1여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 너는 바로에게 가서 그에게 이르기를 여호와의 말씀에 내 백성을 보내라 그들이 나를 섬길 것이니라 2네가 만일 보내기를 거절하면 내가 개구리로 너의 온 지경을 칠지라 3개구리가 하수에서 무수히 생기고 올라와서 네 궁에와 네 침실에와 네 침상 위에와 네 신하의 집에와 네 백성에게와 네 화덕에와 네 떡반죽 그릇에 들어갈지며 4개구리가 네게와 네 백성에게와 네 모든 신하에게 오르리라 하셨다 하라 5여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 아론에게 명하기를 네 지팡이를 잡고 네 팔을 강들과 운하들과 못 위에 펴서 개구리로 애굽 땅에 올라오게 하라 할지니라 6아론이 팔을 애굽 물들 위에 펴매 개구리가 올라와서 애굽 땅에 덮이니 7술객들도 자기 술법대로 이와 같이 하여 개구리로 애굽 땅에 올라오게 하였더라 8바로가 모세와 아론을 불러 이르되 여호와께 구하여 개구리를 나와 내 백성에게서 떠나게 하라 내가 이 백성을 보내리니 그들이 여호와께 희생을 드릴 것이니라 9모세가 바로에게 이르되 내가 왕과 왕의 신하와 왕의 백성을 위하여 어느 때에 구하여 이 개구리를 왕과 왕궁에서 끊어서 하수에만 있게 하오리이까 내게 보이소서 10그가 가로되 내일이니라 모세가 가로되 왕의 말씀대로 하여 왕으로 우리 하나님 여호와와 같은 이가 없는 줄을 알게 하리니 11개구리가 왕과 왕궁과 왕의 신하와 왕의 백성을 떠나서 하수에만 있으리이다 하고 12모세와 아론이 바로를 떠나 나가서 바로에게 내리신 개구리에 대하여 모세가 여호와께 간구하매 13여호와께서 모세의 말대로 하시니 개구리가 집에서, 마당에서, 밭에서 나와서 죽은지라 14사람들이 모아 무더기로 쌓으니 땅에서 악취가 나더라 15그러나 바로가 숨을 통할 수 있음을 볼 때에 그 마음을 완강케 하여 그들을 듣지 아니하였으니 여호와의 말씀과 같더라 16여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 아론에게 명하기를 네 지팡이를 들어 땅의 티끌을 치라 하라 그것이 애굽 온 땅에서 이가 되리라 17그들이 그대로 행할새 아론이 지팡이를 잡고 손을 들어 땅의 티끌을 치매 애굽 온 땅의 티끌이 다 이가 되어 사람과 생축에게 오르니 18술객들이 자기 술법으로 이같이 행하여 이를 내려 하였으나 못 하였고 이는 사람과 생축에게 있은지라 19술객이 바로에게 고하되 이는 하나님의 권능이니이다 하나 바로의 마음이 강퍅케 되어 그들을 듣지 아니하였으니 여호와의 말씀과 같더라 20여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 아침에 일찍이 일어나 바로 앞에 서라 그가 물로 나오리니 그에게 이르기를 여호와의 말씀에 내 백성을 보내라 그들이 나를 섬길 것이니라 21네가 만일 내 백성을 보내지 아니하면 내가 너와 네 신하와 네 백성을 보내지 아니하면 내가 너와 네 신하와 네 백성과 네 집들에 파리 떼를 보내리니 애굽 사람의 집집에 파리 떼가 가득할 것이며 그들의 거하는 땅에도 그러하리라 22그 날에 내가 내 백성의 거하는 고센 땅을 구별하여 그곳에는 파리 떼가 없게 하리니 이로 말미암아 나는 세상 중의 여호와인 줄을 네가 알게 될 것이라 23내가 내 백성과 네 백성 사이에 구별을 두리니 내일 이 표징이 있으리라 하셨다 하라 하시고 24여호와께서 그와 같이 하시니 무수한 파리 떼가 바로의 궁에와 그 신하의 집에와 애굽 전국에 이르니 파리 떼로 인하여 땅이 해를 받더라 25바로가 모세와 아론을 불러 이르되 너희는 가서 이 땅에서 너희 하나님께 희생을 드리라 26모세가 가로되 그리함은 불가하니이다 우리가 우리 하나님 여호와께 희생을 드리는 것은 애굽 사람의 미워하는 바이온즉 우리가 만일 애굽 사람의 목전에서 희생을 드리면 그들이 그것을 미워하여 우리를 돌로 치지 아니하리이까 27우리가 사흘길쯤 광야로 들어가서 우리 하나님 여호와께 희생을 드리되 우리에게 명하시는 대로 하려하나이다 28바로가 가로되 내가 너희를 보내리니 너희가 너희 하나님 여호와께 광야에서 희생을 드릴 것이나 너무 멀리는 가지 말라 그런즉 너희는 나를 위하여 기도하라 29모세가 가로되 내가 왕을 떠나 가서 여호와께 기도하리니 내일이면 파리 떼가 바로와 바로의 신하와 바로의 백성을 떠나려니와 바로는 이 백성을 보내어 여호와께 희생을 드리는 일에 다시 거짓을 행치 마소서 하고 30모세가 바로를 떠나 나와서 여호와께 기도하니 31여호와께서 모세의 말대로 하사 파리를 바로와 그 신하와 그 백성에게 몰수히 떠나게 하시니라 32그러나 바로가 이 때에도 마음을 완강케 하여 백성을 보내지 아니하였더라
1Yahweh spoke to Moses, Go in to Pharaoh, and tell him, “This is what Yahweh says, ‘Let my people go, that they may serve me. 2If you refuse to let them go, behold, I will plague all your borders with frogs: 3and the river shall swarm with frogs, which shall go up and come into your house, and into your bedroom, and on your bed, and into the house of your servants, and on your people, and into your ovens, and into your kneading troughs: 4and the frogs shall come up both on you, and on your people, and on all your servants.’” 5Yahweh said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your rod over the rivers, over the streams, and over the pools, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt.’” 6Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt. 7The magicians did the same thing with their enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt. 8Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, “Entreat Yahweh, that he take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to Yahweh.” 