1Quando, pois, o Senhor entendeu que os fariseus ouviram que Jesus fazia e batizava mais discípulos que João 2(ainda que Jesus mesmo não batizava, mas sim seus discípulos), 3Ele deixou a Judeia, e foi outra vez para a Galileia. 4E foi necessário passar por Samaria. 5Veio pois a uma cidade de Samaria, chamada Sicar, junto à propriedade que Jacó deu a seu filho José. 6E ali estava a fonte de Jacó. Então Jesus, cansado do caminho, sentou-se assim junto à fonte; era isto quase à hora sexta. 7Veio uma mulher de Samaria para tirar água; Disse-lhe Jesus: Dá-me de beber. 8(Porque seus discípulos haviam ido à cidade para a comprar de comer). 9Disse-lhe pois a mulher samaritana: Como, sendo tu judeu, me pedes de beber, que sou mulher samaritana? (Porque os judeus não se comunicam com o samaritanos.) 10Respondeu Jesus, e disse-lhe: Se tu conhecesses o dom de Deus, e quem é o que te diz: Dá-me de beber, tu lhe pedirias, e ele te daria água viva. 11Disse a mulher: Senhor, tu não tens com que a tirar, e o poço é fundo; de onde pois tens a água viva? 12És tu maior que nosso pai Jacó, que nos deu o poço? E ele mesmo dele bebeu, e seus filhos, e seu gado? 13Jesus respondeu, e disse-lhe: Todo aquele que beber desta água voltará a ter sede; 14Porém aquele que beber da água que eu lhe der, para sempre não terá sede, mas a água que eu lhe der se fará nele fonte de água, que salte para vida eterna. 15Disse-lhe a mulher: Senhor, dá-me desta água, para que eu não tenha mais sede, nem venha aqui para tirar. 16Disse-lhe Jesus: Vai, chama a teu marido, e vem cá. 17A mulher respondeu, e disse: Não tenho marido. Disse-lhe Jesus: Bem disseste: Marido não tenho. 18Porque cinco maridos tiveste, e o que agora tens não é teu marido; isto com verdade disseste. 19Disse-lhe a mulher: Senhor, vejo que és profeta. 20Nossos pais adoraram neste monte, e vós dizeis que em Jerusalém é o lugar onde se deve adorar. 21Disse-lhe Jesus: Mulher, crê em mim, que a hora vem, quando nem neste monte, nem em Jerusalém, adorareis ao Pai. 22Vós adorais o que não sabeis; nós adoramos o que sabemos, porque a salvação vem dos judeus. 23Porém a hora vem, e agora é, quando os verdadeiros adoradores adorarão ao Pai em espírito e em verdade; porque também o Pai busca a tais que o adorem. 24Deus é Espírito, e os que o adoram devem adorá -lo em espírito e em verdade. 25Disse-lhe a mulher: Eu sei que o Messias vem (que se chama o Cristo); quando ele vier, todas as coisas nos anunciará. 26Disse-lhe Jesus: Eu sou o que contigo falo. 27E nisto vieram seus discípulos; e maravilharam-se de que falasse com uma mulher; mas ninguém lhe disse: Que perguntas? ou, O que falas com ela? 28Deixou, pois, a mulher seu vaso de água, e foi à cidade, e disse ao povo: 29Vinde, vede um homem que me disse tudo quanto tenho feito; por acaso não é este o Cristo? 30Saíram, pois, da cidade, e vieram a ele. 31E enquanto isso, os discípulos lhe pediam, dizendo: Rabi, come. 32Porém ele lhes disse: Uma comida tenho que comer, que vós não sabeis. 33Diziam, pois, os discípulos uns aos outros: Por acaso alguém lhe trouxe de comer? 34Disse-lhes Jesus: Minha comida é fazer a vontade daquele que me enviou, e cumprir sua obra. 35Não dizeis vós, que ainda há quatro meses até que venha a ceifa? Eis que vos digo: Levantai vossos olhos, e vede as terras; porque já estão brancas para a ceifa. 36E o que ceifa, recebe recompensa, e junta fruto para vida eterna; para que ambos se alegrem, tanto o que semeia, quanto o que ceifa. 37Porque nisto é verdadeiro o ditado, que: Um é o que semeia, e outro o que ceifa. 38Eu vos enviei para ceifar onde vós não trabalhastes; outros trabalharam, e vós entrastes no trabalho deles. 39E muitos dos samaritanos daquela cidade creram nele pela palavra da mulher, que testemunhava, dizendo: Ele me disse tudo quanto eu tenho feito. 40Vindo pois os samaritanos a ele, suplicaram-lhe que ficasse com eles; e ele ficou ali dois dias. 41E creram ainda muitos mais pela palavra dele. 42E diziam à mulher: Já não cremos por teu dito; porque nós mesmos temos o ouvido, e sabemos que verdadeiramente este é o Cristo, o Salvador do mundo. 