Jeremjáš 19

1Takto řekl Hospodin: Jdi a zjednej báni záhrdlitou od hrnčíře, hliněnou, a pojma některé z starších lidu a z starších kněží, 2Vejdi do údolí Benhinnom, kteréž jest u vrat brány východní, a ohlašuj tam slova ta, kteráž mluviti budu tobě. 3A rci: Slyšte slovo Hospodinovo, králové Judští i obyvatelé Jeruzalémští: Takto praví Hospodin zástupů, Bůh Izraelský: Aj, já uvedu bídu na místo toto, o kteréž kdokoli uslyší, zníti mu bude v uších jeho, 4Proto že mne opustili, a poškvrnili místa tohoto, kadíce na něm bohům cizím, jichž neznali oni, ani otcové jejich, ani králové Judští, a naplnili toto místo krví nevinných. 5Vzdělali také výsosti Bálovi, aby pálili syny své ohněm v zápaly Bálovi, čehož jsem nepřikázal, aniž jsem o tom mluvil, nýbrž ani nevstoupilo na mé srdce. 6Protož aj, dnové jdou, dí Hospodin, v nichž nebude slouti více toto místo Tofet, ani údolí Benhinnom, ale údolí mordu. 7Nebo v nic obrátím radu Judovu i Jeruzalémských v místě tomto, způsobě to, aby padli od meče před nepřátely svými, a od ruky těch, kteříž hledají bezživotí jejich, i dám mrtvá těla jejich za pokrm ptactvu nebeskému a šelmám zemským. 8Obrátím také město toto v poušť na odivu. Každý, kdožkoli půjde mimo ně, užasne se, a ckáti bude pro všelijaké rány jeho. 9A způsobím to, že žráti budou maso synů svých a maso dcer svých, tolikéž jeden každý maso bližního svého žráti bude, v obležení a v ssoužení, kterýmž ssouží je nepřátelé jejich, a ti, kteříž hledají bezživotí jejich. 10Potom roztluc tu záhrdlitou báni před očima těch lidí, kteříž půjdou s tebou, 11A rci jim: Takto praví Hospodin zástupů: Tak potluku lid tento i město toto, jako ten, kdož rozráží nádobu hrnčířskou, kteráž nemůže opravena býti více, a v Tofet pochovávati budou, proto že nebude žádného místa ku pohřbu. 12Tak učiním místu tomuto, dí Hospodin, i obyvatelům jeho, a naložím s městem tímto tak jako s Tofet. 13Nebo budou domové Jeruzalémských i domové králů Judských tak jako toto místo Tofet zanečištěni se všechněmi domy těmi, na jejichž střechách kadili všemu vojsku nebeskému, a obětovali oběti mokré bohům cizím. 14Tedy navrátiv se Jeremiáš z Tofet, kamž jej byl poslal Hospodin, aby prorokoval tam, postavil se v síňci domu Hospodinova, a řekl ke všemu lidu: 15Takto praví Hospodin zástupů, Bůh Izraelský: Aj, já uvedu na město toto i na všecka města jeho všecko to zlé, kteréž jsem vyřkl proti němu; nebo zatvrdili šíji svou, aby neposlouchali slov mých.

1Thus said Yahweh, Go, and buy a potter’s earthen bottle, and take some of the elders of the people, and of the elders of the priests; 2and go out to the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is by the entry of the gate Harsith, and proclaim there the words that I shall tell you; 3and say, Hear Yahweh’s word, kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem: thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, Behold, I will bring evil on this place, which whoever hears, his ears shall tingle. 4Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it to other gods, that they didn’t know, they and their fathers and the kings of Judah; and have filled this place with the blood of innocents, 5and have built the high places of Baal, to burn their sons in the fire for burnt offerings to Baal; which I didn’t command, nor spoke it, neither came it into my mind: 6therefore, behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that this place shall no more be called Topheth, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of Slaughter. 7I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hand of those who seek their life: and their dead bodies will I give to be food for the birds of the sky, and for the animals of the earth. 8I will make this city an astonishment, and a hissing; everyone who passes thereby shall be astonished and hiss because of all its plagues. 9I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters; and they shall eat everyone the flesh of his friend, in the siege and in the distress, with which their enemies, and those who seek their life, shall distress them. 10Then you shall break the bottle in the sight of the men who go with you, 11and shall tell them, Thus says Yahweh of Armies: Even so will I break this people and this city, as one breaks a potter’s vessel, that can’t be made whole again; and they shall bury in Topheth, until there is no place to bury. 12Thus will I do to this place, says Yahweh, and to its inhabitants, even making this city as Topheth: 13and the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, which are defiled, shall be as the place of Topheth, even all the houses on whose roofs they have burned incense to all the army of the sky, and have poured out drink offerings to other gods. 14Then came Jeremiah from Topheth, where Yahweh had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of Yahweh’s house, and said to all the people: 15Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, Behold, I will bring on this city and on all its towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it; because they have made their neck stiff, that they may not hear my words.

