Αμώς 1

1Οι λόγοι του Αμώς, όστις ήτο εκ των βοσκών της Θεκουέ, τους οποίους είδε περί του Ισραήλ εν ταις ημέραις Οζίου βασιλέως του Ιούδα, και εν ταις ημέραις Ιεροβοάμ, υιού του Ιωάς βασιλέως του Ισραήλ, δύο έτη προ του σεισμού. 2Και είπεν, Ο Κύριος θέλει βρυχήσει εκ Σιών και θέλει εκπέμψει την φωνήν αυτού εξ Ιερουσαλήμ· και αι κατοικίαι των ποιμένων θέλουσι πενθήσει, και η κορυφή του Καρμήλου θέλει ξηρανθή. 3Ούτω λέγει Κύριος· διά τας τρεις παραβάσεις της Δαμασκού και διά τας τέσσαρας δεν θέλω αποστρέψει την τιμωρίαν αυτής, διότι ηλώνισαν την Γαλαάδ με τριβόλους σιδηρούς· 4αλλά θέλω εξαποστείλει πυρ εις τον οίκον Αζαήλ και θέλει καταφάγει τα παλάτια του Βεν-αδάδ. 5Και θέλω συντρίψει τους μοχλούς της Δαμασκού και εξολοθρεύσει τον κάτοικον από της πεδιάδος Αβέν και τον κρατούντα το σκήπτρον από του οίκου Εδέν, και ο λαός της Συρίας θέλει φερθή αιχμάλωτος εις Κιρ, λέγει Κύριος. 6Ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Διά τας τρεις παραβάσεις της Γάζης και διά τας τέσσαρας δεν θέλω αποστρέψει την τιμωρίαν αυτής· διότι ηχμαλώτισαν τον λαόν μου αιχμαλωσίαν τελείαν, διά να παραδώσωσιν αυτούς εις τον Εδώμ· 7αλλά θέλω εξαποστείλει πυρ εις το τείχος της Γάζης και θέλει καταφάγει τα παλάτια αυτής. 8Και θέλω εξολοθρεύσει τον κάτοικον από της Αζώτου και τον κρατούντα το σκήπτρον από της Ασκάλωνος, και θέλω στρέψει την χείρα μου εναντίον της Ακκαρών και το υπόλοιπον των Φιλισταίων θέλει απολεσθή, λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός. 9Ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Διά τας τρεις παραβάσεις της Τύρου και διά τας τέσσαρας δεν θέλω αποστρέψει την τιμωρίαν αυτής· διότι παρέδωκαν τον λαόν μου εις αιχμαλωσίαν τελείαν εις τον Εδώμ και δεν ενεθυμήθησαν την αδελφικήν συνθήκην· 10αλλά θέλω εξαποστείλει πυρ εις το τείχος της Τύρου και θέλει καταφάγει τα παλάτια αυτής. 11Ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Διά τας τρεις παραβάσεις του Εδώμ και διά τας τέσσαρας δεν θέλω αποστρέψει την τιμωρίαν αυτού, διότι κατεδίωξε τον αδελφόν αυτού εν ρομφαία και ηθέτησε την ευσπλαγχνίαν αυτού, και ο θυμός αυτού κατεσπάραττεν ακαταπαύστως και εφύλαττε την οργήν αυτού παντοτεινά· 12αλλά θέλω εξαποστείλει πυρ επί Θαιμάν και θέλει καταφάγει τα παλάτια της Βοσόρρας. 13Ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Διά τας τρεις παραβάσεις των υιών Αμμών και διά τας τέσσαρας δεν θέλω αποστρέψει την τιμωρίαν αυτού, διότι διέσχιζον τας εγκυμονούσας της Γαλαάδ, διά να πλατύνωσι το όριον αυτών· 14αλλά θέλω ανάψει πυρ εις το τείχος της Ραββά και θέλει καταφάγει τα παλάτια αυτής, μετά κραυγής εν τη ημέρα της μάχης, μετά ανεμοστροβίλου εν τη ημέρα της θυέλλης. 15Και ο βασιλεύς αυτών θέλει υπάγει εις αιχμαλωσίαν, αυτός και οι άρχοντες αυτού ομού, λέγει Κύριος.

