Ðền thờ sẽ sáu mươi thước bề cao, và sáu mươi thước bề dài; 4nó sẽ có ba hàng đá nguyên khối và một hàng đòn tay gỗ mới; còn tiền sở phí thì phải cấp phát từ trong nhà vua. 5Lại, các khí dụng bằng vàng và bạc của nhà Ðức Chúa Trời, mà Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa đã lấy trong đền thờ tại Giê-ru-sa-lem và đem qua Ba-by-lôn, thì phải trả lại, và đem về trong đền thờ tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, khí dụng nầy trong chỗ nấy; ngươi phải để nó tại chỗ cũ trong nhà Ðức Chúa Trời. 6Vậy bây giờ, hỡi Tát-tê-nai, tổng đốc của xứ bên kia sông, Sê-ta-Bô-xê-nai, và các đồng liêu người ở A-phạt-sác bên kia sông, hãy dan ra; 7khá để cho quan cai của người Giu-đa và những người trưởng lão của chúng xây cất lại đền thờ của Ðức Chúa Trời tại nơi cũ nó. 8Nầy ta ra lịnh, truyền các ngươi phải làm gì đối với các trưởng lão dân Giu-đa, đặng giúp việc cất lại cái đền của Ðức Chúa Trời: Hãy lấy thuế khóa thâu ở bên kia sông, vội cấp phát các tiền chi phí cho những người đó, để công việc chẳng bị dứt chừng. 9Phàm vật chi cần kíp, hoặc bò tơ đực, chiên đực hay là chiên con, để dùng làm của lễ thiêu dâng cho Ðức Chúa Trời trên trời; hoặc lúa mì, muối, rượu, hay là dầu, theo lời của những thầy tế lễ ở tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, khá giao cho họ mỗi ngày, chớ thiếu, 10hầu cho họ dâng những của lễ có mùi thơm cho Ðức Chúa Trời trên trời, và cầu nguyện cho sanh mạng của vua và của các vương tử. 11Ta cũng truyền lịnh rằng: Nếu ai cải chiếu chỉ nầy, thì khá rút một cây đòn tay trong nhà kẻ ấy, rồi treo nó tại đó. và vì cớ tội ấy, làm cho nhà nó thành ra một chỗ đổ rác. 12Nguyện Ðức Chúa Trời, là Ðấng đã khiến danh Ngài ngự trong đền thờ ấy, hủy diệt vua nào, dân tộc nào dám giơ tay ra cải chiếu này đặng phá hủy đền thờ của Ðức Chúa Trời tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Ta là Ða-ri-út ban chiếu chỉ nầy; khá làm theo nó cách cần mẫn! 13Tát-tê-nai, quan tổng đốc của xứ phía bên nầy sông, Sê-ta-Bô-xê-nai và các đồng liêu họ, bèn cần mẫn tuân theo chiếu chỉ mà vua Ða-ri-út đã sai đến. 14Ấy vậy, các trưởng lão của dân Giu-đa bắt tay cất lại đền thờ, công việc được may mắn, y lời tiên tri của tiên tri A-ghê, và của Xa-cha-ri, con trai của Y-đô. Vậy, chúng làm xong công việc cất đền thờ, tùy theo mạng lịnh của Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên, và theo chiếu chỉ của Si-ru, Ða-ri-út, và Aït-ta-xét-xe, vua nước Phe-rơ-sơ. 15Ngày thứ ba tháng A-đa, nhằm năm thứ sáu đời vua Ða-ri-út, cái đền nầy được xây cất xong. 16Dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, những thầy tế lễ, người Lê-vi, và những người khác đã bị bắt làm phu tù được về, đều giữ lễ khánh thành đền thờ của Ðức Chúa Trời cách vui mừng. 17Về lễ khánh thành đền thờ nầy, chúng dâng một trăm con bò đực, hai trăm con chiên đực, bốn trăm con chiên con, và tùy theo số các chi phái Y-sơ-ra-ên, chúng dâng mười hai con dê đực làm của lễ chuộc tội cho cả dân Y-sơ-ra-ên. 18Chúng lập lên những thầy tế lễ và các người Lê-vi tùy theo ban thứ của họ, đặng phục sự Ðức Chúa Trời tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, y như đã chép trong sách Môi-se. 19Ðoạn, ngày mười bốn tháng giêng, các người đã bị bắt làm phu tù được về, dự lễ Vượt qua. 20Vì những thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi, cả thảy đã dọn mình cho thanh sạch, không trừ ai; rồi chúng vì hết thảy người đã bị bắt làm phu tù được trở về, vì những thầy tế lễ, là anh em mình, và vì chính mình, mà giết con sinh dùng về lễ Vượt qua. 21Những người Y-sơ-ra-ên đã bị bắt làm phu tù được về, bèn ăn lễ Vượt qua, luôn với những người đã tự chia rẽ ra sự ô uế của các dân tộc trong xứ đó, đến theo dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, đặng tìm kiếm Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên. 22Trong bảy ngày chúng giữ lễ bánh không men cách vui vẻ; vì Ðức Giê-hô-va đã làm cho lòng chúng được khoái lạc, và có cảm động lòng vua A-si-ri đoái xem chúng, đặng giúp đỡ trong cuộc xây cất đền của Ðức Chúa Trời, tức là Ðức Chúa Trời ở Y-sơ-ra-ên
1Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the archives, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon. 2There was found at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of Media, a scroll, and therein was thus written for a record: 3In the first year of Cyrus the king, Cyrus the king made a decree: Concerning God’s house at Jerusalem, let the house be built, the place where they offer sacrifices, and let its foundations be strongly laid; its height sixty cubits, and its breadth sixty cubits; 4with three courses of great stones, and a course of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king’s house. 5Also let the gold and silver vessels of God’s house, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought to Babylon, be restored, and brought again to the temple which is at Jerusalem, everyone to its place; and you shall put them in God’s house. 6Now therefore, Tattenai, governor beyond the River, Shetharbozenai, and your companions the Apharsachites, who are beyond the River, you must stay far from there. 7Leave the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in its place. 8Moreover I make a decree what you shall do to these elders of the Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king’s goods, even of the tribute beyond the River, expenses be given with all diligence to these men, that they be not hindered. 9That which they have need of, both young bulls, and rams, and lambs, for burnt offerings to the God of heaven; also wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the word of the priests who are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail; 10that they may offer sacrifices of pleasant aroma to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons. 11Also I have made a decree, that whoever shall alter this word, let a beam be pulled out from his house, and let him be lifted up and fastened on it; and let his house be made a dunghill for this: 12and the God who has caused his name to dwell there overthrow all kings and peoples who stretch out their hand to alter the same, to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with all diligence. 13Then Tattenai, the governor beyond the River, Shetharbozenai, and their companions, because Darius the king had sent a decree, did accordingly with all diligence. 14The elders of the Jews built and prospered, through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. They built and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the decree of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia. 15This house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king. 16The children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy. 17They offered at the dedication of this house of God one hundred bulls, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin offering for all Israel, twelve male goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel. 18They set the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God, which is at Jerusalem; as it is written in the book of Moses. 19The children of the captivity kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month. 20For the priests and the Levites had purified themselves together; all of them were pure: and they killed the Passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brothers the priests, and for themselves. 21The children of Israel who had come again out of the captivity, and all such as had separated themselves to them from the filthiness of the nations of the land, to seek Yahweh, the God of Israel, ate, 22and kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for Yahweh had made them joyful, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, to strengthen their hands in the work of God’s house, the God of Israel.