43E depois de dois dias partiu dali, e foi-se para a Galileia. 44Porque o mesmo Jesus testemunhou que não tem o Profeta honra em sua própria terra. 45Vindo pois para a Galileia, os Galileus o receberam, havendo visto todas as coisas que fizera em Jerusalém no dia da festa, porque também eles foram ao dia da festa. 46Veio pois Jesus outra vez a Caná da Galileia, onde da água fizera vinho. E estava ali um nobre, cujo filho estava enfermo em Cafarnaum. 47Ouvindo este que Jesus vinha da Judeia para a Galileia, foi ter com ele, e suplicava-lhe que descesse, e curasse a seu filho, porque já estava à morte. 48Disse-lhe pois Jesus: Se não virdes sinais e milagres não crereis. 49O nobre lhe disse: Senhor, desce, antes que meu filho morra. 50Disse-lhe Jesus: Vai, teu filho vive. E o homem creu na palavra que Jesus lhe disse, e se foi. 51E estando ele já descendo, seus servos lhe saíram ao encontro, e lhe anunciaram, dizendo: Teu filho vive. 52Perguntou-lhes pois, a que hora se achara melhor; e disseram-lhe: Ontem às sete horas a febre o deixou. 53Entendeu pois o pai, que aquela era a mesma hora em que Jesus lhe disse: Teu filho vive. E creu nele, e toda sua casa. 54Este segundo sinal Jesus voltou a fazer, quando ele veio d a Judeia a Galileia.
1Therefore when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John 2(although Jesus himself didn’t baptize, but his disciples), 3he left Judea, and departed into Galilee. 4He needed to pass through Samaria. 5So he came to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son, Joseph. 6Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being tired from his journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour. 7A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” 8For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. 9The Samaritan woman therefore said to him, “How is it that you, being a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) 10Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” 11The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. From where then have you that living water? 12Are you greater than our father, Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, as did his children, and his livestock?” 13Jesus answered her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again, 14but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst again; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” 15The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I don’t get thirsty, neither come all the way here to draw.” 16Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.” 17The woman answered, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You said well, ‘I have no husband,’ 18for you have had five husbands; and he whom you now have is not your husband. This you have said truly.” 19The woman said to him, “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. 20Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship.” 21Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour comes, when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, will you worship the Father. 22You worship that which you don’t know. We worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews. 23But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such to be his worshipers. 24God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” 25The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah comes, he who is called Christ. When he has come, he will declare to us all things.” 26Jesus said to her, “I am he, the one who speaks to you.” 27At this, his disciples came. They marveled that he was speaking with a woman; yet no one said, “What are you looking for?” or, “Why do you speak with her?” 28So the woman left her water pot, and went away into the city, and said to the people, 29“Come, see a man who told me everything that I did. Can this be the Christ?” 