1아브라함과 다윗의 자손 예수 그리스도의 세계라 2아브라함이 이삭을 낳고 이삭은 야곱을 낳고 야곱은 유다와 그의 형제를 낳고 3유다는 다말에게서 베레스와 세라를 낳고 베레스는 헤스론을 낳고 헤스론은 람을 낳고 4람은 아미나답을 낳고 아미나답은 나손을 낳고 나손은 살몬을 낳고 5살몬은 라합에게서 보아스를 낳고 보아스는 룻에게서 오벳을 낳고 오벳은 이새를 낳고 6이새는 다윗 왕을 낳으니라 다윗은 우리야의 아내에게서 솔로몬을 낳고 7솔로몬은 르호보암을 낳고 르호보암은 아비야를 낳고 아비야는 아사를 낳고 8아사는 여호사밧을 낳고 여호사밧은 요람을 낳고 요람은 웃시야를 낳고 9웃시야는 요담을 낳고 요담은 아하스를 낳고 아하스는 히스기야를 낳고 10히스기야는 므낫세를 낳고 므낫세는 아몬을 낳고 아몬은 요시야를 낳고 11바벨론으로 이거할 때에 요시야는 여고냐와 그의 형제를 낳으니라 12바벨론으로 이거한 후에 여고냐는 스알디엘을 낳고 스알디엘은 스룹바벨을 낳고 13스룹바벨은 아비훗을 낳고 아비훗은 엘리아김을 낳고 엘리아김은 아소르를 낳고 14아소르는 사독을 낳고 사독은 아킴를 낳고 아킴은 엘리웃을 낳고 15엘리웃은 엘르아살을 낳고 엘르아살은 맛단을 낳고 맛단은 야곱을 낳고 16야곱은 마리아의 남편 요셉을 낳았으니 마리아에게서 그리스도라 칭하는 예수가 나시니라 17그런즉 모든 대수가 아브라함부터 다윗까지 열네 대요 다윗부터 바벨론으로 이거할 때까지 열네 대요 바벨론으로 이거한 후부터 그리스도까지 열네 대러라 18예수 그리스도의 나심은 이러하니라 그 모친 마리아가 요셉과 정혼하고 동거하기 전에 성령으로 잉태된 것이 나타났더니 19그 남편 요셉은 의로운 사람이라 저를 드러내지 아니하고 가만히 끊고자 하여 20이 일을 생각할 때에 주의 사자가 현몽하여 가로되 다윗의 자손 요셉아 네 아내 마리아 데려오기를 무서워 말라 저에게 잉태된 자는 성령으로 된 것이라 21아들을 낳으리니 이름을 예수라 하라 이는 그가 자기 백성을 저희 죄에서 구원할 자이심이라 하니라 22이 모든 일의 된 것은 주께서 선지자로 하신 말씀을 이루려 하심이니 가라사대 23보라 처녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳을 것이요 그 이름은 임마누엘이라 하리라 하셨으니 이를 번역한즉 하나님이 우리와 함께 계시다 함이라 24요셉이 잠을 깨어 일어나서 주의 사자의 분부대로 행하여 그 아내를 데려왔으나 25아들을 낳기까지 동침치 아니하더니 낳으매 이름을 예수라 하니라

1The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. 2Abraham became the father of Isaac. Isaac became the father of Jacob. Jacob became the father of Judah and his brothers. 3Judah became the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar. Perez became the father of Hezron. Hezron became the father of Ram. 4Ram became the father of Amminadab. Amminadab became the father of Nahshon. Nahshon became the father of Salmon. 5Salmon became the father of Boaz by Rahab. Boaz became the father of Obed by Ruth. Obed became the father of Jesse. 6Jesse became the father of King David. David became the father of Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah. 7Solomon became the father of Rehoboam. Rehoboam became the father of Abijah. Abijah became the father of Asa. 8Asa became the father of Jehoshaphat. Jehoshaphat became the father of Joram. Joram became the father of Uzziah. 9Uzziah became the father of Jotham. Jotham became the father of Ahaz. Ahaz became the father of Hezekiah. 10Hezekiah became the father of Manasseh. Manasseh became the father of Amon. Amon became the father of Josiah. 11Josiah became the father of Jechoniah and his brothers, at the time of the exile to Babylon. 12After the exile to Babylon, Jechoniah became the father of Shealtiel. Shealtiel became the father of Zerubbabel. 13Zerubbabel became the father of Abiud. Abiud became the father of Eliakim. Eliakim became the father of Azor. 14Azor became the father of Zadok. Zadok became the father of Achim. Achim became the father of Eliud. 15Eliud became the father of Eleazar. Eleazar became the father of Matthan. Matthan became the father of Jacob. 16Jacob became the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, from whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. 17So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; from David to the exile to Babylon fourteen generations; and from the carrying away to Babylon to the Christ, fourteen generations. 18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was like this; for after his mother, Mary, was engaged to Joseph, before they came together, she was found pregnant by the Holy Spirit. 19Joseph, her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, intended to put her away secretly. 20But when he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, don’t be afraid to take to yourself Mary, your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21She shall give birth to a son. You shall call his name Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.” 22Now all this has happened, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, 23“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall give birth to a son. They shall call his name Immanuel”; which is, being interpreted, “God with us.” 24Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took his wife to himself; 25and didn’t know her sexually until she had given birth to her firstborn son. He named him Jesus.

