1La reĝo Aĥaŝveroŝ metis sub tributon la teron kaj la insulojn de la maro. 2La tuta historio pri lia forto kaj lia potenco, kaj la detaloj pri la grandeco de Mordeĥaj, kiun la reĝo grandigis, estas priskribitaj en la libro de kroniko de la reĝoj de Medujo kaj Persujo. 3Ĉar la Judo Mordeĥaj estis la dua post la reĝo Aĥaŝveroŝ, granda inter la Judoj kaj amata inter la multo de siaj fratoj, zorganta pri la bono de sia popolo kaj donanta pacon al sia tuta idaro.

1Daarna legde de koning Ahasveros schatting op het land, en de eilanden der zee. 2Al de werken nu zijner macht en zijns gewelds, en de verklaring der grootheid van Mordechai, denwelken de koning groot gemaakt heeft, zijn die niet geschreven in het boek der kronieken der koningen van Medie en Perzie? 3Want de Jood Mordechai was de tweede bij den koning Ahasveros, en groot bij de Joden, en aangenaam bij de menigte zijner broederen, zoekende het beste voor zijn volk, en sprekende voor den welstand van zijn ganse zaad.
