The red thread

Everything points to Jesus

On the road to Emmaus, Jesus explained "the things concerning himself in all the Scriptures" (Luke 24:27). Follow eight threads through the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, one station at a time.

Toistaiseksi raamatunkohtien ja kirjojen selitykset ovat vain hollanniksi. Raamatun teksti ja itse sovellus ovat sinun kielelläsi; selitysten käännökset ovat tulossa.

The loom

All the threads side by side, across the 66 books from Genesis to Revelation. Each bead is a station. See where they meet: in the Gospels, at Jesus.

Which thread?

A station from the Bible: which thread does it belong to?

6 stations, each time four threads to choose from. Every answer opens the verse.

How we read the threads

A thread is not a clever find, but a line the Bible draws itself.

  1. The New Testament as the key

We only make the links the New Testament makes itself, or that follow directly from it. Jesus and the apostles showed the way.

  2. The story itself first

Every text first meant something to its first readers. So each station first says what happens there, and only then how it points ahead.

  3. Not a code, but a Person

The threads are not a secret puzzle. They show that God has one plan, from beginning to end, and that it centres on Jesus Christ.

Start with the first thread: the Lamb.
