van den koning Salomo van goud, en alle vaten van het huis des wouds van den Libanon waren van gesloten goud; het zilver was in de dagen van Salomo niet voor iets geacht. 21Want des konings schepen voeren naar Tharsis, met de knechten van Huram; eens in drie jaren kwamen de schepen van Tharsis in, brengende goud, en zilver, elpenbeen, en apen, en pauwen. 22Alzo werd de koning Salomo groter dan alle koningen der aarde in rijkdom en wijsheid. 23En alle koningen der aarde zochten Salomo's aangezicht, om zijn wijsheid te horen, die God in zijn hart gegeven had. 24En zij brachten een ieder zijn geschenk, zilveren vaten, en gouden vaten, en klederen, harnas, en specerijen, paarden, en muilezelen, van elk van jaar tot jaar. 25Ook had Salomo vier duizend paardenstallen, en wagenen, en twaalf duizend ruiteren; en hij legde ze in de wagensteden, en bij den koning te Jeruzalem. 26En hij heerste over alle koningen, van de rivier tot aan het land der Filistijnen, en tot aan de landpale van Egypte. 27Ook maakte de koning het zilver in Jeruzalem te zijn als stenen, en de cederen maakte hij te zijn als de wilde vijgebomen, die in de laagte zijn, in menigte. 28En zij brachten voor Salomo paarden uit Egypte, en uit al die landen. 29Het overige nu der geschiedenissen van Salomo, der eerste en der laatste, zijn die niet geschreven in de woorden van Nathan, den profeet, en in de profetie van Ahia, den Siloniet, en in de gezichten van Jedi, den ziener, aangaande Jerobeam, den zoon van Nebat? 30En Salomo regeerde te Jeruzalem over gans Israel, veertig jaren. 31En Salomo ontsliep met zijn vaderen, en zij begroeven hem in de stad zijns vaders Davids; en zijn zoon Rehabeam werd koning in zijn plaats.
