1Είπατε προς τους αδελφούς σας, Αμμί, και προς τας αδελφάς σας, Ρουχαμμά. 2Κρίθητε μετά της μητρός σας, κρίθητε· διότι αύτη δεν είναι γυνή μου και εγώ δεν είμαι ανήρ αυτής· ας αφαιρέση λοιπόν τας πορνείας αυτής απ' έμπροσθεν αυτής και τας μοιχείας αυτής εκ μέσου των μαστών αυτής· 3μήποτε εκδύσας γυμνώσω αυτήν και αποκαταστήσω αυτήν καθώς εν τη ημέρα της γεννήσεως αυτής, και θέσω αυτήν ως έρημον και καταστήσω αυτήν ως γην άνυδρον και θανατώσω αυτήν εν δίψη. 4Και δεν θέλω ελεήσει τα τέκνα αυτής· επειδή είναι τέκνα πορνείας. 5Διότι η μήτηρ αυτών επόρνευσεν· η συλλαβούσα αυτά έπραξεν αισχύνην· διότι είπε, Θέλω υπάγει κατόπιν των εραστών μου, οίτινες μοι δίδουσι τον άρτον μου και το ύδωρ μου, το μαλλίον μου και το λινάριόν μου, το έλαιόν μου και τα ποτά μου. 6Διά τούτο, ιδού, εγώ θέλω φράξει την οδόν σου με ακάνθας και οικοδομήσει φραγμόν, διά να μη εύρη τας οδούς αυτής. 7Και θέλει τρέξει κατόπιν των εραστών αυτής και δεν θέλει φθάσει αυτούς, και θέλει ζητήσει αυτούς και δεν θέλει ευρεί· τότε θέλει ειπεί, Θέλω υπάγει και επιστρέψει προς τον πρώτόν μου άνδρα· διότι καλήτερον ήτο τότε εις εμέ παρά τώρα. 8Και αυτή δεν εγνώριζεν ότι εγώ έδωκα εις αυτήν τον σίτον και τον οίνον και το έλαιον, και επλήθυνα το αργύριον εις αυτήν και το χρυσίον, με τα οποία κατεσκεύασαν τον Βάαλ. 9Διά τούτο θέλω επιστρέψει και λάβει τον σίτόν μου εν τω καιρώ αυτού και τον οίνόν μου εν τω διωρισμένω καιρώ αυτού, και θέλω αφαιρέσει το μαλλίον μου και το λινάριόν μου, τα οποία είχε διά να σκεπάζη την γύμνωσιν αυτής. 10Και τώρα θέλω αποκαλύψει την ακαθαρσίαν αυτής έμπροσθεν των εραστών αυτής, και ουδείς θέλει λυτρώσει αυτήν εκ της χειρός μου. 11Και θέλω καταπαύσει πάσαν την ευφροσύνην αυτής, τας εορτάς αυτής, τας νεομηνίας αυτής και τα σάββατα αυτής και πάσας τας πανηγύρεις αυτής. 12Και θέλω αφανίσει τας αμπέλους αυτής και τας συκάς αυτής, περί των οποίων είπε, Μισθώματά μου είναι ταύτα, τα οποία μοι έδωκαν οι ερασταί μου· και θέλω καταστήσει αυτάς δάσος, και τα θηρία του αγρού θέλουσι κατατρώγει αυτάς. 13Και θέλω επισκεφθή επ' αυτήν τας ημέρας των Βααλείμ, καθ' ας εθυμίαζεν εις αυτούς και εστολίζετο με τα ενώτια αυτής και τα περιδέραια αυτής και επορεύετο κατόπιν των εραστών αυτής, εμέ δε ελησμόνησε, λέγει Κύριος. 14Διά τούτο, ιδού, εγώ θέλω εφελκύσει αυτήν και θέλω φέρει αυτήν εις την έρημον και θέλω λαλήσει προς την καρδίαν αυτής. 15Και εκείθεν θέλω δώσει εις αυτήν τους αμπελώνας αυτής και την κοιλάδα του Αχώρ διά θύραν ελπίδος· και θέλει ψάλλει εκεί ως εν ταις ημέραις της νεότητος αυτής και ως εν τη ημέρα της αναβάσεως αυτής από γης Αιγύπτου. 16Και εν τη ημέρα εκείνη, λέγει Κύριος, θέλεις με καλέσει, Ο ανήρ μου· και δεν θέλεις με καλέσει πλέον, Ο Βάαλ μου· 17διότι θέλω αφαιρέσει τα ονόματα των Βααλείμ από του στόματος αυτής και δεν θέλουσιν αναφέρεσθαι πλέον τα ονόματα αυτών. 18Και εν τη ημέρα εκείνη θέλω κάμει διαθήκην υπέρ αυτών προς τα θηρία του αγρού και προς τα πετεινά του ουρανού και τα ερπετά της γής· τόξον δε και ρομφαίαν και πόλεμον θέλω συντρίψει εκ της γης και θέλω κατοικίσει αυτούς εν ασφαλεία. 19Και θέλω σε μνηστευθή εις εμαυτόν εις τον αιώνα· και θέλω σε μνηστευθή εις εμαυτόν εν δικαιοσύνη και εν κρίσει και εν ελέει και εν οικτιρμοίς· 20και θέλω σε μνηστευθή εις εμαυτόν εν πίστει· και θέλεις γνωρίσει τον Κύριον. 21Και εν εκείνη τη ημέρα θέλω αποκριθή, λέγει Κύριος, θέλω αποκριθή προς τους ουρανούς, και αυτοί θέλουσιν αποκριθή προς την γήν· 22και η γη θέλει αποκριθή προς τον σίτον και τον οίνον και το έλαιον· και ταύτα θέλουσιν αποκριθή προς τον Ιεζραέλ. 23Και θέλω σπείρει αυτήν δι' εμαυτόν επί της γής· και θέλω ελεήσει την ουκ ηλεημένην· και θέλω ειπεί προς τον ου λαόν μου, Λαός μου είσαι· και αυτοί θέλουσιν ειπεί, Θεός μου είσαι.

