Johanneksen evankeliumi 17

1Tämän Jeesus puhui ja nosti silmänsä taivasta kohti ja sanoi: "Isä, hetki on tullut, kirkasta Poikasi, että Poikasi kirkastaisi sinut; 2koska sinä olet antanut hänen valtaansa kaiken lihan, että hän antaisi iankaikkisen elämän kaikille, jotka sinä olet hänelle antanut. 3Mutta tämä on iankaikkinen elämä, että he tuntevat sinut, joka yksin olet totinen Jumala, ja hänet, jonka sinä olet lähettänyt, Jeesuksen Kristuksen. 4Minä olen kirkastanut sinut maan päällä: minä olen täyttänyt sen työn, jonka sinä annoit minun tehtäväkseni. 5Ja nyt, Isä, kirkasta sinä minut tykönäsi sillä kirkkaudella, joka minulla oli sinun tykönäsi, ennenkuin maailma olikaan. 6Minä olen ilmoittanut sinun nimesi ihmisille, jotka sinä annoit minulle maailmasta. Pyhä Isä, varjele heidät nimessäsi, jonka sinä olet minulle antanut, että he olisivat yhtä niinkuin mekin. 12Kun minä olin heidän kanssansa, varjelin minä heidät sinun nimessäsi, jonka sinä olet minulle antanut, ja suojelin heitä, eikä heistä joutunut kadotetuksi yksikään muu kuin se kadotuksen lapsi, että kirjoitus kävisi toteen. 13Mutta nyt minä tulen sinun tykösi ja puhun tätä maailmassa, että heillä olisi minun iloni täydellisenä heissä itsessään. 14Minä olen antanut heille sinun sanasi, ja maailma vihaa heitä, koska he eivät ole maailmasta, niinkuin en minäkään maailmasta ole. 15En minä rukoile, että ottaisit heidät pois maailmasta, vaan että sinä varjelisit heidät pahasta. 16He eivät ole maailmasta, niinkuin en minäkään maailmasta ole. 17Pyhitä heidät totuudessa; sinun sanasi on totuus. 18Niinkuin sinä olet lähettänyt minut maailmaan, niin olen minäkin lähettänyt heidät maailmaan; 19ja minä pyhitän itseni heidän tähtensä, että myös he olisivat pyhitetyt totuudessa. 20Mutta en minä rukoile ainoastaan näiden edestä, vaan myös niiden edestä, jotka heidän sanansa kautta uskovat minuun, 21että he kaikki olisivat yhtä, niinkuin sinä, Isä, olet minussa ja minä sinussa, että hekin meissä olisivat, niin että maailma uskoisi, että sinä olet minut lähettänyt. 22Ja sen kirkkauden, jonka sinä minulle annoit, minä olen antanut heille, että he olisivat yhtä, niinkuin me olemme yhtä- 23minä heissä, ja sinä minussa-että he olisivat täydellisesti yhtä, niin että maailma ymmärtäisi, että sinä olet minut lähettänyt ja rakastanut heitä, niinkuin sinä olet minua rakastanut. 24Isä, minä tahdon, että missä minä olen, siellä nekin, jotka sinä olet minulle antanut, olisivat minun kanssani, että he näkisivät minun kirkkauteni, jonka sinä olet minulle antanut, koska olet rakastanut minua jo ennen maailman perustamista. 25Vanhurskas Isä, maailma ei ole sinua tuntenut, mutta minä tunnen sinut, ja nämä ovat tulleet tuntemaan, että sinä olet minut lähettänyt. 26Ja minä olen tehnyt sinun nimesi heille tunnetuksi ja teen vastakin, että se rakkaus, jolla sinä olet minua rakastanut, olisi heissä ja minä olisin heissä."

1Jesus said these things, and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may also glorify you; 2even as you gave him authority over all flesh, he will give eternal life to all whom you have given him. 3This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ. 4I glorified you on the earth. I have accomplished the work which you have given me to do. 5Now, Father, glorify me with your own self with the glory which I had with you before the world existed. 6I revealed your name to the people whom you have given me out of the world. They were yours, and you have given them to me. They have kept your word. 7Now they have known that all things whatever you have given me are from you, 8for the words which you have given me I have given to them, and they received them, and knew for sure that I came from you, and they have believed that you sent me. 9I pray for them. I don’t pray for the world, but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. 10All things that are mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. 11I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them through your name which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are. 12While I was with them in the world, I kept them in your name. Those whom you have given me I have kept. None of them is lost, except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13But now I come to you, and I say these things in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves. 14I have given them your word. The world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world even as I am not of the world. 17Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth. 18As you sent me into the world, even so I have sent them into the world. 19For their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. 20Not for these only do I pray, but for those also who believe in me through their word, 21that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that you sent me. 22The glory which you have given me, I have given to them; that they may be one, even as we are one; 23I in them, and you in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that you sent me, and loved them, even as you loved me. 24Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may see my glory, which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world. 25Righteous Father, the world hasn’t known you, but I knew you; and these knew that you sent me. 26I made known to them your name, and will make it known; that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

