Αμώς 2

1Ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Διά τας τρεις παραβάσεις του Μωάβ και διά τας τέσσαρας δεν θέλω αποστρέψει την τιμωρίαν αυτού· διότι κατέκαυσε τα οστά του βασιλέως του Εδώμ μέχρι κονίας· 2αλλά θέλω εξαποστείλει πυρ επί τον Μωάβ και θέλει καταφάγει τα παλάτια της Κιριώθ· και ο Μωάβ θέλει αποθάνει μετά θορύβου, μετά κραυγής, μετ' ήχου σάλπιγγος. 3Και θέλω εξολοθρεύσει τον κριτήν εκ μέσου αυτού, και θέλω αποκτείνει πάντας τους άρχοντας αυτού μετ' αυτού, λέγει Κύριος. 4Ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Διά τας τρεις παραβάσεις του Ιούδα και διά τας τέσσαρας δεν θέλω αποστρέψει την τιμωρίαν αυτού, διότι κατεφρόνησαν τον νόμον του Κυρίου και δεν εφύλαξαν τα προστάγματα αυτού και επλάνησαν αυτούς τα μάταια αυτών, κατόπιν των οποίων περιεπάτησαν οι πατέρες αυτών· 5αλλά θέλω εξαποστείλει πυρ επί τον Ιούδαν και θέλει καταφάγει τα παλάτια της Ιερουσαλήμ. 6Ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Διά τας τρεις παραβάσεις του Ισραήλ και διά τας τέσσαρας δεν θέλω αποστρέψει την τιμωρίαν αυτού διότι επώλησαν τον δίκαιον δι' αργύριον και τον πένητα διά ζεύγος υποδημάτων· 7οίτινες ποθούσι να βλέπωσι την κόνιν της γης επί την κεφαλήν των πτωχών και εκκλίνουσι την οδόν των πενήτων· και υιός και πατήρ αυτού υπάγουσι προς την αυτήν παιδίσκην, διά να βεβηλόνωσι το όνομα το άγιόν μου· 8και πλαγιάζουσι πλησίον παντός θυσιαστηρίου επί ενδυμάτων ενεχυριασμένων, και πίνουσιν εν τω οίκω των θεών αυτών τον οίνον των καταδυναστευομένων. 9Αλλ' εγώ εξωλόθρευσα τον Αμορραίον απ' έμπροσθεν αυτών, του οποίου το ύψος ήτο ως το ύψος των κέδρων και αυτός ισχυρός ως αι δρύς· και ηφάνισα τον καρπόν αυτού επάνωθεν και τας ρίζας αυτού υποκάτωθεν. 10Και εγώ σας ανεβίβασα εκ γης Αιγύπτου και σας περιέφερον τεσσαράκοντα έτη διά της ερήμου, διά να κληρονομήσητε την γην του Αμορραίου. 11Και ανέστησα εκ των υιών σας διά προφήτας και εκ των νεανίσκων σας διά Ναζηραίους. Δεν είναι ούτως, υιοί Ισραήλ; λέγει Κύριος. 12Σεις δε εποτίζετε τους Ναζηραίους οίνον και προσετάξατε τους προφήτας λέγοντες, Μη προφητεύσητε. 13Ιδού, εγώ θέλω καταθλίψει υμάς εν τω τόπω υμών, καθώς καταθλίβεται η άμαξα η πλήρης δραγμάτων. 14Και η φυγή θέλει χαθή από του δρομέως και ο ανδρείος δεν θέλει στερεώσει την ισχύν αυτού και ο ισχυρός δεν θέλει διασώσει την ψυχήν αυτού, 15και ο τοξότης δεν θέλει δυνηθή να σταθή· και ο ταχύπους να εκφύγη και ο ιππεύς να σώση την ζωήν αυτού, 16και ο μεταξύ των δυνατών γενναιοκάρδιος γυμνός θέλει φύγει εν εκείνη τη ημέρα, λέγει Κύριος.

1Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Moab, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime; 2but I will send a fire on Moab, and it will devour the palaces of Kerioth; and Moab will die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet; 3and I will cut off the judge from their midst, and will kill all its princes with him,” says Yahweh. 4Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Judah, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they have rejected Yahweh’s law, and have not kept his statutes, and their lies have led them astray, after which their fathers walked; 5But I will send a fire on Judah, and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem.” 6Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Israel, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they have sold the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; 7They trample on the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and deny justice to the oppressed; and a man and his father use the same maiden, to profane my holy name; 8and they lay themselves down beside every altar on clothes taken in pledge; and in the house of their God they drink the wine of those who have been fined. 9Yet I destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath. 10Also I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and led you forty years in the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite. 11I raised up some of your sons for prophets, and some of your young men for Nazirites. Isn’t this true, you children of Israel?” says Yahweh. 12“But you gave the Nazirites wine to drink, and commanded the prophets, saying, ‘Don’t prophesy!’ 13Behold, I will crush you in your place, as a cart crushes that is full of grain. 14Flight will perish from the swift; and the strong won’t strengthen his force; neither shall the mighty deliver himself; 15neither shall he stand who handles the bow; and he who is swift of foot won’t escape; neither shall he who rides the horse deliver himself; 16and he who is courageous among the mighty will flee away naked on that day,” says Yahweh.

1Alzo zegt de HEERE: Om drie overtredingen van Moab, en om vier zal Ik dat niet afwenden; omdat hij de beenderen des konings van Edom tot kalk verbrand heeft. 2Daarom zal Ik een vuur in Moab zenden, dat zal de paleizen van Kerioth verteren; en Moab zal sterven met groot gedruis, met gejuich, met geluid der bazuin. 3En Ik zal den rechter uit het midden van haar uitroeien; en al haar vorsten zal Ik met hem doden, zegt de HEERE. 4Alzo zegt de HEERE: Om drie overtredingen van Juda, en om vier zal Ik dat niet afwenden; omdat zij de wet des HEEREN verworpen, en Zijn inzettingen niet bewaard hebben; en hun leugenen hen verleid hebben, die hun vaders hebben nagewandeld. 5Daarom zal Ik een vuur in Juda zenden, dat zal Jeruzalems paleizen verteren. 6Alzo zegt de HEERE: Om drie overtredingen van Israel, en om vier zal Ik dat niet afwenden; omdat zij den rechtvaardige voor geld verkopen, en den nooddruftige om een paar schoenen. 7Die er naar hijgen, dat het stof der aarde op het hoofd der armen zij, en den weg der zachtmoedigen verkeren; en de man en zijn vader gaan tot een jonge dochter om Mijn heiligen Naam te ontheiligen. 8En zij leggen zich neder bij elk altaar op de verpande klederen, en drinken den wijn der geboeten in het huis van hun goden. 9Ik daarentegen heb den Amoriet voor hunlieder aangezicht verdelgd, wiens hoogte was als de hoogte der cederen, en hij was sterk als de eiken; maar Ik heb zijn vrucht van boven, en zijn wortelen van onderen verdelgd. 10Ook heb Ik ulieden uit Egypteland opgevoerd; en Ik heb u veertig jaren in de woestijn geleid, opdat gij het land van den Amoriet erfelijk bezat. 11En Ik heb sommigen uit uw zonen tot profeten verwekt, en uit uw jongelingen tot Nazireen; is dit niet alzo, gij kinderen Israels? spreekt de HEERE. 12Maar gijlieden hebt aan de Nazireen wijn te drinken gegeven, en gij hebt den profeten geboden zeggende: Gij zult niet profeteren. 13Ziet, Ik zal uw plaatsen drukken, gelijk als een wagen drukt, die vol garven is. 14Zodat de snelle niet zal ontvlieden, en de sterke zijn kracht niet verkloeken, en een held zal zijn ziel niet bevrijden. 15En die den boog handelt, zal niet bestaan, en die licht is op zijn voeten, zal zich niet bevrijden; ook zal, die te paard rijdt, zijn ziel niet bevrijden. 16En de kloekhartigste onder de helden zal te dien dage naakt heenvlieden, spreekt de HEERE.
