1Tito jsou příběhové Aronovi a Mojžíšovi od toho dne, když mluvil Hospodin s Mojžíšem na hoře Sinai. 2A tato jsou jména synů Aronových: Prvorozený Nádab, potom Abiu, Eleazar a Itamar. 3Ta jsou jména synů Aronových, kněží pomazaných, jejichžto ruce naplněny, aby úřad kněžství konali. 4Umřel pak Nádab a Abiu před Hospodinem, když obětovali cizí oheň před Hospodinem na poušti Sinai, a neměli synů. Protož konal úřad kněžský Eleazar a Itamar před tváří Arona otce svého. 5Mluvil pak Hospodin k Mojžíšovi, řka: 6Rozkaž přistoupiti pokolení Léví, a postav je před Aronem knězem, aby mu přisluhovali, 7A drželi stráž jeho, i stráž všeho množství před stánkem úmluvy k vykonávání služby příbytku, 8Též aby ostříhali všeho nádobí stánku úmluvy, a drželi stráž synů Izraelských a konali služby příbytku. 9Dáš tedy Levíty Aronovi i synům jeho; vlastně dáni jsou mu oni z synů Izraelských. 10Arona pak a syny jeho představíš, aby ostříhali kněžství svého; nebo přistoupil-li by kdo cizí, umře. 11I mluvil Hospodin Mojžíšovi, řka: 12Aj, já vzal jsem Levíty z prostředku synů Izraelských na místo všelikého prvorozeného, kteréž otvírá život mezi syny Izraelskými. Protož moji budou Levítové. 13Nebo mně přináleží všecko prvorozené. Od toho dne, když jsem pobil všecko prvorozené v zemi Egyptské, posvětil jsem sobě všeho prvorozeného v Izraeli od člověka až do hovada. Mně bude: Já Hospodin. 14Mluvil také Hospodin k Mojžíšovi na poušti Sinai, řka: 15Sečti syny Léví vedlé domů otců jejich, po čeledech jejich, každého pohlaví mužského; zstáří jednoho měsíce a výše počítati budeš je. 16I sčetl je Mojžíš podlé řeči Hospodinovy, jakž rozkázáno mu bylo. 17I byli synové Léví ze jména tito: Gerson, Kahat a Merari. 18Tato pak jsou jména synů Gersonových po čeledech jejich: Lebni a Semei. 19A synové Kahat po čeledech svých: Amram a Izar, Hebron a Uziel. 20Synové pak Merari po čeledech svých: Moholi a Musi. Ty jsou čeledi Léví vedlé domů otců svých. 21Od Gersona čeled Lebnitská a čeled Semejská. Ty jsou čeledi Gersonovy. 22A načteno jich v počtu všech pohlaví mužského zstáří jednoho měsíce a výše sedm tisíců a pět set. 23Čeledi Gersonovy za příbytkem klásti se budou k straně západní. 24Kníže pak domu otce Gersonitských bude Eliazaf, syn Laelův. 25A k opatrování synům Gersonovým při stánku úmluvy náležeti bude příbytek i stánek, přikrytí jeho i zastření dveří stánku úmluvy, 26A očkovaté koltry k síni, i zavěšení dveří síně, kteráž jest před příbytkem a při oltáři vůkol, i provazové jeho ke všeliké potřebě jeho. 27Od Kahat pak pošla čeled Amramitská a čeled Izaritská, a čeled Hebronitská, a čeled Uzielitská. Ty jsou čeledi Kahat. 28V počtu všech pohlaví mužského zstáří jednoho měsíce a výše bylo osm tisíců a šest set, držících stráž při svatyni. 29Čeledi synů Kahat klásti se budou k straně příbytku polední, 30A kníže domu otcovského v čeledech Kahat Elizafan, syn Uzielův. 31V jejich pak opatrování bude truhla, stůl, svícen, oltářové a nádobí svatyně, jímž přisluhovati budou, a opona i všecko, což přináleží k ní. 32Kníže pak nad knížaty Levítskými Eleazar, syn Arona kněze, ustavený nad těmi, kteříž drží stráž při svatyni. 33Od Merari pak čeled Moholitská a čeled Musitská. Ty jsou čeledi Merari. 34A načteno jich v počtu všech mužského pohlaví zstáří jednoho měsíce a výše šest tisíců a dvě stě. 35A kníže domu otcovského v čeledech Merari Suriel, syn Abichailův. A ti klásti se budou k straně příbytku půlnoční. 36Toto pak poručeno k opatrování synům Merari: Dsky příbytku a svlakové jeho, sloupové a podstavkové a všecka nádobí jeho i všecka práce při nich, 37Tolikéž sloupové síně vůkol i podstavkové jejich, kolíkové i provazové jejich. 38Položí se pak před příbytkem po přední straně před stánkem úmluvy od východu slunce Mojžíš a Aron i synové jeho, držíce stráž při svatyni, stráž za syny Izraelské. Jiný přistoupil-li by kdo, umře. 39Všech sečtených Levítů, kteréž sečtl Mojžíš s Aronem vedlé poručení Hospodinova, po čeledech jejich, všech pohlaví mužského jednoho měsíce zstáří a výše dvamecítma tisíců. 40I řekl Hospodin k Mojžíšovi: Sečti všecky prvorozené mužského pohlaví mezi syny Izraelskými jednoho měsíce zstáří a výše, a sečti summu jmen jejich. 