1エジプトの国を出た次の年の二月一日に、主はシナイの荒野において、会見の幕屋で、モーセに言われた、 2「あなたがたは、イスラエルの人々の全会衆を、その氏族により、その父祖の家によって調査し、そのすべての男子の名の数を、ひとりびとり数えて、その総数を得なさい。 3イスラエルのうちで、すべて戦争に出ることのできる二十歳以上の者を、あなたとアロンとは、その部隊にしたがって数えなければならない。 4また、すべての部族は、おのおの父祖の家の長たるものを、ひとりずつ出して、あなたがたと協力させなければならない。 5すなわち、あなたがたに協力すべき人々の名は、次のとおりである。ルベンからはシデウルの子エリヅル。 6シメオンからはツリシャダイの子シルミエル。 7ユダからはアミナダブの子ナション。 8イッサカルからはツアルの子ネタニエル。 9ゼブルンからはヘロンの子エリアブ。 10ヨセフの子たちのうち、エフライムからはアミホデの子エリシャマ、マナセからはパダヅルの子ガマリエル。 11ベニヤミンからはギデオニの子アビダン。 12ダンからはアミシャダイの子アヒエゼル。 13アセルからはオクランの子パギエル。 14ガドからはデウエルの子エリアサフ。 15ナフタリからはエナンの子アヒラ」。 16これらは会衆のうちから選び出された人々で、その父祖の部族のつかさたち、またイスラエルの氏族のかしらたちである。 17こうして、モーセとアロンが、ここに名を掲げた人々を引き連れて、 18二月一日に会衆をことごとく集めたので、彼らはその氏族により、その父祖の家により、その名の数にしたがって二十歳以上のものが、ひとりびとり登録した。 19主が命じられたように、モーセはシナイの荒野で彼らを数えた。 20すなわち、イスラエルの長子ルベンの子たちから生れたものを、その氏族により、その父祖の家によって調べ、すべて戦争に出ることのできる二十歳以上の男子の名の数を、ひとりびとり得たが、 21ルベンの部族のうちで、数えられたものは四万六千五百人であった。 22またシメオンの子たちから生れたものを、その氏族により、その父祖の家によって調べ、すべて戦争に出ることのできる二十歳以上の男子の名の数を、ひとりびとり得たが、 23シメオンの部族のうちで、数えられたものは五万九千三百人であった。 24またガドの子たちから生れたものを、その氏族により、その父祖の家によって調べ、すべて戦争に出ることのできる二十歳以上の者の名の数を得たが、 25ガドの部族のうちで、数えられたものは四万五千六百五十人であった。 26ユダの子たちから生れたものを、その氏族により、その父祖の家によって調べ、すべて戦争に出ることのできる二十歳以上の者の名の数を得たが、 27ユダの部族のうちで、数えられたものは七万四千六百人であった。 28イッサカルの子たちから生れたものを、その氏族により、その父祖の家によって調べ、すべて戦争に出ることのできる二十歳以上の者の名の数を得たが、 29イッサカルの部族のうちで、数えられたものは五万四千四百人であった。 30ゼブルンの子たちから生れたものを、その氏族により、その父祖の家によって調べ、すべて戦争に出ることのできる二十歳以上の者の名の数を得たが、 31ゼブルンの部族のうちで、数えられたものは五万七千四百人であった。 32ヨセフの子たちのうち、エフライムの子たちから生れたものを、その氏族により、その父祖の家によって調べ、すべて戦争に出ることのできる二十歳以上の者の名の数を得たが、 33エフライムの部族のうちで、数えられたものは四万五百人であった。 34マナセの子たちから生れたものを、その氏族により、その父祖の家によって調べ、すべて戦争に出ることのできる二十歳以上の者の名の数を得たが、 35マナセの部族のうちで、数えられたものは三万二千二百人であった。 36ベニヤミンの子たちから生れたものを、その氏族により、その父祖の家によって調べ、すべて戦争に出ることのできる二十歳以上の者の名の数を得たが、 37ベニヤミンの部族のうちで、数えられたものは三万五千四百人であった。 38ダンの子たちから生れたものを、その氏族により、その父祖の家によって調べ、すべて戦争に出ることのできる二十歳以上の者の名の数を得たが、 39ダンの部族のうちで、数えられたものは六万二千七百人であった。 40アセルの子たちから生れたものを、その氏族により、その父祖の家によって調べ、すべて戦争に出ることのできる二十歳以上の者の名の数を得たが、 41アセルの部族のうちで、数えられたものは四万一千五百人であった。 42ナフタリの子たちから生れたものを、その氏族により、その父祖の家によって調べ、すべて戦争に出ることのできる二十歳以上の者の名の数を得たが、 43ナフタリの部族のうちで、数えられたものは、五万三千四百人であった。 44これらが数えられた人々であって、モーセとアロンとイスラエルのつかさたちとが数えた人々である。そのつかさたちは十二人であって、おのおのその父祖の家のために出たものである。 45そしてイスラエルの人々のうち、その父祖の家にしたがって数えられた者は、すべてイスラエルのうち、戦争に出ることのできる二十歳以上の者であって、 46その数えられた者は合わせて六十万三千五百五十人であった。 47しかし、レビびとは、その父祖の部族にしたがって、そのうちに数えられなかった。 48すなわち、主はモーセに言われた、 49「あなたはレビの部族だけは数えてはならない。またその総数をイスラエルの人々のうちに数えあげてはならない。 50あなたはレビびとに、あかしの幕屋と、そのもろもろの器と、それに附属するもろもろの物を管理させなさい。彼らは幕屋と、そのもろもろの器とを持ち運び、またそこで務をし、幕屋のまわりに宿営しなければならない。 51幕屋が進む時は、レビびとがこれを取りくずし、幕屋を張る時は、レビびとがこれを組み立てなければならない。ほかの人がこれに近づく時は殺されるであろう。 52イスラエルの人々はその部隊にしたがって、おのおのその宿営に、おのおのその旗のもとにその天幕を張らなければならない。 53しかし、レビびとは、あかしの幕屋のまわりに宿営しなければならない。そうすれば、主の怒りはイスラエルの人々の会衆の上に臨むことがないであろう。レビびとは、あかしの幕屋の務を守らなければならない」。 54イスラエルの人々はこのようにして、すべて主がモーセに命じられたように行った。

1Yahweh spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying, 2“Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, every male, one by one; 3from twenty years old and upward, all who are able to go out to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall number them by their divisions. 4With you there shall be a man of every tribe; everyone head of his fathers’ house. 5These are the names of the men who shall stand with you: Of Reuben: Elizur the son of Shedeur. 6Of Simeon: Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai. 7Of Judah: Nahshon the son of Amminadab. 8Of Issachar: Nethanel the son of Zuar. 9Of Zebulun: Eliab the son of Helon. 10Of the children of Joseph: Of Ephraim: Elishama the son of Ammihud. Of Manasseh: Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur. 11Of Benjamin: Abidan the son of Gideoni. 12Of Dan: Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai. 13Of Asher: Pagiel the son of Ochran. 14Of Gad: Eliasaph the son of Deuel. 15Of Naphtali: Ahira the son of Enan.” 16These are those who were called of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; they were the heads of the thousands of Israel. 