1E Pedro e João estavam subindo juntos para o Templo à hora da oração (a nona hora ); 2E um certo homem estava sendo trazido, que era aleijado desde o ventre de sua mãe, ao qual todo dia colocavam à porta do Templo, chamada Porta Formosa, para pedir esmola aos que entravam no Templo. 3O qual, ao ver Pedro e João perto de entrarem no Templo, ele lhes pediu uma esmola. 4E Pedro, olhando fixamente para ele, junto com João, disse: Olha para nós. 5E o aleijado ficou prestando atenção neles, esperando receber deles alguma coisa. 6E Pedro disse: Prata e ouro eu não tenho; mas o que eu tenho, isso eu te dou: no nome de Jesus Cristo, o nazareno, levanta-te, e anda! 7E, tomando-o pela mão direita, levantou -o ; e logo os seus pés e tornozelos ficaram firmes. 8E ele, saltando, pôs-se de pé, e andou, e entrou com eles no Templo, andando, e saltando, e louvando a Deus. 9E todo o povo o viu andar, e louvar a Deus. 10E eles o reconheceram, que este era o que se sentava para pedir esmola perto da porta formosa do Templo; e ficaram cheios de surpresa e espanto, por causa do que tinha lhe acontecido. 11E o aleijado que tinha sido curado, tendo se apegado a Pedro e a João, todo o povo correu maravilhado a eles ao alpendre, que se chama de Salomão. 12Quando Pedro viu isso , respondeu ao povo: “Homens israelitas, por que vos maravilhais disto? Ou por que vós olhais tão atentamente para nós, como se por nosso próprio poder ou devoção divina o tivéssemos feito andar? 13O Deus de Abraão, e de Isaque, e de Jacó, o Deus de nossos pais, glorificou a seu filho Jesus, ao qual vós entregastes, e diante do rosto de Pilatos o negastes, mesmo ele julgando que fosse solto. 14Mas vós negastes ao santo e justo, e pedistes que um homem assassino fosse vos dado. 15E vós matastes ao Príncipe da vida, ao qual Deus ressuscitou dos mortos, do que nós somos testemunhas. 16E pela fé em seu nome, o nome dele deu firmeza a este, que vedes e conheceis; e a fé que é por meio dele deu a este perfeita saúde na presença de todos vós. 17E agora, irmãos, eu sei que vós fizestes isso por ignorância, assim como também vossos líderes. 18Mas Deus cumpriu assim o que já antes pela boca de todos os seus profetas ele tinha anunciado, que o Cristo tinha de sofrer. 19Arrependei-vos, pois, e convertei-vos, para que vosso pecados sejam apagados, quando vierem os tempos do refrigério da presença do Senhor. 20E ele enviar a Jesus Cristo, que já vos foi designado anteriormente. 21Ao qual convém que o céu receba até os tempos da restauração de todas as coisas, que Deus falou pela boca de todos os seus santos profetas, desde o princípio. 22Porque Moisés disse aos nossos pais: O Senhor, vosso Deus, levantará dentre vossos irmãos um profeta como eu; a ele ouvireis em tudo o que ele vos falar. 23E será que toda pessoa que não ouvir este profeta será exterminada do povo. 24E também todos os profetas, desde Samuel e os posteriores, todos os que falaram, também anunciaram com antecedência destes dias. 25Vós sois os filhos dos profetas e do pacto que Deus estabeleceu com nossos pais, dizendo a Abraão: E em tua semente serão abençoadas todas as famílias da terra. 26Deus, ao ressuscitar seu filho Jesus, primeiro o enviou a vós, para que nisto vos abençoasse: afastando cada um de vós de vossas maldades”.
1Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2A certain man who was lame from his mother’s womb was being carried, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask gifts for the needy of those who entered into the temple. 3Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive gifts for the needy. 4Peter, fastening his eyes on him, with John, said, “Look at us.” 5He listened to them, expecting to receive something from them. 6But Peter said, “Silver and gold have I none, but what I have, that I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!” 7He took him by the right hand, and raised him up. Immediately his feet and his ankle bones received strength. 8Leaping up, he stood, and began to walk. He entered with them into the temple, walking, leaping, and praising God. 9All the people saw him walking and praising God. 10They recognized him, that it was he who used to sit begging for gifts for the needy at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. They were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. 11As the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering. 12When Peter saw it, he responded to the people, “You men of Israel, why do you marvel at this man? Why do you fasten your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him walk? 13The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had determined to release him. 14But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, to which we are witnesses. 16By faith in his name, his name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. 17“Now, brothers, I know that you did this in ignorance, as did also your rulers. 18But the things which God announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled. 19“Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord, 20and that he may send Christ Jesus, who was ordained for you before, 21whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God spoke long ago by the mouth of his holy prophets. 22For Moses indeed said to the fathers, ‘The Lord God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him in all things whatever he says to you. 23It will be, that every soul that will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.’ 24Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel and those who followed after, as many as have spoken, they also told of these days. 25You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘In your seed will all the families of the earth be blessed.’ 26God, having raised up his servant, Jesus, sent him to you first, to bless you, in turning away everyone of you from your wickedness.”