41A vezmeš mi Levíty, (jáť jsem Hospodin,) místo všech prvorozených mezi syny Izraelskými, i hovada Levítů místo všeho prvorozeného mezi hovady synů Izraelských. 42Když pak sčetl Mojžíš, jakož mu přikázal Hospodin, všecky prvorozené mezi syny Izraelskými, 43Bylo všech prvorozených pohlaví mužského vedlé počtu jmen, jednoho měsíce zstáří a výše sečtených jich, dvamecítma tisíců, dvě stě, sedmdesáte a tři. 44A mluvil Hospodin k Mojžíšovi, řka: 45Vezmi Levíty místo všech prvorozených z synů Izraelských, i hovada Levítů za hovada jejich; i budou moji Levítové: Já jsem Hospodin. 46K vyplacení pak těch dvou set, sedmdesáti a tří, kteříž zbývají nad počet Levítů z prvorozených synů Izraelských, 47Vezmeš pět lotů z každé hlavy, (vedlé lotu svatyně bráti budeš, lot pak dvadceti haléřů váží), 48A dáš ty peníze Aronovi a synům jeho, výplatu těch, kteříž zbývají nad počet jejich. 49Vzal tedy Mojžíš peníze výplaty od těch, kteříž zbývali, kromě těch, kteréž vykoupili sebou Levítové, 50Od prvorozených synů Izraelských vzal peněz tisíc, tři sta, šedesáte pět lotů, vedlé lotu svatyně. 51I dal ty peníze výplaty Aronovi a synům jeho, podlé řeči Hospodinovy, jakož byl přikázal jemu Hospodin.

1Now this is the history of the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that Yahweh spoke with Moses in Mount Sinai. 2These are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. 3These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests who were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest’s office. 4Nadab and Abihu died before Yahweh, when they offered strange fire before Yahweh, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children. They are wholly given to him on the behalf of the children of Israel. 10You shall appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall keep their priesthood. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death.” 11Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 12“Behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the firstborn who open the womb among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be mine: 13for all the firstborn are mine. On the day that I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I made holy to me all the firstborn in Israel, both man and animal. They shall be mine. I am Yahweh.” 14Yahweh spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying, 15“Count the children of Levi by their fathers’ houses, by their families. You shall count every male from a month old and upward.” 16Moses numbered them according to Yahweh’s word, as he was commanded. 17These were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari. 18These are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei. 19The sons of Kohath by their families: Amram, and Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. 20The sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers’ houses. 21Of Gershon was the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimeites: these are the families of the Gershonites. 22Those who were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, even those who were numbered of them were seven thousand five hundred. 23The families of the Gershonites shall encamp behind the tabernacle westward. 24The prince of the fathers’ house of the Gershonites shall be Eliasaph the son of Lael. 25The duty of the sons of Gershon in the Tent of Meeting shall be the tabernacle, and the tent, its covering, and the screen for the door of the Tent of Meeting, 26and the hangings of the court, and the screen for the door of the court, which is by the tabernacle, and around the altar, and its cords for all of its service. 27Of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites: these are the families of the Kohathites. 28According to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, there were eight thousand six hundred, keeping the requirements of the sanctuary. 29The families of the sons of Kohath shall encamp on the south side of the tabernacle. 