17Moses and Aaron took these men who are mentioned by name. 18They assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they declared their ancestry by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, one by one. 19As Yahweh commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai. 20The children of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war; 21those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Reuben, were forty-six thousand five hundred. 22Of the children of Simeon, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, those who were numbered of it, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war; 23those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty-nine thousand three hundred. 24Of the children of Gad, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war; 25those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Gad, were forty-five thousand six hundred fifty. 26Of the children of Judah, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war; 27those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Judah, were seventy-four thousand six hundred. 28Of the children of Issachar, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war; 29those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Issachar, were fifty-four thousand four hundred. 30Of the children of Zebulun, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war; 31those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Zebulun, were fifty-seven thousand four hundred. 32Of the children of Joseph, of the children of Ephraim, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war; 33those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Ephraim, were forty thousand five hundred. 34Of the children of Manasseh, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war; 35those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Manasseh, were thirty-two thousand two hundred. 36Of the children of Benjamin, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war; 37those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Benjamin, were thirty-five thousand four hundred. 38Of the children of Dan, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war; 39those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Dan, were sixty-two thousand seven hundred. 40Of the children of Asher, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war; 41those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Asher, were forty-one thousand five hundred. 42Of the children of Naphtali, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war; 43those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty-three thousand four hundred. 44These are those who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men: they were each one for his fathers’ house. 45So all those who were numbered of the children of Israel by their fathers’ houses, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war in Israel; 46even all those who were numbered were six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty. 47But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them. 48For Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 49“Only the tribe of Levi you shall not number, neither shall you take a census of them among the children of Israel; 50but appoint the Levites over the Tabernacle of the Testimony, and over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle, and all its furnishings; and they shall take care of it, and shall encamp around it. 51When the tabernacle is to move, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death. 52The children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their divisions. 53But the Levites shall encamp around the Tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be responsible for the Tabernacle of the Testimony.” 54Thus the children of Israel did. According to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so they did.

