1І було по сих речах, що Бог спокушував Авраама, і рече йому: Аврааме, Аврааме! І каже: Ось я! 2І рече: Возьми сина твого, єдиного твого, що його возлюбив єси, Ізаака, та йди в Морія землю, та й принеси його там у всепаленнє-жертву на одній горі, що тобі речу. 3І встав Авраам рано вранцї та й осїдлав осла свого, та взяв два парубки з собою, та Ізаака сина свого, та наколов дров на всепаленнє, та й рушив до врочища, що про його рече йому Бог. 4На третїй же день позирнув Авраам очима своїми, та й побачив те врочище здалеку. 5І каже Авраам слугам своїм: Седїте тутеньки з ослом, я ж із сином пійдемо аж он туди, та поклонившись і вернемось до вас. 6Узяв же Авраам дрова на всепаленнє, та й положив на Ізаака, сина свого; взяв же в руки й огонь і жертівного ножа, та й пійшли обидва вкупі. 7Каже ж Ізаак до Авраама, батька свого: Панотче! Він же каже: Що тобі, синку? Каже ж: Ось огонь і дрова, а де ж овеча на всепаленнє? 8Каже ж Авраам: Бог обмислить собі ягня на всепаленнє. І йшли собі обоє вкупі. 9Прийшли на врочище, що рече йому Бог, і зробив там Авраам жертівника, і розложив дрова, і звязавши Ізаака, сина свого, положив його на жертівнику зверху на дровах. 10І простїг Авраам руку свою, щоб узяти ножа заколоти сина свого. 11Аж озветься до його ангел Господень і рече: Аврааме, Аврааме! Він же каже: Ось я. 12І рече: Не возложи руки твоєї на хлопя, а нїчогісїнько не чини йому; тепер бо взнав я, що боїшся ти Бога, і не пощадив єси сина твого возлюбленого мене ради. 13І позирнувши Авраам очима своїми побачив, що баран із заду завяз рогами в гущинї. І пійшов Авраам і взяв барана і принїс його на всеспаленнє замість Ізаака сина свого. 14І приложив Авраам прізвище врочищу тому Єгова-Уре, Господь бачить, як і по сей день говорять: На горі Господа побачять. 15І озветься ангел Господень до Авраама вдруге з небес, 16Глаголючи: Мною самим клявсь я — се Господнє слово — за те, що вчинив єси таку річ, і не пощадив єси сина свого возлюбленого мене ради. 17Велико благословлю тебе, і намножу твій рід як зорі небесні, і як пісок узкрай моря, і внаслїдує потомство твоє царини ворогів своїх. 18І благословляться в потомстві твойму всї народи землї, тим що послухав єси голосу мого. 19Вернувся ж Авраам до слуг своїх і рушили вони й пійшли вкупі до Бейер-Себи, і вселивсь Авраам коло колодязя клятьби. 20Сталося ж по сїх речах, що зъясовано Абраамові словами: Ось і Милка і вона вродила сини братові твойму Нахорові, 21Уза, перворідня його, та Буса, брата його, та Кемуїла, отця Арамова, 22Та Хеседа, та Газа, та Пидаса, та Ідлафа, та Батуїла. 23Батуїл же появив Ребеку. Сих восьмерох уродила Милка Нахорові, братові Авраамовому. 24І наложниця його, на імя Реюма, ся вродила Тебаха та Гахама та Тегаса та Маяха.
