1В начале царствования Иоакима, сына Иосии, царя Иудейского, было такое слово от Господа: 2так говорит Господь: стань на дворе дома Господня и скажи ко всем городам Иудеи, приходящим на поклонение в дом Господень, все те слова, какие повелю тебе сказать им; не убавь ни слова. 3Может быть, они послушают и обратятся каждый от злого пути своего, и тогда Я отменю то бедствие, которое думаю сделать им за злые деяния их. 4И скажи им: так говорит Господь: если вы не послушаетесь Меня в том, чтобы поступать по закону Моему, который Я дал вам, 5чтобы внимать словам рабов Моих, пророков, которых Я посылаю к вам, посылаю с раннего утра, и которых вы не слушаете, - 6то с домом сим Я сделаю то же, что с Силомом, и город сей предам на проклятие всем народам земли. 7Священники и пророки и весь народ слушали Иеремию, когда он говорил сии слова в доме Господнем. 8И когда Иеремия сказал все, что Господь повелел ему сказать всему народу, тогда схватили его священники и пророки и весь народ, и сказали: "ты должен умереть; 9зачем ты пророчествуешь именем Господа и говоришь: дом сей будет как Силом, и город сей опустеет, останется без жителей?" И собрался весь народ против Иеремии в доме Господнем. 10Когда услышали об этом князья Иудейские, то пришли из дома царя к дому Господню и сели у входа в новые ворота дома Господня. 11Тогда священники и пророки так сказали князьям и всему народу: "смертный приговор этому человеку! потому что он пророчествует против города сего, как вы слышали своими ушами". 12И сказал Иеремия всем князьям и всему народу: "Господь послал меня пророчествовать против дома сего и против города сего все те слова, которые вы слышали; 13итак исправьте пути ваши и деяния ваши и послушайтесь гласа Господа Бога вашего, и Господь отменит бедствие, которое изрек на вас; 14а что до меня, вот — я в ваших руках; делайте со мною, что в глазах ваших покажется хорошим и справедливым; 15только твердо знайте, что если вы умертвите меня, то невинную кровь возложите на себя и на город сей и на жителей его; ибо истинно Господь послал меня к вам сказать все те слова в уши ваши". 16Тогда князья и весь народ сказали священникам и пророкам: "этот человек не подлежит смертному приговору, потому что он говорил нам именем Господа Бога нашего". 17И из старейшин земли встали некоторые и сказали всему народному собранию: 18"Михей Морасфитянин пророчествовал во дни Езекии, царя Иудейского, и сказал всему народу Иудейскому: так говорит Господь Саваоф: Сион будет вспахан, как поле, и Иерусалим сделается грудою развалин, и гора дома сего — лесистым холмом. 19Умертвили ли его за это Езекия, царь Иудейский, и весь Иуда? Не убоялся ли он Господа и не умолял ли Господа? и Господь отменил бедствие, которое изрек на них; а мы хотим сделать большое зло душам нашим? 20Пророчествовал также именем Господа некто Урия, сын Шемаии, из Кариаф-Иарима, — и пророчествовал против города сего и против земли сей точно такими же словами, как Иеремия. 21Когда услышал слова его царь Иоаким и все вельможи его и все князья, то искал царь умертвить его. Услышав об этом, Урия убоялся и убежал, и удалился в Египет. 22Но царь Иоаким и в Египет послал людей: Елнафана, сына Ахборова, и других с ним. 23И вывели Урию из Египта и привели его к царю Иоакиму, и он умертвил его мечом и бросил труп его, где были простонародные гробницы. 24Но рука Ахикама, сына Сафанова, была за Иеремию, чтобы не отдавать его в руки народа на убиение".
