1RESTA, hermanos, que os gocéis en el Señor. A mí, á la verdad, no es molesto el escribiros las mismas cosas, y para vosotros es seguro. 2Guardaos de los perros, guardaos de los malos obreros, guardaos del cortamiento. 3Porque nosotros somos la circuncisión, los que servimos en espíritu á Dios, y nos gloriamos en Cristo Jesús, no teniendo confianza en la carne. 4Aunque yo tengo también de qué confiar en la carne. Si alguno parece que tiene de qué confiar en la carne, yo más: 5Circuncidado al octavo día, del linaje de Israel, de la tribu de Benjamín, Hebreo de Hebreos; cuanto á la ley, Fariseo; 6Cuanto al celo, perseguidor de la iglesia; cuanto á la justicia que es en la ley, irreprensible. 7Pero las cosas que para mí eran ganancias, helas reputado pérdidas por amor de Cristo. 8Y ciertamente, aun reputo todas las cosas pérdida por el eminente conocimiento de Cristo Jesús, mi Señor, por amor del cual lo he perdido todo, y téngolo por estiércol, para ganar á Cristo, 9Y ser hallado en él, no teniendo mi justicia, que es por la ley, sino la que es por la fe de Cristo, la justicia que es de Dios por la fe; 10A fin de conocerle, y la virtud de su resurrección, y la participación de sus padecimientos, en conformidad á su muerte, 11Si en alguna manera llegase á la resurrección de los muertos. 12No que ya haya alcanzado, ni que ya sea perfecto; sino que prosigo, por ver si alcanzo aquello para lo cual fuí también alcanzado de Cristo Jesús. 13Hermanos, yo mismo no hago cuenta de haberlo ya alcanzado; pero una cosa hago: olvidando ciertamente lo que queda atrás, y extendiéndome á lo que está delante, 14Prosigo al blanco, al premio de la soberana vocación de Dios en Cristo Jesús. 15Así que, todos los que somos perfectos, esto mismo sintamos: y si otra cosa sentís, esto también os revelará Dios. 16Empero en aquello á que hemos llegado, vamos por la misma regla, sintamos una misma cosa. 17Hermanos, sed imitadores de mí, y mirad los que así anduvieren como nos tenéis por ejemplo. 18Porque muchos andan, de los cuales os dije muchas veces, y aun ahora lo digo llorando, que son enemigos de la cruz de Cristo: 19Cuyo fin será perdición, cuyo dios es el vientre, y su gloria es en confusión; que sienten lo terreno. 20Mas nuestra vivienda es en los cielos; de donde también esperamos al Salvador, al Señor Jesucristo; 21El cual transformará el cuerpo de nuestra bajeza, para ser semejante al cuerpo de su gloria, por la operación con la cual puede también sujetar á sí todas las cosas.
1Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not tiresome, but for you it is safe. 2Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false circumcision. 3For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh; 4though I myself might have confidence even in the flesh. If any other man thinks that he has confidence in the flesh, I yet more: 5circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee; 6concerning zeal, persecuting the assembly; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, found blameless. 7However, what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ. 8Yes most certainly, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and count them nothing but refuse, that I may gain Christ 9and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed to his death; 11if by any means I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. 12Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect; but I press on, if it is so that I may take hold of that for which also I was taken hold of by Christ Jesus. 13Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, 14I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, think this way. If in anything you think otherwise, God will also reveal that to you. 16Nevertheless, to the extent that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule. Let us be of the same mind. 17Brothers, be imitators together of me, and note those who walk this way, even as you have us for an example. 18For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, as the enemies of the cross of Christ, 19whose end is destruction, whose god is the belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who think about earthly things. 20For our citizenship is in heaven, from where we also wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; 21who will change the body of our humiliation to be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working by which he is able even to subject all things to himself.
1Voorts, mijn broeders, verblijdt u in den Heere. Dezelfde dingen aan u te schrijven, is mij niet verdrietig, en het is u zeker. 2Ziet op de honden, ziet op de kwade arbeiders, ziet op de versnijding. 3Want wij zijn de besnijding, wij, die God in den Geest dienen, en in Christus Jezus roemen, en niet in het vlees betrouwen. 4Hoewel ik heb, dat ik ook in het vlees betrouwen mocht; indien iemand anders meent te betrouwen in het vlees, ik nog meer; 5Besneden ten achtsten dage, uit het geslacht van Israel, van den stam van Benjamin, een Hebreer uit de Hebreen, naar de wet een Farizeer; 6Naar den ijver een vervolger der Gemeente; naar de rechtvaardigheid, die in de wet is, zijnde onberispelijk. 7Maar hetgeen mij gewin was, dat heb ik om Christus' wil schade geacht. 8Ja, gewisselijk, ik acht ook alle dingen schade te zijn, om de uitnemendheid der kennis van Christus Jezus, mijn Heere; om Wiens wil ik al die dingen schade gerekend heb, en acht die drek te zijn, opdat ik Christus moge gewinnen. 9En in Hem gevonden worde, niet hebbende mijn rechtvaardigheid, die uit de wet is, maar die door het geloof van Christus is, namelijk de rechtvaardigheid, die uit God is door het geloof; 10Opdat ik Hem kenne, en de kracht Zijner opstanding, en de gemeenschap Zijns lijdens, Zijn dood gelijkvormig wordende; 11Of ik enigszins moge komen tot de wederopstanding der doden. 12Niet dat ik het alrede gekregen heb, of alrede volmaakt ben; maar ik jaag er naar, of ik het ook grijpen mocht, waartoe ik van Christus Jezus ook gegrepen ben. 13Broeders, ik acht niet, dat ik zelf het gegrepen heb. 14Maar een ding doe ik, vergetende, hetgeen achter is, en strekkende mij tot hetgeen voor is, jaag ik naar het wit, tot den prijs der roeping Gods, die van boven is in Christus Jezus. 15Zovelen dan als wij volmaakt zijn, laat ons dit gevoelen; en indien gij iets anderszins gevoelt, ook dat zal u God openbaren. 16Doch, daar wij toe gekomen zijn, laat ons daarin naar denzelfden regel wandelen, laat ons hetzelfde gevoelen. 17Weest mede mijn navolgers, broeders, en merkt op degenen, die alzo wandelen, gelijk gij ons tot een voorbeeld hebt. 18Want velen wandelen anders; van dewelken ik u dikmaals gezegd heb, en nu ook wenende zeg, dat zij vijanden des kruises van Christus zijn; 19Welker einde is het verderf, welker God is de buik, en welker heerlijkheid is in hun schande, dewelken aardse dingen bedenken. 20Maar onze wandel is in de hemelen, waaruit wij ook den Zaligmaker verwachten, namelijk den Heere Jezus Christus; 21Die ons vernederd lichaam veranderen zal, opdat hetzelve gelijkvormig worde aan Zijn heerlijk lichaam, naar de werking, waardoor Hij ook alle dingen Zichzelven kan onderwerpen.