1Zo zegt de HEERE: Ga henen en koop een pottenbakkerskruik, en neem tot u van de oudsten des volks, en van de oudsten der priesteren. 2En ga uit naar het dal des zoons van Hinnom, dat voor de deur der Zonnepoort is, en roep aldaar uit de woorden, die Ik tot u spreken zal; 3En zeg: Hoort des HEEREN woord, gij koningen van Juda en inwoners van Jeruzalem! Alzo zegt de HEERE der heirscharen, de God Israels: Ziet, Ik zal een kwaad brengen over deze plaats, van hetwelk een ieder, die het hoort, zijn oren klinken zullen; 4Omdat zij Mij verlaten, en deze plaats vervreemd, en andere goden daarin gerookt hebben die zij niet gekend hebben, zij, noch hun vaderen, noch de koningen van Juda; en hebben deze plaats vervuld met bloed der onschuldigen. 5Want zij hebben de hoogten van Baal gebouwd, om hun zonen met vuur te verbranden, aan Baal tot brandofferen; hetwelk Ik niet geboden, noch gesproken heb, noch in Mijn hart is opgekomen? 6Daarom, ziet, de dagen komen, spreekt de HEERE, dat deze plaats niet meer zal genoemd worden het Tofeth, of dat des zoons van Hinnom, maar Moorddal. 7Want Ik zal den raad van Juda en Jeruzalem in deze plaats verijdelen, en zal hen voor het aangezicht hunner vijanden doen vallen door het zwaard, en door de hand dergenen, die hun ziel zoeken; en Ik zal hun dode lichamen het gevogelte des hemels en het gedierte der aarde tot spijze geven. 8En Ik zal deze stad zetten tot een ontzetting en tot een aanfluiting; al wie voorbij haar gaat, zal zich ontzetten en fluiten over al haar plagen. 9En Ik zal hunlieden het vlees hunner zonen en het vlees hunner dochteren doen eten, en zij zullen eten, een iegelijk het vlees zijns naasten, in de belegering en in de benauwing, waarmede hen hun vijanden, en die hun ziel zoeken, benauwen zullen. 10Dan zult gij de kruik verbreken voor de ogen der mannen, die met u gegaan zijn; 11En gij zult tot hen zeggen: Zo zegt de HEERE der heirscharen: Alzo zal Ik dit volk en deze stad verbreken, gelijk als men een pottenbakkersvat verbreekt, dat niet weder geheeld kan worden; en zij zullen hen in Tofeth begraven, omdat er geen andere plaats zal zijn om te begraven. 12Zo zal Ik deze plaats doen, spreekt de HEERE, en haar inwoners; en dat om deze stad te stellen als een Tofeth. 13En de huizen van Jeruzalem en de huizen der koningen van Juda zullen, gelijk alle plaatsen van Tofeth, onrein worden, met al de huizen, op welker daken zij aan al het heir des hemels gerookt en aan vreemde goden drankofferen geofferd hebben. 14Toen nu Jeremia van Tofeth kwam, waarhenen hem de HEERE gezonden had, om te profeteren, stond hij in het voorhof van des HEEREN huis, en zeide tot al het volk: 15Zo zegt de HEERE der heirscharen, de God Israels: Ziet, Ik zal over deze stad, en over al haar steden, al het kwaad brengen, dat Ik over haar gesproken heb; omdat zij hun nek verhard hebben, om Mijn woorden niet te horen.