1Het boek des geslachts van JEZUS CHRISTUS, den Zoon van David, den zoon van Abraham. 2Abraham gewon Izak, en Izak gewon Jakob, en Jakob gewon Juda, en zijn broeders; 3En Juda gewon Fares en Zara bij Thamar; en Fares gewon Esrom, en Esrom gewon Aram; 4En Aram gewon Aminadab, en Aminadab gewon Nahasson, en Nahasson gewon Salmon; 5En Salmon gewon Booz bij Rachab, en Booz gewon Obed bij Ruth, en Obed gewon Jessai; 6En Jessai gewon David, den koning; en David, den koning, gewon Salomon bij degene, die Uria's vrouw was geweest; 7En Salomon gewon Roboam, en Roboam gewon Abia, en Abia gewon Asa; 8En Asa gewon Josafat, en Josafat gewon Joram, en Joram gewon Ozias; 9En Ozias gewon Joatham, en Joatham gewon Achaz, en Achaz gewon Ezekias; 10En Ezekias gewon Manasse, en Manasse gewon Amon, en Amon gewon Josias; 11En Josias gewon Jechonias, en zijn broeders, omtrent de Babylonische overvoering. 12En na de Babylonische overvoering gewon Jechonias Salathiel, en Salathiel gewon Zorobabel; 13En Zorobabel gewon Abiud, en Abiud gewon Eljakim, en Eljakim gewon Azor; 14En Azor gewon Sadok, en Sadok gewon Achim, en Achim gewon Eliud; 15En Eliud gewon Eleazar, en Eleazar gewon Matthan, en Matthan gewon Jakob; 16En Jakob gewon Jozef, den man van Maria, uit welke geboren is JEZUS, gezegd Christus. 17Al de geslachten dan, van Abraham tot David, zijn veertien geslachten; en van David tot de Babylonische overvoering, zijn veertien geslachten; en van de Babylonische overvoering tot Christus, zijn veertien geslachten. 18De geboorte van Jezus Christus was nu aldus; want als Maria, Zijn moeder, met Jozef ondertrouwd was, eer zij samengekomen waren, werd zij zwanger bevonden uit den Heiligen Geest. 19Jozef nu, haar man, alzo hij rechtvaardig was, en haar niet wilde openbaarlijk te schande maken, was van wil haar heimelijk te verlaten. 20En alzo hij deze dingen in den zin had, ziet, de engel des Heeren verscheen hem in den droom, zeggende: Jozef, gij zone Davids! wees niet bevreesd Maria, uw vrouw, tot u te nemen; want hetgeen in haar ontvangen is, dat is uit den Heiligen Geest; 21En zij zal een Zoon baren, en gij zult Zijn naam heten JEZUS; want Hij zal Zijn volk zalig maken van hun zonden. 22En dit alles is geschied, opdat vervuld zou worden, hetgeen van den Heere gesproken is, door den profeet, zeggende: 23Ziet, de maagd zal zwanger worden, en een Zoon baren, en gij zult Zijn naam heten Emmanuel; hetwelk is, overgezet zijnde, God met ons. 24Jozef dan, opgewekt zijnde van den slaap, deed, gelijk de engel des Heeren hem bevolen had, en heeft zijn vrouw tot zich genomen; 25En bekende haar niet, totdat zij dezen haar eerstgeboren Zoon gebaard had; en heette Zijn naam JEZUS.