1Petrus nu en Johannes gingen te zamen op naar den tempel, omtrent de ure des gebeds, zijnde de negende ure; 2En een zeker man, die kreupel was van zijner moeders lijf, werd gedragen, welken zij dagelijks zetten aan de deur des tempels, genaamd de Schone, om een aalmoes te begeren van degenen, die in den tempel gingen; 3Welke, Petrus en Johannes ziende, als zij in den tempel zouden ingaan, bad, dat hij een aalmoes mocht ontvangen. 4En Petrus, sterk op hem ziende, met Johannes, zeide: Zie op ons. 5En hij hield de ogen op hen, verwachtende, dat hij iets van hen zou ontvangen. 6En Petrus zeide: Zilver en goud heb ik niet, maar hetgeen ik heb, dat geve ik u; in den Naam van Jezus Christus, den Nazarener, sta op en wandel! 7En hem grijpende bij de rechterhand richtte hij hem op, en terstond werden zijn voeten en enkelen vast. 8En hij, opspringende, stond en wandelde, en ging met hen in den tempel, wandelende en springende, en lovende God. 9En al het volk zag hem wandelen en God loven. 10En zij kenden hem, dat hij die was, die om een aalmoes gezeten had aan de Schone poort des tempels; en zij werden vervuld met verbaasdheid en ontzetting over hetgeen hem geschied was. 11En als de kreupele, die gezond gemaakt was, aan Petrus en Johannes vasthield, liep al het volk gezamenlijk tot hen in het voorhof, hetwelk Salomo's voorhof genaamd wordt, verbaasd zijnde. 12En Petrus, dat ziende, antwoordde tot het volk: Gij Israelietische mannen, wat verwondert gij u over dit, of wat ziet gij zo sterk op ons, alsof wij door onze eigen kracht of godzaligheid dezen hadden doen wandelen? 13De God Abrahams, en Izaks, en Jakobs, de God onzer vaderen, heeft Zijn Kind Jezus verheerlijkt, Welken gij overgeleverd hebt, en hebt Hem verloochend, voor het aangezicht van Pilatus, als hij oordeelde, dat men Hem zoude loslaten. 14Maar gij hebt den Heilige en Rechtvaardige verloochend, en hebt begeerd, dat u een man, die een doodslager was, zou geschonken worden; 15En den Vorst des levens hebt gij gedood, Welken God opgewekt heeft uit de doden; waarvan wij getuigen zijn. 16En door het geloof in Zijn Naam heeft Zijn Naam dezen gesterkt, dien gij ziet en kent; en het geloof, dat door Hem is, heeft hem deze volmaakte gezondheid gegeven, in uw aller tegenwoordigheid. 17En nu, broeders, ik weet, dat gij het door onwetendheid gedaan hebt, gelijk als ook uw oversten. 18Maar God heeft alzo vervuld, hetgeen Hij door den mond van al Zijn profeten te voren verkondigd had, dat de Christus lijden zou. 19Betert u dan, en bekeert u, opdat uw zonden mogen uitgewist worden; wanneer de tijden der verkoeling zullen gekomen zijn van het aangezicht des Heeren, 20En Hij gezonden zal hebben Jezus Christus, Die u tevoren gepredikt is; 21Welken de hemel moet ontvangen tot de tijden der wederoprichting aller dingen, die God gesproken heeft door den mond van al Zijn heilige profeten van alle eeuw. 22Want Mozes heeft tot de vaderen gezegd: De Heere, uw God, zal u een Profeet verwekken, uit uw broederen, gelijk mij; Dien zult gij horen, in alles, wat Hij tot u spreken zal. 23En het zal geschieden, dat alle ziel, die dezen Profeet niet zal gehoord hebben, uitgeroeid zal worden uit den volke. 24En ook al de profeten, van Samuel aan, en die daarna gevolgd zijn, zovelen als er hebben gesproken, die hebben ook deze dagen te voren verkondigd. 25Gijlieden zijt kinderen der profeten, en des verbonds, hetwelk God met onze vaderen opgericht heeft, zeggende tot Abraham: En in uw zade zullen alle geslachten der aarde gezegend worden. 26God, opgewekt hebbende Zijn Kind Jezus, heeft Denzelven eerst tot u gezonden, dat Hij ulieden zegenen zou, daarin dat Hij een iegelijk van u afkere van uw boosheden.
