1Τότε στρέψαντες ανέβημεν την οδόν την εις Βασάν· και εξήλθεν Ωγ ο βασιλεύς της Βασάν εις συνάντησιν ημών, αυτός και πας ο λαός αυτού, διά μάχην εις Εδρεΐ. 2Και είπε Κύριος προς εμέ, Μη φοβηθής αυτόν· διότι εις την χείρα σου παρέδωκα αυτόν και πάντα τον λαόν αυτού και την γην αυτού· και θέλεις κάμει εις αυτόν, ως έκαμες εις τον Σηών βασιλέα των Αμορραίων, όστις κατώκει εν Εσεβών. 3Και παρέδωκε Κύριος ο Θεός ημών εις την χείρα ημών και τον Ωγ, βασιλέα της Βασάν, και πάντα τον λαόν αυτού· και επατάξαμεν αυτόν, εωσού δεν αφήκαμεν εις αυτόν υπόλοιπον. 4Και εκυριεύσαμεν πάσας τας πόλεις αυτού κατ' εκείνον τον καιρόν· δεν εστάθη πόλις, την οποίαν δεν ελάβομεν απ' αυτών· εξήκοντα πόλεις, πάσαν την περίχωρον της Αργόβ, το βασίλειον του Ωγ εν Βασάν. 5Αι πόλεις αύται ήσαν πάσαι ωχυρωμέναι με τείχη υψηλά, με πύλας και μοχλούς· εκτός μεγάλου πλήθους ατειχίστων πόλεων. 6Και εξωλοθρεύσαμεν αυτάς, καθώς εκάμομεν εις τον Σηών βασιλέα της Εσεβών, εξολοθρεύοντες πάσαν πόλιν, άνδρας, γυναίκας και παιδία. 7Πάντα δε τα κτήνη και τα λάφυρα των πόλεων ελεηλατήσαμεν δι' εαυτούς. 8Και ελάβομεν κατ' εκείνον τον καιρόν από των χειρών των δύο βασιλέων των Αμορραίων την γην την εντεύθεν του Ιορδάνου, από του ποταμού Αρνών έως του όρους Αερμών· 9το Αερμών ονομάζουσιν οι Σιδώνιοι Σιριών, οι δε Αμορραίοι ονομάζουσιν αυτό Σενείρ· 10πάσας τας πόλεις της πεδιάδος και πάσαν την Γαλαάδ και πάσαν την Βασάν έως Σαλχά και Εδρεΐ, πόλεις του βασιλείου του Ωγ εν Βασάν. 11Διότι μόνος ο Ωγ βασιλεύς της Βασάν εσώζετο εκ του υπολοίπου των γιγάντων· ιδού, η κλίνη αυτού ήτο κλίνη σιδηρά· δεν σώζεται αύτη εν Ραββά των υιών Αμμών; εννέα πήχαι το μήκος αυτής και τέσσαρες πήχαι το πλάτος αυτής, κατά πήχην ανδρός. 12Και την γην εκείνην, την οποίαν εκυριεύσαμεν κατ' εκείνον τον καιρόν, από της Αροήρ, της παρά τον ποταμόν Αρνών, και το ήμισυ του όρους Γαλαάδ και τας πόλεις αυτού, έδωκα εις τους Ρουβηνίτας και εις τους Γαδίτας. 13Και το υπόλοιπον της Γαλαάδ και πάσαν την Βασάν, το βασίλειον του Ωγ, έδωκα εις το ήμισυ της φυλής του Μανασσή, πάσαν την περίχωρον της Αργόβ μετά πάσης της Βασάν, ήτις ωνομάζετο γη γιγάντων. 14Ιαείρ ο υιός του Μανασσή έλαβε πάσαν την περίχωρον της Αργόβ μέχρι των ορίων της Γεσσουρί και Μααχαθί· και ωνόμασεν αυτάς κατά το όνομα αυτού, Βασάν-αβώθ-ιαείρ, μέχρι της ημέρας ταύτης. 