1Ταύτα είναι τα διατάγματα και αι κρίσεις, τα οποία θέλετε προσέχει να εκτελήτε, εν τη γη την οποίαν Κύριος ο Θεός των πατέρων σου δίδει εις σε διά να κληρονομήσης αυτήν, πάσας τας ημέρας τας οποίας ζήτε επί της γης. 2Θέλετε καταστρέψει πάντας τους τόπους, όπου τα έθνη, τα οποία θέλετε κυριεύσει, ελάτρευον τους θεούς αυτών, επί τα υψηλά όρη και επί τους λόφους και υποκάτω παντός δένδρου δασέος. 3Και θέλετε κατεδαφίσει τους βωμούς αυτών και συντρίψει τας στήλας αυτών, και κατακαύσει εν πυρί τα άλση αυτών, και κατακόψει τα είδωλα των θεών αυτών, και εξαλείψει τα ονόματα αυτών εκ του τόπου εκείνου. 4Δεν θέλετε κάμει ούτως εις Κύριον τον Θεόν σας· 5αλλ' εν τω τόπω, όντινα Κύριος ο Θεός σας εκλέξη εκ πασών των φυλών σας, διά να θέση το όνομα αυτού εκεί, προς την κατοικίαν αυτού θέλετε ζητήσει αυτόν και εκεί θέλετε ελθεί· 6και εκεί θέλετε φέρει τα ολοκαυτώματά σας και τας θυσίας σας, και τα δέκατά σας και τας υψουμένας προσφοράς των χειρών σας και τας ευχάς σας και τας αυτοπροαιρέτους προσφοράς σας, και τα πρωτότοκα των βοών σας και των προβάτων σας· 7και εκεί θέλετε τρώγει ενώπιον Κυρίου του Θεού σας, και θέλετε ευφραίνεσθαι, σεις και οι οίκοί σας, εις όσα επιβάλετε τας χείρας σας, εις ό,τι Κύριος ο Θεός σου σε ηυλόγησε. 8Δεν θέλετε κάμνει κατά πάντα όσα ημείς κάμνομεν ενταύθα σήμερον, έκαστος ό,τι φανή αρεστόν εις τους οφθαλμούς αυτού. 9Διότι δεν ήλθετε έτι εις την ανάπαυσιν και εις την κληρονομίαν, την οποίαν δίδει εις εσάς Κύριος ο Θεός σας. 10Αλλ' όταν διαβήτε τον Ιορδάνην, και κατοικήσητε επί της γης, την οποίαν Κύριος ο Θεός σας δίδει εις εσάς να κληρονομήσητε, και δώση εις εσάς ανάπαυσιν από πάντων των εχθρών σας κύκλω, ώστε να κατοικήσητε μετά ασφαλείας, 11τότε εις τον τόπον, όντινα εκλέξη Κύριος ο Θεός σας, διά να κατοικίση εκεί το όνομα αυτού, εκεί θέλετε φέρει πάντα όσα εγώ προστάζω εις εσάς· τα ολοκαυτώματά σας, και τας θυσίας σας, τα δέκατά σας, και τας υψουμένας προσφοράς των χειρών σας, και πάσας τας εκλεκτάς ευχάς σας, όσας ευχηθήτε εις τον Κύριον· 12και θέλετε ευφραίνεσθαι ενώπιον Κυρίου του Θεού σας, σεις και οι υιοί σας και αι θυγατέρες σας και οι δούλοί σας και αι δούλαί σας, και ο Λευΐτης ο εντός των πυλών σας· διότι αυτός δεν έχει μερίδα ούτε κληρονομίαν με σας. 13Πρόσεχε εις σεαυτόν, μήποτε προσφέρης το ολοκαύτωμά σου εις πάντα τόπον, όντινα ίδης· 14αλλ' εις τον τόπον, όντινα εκλέξη ο Κύριος εν μιά των φυλών σου, εκεί θέλεις προσφέρει τα ολοκαυτώματά σου και εκεί θέλεις κάμνει πάντα όσα εγώ σε προστάζω. 15Δύνασαι όμως να σφάζης και να τρώγης κρέας εντός πασών των πυλών σου, κατά πάσαν την επιθυμίαν της ψυχής σου, κατά την ευλογίαν Κυρίου του Θεού σου την οποίαν σοι έδωκεν· ο ακάθαρτος και ο καθαρός δύνανται να τρώγωσιν εξ αυτού, καθώς την δορκάδα και καθώς την έλαφον. 16Πλην το αίμα δεν θέλετε τρώγει· επί την γην θέλετε χύνει αυτό ως ύδωρ. 17Δεν δύνασαι να τρώγης εντός των πυλών σου το δέκατον του σίτου σου ή του οίνου σου ή του ελαίου σου, ή τα πρωτότοκα των βοών σου ή των προβάτων σου, ουδέ καμμίαν των ευχών σου όσας ευχηθής, ουδέ τας αυτοπροαιρέτους προσφοράς σου, ή τας υψουμένας προσφοράς των χειρών σου. 18Αλλά πρέπει να τρώγης ταύτα ενώπιον Κυρίου του Θεού σου, εν τω τόπω όντινα εκλέξη Κύριος ο Θεός σου, συ, και ο υιός σου και η θυγάτηρ σου και ο δούλός σου και η δούλη σου και ο Λευΐτης ο εντός των πυλών σου· και θέλεις ευφραίνεσθαι ενώπιον