1La Eternulo montris al mi: jen estas du korboj kun figoj, starigitaj antaŭ la templo de la Eternulo, post kiam Nebukadnecar, reĝo de Babel, forkondukis el Jerusalem Jeĥonjan, filon de Jehojakim, reĝon de Judujo, kaj la princojn de Judujo kaj la ĉarpentistojn kaj seruristojn, kaj venigis ilin en Babelon. 2Unu korbo estis kun figoj tre bonaj, kiel estas la figoj plej frue maturiĝintaj; la dua korbo estis kun figoj tre malbonaj, kiujn pro ilia malboneco oni ne povas manĝi. 3Kaj la Eternulo diris al mi: Kion vi vidas, Jeremia? Kaj mi respondis: Figojn; la bonaj figoj estas tre bonaj, kaj la malbonaj estas tre malbonaj, tiel, ke pro ilia malboneco oni ne povas ilin manĝi. 4Tiam aperis al mi la vorto de la Eternulo, dirante: 5Tiele diras la Eternulo, Dio de Izrael: Simile al ĉi tiuj bonaj figoj, Mi distingos por bono la forkondukitajn Judojn, kiujn Mi forsendis de ĉi tiu loko en la landon Ĥaldean; 6kaj Mi direktos sur ilin Miajn okulojn por bono, kaj Mi revenigos ilin en ĉi tiun landon, kaj Mi aranĝos ilin, ne ruinigos, Mi plantos ilin, ne elŝiros. 7Kaj Mi donos al ili koron, ke ili konu Min, ke Mi estas la Eternulo; ili estos Mia popolo, kaj Mi estos ilia Dio; ĉar ili konvertiĝos al Mi per sia tuta koro. 8Sed koncerne la malbonajn figojn, kiujn oni ne povas manĝi pro ilia malboneco, tiele diras la Eternulo: Al ili Mi similigos Cidkijan, reĝon de Judujo, kaj liajn princojn, kaj la restintajn Jerusalemanojn, kiuj restis en ĉi tiu lando kaj kiuj loĝas en la lando Egipta; 9kaj Mi donos al ili suferadon kaj mizeron en ĉiuj regnoj de la tero, Mi faros ilin objekto de honto, de ekzemplo, de moko, kaj de malbeno sur ĉiuj lokoj, kien Mi dispelos ilin; 10kaj Mi sendos sur ilin glavon, malsaton, kaj peston, ĝis Mi ekstermos ilin el la lando, kiun Mi donis al ili kaj al iliaj patroj.
1Yahweh showed me, and behold, two baskets of figs set before Yahweh’s temple, after that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the craftsmen and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon. 2One basket had very good figs, like the figs that are first-ripe; and the other basket had very bad figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad. 3Then Yahweh said to me, What do you see, Jeremiah? I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the bad, very bad, that can’t be eaten, they are so bad. 4Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 5Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: Like these good figs, so will I regard the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, for good. 6For I will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up. 7I will give them a heart to know me, that I am Yahweh: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God; for they shall return to me with their whole heart. 8As the bad figs, which can’t be eaten, they are so bad, surely thus says Yahweh, So will I give up Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, who remain in this land, and those who dwell in the land of Egypt, 9I will even give them up to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth for evil; to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I shall drive them. 10I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, until they be consumed from off the land that I gave to them and to their fathers.
1De HEERE deed mij zien, en ziet, er waren twee vijgenkorven, gezet voor den tempel des HEEREN; nadat Nebukadrezar, koning van Babel, gevankelijk had weggevoerd Jechonia, den zoon van Jojakim, den koning van Juda, mitsgaders de vorsten van Juda, en de timmerlieden, en de smeden van Jeruzalem, en hen te Babel gebracht had. 2In den enen korf waren zeer goede vijgen, als de eerste rijpe vijgen zijn; maar in den anderen korf waren zeer boze vijgen, die vanwege de boosheid niet konden gegeten worden. 3En de HEERE zeide tot mij: Wat ziet gij, Jeremia? En ik zeide: Vijgen; de goede vijgen zijn zeer goed, en de boze zeer boos, die vanwege de boosheid niet kunnen gegeten worden. 4Toen geschiedde des HEEREN woord tot mij, zeggende: 5Zo zegt de HEERE, de God Israels: Gelijk die goede vijgen, alzo zal Ik kennen de gevankelijk weggevoerden van Juda, die Ik uit deze plaats naar het land der Chaldeen heb weggeschikt, ten goede. 6En Ik zal Mijn oog op hen stellen ten goede, en zal hen wederbrengen in dit land; en Ik zal hen bouwen, en niet afbreken; en zal hen planten, en niet uitrukken. 7En Ik zal hun een hart geven om Mij te kennen, dat Ik de HEERE ben; en zij zullen Mij tot een volk zijn, en Ik zal hun tot een God zijn; want zij zullen zich tot Mij met hun ganse hart bekeren. 8En gelijk de boze vijgen, die vanwege de boosheid niet kunnen gegeten worden (want aldus zegt de HEERE), alzo zal Ik maken Zedekia, den koning van Juda, mitsgaders zijn vorsten, en het overblijfsel van Jeruzalem, die in dit land zijn overgebleven, en die in Egypteland wonen; 9En Ik zal hen overgeven tot een beroering ten kwade, allen koninkrijken der aarde; tot smaadheid, en tot een spreekwoord, tot een spotrede, en tot een vloek, in al de plaatsen, waarhenen Ik hen gedreven zal hebben; 10En Ik zal onder hen zenden het zwaard, den honger en de pestilentie, totdat zij verteerd zullen zijn uit het land, dat Ik hun en hun vaderen gegeven had.