30The prince of the fathers’ house of the families of the Kohathites shall be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel. 31Their duty shall be the ark, the table, the lamp stand, the altars, the vessels of the sanctuary with which they minister, and the screen, and all its service. 32Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be prince of the princes of the Levites, with the oversight of those who keep the requirements of the sanctuary. 33Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites, and the family of the Mushites. These are the families of Merari. 34Those who were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand two hundred. 35The prince of the fathers’ house of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail. They shall encamp on the north side of the tabernacle. 36The appointed duty of the sons of Merari shall be the tabernacle’s boards, its bars, its pillars, its sockets, all its instruments, all its service, 37the pillars of the court around it, their sockets, their pins, and their cords. 38Those who encamp before the tabernacle eastward, in front of the Tent of Meeting toward the sunrise, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the requirements of the sanctuary for the duty of the children of Israel. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death. 39All who were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of Yahweh, by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty-two thousand. 40Yahweh said to Moses, “Number all the firstborn males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names. 41You shall take the Levites for me (I am Yahweh) instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel; and the livestock of the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the livestock of the children of Israel.” 42Moses numbered, as Yahweh commanded him, all the firstborn among the children of Israel. 43All the firstborn males according to the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those who were numbered of them, were twenty-two thousand two hundred seventy-three. 44Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 45“Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the livestock of the Levites instead of their livestock; and the Levites shall be mine. I am Yahweh. 46For the redemption of the two hundred seventy-three of the firstborn of the children of Israel, who exceed the number of the Levites, 47you shall take five shekels apiece for each one; after the shekel of the sanctuary you shall take them (the shekel is twenty gerahs): 48and you shall give the money, with which their remainder is redeemed, to Aaron and to his sons.” 49Moses took the redemption money from those who exceeded the number of those who were redeemed by the Levites; 50from the firstborn of the children of Israel he took the money, one thousand three hundred sixty-five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary: 51and Moses gave the redemption money to Aaron and to his sons, according to Yahweh’s word, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

14En de HEERE sprak tot Mozes in de woestijn van Sinai, zeggende: 15Tel de zonen van Levi naar het huis hunner vaderen, naar hun geslachten, al wat mannelijk is, van een maand oud en daarboven, die zult gij tellen. 16En Mozes telde hen naar het bevel des HEEREN, gelijk hem geboden was. 17Dit nu waren de zonen van Levi met hun namen: Gerson, en Kahath, en Merari. 18En dit zijn de namen der zonen van Gerson, naar hun geslachten: Libni en Simei. 19En de zonen van Kahath, naar hun geslachten; Amram en Izhar, Hebron en Uzziel. 20En de zonen van Merari, naar hun geslachten: Maheli en Musi; dit zijn de geslachten der Levieten, naar het huis hunner vaderen. 21Van Gerson was het geslacht der Libnieten, en het geslacht der Simeieten; dit zijn de geslachten der Gersonieten. 22Hun getelden in getal waren van al wat mannelijk was, van een maand oud en daarboven; hun getelden waren zeven duizend en vijfhonderd. 23De geslachten der Gersonieten zullen zich legeren achter den tabernakel, westwaarts. 