1Dit heeft Jezus gesproken, en Hij hief Zijn ogen op naar den hemel, en zeide: Vader, de ure is gekomen, verheerlijk Uw Zoon, opdat ook Uw Zoon U verheerlijke. 2Gelijkerwijs Gij Hem macht gegeven hebt over alle vlees, opdat al wat Gij Hem gegeven hebt, Hij hun het eeuwige leven geve. 3En dit is het eeuwige leven, dat zij U kennen, den enigen waarachtigen God, en Jezus Christus, Dien Gij gezonden hebt. 4Ik heb U verheerlijkt op de aarde; Ik heb voleindigd het werk, dat Gij Mij gegeven hebt om te doen; 5En nu verheerlijk Mij, Gij Vader, bij Uzelven, met de heerlijkheid, die Ik bij U had, eer de wereld was. 6Ik heb Uw Naam geopenbaard den mensen, die Gij Mij uit de wereld gegeven hebt. Zij waren Uw, en Gij hebt Mij dezelve gegeven; en zij hebben Uw woord bewaard. 7Nu hebben zij bekend, dat alles, wat Gij Mij gegeven hebt, van U is. 8Want de woorden, die Gij Mij gegeven hebt, heb Ik hun gegeven, en zij hebben ze ontvangen, en zij hebben waarlijk bekend, dat Ik van U uitgegaan ben, en hebben geloofd, dat Gij Mij gezonden hebt. 9Ik bid voor hen; Ik bid niet voor de wereld, maar voor degenen, die Gij Mij gegeven hebt, want zij zijn Uw. 10En al het Mijne is Uw, en het Uwe is Mijn; en Ik ben in hen verheerlijkt. 11En Ik ben niet meer in de wereld, maar deze zijn in de wereld, en Ik kome tot U, Heilige Vader, bewaar ze in Uw Naam, die Gij Mij gegeven hebt, opdat zij een zijn, gelijk als Wij. 12Toen Ik met hen in de wereld was, bewaarde Ik ze in Uw Naam. Die Gij Mij gegeven hebt, heb Ik bewaard, en niemand uit hen is verloren gegaan, dan de zoon der verderfenis, opdat de Schrift vervuld worde. 13Maar nu kom Ik tot U, en spreek dit in de wereld, opdat zij Mijn blijdschap vervuld mogen hebben in zichzelven. 14Ik heb hun Uw woord gegeven; en de wereld heeft ze gehaat, omdat zij van de wereld niet zijn, gelijk als Ik van de wereld niet ben. 15Ik bid niet, dat Gij hen uit de wereld wegneemt, maar dat Gij hen bewaart van den boze. 16Zij zijn niet van de wereld, gelijkerwijs Ik van de wereld niet ben. 17Heilig ze in Uw waarheid; Uw woord is de waarheid. 18Gelijkerwijs Gij Mij gezonden hebt in de wereld, alzo heb Ik hen ook in de wereld gezonden. 19En Ik heilige Mijzelven voor hen, opdat ook zij geheiligd mogen zijn in waarheid. 20En Ik bid niet alleen voor dezen, maar ook voor degenen, die door hun woord in Mij geloven zullen. 21Opdat zij allen een zijn, gelijkerwijs Gij, Vader, in Mij, en Ik in U, dat ook zij in Ons een zijn; opdat de wereld gelove, dat Gij Mij gezonden hebt. 22En Ik heb hun de heerlijkheid gegeven, die Gij Mij gegeven hebt; opdat zij een zijn, gelijk als Wij Een zijn; 23Ik in hen, en Gij in Mij; opdat zij volmaakt zijn in een, en opdat de wereld bekenne, dat Gij Mij gezonden hebt, en hen liefgehad hebt, gelijk Gij Mij liefgehad hebt. 24Vader, Ik wil, dat waar Ik ben, ook die bij Mij zijn, die Gij Mij gegeven hebt; opdat zij Mijn heerlijkheid mogen aanschouwen, die Gij Mij gegeven hebt; want Gij hebt Mij liefgehad, voor de grondlegging der wereld. 25Rechtvaardige Vader, de wereld heeft U niet gekend; maar Ik heb U gekend, en dezen hebben bekend, dat Gij Mij gezonden hebt. 26En Ik heb hun Uw Naam bekend gemaakt, en zal Hem bekend maken; opdat de liefde, waarmede Gij Mij liefgehad hebt, in hen zij, en Ik in hen.