9Moses said to Pharaoh, “I give you the honor of setting the time that I should pray for you, and for your servants, and for your people, that the frogs be destroyed from you and your houses, and remain in the river only.” 10He said, “Tomorrow.” He said, “Be it according to your word, that you may know that there is no one like Yahweh our God. 11The frogs shall depart from you, and from your houses, and from your servants, and from your people. They shall remain in the river only.” 12Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh, and Moses cried to Yahweh concerning the frogs which he had brought on Pharaoh. 13Yahweh did according to the word of Moses, and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courts, and out of the fields. 14They gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank. 15But when Pharaoh saw that there was a respite, he hardened his heart, and didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken. 16Yahweh said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the earth, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.’” 17They did so; and Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and struck the dust of the earth, and there were lice on man, and on animal; all the dust of the earth became lice throughout all the land of Egypt. 18The magicians tried with their enchantments to produce lice, but they couldn’t. There were lice on man, and on animal. 19Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God:” and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he didn’t listen to them; as Yahweh had spoken. 20Yahweh said to Moses, “Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; behold, he comes out to the water; and tell him, ‘This is what Yahweh says, “Let my people go, that they may serve me. 21Else, if you will not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you, and on your servants, and on your people, and into your houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are. 22I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end you may know that I am Yahweh in the midst of the earth. 23I will put a division between my people and your people: by tomorrow shall this sign be.”’” 24Yahweh did so; and there came grievous swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants’ houses: and in all the land of Egypt the land was corrupted by reason of the swarms of flies. 25Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God in the land!” 26Moses said, “It isn’t appropriate to do so; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to Yahweh our God. Behold, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and won’t they stone us? 27We will go three days’ journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to Yahweh our God, as he shall command us.” 28Pharaoh said, “I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to Yahweh your God in the wilderness, only you shall not go very far away. Pray for me.” 29Moses said, “Behold, I go out from you, and I will pray to Yahweh that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, tomorrow; only don’t let Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to Yahweh.” 30Moses went out from Pharaoh, and prayed to Yahweh. 31Yahweh did according to the word of Moses, and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. There remained not one. 32Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also, and he didn’t let the people go.