15Και εις τον Μαχείρ έδωκα την Γαλαάδ. 16Και εις τους Ρουβηνίτας και εις τους Γαδίτας έδωκα από Γαλαάδ έως του ποταμού Αρνών το μέσον του ποταμού, και το όριον και έως του ποταμού Ιαβόκ, του ορίου των υιών Αμμών· 17και την πεδιάδα και τον Ιορδάνην και το όριον από Χιννερώθ μέχρι της θαλάσσης της πεδιάδος, της αλμυράς θαλάσσης, υποκάτω της Ασδώθ-φασγά προς ανατολάς. 18Και προσέταξα εις εσάς κατ' εκείνον τον καιρόν, λέγων, Κύριος ο Θεός σας έδωκεν εις εσάς την γην ταύτην να κυριεύσητε αυτήν· θέλετε περάσει ώπλισμένοι ενώπιον των αδελφών σας των υιών Ισραήλ, πάντες οι άνδρες οι δυνατοί· 19πλην αι γυναίκές σας και τα παιδία σας και τα κτήνη σας, εξεύρω ότι έχετε κτήνη πολλά, θέλουσι μένει εις τας πόλεις σας, τας οποίας έδωκα εις εσάς· 20εωσού δώση ο Κύριος ανάπαυσιν εις τους αδελφούς σας, καθώς και εις εσάς, και κυριεύσωσι και αυτοί την γην, την οποίαν έδωκεν εις αυτούς Κύριος ο Θεός σας, εις το πέραν του Ιορδάνου· και τότε θέλετε επιστρέψει έκαστος εις την κληρονομίαν αυτού, την οποίαν έδωκα εις εσάς. 21Και κατ' εκείνον τον καιρόν προσέταξα εις τον Ιησούν λέγων, Οι οφθαλμοί σου είδον πάντα όσα Κύριος ο Θεός σας έκαμεν εις τους δύο τούτους βασιλείς· ούτω θέλει κάμει ο Κύριος εις πάντα τα βασίλεια, εις τα οποία διαβαίνεις· 22δεν θέλετε φοβηθή αυτούς· διότι Κύριος ο Θεός σας αυτός θέλει πολεμήσει υπέρ υμών. 23Και εδεήθην του Κυρίου κατ' εκείνον τον καιρόν, λέγων, 24Κύριε Θεέ, συ ήρχισας να δεικνύης εις τον δούλον σου την μεγαλωσύνην σου και την κραταιάν σου χείρα· διότι τις Θεός είναι εν τω ουρανώ ή εν τη γη όστις δύναται να κάμη κατά τα έργα σου και κατά την δύναμίν σου; 25ας διαβώ, δέομαι, και ας ίδω την γην την αγαθήν, την πέραν του Ιορδάνου, εκείνο το όρος το αγαθόν, και τον Λίβανον. 26Αλλ' ο Κύριος εθυμώθη εναντίον μου εξ αιτίας σας και δεν μου εισήκουσε· και είπε Κύριος προς εμέ, Αρκεί εις σέ· μη λαλήσης προς εμέ πλέον περί τούτου· 27ανάβα εις την κορυφήν του Φασγά και ύψωσον τους οφθαλμούς σου προς δυσμάς και βορράν και μεσημβρίαν και ανατολάς, και θεώρησον διά των οφθαλμών σου· διότι δεν θέλεις διαβή τον Ιορδάνην τούτον· 28και παράγγειλον εις τον Ιησούν και ενθάρρυνον αυτόν και ενίσχυσον αυτόν· διότι ούτος θέλει διαβή έμπροσθεν του λαού τούτου και ούτος θέλει κληροδοτήσει εις αυτούς την γην, την οποίαν θέλεις ιδεί. 29Και εκαθήμεθα εν τη κοιλάδι κατέναντι Βαιθ-φεγώρ.

1Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan. Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei. 2Yahweh said to me, “Don’t fear him; for I have delivered him, with all his people, and his land, into your hand. You shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.” 3So Yahweh our God delivered into our hand Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people. We struck him until no one was left to him remaining. 4We took all his cities at that time. There was not a city which we didn’t take from them; sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. 5All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars; besides a great many towns without walls. 6We utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones. 7But all the livestock, and the plunder of the cities, we took for plunder for ourselves. 8We took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon. 9(The Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir.) 10We took all the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, to Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. 11(For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the Rephaim. Behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron. Isn’t it in Rabbah of the children of Ammon? Nine cubits was its length, and four cubits its breadth, after the cubit of a man.) 12This land we took in possession at that time: from Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead, and its cities, gave I to the Reubenites and to the Gadites: 13and the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, gave I to the half-tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, even all Bashan. (The same is called the land of Rephaim. 14Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called them, even Bashan, after his own name, Havvoth Jair, to this day.) 15I gave Gilead to Machir. 16To the Reubenites and to the Gadites I gave from Gilead even to the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley, and its border, even to the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon; 17the Arabah also, and the Jordan and its border, from Chinnereth even to the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward. 18I commanded you at that time, saying, “Yahweh your God has given you this land to possess it. You shall pass over armed before your brothers the children of Israel, all the men of valor. 19But your wives, and your little ones, and your livestock, (I know that you have much livestock), shall live in your cities which I have given you, 20until Yahweh gives rest to your brothers, as to you, and they also possess the land which Yahweh your God gives them beyond the Jordan. Then you shall each return to his own possession, which I have given you.” 21I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, “Your eyes have seen all that Yahweh your God has done to these two kings. So shall Yahweh do to all the kingdoms where you go over. 22You shall not fear them; for Yahweh your God himself fights for you.” 23I begged Yahweh at that time, saying, 24“Lord Yahweh, you have begun to show your servant your greatness, and your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or in earth that can do works like yours, and mighty acts like yours? 25Please let me go over and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that fine mountain, and Lebanon.” 26But Yahweh was angry with me for your sakes, and didn’t listen to me. Yahweh said to me, “Let this satisfy you. Speak no more to me of this matter. 27Go up to the top of Pisgah, and lift up your eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and see with your eyes; for you shall not go over this Jordan. 28But commission Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you shall see.” 29So we stayed in the valley near Beth Peor.