1“Say to your brothers, ‘My people!’ and to your sisters, ‘My loved one!’ 2Contend with your mother! Contend, for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband; and let her put away her prostitution from her face, and her adulteries from between her breasts; 3Lest I strip her naked, and make her bare as in the day that she was born, and make her like a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and kill her with thirst. 4Indeed, on her children I will have no mercy; for they are children of unfaithfulness; 5For their mother has played the prostitute. She who conceived them has done shamefully; for she said, ‘I will go after my lovers, who give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, my oil and my drink.’ 6Therefore behold, I will hedge up your way with thorns, and I will build a wall against her, that she can’t find her way. 7She will follow after her lovers, but she won’t overtake them; and she will seek them, but won’t find them. Then she will say, ‘I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.’ 8For she did not know that I gave her the grain, the new wine, and the oil, and multiplied to her silver and gold, which they used for Baal. 9Therefore I will take back my grain in its time, and my new wine in its season, and will pluck away my wool and my flax which should have covered her nakedness. 10Now I will uncover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and no one will deliver her out of my hand. 11I will also cause all her celebrations to cease: her feasts, her new moons, her Sabbaths, and all her solemn assemblies. 12I will lay waste her vines and her fig trees, about which she has said, ‘These are my wages that my lovers have given me; and I will make them a forest,’ and the animals of the field shall eat them. 13I will visit on her the days of the Baals, to which she burned incense, when she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and went after her lovers, and forgot me,” says Yahweh. 14“Therefore behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her. 15I will give her vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope; and she will respond there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt. 16It will be in that day,” says Yahweh, “that you will call me ‘my husband,’ and no longer call me ‘my master.’ 17For I will take away the names of the Baals out of her mouth, and they will no longer be mentioned by name. 18In that day I will make a covenant for them with the animals of the field, and with the birds of the sky, and with the creeping things of the ground. I will break the bow, the sword, and the battle out of the land, and will make them lie down safely. 19I will betroth you to me forever. Yes, I will betroth you to me in righteousness, in justice, in loving kindness, and in compassion. 20I will even betroth you to me in faithfulness; and you shall know Yahweh. 21It will happen in that day, I will respond,” says Yahweh, “I will respond to the heavens, and they will respond to the earth; 22and the earth will respond to the grain, and the new wine, and the oil; and they will respond to Jezreel. 23I will sow her to me in the earth; and I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; and I will tell those who were not my people, ‘You are my people;’ and they will say, ‘My God!’”