Tegen wanneer zal ik voor u, en voor uw knechten, en voor uw volk, vuriglijk bidden, om deze vorsen van u en van uw huizen te verdelgen, dat zij alleen in de rivier overblijven? 10Hij dan zeide: Tegen morgen. En hij zeide: Het zij naar uw woord, opdat gij weet, dat er niemand is, gelijk de HEERE, onze God. 11Zo zullen de vorsen van u, en van uw huizen, en van uw knechten, en van uw volk wijken; zij zullen alleen in de rivier overblijven. 12Toen ging Mozes en Aaron uit van Farao; en Mozes riep tot den HEERE, ter oorzake der vorsen, die Hij Farao had opgelegd. 13En de HEERE deed naar het woord van Mozes; en de vorsen stierven, uit de huizen, uit de voorzalen, en uit de velden. 14En zij vergaderden ze samen bij hopen, en het land stonk. 15Toen nu Farao zag, dat er verademing was, verzwaarde hij zijn hart, dat hij naar hen niet hoorde, gelijk als de HEERE gesproken had. 16Verder zeide de HEERE tot Mozes: Zeg tot Aaron: Strek uw staf uit, en sla het stof der aarde, dat het tot luizen worde, in het ganse Egypteland. 17En zij deden alzo; want Aaron strekte zijn hand uit met zijn staf, en sloeg het stof der aarde, en er werden vele luizen aan de mensen, en aan het vee; al het stof der aarde werd luizen, in het ganse Egypteland. 18De tovenaars deden ook alzo met hun bezweringen, opdat zij luizen voortbrachten; doch zij konden niet; zo waren de luizen aan de mensen, en aan het vee. 19Toen zeiden de tovenaars tot Farao: Dit is Gods vinger! Doch Farao's hart verstijfde, zodat hij naar hen niet hoorde, gelijk de HEERE gesproken had. 20Verder zeide de HEERE tot Mozes: Maak u morgen vroeg op, en stel u voor Farao's aangezicht; zie, hij zal aan het water uitgaan, en zeg tot hem: Zo zegt de HEERE: Laat Mijn volk trekken, dat zij Mij dienen; 21Want zo gij Mijn volk niet laat trekken, zie, zo zal Ik een vermenging van ongedierte zenden op u, en op uw knechten, en op uw volk, en in uw huizen; alzo dat de huizen der Egyptenaren met deze vermenging zullen vervuld worden, en ook het aardrijk, waarop zij zijn. 22En Ik zal te dien dage het land Gosen, waarin Mijn volk woont, afzonderen, dat daar geen vermenging van ongedierte zij, opdat gij weet, dat Ik, de HEERE, in het midden dezes lands ben. 23En Ik zal een verlossing zetten tussen Mijn volk en tussen uw volk; tegen morgen zal dit teken geschieden! 24En de HEERE deed alzo; en er kwam een zware vermenging van ongedierte in het huis van Farao, en in de huizen van zijn knechten, en over het ganse Egypteland; het land werd verdorven van deze vermenging. 25Toen riep Farao Mozes en Aaron, en zeide: Gaat heen, en offert uwen God in dit land. 26Mozes dan zeide: Het is niet recht, dat men alzo doe; want wij zouden der Egyptenaren gruwel den HEERE, onzen God, mogen offeren; zie, indien wij der Egyptenaren gruwel voor hun ogen offerden, zouden zij ons niet stenigen? 27Laat ons den weg van drie dagen in de woestijn gaan, dat wij den HEERE onzen God offeren, gelijk Hij tot ons zeggen zal. 28Toen zeide Farao: Ik zal u trekken laten, dat gijlieden den HEERE, uwen God, offert in de woestijn; alleen, dat gijlieden in het gaan geenszins te verre trekt! Bidt vuriglijk voor mij. 29Mozes nu zeide: Zie, ik ga van u, en zal tot den HEERE vuriglijk bidden, dat deze vermenging van ongedierte van Farao, van zijn knechten, en van zijn volk morgen wegwijke! Alleen, dat Farao niet meer bedriegelijk handele, dit volk niet latende gaan, om den HEERE te offeren. 30Toen ging Mozes uit van Farao, en bad vuriglijk tot den HEERE. 31En de HEERE deed naar het woord van Mozes, en de vermenging van ongedierte week van Farao, van zijn knechten, en van zijn volk; er bleef niet een over. 32Doch Farao verzwaarde zijn hart ook op ditmaal, en hij liet het volk niet trekken.
