1Y VI un cielo nuevo, y una tierra nueva: porque el primer cielo y la primera tierra se fueron, y el mar ya no es. 2Y yo Juan vi la santa ciudad, Jerusalem nueva, que descendía del cielo, de Dios, dispuesta como una esposa ataviada para su marido. 3Y oí una gran voz del cielo que decía: He aquí el tabernáculo de Dios con los hombres, y morará con ellos; y ellos serán su pueblo, y el mismo Dios será su Dios con ellos. 4Y limpiará Dios toda lágrima de los ojos de ellos; y la muerte no será más; y no habrá más llanto, ni clamor, ni dolor: porque las primeras cosas son pasadas. 5Y el que estaba sentado en el trono dijo: He aquí, yo hago nuevas todas las cosas. Y me dijo: Escribe; porque estas palabras son fieles y verdaderas. 6Y díjome: Hecho es. Yo soy Alpha y Omega, el principio y el fin. Al que tuviere sed, yo le daré de la fuente del agua de vida gratuitamente. 7El que venciere, poseerá todas las cosas; y yo seré su Dios, y él será mi hijo. 8Mas á los temerosos é incrédulos, á los abominables y homicidas, á los fornicarios y hechiceros, y á los idólatras, y á todos los mentirosos, su parte será en el lago ardiendo con fuego y azufre, que es la muerte segunda. 9Y vino á mí uno de los siete ángeles que tenían las siete copas llenas de las siete postreras plagas, y habló conmigo, diciendo: Ven acá, yo te mostraré la esposa, mujer del Cordero. 10Y llevóme en Espíritu á un grande y alto monte, y me mostró la grande ciudad santa de Jerusalem, que descendía del cielo de Dios, 11Teniendo la claridad de Dios: y su luz era semejante á una piedra preciosísima, como piedra de jaspe, resplandeciente como cristal. 12Y tenía un muro grande y alto con doce puertas; y en las puertas, doce ángeles, y nombres escritos, que son los de las doce tribus de los hijos de Israel. 13Al oriente tres puertas; al norte tres puertas; al mediodía tres puertas; al poniente tres puertas. 14Y el muro de la ciudad tenía doce fundamentos, y en ellos los doce nombres de los doce apóstoles del Cordero. 15Y el que hablaba conmigo, tenía una medida de una caña de oro para medir la ciudad, y sus puertas, y su muro. 16Y la ciudad está situada y puesta en cuadro, y su largura es tanta como su anchura: y él midió la ciudad con la caña, doce mil estadios: la largura y la altura y la anchura de ella son iguales. 17Y midió su muro, ciento cuarenta y cuatro codos, de medida de hombre, la cual es del ángel. 18Y el material de su muro era de jaspe: mas la ciudad era de oro puro, semejante al vidrio limpio. 19Y los fundamentos del muro de la ciudad estaban adornados de toda piedra preciosa. El primer fundamento era jaspe; el segundo, zafiro; el tercero, calcedonia; el cuarto, esmeralda; 20El quinto, sardónica; el sexto, sardio; el séptimo, crisólito; el octavo, berilo; el nono, topacio; el décimo, crisopraso; el undécimo, jacinto; el duodécimo, amatista. 21Y las doce puertas eran doce perlas, en cada una, una; cada puerta era de una perla. Y la plaza de la ciudad era de oro puro como vidrio trasparente. 22Y no vi en ella templo; porque el Señor Dios Todopoderoso es el templo de ella, y el Cordero. 23Y la ciudad no tenía necesidad de sol, ni de luna, para que resplandezcan en ella: porque la claridad de Dios la iluminó, y el Cordero era su lumbrera. 24Y las naciones que hubieren sido salvas andarán en la lumbre de ella: y los reyes de la tierra traerán su gloria y honor á ella. 25Y sus puertas nunca serán cerradas de día, porque allí no habrá noche. 26Y llevarán la gloria y la honra de las naciones á ella. 27No entrará en ella ninguna cosa sucia, ó que hace abominación y mentira; sino solamente los que están escritos en el libro de la vida del Cordero.