1After these things, God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” He said, “Here I am.” 2He said, “Now take your son, your only son, whom you love, even Isaac, and go into the land of Moriah. Offer him there for a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of.” 3Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son. He split the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went to the place of which God had told him. 4On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place far off. 5Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey. The boy and I will go yonder. We will worship, and come back to you.” 6Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son. He took in his hand the fire and the knife. They both went together. 7Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, and said, “My father?” He said, “Here I am, my son.” He said, “Here is the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” 8Abraham said, “God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” So they both went together. 9They came to the place which God had told him of. Abraham built the altar there, and laid the wood in order, bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, on the wood. 10Abraham stretched out his hand, and took the knife to kill his son. 11Yahweh’s angel called to him out of the sky, and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” He said, “Here I am.” 12He said, “Don’t lay your hand on the boy, neither do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.” 13Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and saw that behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering instead of his son. 14Abraham called the name of that place Yahweh Will Provide. As it is said to this day, “On Yahweh’s mountain, it will be provided.” 15Yahweh’s angel called to Abraham a second time out of the sky, 16and said, “I have sworn by myself, says Yahweh, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17that I will bless you greatly, and I will multiply your seed greatly like the stars of the heavens, and like the sand which is on the seashore. Your seed will possess the gate of his enemies. 18All the nations of the earth will be blessed by your seed, because you have obeyed my voice.” 19So Abraham returned to his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba. Abraham lived at Beersheba. 20After these things, it was told Abraham, saying, “Behold, Milcah, she also has borne children to your brother Nahor: 21Uz his firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel the father of Aram, 22Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel.” 23Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham’s brother. 24His concubine, whose name was Reumah, also bore Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah.

En hij zeide: Zie, hier ben ik, mijn zoon! En hij zeide: Zie het vuur en het hout; maar waar is het lam tot het brandoffer? 8En Abraham zeide: God zal Zichzelven een lam ten brandoffer voorzien, mijn zoon! Zo gingen zij beiden samen. 9En zij kwamen ter plaatse, die hem God gezegd had; en Abraham bouwde aldaar een altaar, en hij schikte het hout, en bond zijn zoon Izak, en legde hem op het altaar boven op het hout. 10En Abraham strekte zijn hand uit, en nam het mes om zijn zoon te slachten. 11Maar de Engel des HEEREN riep tot hem van den hemel en zeide: Abraham, Abraham! En hij zeide: Zie, hier ben ik! 12Toen zeide Hij: Strek uw hand niet uit aan den jongen, en doe hem niets! want nu weet Ik, dat gij God vrezende zijt, en uw zoon, uw enige, van Mij niet hebt onthouden. 13Toen hief Abraham zijn ogen op, en zag om, en ziet, achter was een ram in de verwarde struiken vast met zijn hoornen; en Abraham ging, en nam dien ram, en offerde hem ten brandoffer in zijns zoons plaats. 14En Abraham noemde den naam van die plaats: De HEERE zal het voorzien! Waarom heden ten dage gezegd wordt: Op den berg des HEEREN zal het voorzien worden! 15Toen riep de Engel des HEEREN tot Abraham ten tweeden male van den hemel; 16En zeide: Ik zweer bij Mijzelven, spreekt de HEERE; daarom dat gij deze zaak gedaan hebt, en uw zoon, uw enige, niet onthouden hebt; 17Voorzeker zal Ik u grotelijks zegenen, en uw zaad zeer vermenigvuldigen, als de sterren des hemels, en als het zand, dat aan den oever der zee is; en uw zaad zal de poorten zijner vijanden erfelijk bezitten. 18En in uw zaad zullen gezegend worden alle volken der aarde, naardien gij Mijn stem gehoorzaam geweest zijt. 19Toen keerde Abraham weder tot zijn jongeren, en zij maakten zich op, en zij gingen samen naar Ber-seba; en Abraham woonde te Ber-seba. 20En het geschiedde na deze dingen, dat men Abraham boodschapte, zeggende: Zie, Milka heeft ook Nahor, uw broeder, zonen gebaard: 21Uz, zijn eerstgeborene, en Buz, zijn broeder, en Kemuel, de vader van Aram, 22En Chesed, en Hazo, en Pildas, en Jidlaf, en Bethuel; 23(En Bethuel gewon Rebekka) deze acht baarde Milka aan Nahor, den broeder van Abraham. 24En zijn bijwijf, welker naam was Reuma, diezelve baarde ook Tebah, en Gaham, en Tahas, en Maacha.