1Toen gaf de koning Darius bevel; en zij zochten in de kanselarij, waar de schatten waren weggelegd, in Babel. 2En te Achmetha, in de burcht, die in het landschap Medie is, werd een rol gevonden; en daarin was aldus geschreven: GEDACHTENIS: 3In het eerste jaar van den koning Kores, gaf de koning Kores dit bevel: Het huis Gods te Jeruzalem, dat huis zal gebouwd worden, ter plaatse, waar zij offeranden offeren, en de fondamenten daarvan zullen zwaar zijn; zijn hoogte van zestig ellen, en zijn breedte van zestig ellen; 4Met drie rijen van groten steen, en een rij van nieuw hout; en de onkosten zullen uit des konings huis gegeven worden. 5Daartoe zal men ook de gouden en zilveren vaten van het huis Gods, die Nebukadnezar uit den tempel, die te Jeruzalem was, heeft weggevoerd, en naar Babel gebracht, wedergeven, dat zij gaan naar den tempel, die te Jeruzalem is, aan zijn plaats, en men zal ze afvoeren ten huize Gods. 6Nu, gij Thathnai, landvoogd aan gene zijde der rivier, gij Sthar-Boznai, met ulieder gezelschap, gij Afarsechaieten, die aan gene zijde der rivier zijt, weest verre van daar! 7Laat hen aan den arbeid van dit huis Gods; dat de landvoogd der Joden en de oudsten der Joden dit huis Gods bouwen aan zijn plaats. 8Ook wordt van mij bevel gegeven, wat gijlieden doen zult aan de oudsten dezer Joden, om dit huis Gods te bouwen; te weten, dat uit des konings goederen, van den cijns aan gene zijde der rivier, de onkosten dezen mannen spoediglijk gegeven worden, opdat men hen niet belette. 9En wat nodig is, als jonge runderen, en rammen, en lammeren, tot brandofferen aan den God des hemels, tarwe, zout, wijn en olie, naar het zeggen der priesteren, die te Jeruzalem zijn, dat het hun dag bij dag gegeven worde, dat er geen feil zij; 10Opdat zij offeranden van liefelijken reuk aan den God des hemels offeren, en bidden voor het leven des konings en zijner kinderen. 11Voorts wordt bevel van mij gegeven, dat al dengene, die dit woord zal veranderen, een hout uit zijn huis zal gerukt en opgericht worden, waaraan hij zal worden opgehangen; en zijn huis zal om diens wille tot een drekhoop gemaakt worden. 12De God nu, die Zijn Naam aldaar heeft doen wonen, werpe ter neder alle koningen en volken, die hun hand zullen uitstrekken, om te veranderen en te verderven dit huis Gods, dat te Jeruzalem is. Ik, Darius, heb het bevel gegeven, dat het spoediglijk gedaan worde. 13Toen deden Thathnai, de landvoogd aan gene zijde der rivier, Sthar-Boznai, en hun gezelschap, spoediglijk alzo, naar hetgeen de koning Darius gezonden had. 14En de oudsten der Joden bouwden en gingen voorspoediglijk voort, door de profetie van den profeet Haggai en Zacharia, den zoon van Iddo; en zij bouwden en voltrokken het, naar het bevel van den God Israels, en naar het bevel van Kores, en Darius, en Arthahsasta, koning van Perzie. 15En dit huis werd volbracht op den derden dag der maand Adar; datzelve was het zesde jaar van het koninkrijk van den koning Darius. 16En de kinderen Israels, de priesteren en Levieten, en de overige kinderen der gevangenis deden de inwijding van dit huis Gods met vreugde. 17En zij offerden, ter inwijding van dit huis Gods, honderd runderen, tweehonderd rammen, vierhonderd lammeren en twaalf geitenbokken, ten zondoffer voor gans Israel, naar het getal der stammen Israels. 18En zij stelden de priesteren in hun onderscheidingen, en de Levieten in hun verdelingen, tot den dienst Gods, Die te Jeruzalem is, naar het voorschrift des boeks van Mozes. 19Ook hielden de kinderen der gevangenis het pascha, op den veertienden der eerste maand. 20Want de priesters en de Levieten hadden zich gereinigd als een enig man; zij waren allen rein; en zij slachtten het pascha voor alle kinderen der gevangenis, en voor hun broederen, de priesteren, en voor zichzelven. 21Alzo aten de kinderen Israels, die uit de gevangenis wedergekomen waren, mitsgaders al wie zich van de onreinigheid der heidenen des lands tot hen afgezonderd had, om den HEERE, den God Israels, te zoeken. 22En zij hielden het feest der ongezuurde broden zeven dagen, met blijdschap; want de HEERE had hen verblijd, en het hart des konings van Assur tot hen gewend, om hun handen te sterken in het huis Gods, des Gods van Israel.