1Voorts sprak de HEERE tot Mozes, in de woestijn van Sinai, in de tent der samenkomst, op den eersten der tweede maand, in het tweede jaar, nadat zij uit Egypteland uitgetogen ware, zeggende: 2Neem op de som van de gehele vergadering der kinderen Israels, naar hun geslachten, naar het huis hunner vaderen, in het getal der namen, van al wat mannelijk is, hoofd voor hoofd. 3Van twintig jaren oud en daarboven, allen, die ten heire in Israel uittrekken; die zult gij tellen naar hun heiren, gij en Aaron. 4En met ulieden zullen zijn van elken stam een man, die een hoofdman is over het huis zijner vaderen. 5Deze zijn nu de namen der mannen, die bij u staan zullen: van Ruben, Elizur, de zoon van Sedeur. 6Van Simeon, Selumiel, de zoon van Zurisaddai. 7Van Juda, Nahesson, de zoon van Amminadab. 8Van Issaschar, Nethaneel, de zoon van Zuar. 9Van Zebulon, Eliab, de zoon van Helon. 10Van de kinderen van Jozef: van Efraim, Elisama, de zoon van Ammihud; zij waren de hoofden der duizenden van Israel. 17Toen namen Mozes en Aaron die mannen, welken met namen uitgedrukt zijn. 18En zij verzamelden de gehele vergadering, op den eersten dag der tweede maand; en die verklaarden hun afkomst, naar hun geslachten, naar het huis hunner vaderen, in het getal der namen, van die twintig jaren oud was en daarboven, hoofd voor hoofd. 19Gelijk als de HEERE Mozes geboden had, zo heeft hij hen geteld in de woestijn van Sinai. 20Zo waren de zonen van Ruben, den eerstgeborene van Israel, hun geboorten, naar hun geslachten, naar het huis hunner vaderen, in het getal der namen, hoofd voor hoofd, al wat mannelijk was, van twintig jaren oud en daarboven, allen, die ten heire uittrokken; 21Hun getelden van den stam van Ruben waren zes en veertig duizend en vijfhonderd. 22Van de zonen van Simeon, hun geboorten, naar hun geslachten, naar het huis hunner vaderen, zijn getelden, in het getal der namen, hoofd voor hoofd, al wat mannelijk was, van twintig jaren oud en daarboven, allen, die ten heire uittrokken; 23Hun getelden van den stam van Simeon waren negen en vijftig duizend en driehonderd. 24Van de zonen van Gad, hun geboorten, naar hun geslachten, naar het huis hunner vaderen, in het getal der namen, van twintig jaren oud en daarboven, allen, die ten heire uittrokken. 25Waren hun getelden van den stam van Gad vijf en veertig duizend zeshonderd en vijftig. 26Van de zonen van Juda, hun geboorten, naar hun geslachten, naar het huis hunner vaderen, in het getal der namen, van twintig jaren oud en daarboven, allen, die ten heire uittrokken, 27Waren hun getelden van den stam van Juda vier en zeventig duizend en zeshonderd. 28Van de zonen van Issaschar, hun geboorten, naar hun geslachten, naar het huis hunner vaderen, in het getal der namen van twintig jaren oud en daarboven, allen, die ten heire uittrokken, 29Waren hun getelden van den stam van Issaschar vier en vijftig duizend en vierhonderd. 30Van de zonen van Zebulon, hun geboorten, naar hun geslachten, naar het huis hunner vaderen, in het getal der namen, van twintig jaren oud en daarboven, allen, die ten heire uittrokken, 31Waren hun getelden van den stam van Zebulon zeven en vijftig duizend en vierhonderd. 