1Zegt tot uw broederen: Ammi, en tot uw zusteren: Ruchama. 2Twist tegen ulieder moeder, twist, omdat zij Mijn vrouw niet is, en Ik haar Man niet ben; en laat ze haar hoererijen van haar aangezicht, en haar overspelerijen van tussen haar borsten wegdoen. 3Opdat Ik ze niet naakt uitstrope, en zette ze als ten dage, toen zij geboren werd; ja, make ze als een woestijn, en zette ze als een dor land, en dode ze door dorst; 4En Mij harer kinderen niet ontferme, omdat zij kinderen der hoererijen zijn. 5Want hunlieder moeder hoereert, die henlieden ontvangen heeft, handelt schandelijk; want zij zegt: Ik zal mijn boelen nagaan, die mij mijn brood en mijn water, mijn wol en mijn vlas, mijn olie en mijn drank geven. 6Daarom, ziet, Ik zal uw weg met doornen betuinen, en Ik zal een heiningmuur maken, dat zij haar paden niet zal vinden. 7En zij zal haar boelen nalopen, maar dezelve niet aantreffen; en zij zal hen zoeken, maar niet vinden; dan zal zij zeggen: Ik zal henengaan, en keren weder tot mijn vorigen Man, want toen was mij beter dan nu. 8Zij bekent toch niet, dat Ik haar het koren, en den most, en de olie gegeven heb, en haar het zilver en goud vermenigvuldigd heb, dat zij tot den Baal gebruikt hebben. 9Daarom zal Ik wederkomen, en Mijn koren wegnemen op zijn tijd, en Mijn most op zijn gezetten tijd; en Ik zal wegrukken Mijn wol en Mijn vlas, dienende om haar naaktheid te bedekken. 10En nu zal Ik haar dwaasheid ontdekken voor de ogen harer boelen; en niemand zal haar uit Mijn hand verlossen. 11En Ik zal doen ophouden al haar vrolijkheid, haar feesten, haar nieuwe maanden, en haar sabbatten, ja, al haar gezette hoogtijden. 12En Ik zal verwoesten haar wijnstok en haar vijgeboom, waarvan zij zegt: Deze zijn mij een hoerenloon, dat mij mijn boelen gegeven hebben; maar Ik zal ze stellen tot een woud, en het wild gedierte des velds zal ze vreten. 13En Ik zal over haar bezoeken de dagen des Baals, waarin zij dien gerookt heeft, en zich versierd met haar voorhoofdsiersel, en haar halssieraad, en is haar boelen nagegaan, maar heeft Mij vergeten, spreekt de HEERE. 14Daarom, ziet, Ik zal haar lokken, en zal haar voeren in de woestijn; en Ik zal naar haar hart spreken. 15En Ik zal haar geven haar wijngaarden van daar af, en het dal Achor, tot een deur der hoop; en aldaar zal zij zingen, als in de dagen harer jeugd, en als ten dage, toen zij optoog uit Egypteland. 16En het zal te dien dage geschieden, spreekt de HEERE, dat gij Mij noemen zult: Mijn Man; en Mij niet meer noemen zult: Mijn Baal! 17En Ik zal de namen der Baals van haar mond wegdoen; zij zullen niet meer bij hun namen gedacht worden. 18En Ik zal te dien dage een verbond voor hen maken met het wild gedierte des velds, en met het gevogelte des hemels, en het kruipend gedierte des aardbodems; en Ik zal den boog, en het zwaard, en den krijg van de aarde verbreken, en zal hen in zekerheid doen nederliggen. 19En Ik zal u Mij ondertrouwen in eeuwigheid; ja, Ik zal u Mij ondertrouwen in gerechtigheid en in gericht, en in goedertierenheid en in barmhartigheden. 20En Ik zal u Mij ondertrouwen in geloof; en gij zult den HEERE kennen. 21En het zal te dien dage geschieden, dat Ik verhoren zal, spreekt de HEERE; Ik zal den hemel verhoren, en die zal de aarde verhoren. 22En de aarde zal het koren verhoren, mitsgaders den most en de olie; en die zullen Jizreel verhoren. 23En Ik zal ze Mij op de aarde zaaien, en zal Mij ontfermen over Lo-ruchama; en Ik zal zeggen tot Lo-ammi: Gij zijt Mijn volk; en dat zal zeggen: O, mijn God!