24De overste nu van het vaderlijke huis der Gersonieten zal zijn Eljasaf, de zoon van Lael. 25En de wacht der zonen van Gerson in de tent der samenkomst zal zijn de tabernakel en de tent, haar deksel, en het deksel aan de deur van de tent der samenkomst; 26En de behangselen des voorhofs, en het deksel van de deur des voorhofs, welke bij den tabernakel en bij het altaar rondom zijn; mitsgaders de zelen, tot zijn gansen dienst. 27En van Kahath is het geslacht der Amramieten, en het geslacht der Izharieten, en het geslacht der Hebronieten, en het geslacht der Uzzielieten; dit zijn de geslachten der Kahathieten. 28In getal van al wat mannelijk was, van een maand oud en daarboven, waren acht duizend en zeshonderd, waarnemende de wacht des heiligdoms. 29De geslachten der zonen van Kahath zullen zich legeren aan de zijde des tabernakels, zuidwaarts. 30De overste nu van het vaderlijke huis der geslachten van de Kahathieten, zal zijn Elisafan, de zoon van Uzziel. 31Hun wacht nu zal zijn de ark, en de tafel, en de kandelaar, en de altaren en het gereedschap des heiligdoms, met hetwelk zij dienst doen, en het deksel, en al wat tot zijn dienst behoort. 32De overste nu der oversten van Levi zal zijn Eleazar, de zoon van Aaron, den priester; zijn opzicht zal zijn over degenen, die de wacht des heiligdoms waarnemen. 33Van Merari is het geslacht der Mahelieten, en het geslacht der Musieten; dit zijn de geslachten van Merari. 34En hun getelden in getal van al wat mannelijk was, van een maand oud en daarboven, waren zes duizend en tweehonderd. 35De overste nu van het vaderlijke huis der geslachten van Merari zal zijn Zuriel, de zoon van Abihail; zij zullen zich legeren aan de zijde des tabernakels, noordwaarts. 36En het opzicht der wachten van de zonen van Merari zal zijn over de berderen des tabernakels, en zijn richelen, en zijn pilaren, en zijn voeten, en al zijn gereedschap, en al wat tot zijn dienst behoort; 37En de pilaren des voorhofs rondom, en hun voeten, en hun pennen, en hun zelen. 38Die nu zich legeren zullen voor den tabernakel oostwaarts, voor de tent der samenkomst, tegen den opgang, zullen zijn Mozes, en Aaron met zijn zonen, waarnemende de wacht des heiligdoms, voor de wacht der kinderen Israels; en de vreemde die nadert, zal gedood worden. 39Alle getelden der Levieten, welke Mozes en Aaron, op het bevel des HEEREN, naar hun geslachten, geteld hebben, al wat mannelijk was, van een maand oud en daarboven, waren twee en twintig duizend. 40En de HEERE zeide tot Mozes: Tel alle eerstgeborenen, wat mannelijk is onder de kinderen Israels, van een maand oud en daarboven; en neem het getal hunner namen op. 41En gij zult voor Mij de Levieten nemen (Ik ben de HEERE!), in plaats van alle eerstgeborenen onder de kinderen Israels, en de beesten der Levieten, in plaats van alle eerstgeborenen onder de beesten der kinderen Israels. 42Mozes dan telde, gelijk als de HEERE hem geboden had, alle eerstgeborenen onder de kinderen Israels. 43En alle eerstgeborenen, die mannelijk waren, in het getal der namen, van een maand oud en daarboven, naar hun getelden, waren twee en twintig duizend tweehonderd en drie en zeventig. 44En de HEERE sprak tot Mozes, zeggende: 45Neem de Levieten, in plaats van alle eerstgeboorte onder de kinderen Israels, en de beesten der Levieten, in plaats van hun beesten; want de Levieten zullen Mijn zijn; Ik ben de HEERE! 46Aangaande de tweehonderd drie en zeventig, die gelost zullen worden, die overschieten, boven de Levieten, van de eerstgeborenen van de kinderen Israels; 47Gij zult voor elk hoofd vijf sikkels nemen; naar den sikkel des heiligdoms zult gij ze nemen; die sikkel is twintig gera. 48En gij zult dat geld aan Aaron en zijn zonen geven, het geld der gelosten die onder hen overschieten. 49Toen nam Mozes dat losgeld van degenen, die overschoten boven de gelosten door de Levieten. 50Van de eerstgeborenen van de kinderen Israels nam hij dat geld, duizend driehonderd vijf en zestig sikkelen, naar den sikkel des heiligdoms. 51En Mozes gaf dat geld der gelosten aan Aaron en aan zijn zonen, naar het bevel des HEEREN, gelijk als de HEERE Mozes geboden had.