1The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake. 2He said: “Yahweh will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the pastures of the shepherds will mourn, and the top of Carmel will wither.” 3Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Damascus, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron; 4but I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, and it will devour the palaces of Ben Hadad. 5I will break the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the valley of Aven, and him who holds the scepter from the house of Eden; and the people of Syria shall go into captivity to Kir,” says Yahweh. 6Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Gaza, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they carried away captive the whole community, to deliver them up to Edom; 7but I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, and it will devour its palaces. 8I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon; and I will turn my hand against Ekron; and the remnant of the Philistines will perish,” says the Lord Yahweh. 9Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Tyre, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they delivered up the whole community to Edom, and didn’t remember the brotherly covenant; 10but I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, and it will devour its palaces.” 11Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Edom, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because he pursued his brother with the sword, and cast off all pity, and his anger raged continually, and he kept his wrath forever; 12but I will send a fire on Teman, and it will devour the palaces of Bozrah.” 13Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they have ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead, that they may enlarge their border. 14But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it will devour its palaces, with shouting in the day of battle, with a storm in the day of the whirlwind; 15and their king will go into captivity, he and his princes together,” says Yahweh.

1De woorden van Amos, die onder de veeherderen was van Thekoa, dewelke hij gezien heeft over Israel, in de dagen van Uzzia, koning van Juda, en in de dagen van Jerobeam, zoon van Joas, koning van Israel; twee jaren voor de aardbeving. 2En hij zeide: De HEERE zal brullen uit Sion, en Zijn stem verheffen uit Jeruzalem; en de woningen der herderen zullen treuren, en de hoogte van Karmel zal verdorren. 3Alzo zegt de HEERE: Om drie overtredingen van Damaskus, en om vier zal Ik dat niet afwenden; omdat zij Gilead met ijzeren dorswagens hebben gedorst. 4Daarom zal Ik een vuur in het huis van Hazael zenden, dat zal de paleizen van Benhadad verteren. 5En Ik zal den grendel van Damaskus verbreken, en zal uitroeien den inwoner van Bikeat-Aven, en dien, die den scepter houdt, uit Beth-Eden; en het volk van Syrie zal gevankelijk weggevoerd worden naar Kir, zegt de HEERE. 6Alzo zegt de HEERE: Om drie overtredingen van Gaza, en om vier zal Ik dat niet afwenden; omdat zij Mijn volk gevankelijk hebben weggevoerd met een volkomen wegvoering, om aan Edom over te leveren. 7Daarom zal Ik een vuur zenden in den muur van Gaza, dat zal haar paleizen verteren. 8En Ik zal den inwoner uitroeien uit Asdod, en dien, die den scepter houdt, uit Askelon; en Ik zal Mijn hand wenden tegen Ekron, en het overblijfsel der Filistijnen zal vergaan, zegt de Heere HEERE. 9Alzo zegt de HEERE: Om drie overtredingen van Tyrus, en om vier zal Ik dat niet afwenden; omdat zij Mijn volk met een volkomen wegvoering hebben overgeleverd aan Edom, en niet gedacht aan het verbond der broederen. 10Daarom zal Ik een vuur zenden in den muur van Tyrus, dat zal haar paleizen verteren. 11Alzo zegt de HEERE: Om drie overtredingen van Edom, en om vier zal Ik dat niet afwenden; omdat hij zijn broederen met het zwaard heeft vervolgd, en zijn barmhartigheden verdorven; en dat zijn toorn eeuwiglijk verscheurt, en hij zijn verbolgenheid altoos behoudt. 12Daarom zal Ik een vuur zenden in Theman, dat zal de paleizen van Bozra verteren. 13Alzo zegt de HEERE: Om drie overtredingen der kinderen Ammons, en om vier zal Ik dat niet afwenden; omdat zij de zwangere vrouwen van Gilead hebben opengesneden, om hun landpale te verwijden. 14Daarom zal Ik een vuur aansteken in den muur van Rabba, dat zal haar paleizen verteren; met een gejuich ten dage des strijds, met een onweder ten dage des wervelwinds. 15En hunlieder koning zal gaan in gevangenis, hij en zijn vorsten te zamen, zegt de HEERE.