Κυρίου του Θεού σου, εις όσα επιβάλης την χείρα σου. 19Πρόσεχε εις σεαυτόν, μήποτε εγκαταλίπης τον Λευΐτην, όσον χρόνον ζης επί της γης σου. 20Όταν Κύριος ο Θεός σου πλατύνη τα όριά σου, καθώς υπεσχέθη προς σε, και είπης, Θέλω φάγει κρέας, διότι επιθυμεί η ψυχή σου να φάγη κρέας, δύνασαι να τρώγης κρέας, κατά πάσαν την επιθυμίαν της ψυχής σου. 21Εάν ο τόπος, τον οποίον Κύριος ο Θεός σου εξέλεξε διά να θέση εκεί το όνομα αυτού, απέχη πολύ από σου, τότε θέλεις σφάζει εκ των βοών σου και εκ των προβάτων σου, τα οποία σοι έδωκεν ο Κύριος, καθώς εγώ προσέταξα εις εσάς, και θέλεις τρώγει εντός των πυλών σου κατά πάσαν την επιθυμίαν της ψυχής σου. 22Καθώς τρώγεται η δορκάς και η έλαφος, ούτω θέλεις τρώγει αυτά· ο ακάθαρτος και ο καθαρός θέλουσι τρώγει απ' αυτών εξ ίσου. 23Μόνον άπεχε ισχυρώς από του να φάγης το αίμα· διότι το αίμα είναι η ζωή· και δεν δύνασαι να φάγης την ζωήν μετά του κρέατος. 24Δεν θέλεις τρώγει αυτό· επί την γην θέλεις χύνει αυτό ως ύδωρ. 25Δεν θέλεις τρώγει αυτό· διά να ευημερής, συ και τα τέκνα σου μετά σε, όταν πράττης το αρεστόν ενώπιον του Κυρίου. 26Πλην τα αφιερώματά σου, όσα αν έχης, και τας ευχάς σου θέλεις λάβει και θέλεις υπάγει εις τον τόπον, όντινα εκλέξη ο Κύριος. 27Και θέλεις προσφέρει τα ολοκαυτώματά σου, το κρέας και το αίμα, επί του θυσιαστηρίου Κυρίου του Θεού σου· και το αίμα των θυσιών σου θέλει χυθή εις το θυσιαστήριον Κυρίου του Θεού σου, το δε κρέας θέλεις φάγει. 28Πρόσεχε και άκουε πάντας τους λόγους τούτους, τους οποίους εγώ προστάζω εις σέ· διά να ευημερής, συ και τα τέκνα σου μετά σε εις τον αιώνα, όταν πράττης το καλόν και το αρεστόν ενώπιον Κυρίου του Θεού σου. 29Όταν Κύριος ο Θεός σου εξολοθρεύση τα έθνη απ' έμπροσθέν σου, όπου υπάγεις διά να κληρονομήσης αυτά, και κληρονομήσης αυτά και κατοικήσης εν τη γη αυτών, 30πρόσεχε εις σεαυτόν, μήποτε παγιδευθής και ακολουθήσης αυτούς, αφού εξολοθρευθώσιν απ' έμπροσθέν σου· και μήποτε εξετάσης περί των θεών αυτών, λέγων, Πως ελάτρευον τα έθνη ταύτα τους θεούς αυτών; ούτω θέλω κάμει και εγώ. 31Δεν θέλεις κάμει ούτως εις Κύριον τον Θεόν σου· διότι παν βδέλυγμα, το οποίον ο Κύριος μισεί, έκαμον εις τους θεούς αυτών· επειδή και τους υιούς αυτών και τας θυγατέρας αυτών καίουσιν εν πυρί προς τους θεούς αυτών. 32Παν ό,τι προστάζω εγώ εις εσάς, τούτο προσέχετε να κάμνητε· δεν θέλεις προσθέσει εις αυτό ουδέ θέλεις αφαιρέσει απ' αυτού.

1These are the statutes and the ordinances which you shall observe to do in the land which Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has given you to possess it, all the days that you live on the earth. 2You shall surely destroy all the places in which the nations that you shall dispossess served their gods, on the high mountains, and on the hills, and under every green tree. 3You shall break down their altars, and dash their pillars in pieces, and burn their Asherah poles with fire. You shall cut down the engraved images of their gods. You shall destroy their name out of that place. 4You shall not do so to Yahweh your God. 5But to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose out of all your tribes, to put his name there, you shall seek his habitation, and there you shall come. 6There you shall bring your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the wave offering of your hand, your vows, your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herd and of your flock. 