30They went out of the city, and were coming to him. 31In the meanwhile, the disciples urged him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.” 32But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you don’t know about.” 33The disciples therefore said one to another, “Has anyone brought him something to eat?” 34Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to accomplish his work. 35Don’t you say, ‘There are yet four months until the harvest?’ Behold, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and look at the fields, that they are white for harvest already. 36He who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit to eternal life; that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37For in this the saying is true, ‘One sows, and another reaps.’ 38I sent you to reap that for which you haven’t labored. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.” 39From that city many of the Samaritans believed in him because of the word of the woman, who testified, “He told me everything that I did.” 40So when the Samaritans came to him, they begged him to stay with them. He stayed there two days. 41Many more believed because of his word. 42They said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of your speaking; for we have heard for ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.” 43After the two days he went out from there and went into Galilee. 44For Jesus himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country. 45So when he came into Galilee, the Galileans received him, having seen all the things that he did in Jerusalem at the feast, for they also went to the feast. 46Jesus came therefore again to Cana of Galilee, where he made the water into wine. There was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. 47When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to him, and begged him that he would come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. 48Jesus therefore said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders, you will in no way believe.” 49The nobleman said to him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.” 50Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your son lives.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. 51As he was now going down, his servants met him and reported, saying “Your child lives!” 52So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. They said therefore to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour, the fever left him.” 53So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” He believed, as did his whole house. 54This is again the second sign that Jesus did, having come out of Judea into Galilee.
1Als dan de Heere verstond, dat de Farizeen gehoord hadden, dat Jezus meer discipelen maakte en doopte dan Johannes; 2(Hoewel Jezus zelf niet doopte, maar Zijn discipelen), 3Zo verliet Hij Judea, en ging wederom heen naar Galilea. 4En Hij moest door Samaria gaan. 5Hij kwam dan in een stad van Samaria, genaamd Sichar, nabij het stuk land, hetwelk Jakob zijn zoon Jozef gaf. 6En aldaar was de fontein Jakobs. Gij hebt niet om mede te putten, en de put is diep; van waar hebt Gij dan het levend water? 12Zijt Gij meerder dan onze vader Jakob, die ons den put gegeven heeft, en hijzelf heeft daaruit gedronken, en zijn kinderen en zijn vee? 13Jezus antwoordde, en zeide tot haar: Een ieder, die van dit water drinkt, zal wederom dorsten: 14Maar zo wie gedronken zal hebben van het water, dat Ik hem geven zal, dien zal in eeuwigheid niet dorsten; maar het water, dat Ik hem zal geven, zal in hem worden een fontein van water, springende tot in het eeuwige leven. 15De vrouw zeide tot Hem: Heere, geef mij dat water, opdat mij niet dorste, en ik hier niet moet komen, om te putten. 16Jezus zeide tot haar: Ga heen, roep uw man, en kom hier. 17De vrouw antwoordde en zeide: Ik heb geen man. Jezus zeide tot haar: Gij hebt wel gezegd: Ik heb geen man. 18Want gij hebt vijf mannen gehad, en dien gij nu hebt, is uw man niet; dat hebt gij met waarheid gezegd. 