32Van de zonen van Jozef: van de zonen van Efraim, hun geboorten, naar hun geslachten, naar het huis hunner vaderen, in het getal der namen, van twintig jaren oud en daarboven, allen, die ten heire uittrokken, 33Waren hun getelden van den stam van Efraim veertig duizend en vijfhonderd; 34Van de zonen van Manasse, hun geboorten, naar hun geslachten, naar het huis hunner vaderen, in het getal der namen, van twintig jaren oud en daarboven, allen, die ten heire uittrokken, 35Waren hun getelden van den stam van Manasse twee en dertig duizend en tweehonderd. 36Van de zonen van Benjamin, hun geboorten, naar hun geslachten, naar het huis hunner vaderen, in het getal der namen, van twintig jaren oud en daarboven, allen, die ten heire uittrokken, 37Waren hun getelden van den stam van Benjamin vijf en dertig duizend en vierhonderd. 38Van de zonen van Dan, hun geboorten, naar hun geslachten, naar het huis hunner vaderen, in het getal der namen, van twintig jaren oud en daarboven, allen, die ten heire uittrokken, 39Waren hun getelden van den stam van Dan twee en zestig duizend en zevenhonderd. 40Van de zonen van Aser, hun geboorten, naar hun geslachten, naar het huis hunner vaderen, in het getal der namen, van twintig jaren oud en daarboven, allen, die ten heire uittrokken, 41Waren hun getelden van den stam van Aser een en veertig duizend en vijfhonderd. 42Van de zonen van Nafthali, hun geboorten, naar hun geslachten, naar het huis hunner vaderen, in het getal der namen, van twintig jaren oud en daarboven, allen, die ten heire uittrokken, 43Waren hun getelden van den stam van Nafthali drie en vijftig duizend en vierhonderd. 44Dezen zijn de getelden, welke Mozes geteld heeft, en Aaron, en de oversten van Israel; twaalf mannen waren zij, elk over het huis zijner vaderen. 45Alzo waren al de getelden der zonen van Israel, naar het huis hunner vaderen, van twintig jaren oud en daarboven, allen, die in Israel ten heire uittrokken, 46Al de getelden dan waren zeshonderd drie duizend vijfhonderd en vijftig. 47Maar de Levieten, naar den stam hunner vaderen, werden onder hen niet geteld. 48Want de HEERE had tot Mozes gesproken, zeggende: 49Alleen de stam van Levi zult gij niet tellen, noch hun som opnemen, onder de zonen van Israel. 50Maar gij, stel de Levieten over den tabernakel der getuigenis, en over al zijn gereedschap, en over alles, wat daartoe behoort; zij zullen den tabernakel dragen, en al zijn gereedschap; en zij zullen dien bedienen, en zij zullen zich rondom den tabernakel legeren. 51En als de tabernakel zal optrekken, de Levieten zullen denzelven afnemen; en wanneer de tabernakel zich legeren zal, zullen de Levieten denzelven oprichten; en de vreemde, die daarbij komt, zal gedood worden. 52En de kinderen Israels zullen zich legeren, een iegelijk bij zijn leger, en een iegelijk bij zijn banier, naar hun heiren. 53Maar de Levieten zullen zich legeren rondom den tabernakel der getuigenis, opdat geen verbolgenheid over de vergadering van de kinderen Israels zij; daarom zullen de Levieten de wacht van den tabernakel der getuigenis waarnemen. 54Zo deden de kinderen Israels; naar alles, wat de HEERE Mozes geboden had, zo deden zij.