7There you shall eat before Yahweh your God, and you shall rejoice in all that you put your hand to, you and your households, in which Yahweh your God has blessed you. 8You shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatever is right in his own eyes; 9for you haven’t yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which Yahweh your God gives you. 10But when you go over the Jordan, and dwell in the land which Yahweh your God causes you to inherit, and he gives you rest from all your enemies around you, so that you dwell in safety; 11then it shall happen that to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there, there you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the wave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which you vow to Yahweh. 12You shall rejoice before Yahweh your God, you, and your sons, your daughters, your male servants, your female servants, and the Levite who is within your gates, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you. 13Be careful that you don’t offer your burnt offerings in every place that you see; 14but in the place which Yahweh chooses in one of your tribes, there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all that I command you. 15Notwithstanding, you may kill and eat flesh within all your gates, after all the desire of your soul, according to Yahweh your God’s blessing which he has given you. The unclean and the clean may eat of it, as of the gazelle, and as of the deer. 16Only you shall not eat the blood. You shall pour it out on the earth like water. 17You may not eat within your gates the tithe of your grain, or of your new wine, or of your oil, or the firstborn of your herd or of your flock, nor any of your vows which you vow, nor your freewill offerings, nor the wave offering of your hand; 18but you shall eat them before Yahweh your God in the place which Yahweh your God shall choose, you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, and the Levite who is within your gates. You shall rejoice before Yahweh your God in all that you put your hand to. 19Be careful that you don’t forsake the Levite as long as you live in your land. 20When Yahweh your God enlarges your border, as he has promised you, and you shall say, “I want to eat meat,” because your soul desires to eat meat; you may eat meat, after all the desire of your soul. 21If the place which Yahweh your God shall choose, to put his name there, is too far from you, then you shall kill of your herd and of your flock, which Yahweh has given you, as I have commanded you; and you may eat within your gates, after all the desire of your soul. 22Even as the gazelle and as the deer is eaten, so you shall eat of it. The unclean and the clean may eat of it alike. 23Only be sure that you don’t eat the blood; for the blood is the life. You shall not eat the life with the flesh. 24You shall not eat it. You shall pour it out on the earth like water. 25You shall not eat it; that it may go well with you, and with your children after you, when you shall do that which is right in the eyes of Yahweh. 26Only your holy things which you have, and your vows, you shall take, and go to the place which Yahweh shall choose. 