1I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth have passed away, and the sea is no more. 2I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband. 3I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with people, and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4He will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away.” 5He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” He said, “Write, for these words of God are faithful and true.” 6He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give freely to him who is thirsty from the spring of the water of life. 7He who overcomes, I will give him these things. I will be his God, and he will be my son. 8But for the cowardly, unbelieving, sinners, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers,idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” 9One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls, who were loaded with the seven last plagues came, and he spoke with me, saying, “Come here. I will show you the wife, the Lamb’s bride.” 10He carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, 11having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, as if it were a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 12having a great and high wall; having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel. 13On the east were three gates; and on the north three gates; and on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 14The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb. 15He who spoke with me had for a measure, a golden reed, to measure the city, its gates, and its walls. 16The city is square, and its length is as great as its breadth. He measured the city with the reed, Twelve thousand twelve stadia. Its length, breadth, and height are equal. 17Its wall is one hundred forty-four cubits, by the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. 18The construction of its wall was jasper. The city was pure gold, like pure glass. 19The foundations of the city’s wall were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; 20the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprasus; the eleventh, jacinth; and the twelfth, amethyst. 21The twelve gates were twelve pearls. Each one of the gates was made of one pearl. The street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. 22I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God, the Almighty, and the Lamb, are its temple. 23The city has no need for the sun, neither of the moon, to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb. 24The nations will walk in its light. The kings of the earth bring the glory and honor of the nations into it. 25Its gates will in no way be shut by day (for there will be no night there), 26and they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it so that they may enter. 27There will in no way enter into it anything profane, or one who causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

En Hij zeide tot mij: Schrijf, want deze woorden zijn waarachtig en getrouw. 6En Hij sprak tot mij: Het is geschied. Ik ben de Alfa en de Omega, het Begin en het Einde. Ik zal den dorstige geven uit de fontein van het water des levens voor niet. 7Die overwint, zal alles beerven; en Ik zal hem een God zijn, en hij zal Mij een zoon zijn. 8Maar den vreesachtigen, en ongelovigen, en gruwelijken, en doodslagers, en hoereerders, en tovenaars, en afgodendienaars, en al den leugenaars, is hun deel in den poel, die daar brandt van vuur en sulfer; hetwelk is de tweede dood. 9En tot mij kwam een van de zeven engelen, die de zeven fiolen hadden, welke vol geweest waren van de zeven laatste plagen, en sprak met mij, zeggende: Kom herwaarts, ik zal u tonen de Bruid, de Vrouw des Lams. 10En hij voerde mij weg in den geest op een groten en hogen berg, en hij toonde mij de grote stad, het heilige Jeruzalem, nederdalende uit den hemel van God. 11En zij had de heerlijkheid Gods, en haar licht was den allerkostelijksten steen gelijk, namelijk als den steen Jaspis, blinkende gelijk kristal. 12En zij had een groten en hogen muur, en had twaalf poorten, en in de poorten twaalf engelen, en namen daarop geschreven, welken zijn de namen der twaalf geslachten der kinderen Israels. 13Van het oosten waren drie poorten, van het noorden drie poorten, van het zuiden drie poorten, van het westen drie poorten. 14En de muur der stad had twaalf fondamenten, en in dezelve de namen der twaalf apostelen des Lams. 15En hij die met mij sprak, had een gouden rietstok, opdat hij de stad zou meten, en haar poorten, en haar muur. 16En de stad lag vierkant, en haar lengte was zo groot als haar breedte. Het eerste fondament was Jaspis, het tweede Saffier, het derde Chalcedon, het vierde Smaragd. 20Het vijfde Sardonix, het zesde Sardius, het zevende Chrysoliet, het achtste Beryl, het negende Topaas, het tiende Chrysopraas, het elfde Hyacinth, het twaalfde Amethyst. 21En de twaalf poorten waren twaalf paarlen, een iedere poort was elk uit een paarl; en de straat der stad was zuiver goud; gelijk doorluchtig glas. 22En ik zag geen tempel in dezelve; want de Heere, de almachtige God, is haar Tempel, en het Lam. 23En de stad behoeft de zon en de maan niet, dat zij in dezelve zouden schijnen; want de heerlijkheid Gods heeft haar verlicht, en het Lam is haar Kaars. 24En de volken, die zalig worden, zullen in haar licht wandelen; en de koningen der aarde brengen hun heerlijkheid en eer in dezelve. 25En haar poorten zullen niet gesloten worden des daags; want aldaar zal geen nacht zijn. 26En zij zullen de heerlijkheid en de eer der volken daarin brengen. 27En in haar zal niet inkomen iets, dat ontreinigt, en gruwelijkheid doet, en leugen spreekt; maar die geschreven zijn in het boek des levens des Lams.