19De vrouw zeide tot Hem: Heere, ik zie, dat Gij een profeet zijt. 20Onze vaders hebben op deze berg aangebeden; en gijlieden zegt, dat te Jeruzalem de plaats is, waar men moet aanbidden. 21Jezus zeide tot haar: Vrouw, geloof Mij, de ure komt, wanneer gijlieden, noch op dezen berg, noch te Jeruzalem, den Vader zult aanbidden. 22Gijlieden aanbidt, wat gij niet weet; wij aanbidden, wat wij weten; want de zaligheid is uit de Joden. 23Maar de ure komt, en is nu, wanneer de ware aanbidders den Vader aanbidden zullen in geest en waarheid; want de Vader zoekt ook dezulken, die Hem alzo aanbidden. 24God is een Geest, en die Hem aanbidden, moeten Hem aanbidden in geest en waarheid. 25De vrouw zeide tot Hem: Ik weet, dat de Messias komt (Die genaamd wordt Christus); wanneer Die zal gekomen zijn, zo zal Hij ons alle dingen verkondigen. 26Jezus zeide tot haar: Ik ben het, Die met u spreek. 27En daarop kwamen Zijn discipelen en verwonderden zich, dat Hij met een vrouw sprak. Nochtans zeide niemand: Wat vraagt Gij, of: Wat spreekt Gij met haar? 28Zo verliet de vrouw dan haar watervat, en ging heen in de stad en zeide tot de lieden: 29Komt, ziet een Mens, Die mij gezegd heeft alles, wat ik gedaan heb; is Deze niet de Christus? 30Zij dan gingen uit de stad, en kwamen tot Hem. 31En ondertussen baden Hem de discipelen, zeggende: Rabbi, eet. 32Maar Hij zeide tot hen: Ik heb een spijs om te eten, die gij niet weet. 33Zo zeiden dan de discipelen tegen elkander: Heeft Hem iemand te eten gebracht? 34Jezus zeide tot hen: Mijn spijs is, dat Ik doe den wil Desgenen, Die Mij gezonden heeft, en Zijn werk volbrenge. 35Zegt gijlieden niet: Het zijn nog vier maanden, en dan komt de oogst? Ziet, Ik zeg u: Heft uw ogen op en aanschouwt de landen; want zij zijn alrede wit om te oogsten. 36En die maait, ontvangt loon, en vergadert vrucht ten eeuwigen leven; opdat zich te zamen verblijde, beide, die zaait en die maait. 37Want hierin is die spreuk waarachtig: Een ander is het, die zaait, en een ander, die maait. 38Ik heb u uitgezonden, om te maaien, hetgeen gij niet bearbeid hebt; anderen hebben het bearbeid, en gij zijt tot hun arbeid ingegaan. 39En velen der Samaritanen uit die stad geloofden in Hem, om het woord der vrouw, die getuigde: Hij heeft mij gezegd alles, wat ik gedaan heb. 40Als dan de Samaritanen tot Hem gekomen waren, baden zij Hem, dat Hij bij hen bleef; en Hij bleef aldaar twee dagen. 41En er geloofden er veel meer om Zijns woords wil; 42En zeiden tot de vrouw: Wij geloven niet meer om uws zeggens wil; want wij zelven hebben Hem gehoord, en weten, dat Deze waarlijk is de Christus, de Zaligmaker der wereld. 43En na de twee dagen ging Hij van daar en ging heen naar Galilea; 44Want Jezus heeft Zelf getuigd, dat een profeet in zijn eigen vaderland geen eer heeft. 45Als Hij dan in Galilea kwam, ontvingen Hem de Galileers, gezien hebbende al de dingen, die Hij te Jeruzalem op het feest gedaan had; want ook zij waren tot het feest gegaan. 46Zo kwam dan Jezus wederom te Kana in Galilea, waar Hij het water wijn gemaakt had. En er was een zeker koninklijk hoveling, wiens zoon krank was, te Kapernaum. 47Deze, gehoord hebbende, dat Jezus uit Judea in Galilea kwam, ging tot Hem, en bad Hem, dat Hij afkwame, en zijn zoon gezond maakte; want hij lag op zijn sterven. 48Jezus dan zeide tot hem: Tenzij dat gijlieden tekenen en wonderen ziet, zo zult gij niet geloven. 49De koninklijke hoveling zeide tot Hem: Heere, kom af, eer mijn kind sterft. 50Jezus zeide tot hem: Ga heen, uw zoon leeft. En de mens geloofde het woord, dat Jezus tot hem zeide, en ging heen. 51En als hij nu afging, kwamen hem zijn dienstknechten tegemoet, en boodschapten, zeggende: Uw kind leeft! 52Zo vraagde hij dan van hen de ure, in welke het beter met hem geworden was. En zij zeiden tot hem: Gisteren te zeven ure verliet hem de koorts. 53De vader bekende dan, dat het in dezelve ure was, in dewelke Jezus tot hem gezegd had: Uw zoon leeft. En hij geloofde zelf, en zijn gehele huis. 54Dit tweede teken heeft Jezus wederom gedaan, als Hij uit Judea in Galilea gekomen was.