27You shall offer your burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, on the altar of Yahweh your God; and the blood of your sacrifices shall be poured out on the altar of Yahweh your God; and you shall eat the flesh. 28Observe and hear all these words which I command you, that it may go well with you, and with your children after you forever, when you do that which is good and right in Yahweh your God’s eyes. 29When Yahweh your God cuts off the nations from before you, where you go in to dispossess them, and you dispossess them, and dwell in their land; 30be careful that you are not ensnared to follow them, after that they are destroyed from before you; and that you not inquire after their gods, saying, “How do these nations serve their gods? I will do likewise.” 31You shall not do so to Yahweh your God; for every abomination to Yahweh, which he hates, have they done to their gods; for they even burn their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods. 32Whatever thing I command you, that you shall observe to do. You shall not add to it, nor take away from it.

1Dit zijn de inzettingen en de rechten, die gijlieden zult waarnemen om te doen, in dat land, hetwelk u de HEERE, uwer vaderen God, gegeven heeft, om het te erven; al de dagen, die gijlieden op den aardbodem leeft. 2Gij zult ganselijk vernielen al de plaatsen, alwaar de volken, die gij zult erven, hun goden gediend hebben; op de hoge bergen, en op de heuvelen, en onder allen groenen boom. 3En gij zult hun altaren afwerpen, en hun opgerichte beelden verbreken, en hun bossen met vuur verbranden, en de gesneden beelden hunner goden nederhouwen; en gij zult hun naam te niet doen uit diezelve plaats. 4Gij zult den HEERE, uw God, alzo niet doen! 5Maar naar de plaats, die de HEERE, uw God, uit al uw stammen verkiezen zal, om Zijn Naam aldaar te zetten, naar Zijn woning zult gijlieden vragen, en daarheen zult gij komen; 6En daarheen zult gijlieden brengen uw brandofferen, en uw slachtofferen, en uw tienden, en het hefoffer uwer hand, en uw geloften, en uw vrijwillige offeren, en de eerstgeboorten uwer runderen en uwer schapen. 7En aldaar zult gijlieden voor het aangezicht des HEEREN, uws Gods, eten en vrolijk zijn, gijlieden en uw huizen, over alles, waaraan gij uw hand geslagen hebt, waarin u de HEERE, uw God, gezegend heeft. 8Gij zult niet doen naar alles, wat wij hier heden doen, een ieder al wat in zijn ogen recht is. 9Want gij zijt tot nu toe niet gekomen in de rust en in de erfenis, die de HEERE, uw God, u geven zal. 10Maar gij zult over de Jordaan gaan, en wonen in het land, dat u de HEERE, uw God, zal doen erven; en Hij zal u rust geven van al uw vijanden rondom, en gij zult zeker wonen. 11Dan zal er een plaats zijn, die de HEERE, uw God, verkiezen zal, om Zijn Naam aldaar te doen wonen; daarheen zult gij brengen alles, wat ik u gebiede: uw brandofferen, en uw slachtofferen, uw tienden, en het hefoffer uwer hand, en alle keur uwer geloften, die gij den HEERE beloven zult. 12En gij zult vrolijk zijn voor het aangezicht des HEEREN, uws Gods, gijlieden, en uw zonen, en uw dochteren, en uw dienstknechten, en uw dienstmaagden, en de Leviet, die in uw poorten is; want hij heeft geen deel noch erve met ulieden. 13Wacht u, dat gij uw brandofferen niet offert in alle plaats, die gij zien zult. 14Maar in de plaats, die de HEERE in een uwer stammen zal verkiezen, daar zult gij uw brandofferen offeren, en daar zult gij doen al wat ik u gebiede. 