2 Tê-sa-lô-ni-ca 2

1Luận về sự đến của Ðức Chúa Jêsus Christ chúng ta, và về sự chúng ta hội hiệp cùng Ngài, 2thì, hỡi anh em, xin chớ vội bối rối và kinh hoàng hoặc bởi thần cảm giả mạo, hoặc bởi lời nói hay là bởi bức thơ nào tựa như chúng tôi đã gởi mà nói rằng ngày Chúa gần đến. 3Mặc ai dùng cách nào, cũng đừng để họ lừa dối mình. Vì phải có sự bỏ đạo đến trước, và có người tội ác, con của sự hư mất hiện ra, 4tức là kẻ đối địch, tôn mình lên trên mọi sự mà người ta xưng là Ðức Chúa Trời hoặc người ta thờ lạy, rất đỗi ngồi trong đền Ðức Chúa Trời, chính mình tự xưng là Ðức Chúa Trời. 5Anh em há không nhớ khi tôi còn ở với anh em, thì đã nói về những sự đó sao? 6Hiện nay anh em biết rõ điều làm ngăn trở nó, hầu cho nó chỉ hiện ra đúng kỳ nó thôi. 7Vì đã có sự mầu nhiệm của điều bội nghịch đương hành động rồi; song Ðấng còn ngăn trở cần phải cất đi. 8Bấy giờ kẻ nghịch cùng luật pháp kia sẽ hiện ra, Ðức Chúa Jêsus sẽ dùng hơi miệng Ngài mà hủy diệt nó, và trừ bỏ nó bởi sự chói sáng của sự Ngài đến. 9Kẻ đó sẽ lấy quyền của quỉ Sa-tan mà hiện đến, làm đủ mọi thứ phép lạ, dấu dị và việc kỳ dối giả; 10dùng mọi cách phỉnh dổ không công bình mà dổ những kẻ hư mất, vì chúng nó đã không nhận lãnh sự yêu thương của lẽ thật để được cứu rỗi. 11Ấy vì thế mà Ðức Chúa Trời cho chúng nó mắc phải sự lầm lạc, là sự khiến chúng nó tin điều dối giả, 12hầu cho hết thảy những người không tin lẽ thật, song chuộng sự không công bình, điều bị phục dưới sự phán xét của Ngài. 13Hỡi anh em yêu dấu của Chúa, còn như chúng tôi, phải vì anh em tạ ơn Ðức Chúa Trời không thôi, vì vừa lúc ban đầu, Ngài đã chọn anh em bởi sự nên thánh của Thánh Linh, và bởi tin lẽ thật, đặng ban sự cứu rỗi cho anh em. 14Ấy cũng là vì đó mà Ngài đã dùng Tin Lành chúng tôi gọi anh em, đặng anh em hưởng được sự vinh hiển của Ðức Chúa Jêsus Christ chúng ta. 15Hỡi anh em, vậy thì hãy đứng vững, hãy vâng giữ những điều dạy dỗ mà chúng tôi đã truyền cho anh em, hoặc bằng lời nói, hoặc bằng thơ từ của chúng tôi. 16Nguyền xin chính Ðức Chúa Jêsus Christ chúng ta, và Ðức Chúa Trời Cha chúng ta, là Ðấng đã yêu thương chúng ta, và đã lấy ân điển mà ban cho chúng ta sự yên ủi đời đời và sự trông cậy tốt lành, 17hãy yên ủi lòng anh em, khiến anh em được bền vững trong mọi việc lành cùng mọi lời nói lành.

1Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to him, we ask you 2not to be quickly shaken in your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as from us, saying that the day of Christ had come. 3Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be, unless the departure comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction, 4he who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God. 5Don’t you remember that, when I was still with you, I told you these things? 6Now you know what is restraining him, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season. 7For the mystery of lawlessness already works. Only there is one who restrains now, until he is taken out of the way. 8Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the breath of his mouth, and destroy by the manifestation of his coming; 9even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, because they didn’t receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11Because of this, God sends them a working of error, that they should believe a lie; 12that they all might be judged who didn’t believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 13But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth; 14to which he called you through our Good News, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15So then, brothers, stand firm, and hold the traditions which you were taught by us, whether by word, or by letter. 16Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, 17comfort your hearts and establish you in every good work and word.

1En wij bidden u, broeders, door de toekomst van onzen Heere Jezus Christus, en onze toevergadering tot Hem, 2Dat gij niet haastelijk bewogen wordt van verstand, of verschrikt, noch door geest, noch door woord, noch door zendbrief, als van ons geschreven, alsof de dag van Christus aanstaande ware. 3Dat u niemand verleide op enigerlei wijze; want die komt niet, tenzij dat eerst de afval gekomen zij, en dat geopenbaard zij de mens der zonde, de zoon des verderfs; 4Die zich tegenstelt, en verheft boven al wat God genaamd, of als God geeerd wordt, alzo dat hij in den tempel Gods als een God zal zitten, zichzelven vertonende, dat hij God is. 5Gedenkt gij niet, dat ik, nog bij u zijnde, u deze dingen gezegd heb? 6En nu, wat hem wederhoudt, weet gij, opdat hij geopenbaard worde te zijner eigen tijd. 7Want de verborgenheid der ongerechtigheid wordt alrede gewrocht; alleenlijk, Die hem nu wederhoudt, Die zal hem wederhouden, totdat hij uit het midden zal weggedaan worden. 8En alsdan zal de ongerechtige geopenbaard worden, denwelken de Heere verdoen zal door den Geest Zijns monds, en te niet maken door de verschijning Zijner toekomst; 9Hem, zeg ik, wiens toekomst is naar de werking des satans, in alle kracht, en tekenen, en wonderen der leugen; 10En in alle verleiding der onrechtvaardigheid in degenen, die verloren gaan; daarvoor dat zij de liefde der waarheid niet aangenomen hebben, om zalig te worden. 11En daarom zal God hun zenden een kracht der dwaling, dat zij de leugen zouden geloven; 12Opdat zij allen veroordeeld worden, die de waarheid niet geloofd hebben, maar een welbehagen hebben gehad in de ongerechtigheid. 13Maar wij zijn schuldig altijd God te danken over u, broeders, die van den Heere bemind zijt, dat u God van den beginne verkoren heeft tot zaligheid, in heiligmaking des Geestes, en geloof der waarheid; 14Waartoe Hij u geroepen heeft door ons Evangelie, tot verkrijging der heerlijkheid van onzen Heere Jezus Christus. 15Zo dan, broeders, staat vast en houdt de inzettingen, die u geleerd zijn, hetzij door ons woord, hetzij door onzen zendbrief. 16En onze Heere Jezus Christus Zelf, en onze God en Vader, Die ons heeft liefgehad, en gegeven heeft een eeuwige vertroosting en goede hoop in genade, 17Vertrooste uw harten, en versterke u in alle goed woord en werk.