1Daarna keerden wij ons en togen op, den weg van Bazan; en Og, de koning van Bazan, trok uit ons tegemoet, hij en al zijn volk, ten strijde bij Edrei. 2Toen zeide de HEERE tot mij: Vrees hem niet, want Ik heb hem, en al zijn volk, en zijn land, in uw hand gegeven; en gij zult hem doen, gelijk als gij Sihon, den koning der Amorieten, die te Hesbon woonde, gedaan hebt. 3En de HEERE, onze God, gaf ook Og, den koning van Bazan, en al zijn volk, in onze hand, zodat wij hem sloegen, totdat wij hem niemand lieten overblijven. 4En wij namen te dier tijd al zijn steden; er was geen stad, die wij van hen niet namen: zestig steden, de ganse landstreek van Argob, het koninkrijk van Og in Bazan. 5Al die steden waren met hoge muren, poorten en grendelen gesterkt, behalve zeer vele onbemuurde steden. 6En wij verbanden dezelve, gelijk wij Sihon, den koning van Hesbon, gedaan hadden, verbannende alle steden, mannen, vrouwen en kinderen. 7Doch al het vee en den roof van die steden roofden wij voor ons. 8Zo namen wij te dier tijd het land uit de hand van de twee koningen der Amorieten, die aan deze zijde van de Jordaan waren, van de beek Arnon tot den berg Hermon toe; 9(De Zidoniers noemen Hermon Sirjon; maar de Amorieten noemen hem Senir.) 10Al de steden des platten lands, en het ganse Gilead, en het ganse Bazan, tot Salcha en Edrei toe; steden des koninkrijks van Og in Bazan. 11Want Og, de koning van Bazan, was alleen van de overigen der reuzen overgebleven; ziet, zijn bedstede, zijnde een bedstede van ijzer, is zij niet te Rabba der kinderen Ammons? Negen ellen is haar lengte, en vier ellen haar breedte, naar eens mans elleboog. 12Ditzelfde land nu namen wij te dier tijd in bezit; van Aroer af, dat aan de beek Arnon is, en de helft van het gebergte van Gilead, met de steden van hetzelve, gaf ik aan de Rubenieten en Gadieten. 13En het overige van Gilead, mitsgaders het ganse Bazan, het koninkrijk van Og, gaf ik aan den halven stam van Manasse, de ganse landstreek van Argob, door het ganse Bazan; datzelve werd genoemd het land der reuzen. 14Jair, de zoon van Manasse, kreeg de ganse landstreek van Argob, tot aan de landpale der Gezurieten en Maachathieten; en hij noemde ze naar zijn naam, Bazan Havvoth-Jair, tot op dezen dag. 15En aan Machir gaf ik Gilead. 16Maar aan de Rubenieten en Gadieten gaf ik van Gilead af tot aan de beek Arnon, het midden van de beek en de landpale; en tot aan de beek Jabbok, de landpale der kinderen Ammons; 17Daartoe het vlakke veld, en de Jordaan, mitsgaders de landpale; van Cinnereth af tot aan de zee des vlakken velds, de Zoutzee, onder Asdoth-Pisga tegen het oosten. 18Voorts gebood ik ulieden ter zelfder tijd, zeggende: De HEERE, uw God, heeft u dit land gegeven om het te erven; allen dan, die strijdbare mannen zijt, trekt gewapend door voor het aangezicht van uw broederen, de kinderen Israels. 19Behalve uw vrouwen, en uw kinderkens, en uw vee (ik weet, dat gij veel vee hebt), zij zullen blijven in uw steden, die ik u gegeven heb; 20Totdat de HEERE uw broederen rust geve, gelijk ulieden, dat zij ook erven het land, dat de HEERE, uw God, hun geven zal aan gene zijde van de Jordaan; dan zult gij wederkeren, elk tot zijn erfenis, die ik u gegeven heb. 21Ook gebood ik Jozua ter zelfder tijd, zeggende: Uw ogen zien alles, wat de HEERE, ulieder God, aan deze twee koningen gedaan heeft; alzo zal de HEERE aan alle koninkrijken doen, naar welke gij henen doortrekt. 22Vreest ze niet; want de HEERE, uw God, strijdt voor ulieden. 23Ook bad ik den HEERE om genade, zeggende ter zelfder tijd: 24Heere HEERE! Gij hebt begonnen Uw knecht te tonen Uw grootheid en Uw sterke hand; want wat God is er in den hemel en op de aarde, die doen kan naar Uw werken, en naar Uw mogendheden! 25Laat mij toch overtrekken, en dat goede land bezien, dat aan gene zijde van de Jordaan is, dat goede gebergte, en den Libanon! 26Doch de HEERE verstoorde zich zeer om uwentwille over mij, en hoorde niet naar mij; maar de HEERE zeide tot mij: Het zij u genoeg; spreek niet meer tot Mij van deze zaak. 27Klim op de hoogte van Pisga, en hef uw ogen op naar het westen, en naar het noorden, en naar het zuiden, en naar het oosten, en zie toe met uw ogen; want gij zult over deze Jordaan niet gaan. 28Gebied dan Jozua, en versterk hem, en bekrachtig hem; want hij zal voor het aangezicht van dit volk henen overgaan, en zal hun dat land, dat gij zien zult, doen erven. 29Alzo bleven wij in dit dal tegenover Beth-Peor.