15Doch naar allen lust uwer ziel zult gij slachten en vlees eten, naar den zegen des HEEREN, uws Gods, dien Hij u geeft, in al uw poorten; de onreine en de reine zal daarvan eten, als van een ree, en als van een hert. 16Alleenlijk het bloed zult gijlieden niet eten; gij zult het op de aarde uitgieten als water. 17Gij zult in uw poorten niet mogen eten de tienden van uw koren, en van uw most, en van uw olie, noch de eerstgeboorten van uw runderen en van uw schapen, noch enige uwer geloften, die gij zult hebben beloofd, noch uw vrijwillige offeren, noch het hefoffer uwer hand. 18Maar gij zult dat eten voor het aangezicht des HEEREN, uws Gods, in de plaats, die de HEERE, uw God, verkiezen zal, gij, en uw zoon, en uw dochter, en uw dienstknecht, en uw dienstmaagd, en de Leviet, die in uw poorten is; en gij zult vrolijk zijn voor het aangezicht des HEEREN, uws Gods, over alles, waaraan gij uw handen geslagen hebt. 19Wacht u, dat gij den Leviet niet verlaat, al uw dagen in uw land. 20Wanneer de HEERE, uw God, uw landpale zal verwijd hebben, gelijk als Hij tot u gesproken heeft, en gij zeggen zult: Ik zal vlees eten; dewijl uw ziel lust heeft vlees te eten, zo zult gij vlees eten, naar allen lust uwer ziel. 21Zo de plaats, die de HEERE, uw God, verkiezen zal, om Zijn Naam aldaar te zetten, verre van u zal zijn, zo zult gij slachten van uw runderen en van uw schapen, die de HEERE u gegeven heeft, gelijk als ik u geboden heb; en gij zult eten in uw poorten, naar allen lust uwer ziel. 22Doch gelijk als een ree en een hert gegeten wordt, alzo zult gij dat eten; de onreine en de reine zullen het te zamen eten. 23Alleen houdt vast, dat gij het bloed niet eet; want het bloed is de ziel; daarom zult gij de ziel met het vlees niet eten; 24Gij zult dat niet eten; op de aarde zult gij het uitgieten als water; 25Gij zult dat niet eten; opdat het u, en uw kinderen na u, welga, als gij zult gedaan hebben, wat recht is in de ogen des HEEREN. 26Doch uw heilige dingen, die gij hebben zult, en uw geloften zult gij opnemen, en komen tot de plaats, die de HEERE verkiezen zal; 27En gij zult uw brandofferen, het vlees en het bloed, bereiden op het altaar des HEEREN, uws Gods; en het bloed uwer slachtofferen zal op het altaar des HEEREN, uws Gods, worden uitgegoten; maar het vlees zult gij eten. 28Neemt waar, en hoort al deze woorden, die ik u gebiede, opdat het u, en uw kinderen na u, welga tot in eeuwigheid, als gij zult gedaan hebben wat goed en recht is in de ogen des HEEREN, uws Gods. 29Wanneer de HEERE, uw God, voor uw aangezicht zal hebben uitgeroeid de volken, naar dewelke gij heengaat, om die erfelijk te bezitten; en gij die erfelijk zult bezitten, en in hun land wonen; 30Wacht u, dat gij niet verstrikt wordt achter hen, nadat zij voor uw aangezicht zullen verdelgd zijn; en dat gij niet vraagt naar hun goden, zeggende: Gelijk als deze volken hun goden gediend hebben, alzo zal ik ook doen. 31Gij zult alzo niet doen den HEERE, uw God; want al wat den HEERE een gruwel is, dat Hij haat, hebben zij hun goden gedaan; want zij hebben ook hun zonen en hun dochteren met vuur verbrand voor hun goden. 32Al dit woord, hetwelk ik ulieden gebiede, zult gij waarnemen om te doen; gij zult daar niet toedoen, en daarvan niet afdoen.