1In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, came this word from Yahweh, saying, 2Thus says Yahweh: Stand in the court of Yahweh’s house, and speak to all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in Yahweh’s house, all the words that I command you to speak to them; don’t diminish a word. 3It may be they will listen, and turn every man from his evil way; that I may repent me of the evil which I purpose to do to them because of the evil of their doings. 4You shall tell them, Thus says Yahweh: If you will not listen to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you, 5to listen to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I send to you, even rising up early and sending them, but you have not listened; 6then I will make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth. 7The priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in Yahweh’s house. 8When Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that Yahweh had commanded him to speak to all the people, the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying, “You shall surely die.” 9Why have you prophesied in Yahweh’s name, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without inhabitant? All the people were gathered to Jeremiah in Yahweh’s house. 10When the princes of Judah heard these things, they came up from the king’s house to Yahweh’s house; and they sat in the entry of the new gate of Yahweh’s house. 11Then spoke the priests and the prophets to the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy of death; for he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears. 12Then spoke Jeremiah to all the princes and to all the people, saying, Yahweh sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard. 13Now therefore amend your ways and your doings, and obey Yahweh your God’s voice; and Yahweh will repent him of the evil that he has pronounced against you. 14But as for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as is good and right in your eyes. 15Only know for certain that, if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood on yourselves, and on this city, and on its inhabitants; for of a truth Yahweh has sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears. 16Then the princes and all the people said to the priests and to the prophets: This man is not worthy of death; for he has spoken to us in the name of Yahweh our God. 17Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spoke to all the assembly of the people, saying, 18Micah the Morashtite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and he spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus says Yahweh of Armies: Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest. 19Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him to death? Didn’t he fear Yahweh, and entreat the favor of Yahweh, and Yahweh relented of the disaster which he had pronounced against them? Thus should we commit great evil against our own souls. 20There was also a man who prophesied in Yahweh’s name, Uriah the son of Shemaiah of Kiriath Jearim; and he prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah: 21and when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death; but when Uriah heard it, he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt: 22and Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him, into Egypt; 23and they fetched Uriah out of Egypt, and brought him to Jehoiakim the king, who killed him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people. 24But the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
1In het begin des koninkrijks van Jojakim, den zoon van Josia, koning van Juda, geschiedde dit woord van den HEERE, zeggende: 2Zo zegt de HEERE: Sta in het voorhof van het huis des HEEREN, en spreek tot alle steden van Juda, die komen om aan te bidden in het huis des HEEREN, al de woorden, die Ik u geboden heb tot hen te spreken, doe er niet een woord af. 3Misschien zullen zij horen, en zich bekeren, een iegelijk van zijn bozen weg; zo zou Ik berouw hebben over het kwaad, dat Ik hun denk te doen vanwege de boosheid hunner handelingen. 4Zeg dan tot hen: Zo zegt de HEERE: Zo gijlieden naar Mij niet zult horen, dat gij wandelt in Mijn wet, die Ik voor uw aangezicht gegeven heb; 5Horende naar de woorden Mijner knechten, de profeten, die Ik tot u zende, zelfs vroeg op zijnde en zendende; doch gij niet gehoord hebt; 6Zo zal Ik dit huis stellen als Silo, en deze stad zal Ik stellen tot een vloek allen volken der aarde. 7En de priesters, en de profeten, en al het volk, hoorden Jeremia deze woorden spreken in het huis des HEEREN. 8Zo geschiedde het, als Jeremia geeindigd had te spreken alles, wat de HEERE geboden had tot al het volk te spreken, dat de priesters en de profeten en al het volk hem grepen, zeggende: Gij zult den dood sterven! 9Waarom hebt gij in den Naam des HEEREN geprofeteerd, zeggende: Dit huis zal worden als Silo, en deze stad zal woest worden, dat er niemand wone? En het ganse volk werd vergaderd tegen Jeremia, in het huis des HEEREN. 10Als nu de vorsten van Juda deze woorden hoorden, gingen zij op uit het huis des konings naar het huis des HEEREN; en zij zetten zich bij de deur der nieuwe poort des HEEREN. 11Toen spraken de priesters en de profeten tot de vorsten en tot al het volk, zeggende: Aan dezen man is een oordeel des doods, want hij heeft geprofeteerd tegen deze stad, gelijk als gij met uw oren gehoord hebt. 12Maar Jeremia sprak tot al de vorsten en tot al het volk, zeggende: De HEERE heeft mij gezonden, om tegen dit huis en tegen deze stad te profeteren al de woorden, die gij gehoord hebt; 13Nu dan, maakt uw wegen en uw handelingen goed, en gehoorzaamt de stem des HEEREN, uws Gods; zo zal het den HEERE berouwen over het kwaad, dat Hij tegen u gesproken heeft. 14Doch ik, ziet, ik ben in uw handen; doet mij, als het goed, en als het recht is in uw ogen; 15Maar weet voorzeker, dat gij, zo gij mij doodt, gewisselijk onschuldig bloed zult brengen op u, en op deze stad, en op haar inwoners; want in der waarheid, de HEERE heeft mij tot u gezonden, om al deze woorden voor uw oren te spreken. 16Toen zeiden de vorsten en al het volk tot de priesteren en tot de profeten: Aan dezen man is geen oordeel des doods, want hij heeft tot ons gesproken in den Naam des HEEREN, onzes Gods. 17Ook stonden er mannen op, van de oudsten des lands, en spraken tot de ganse gemeente des volks, zeggende: 18Micha, de Morastiet, heeft in de dagen van Hizkia, koning van Juda, geprofeteerd, en tot al het volk van Juda gesproken, zeggende: Zo zegt de HEERE des heirscharen: Sion zal als een akker geploegd, en Jeruzalem tot steen hopen worden, en de berg dezes huizes tot hoogten des wouds. 19Hebben ook Hizkia, de koning van Juda, en gans Juda hem ooit gedood? Vreesde hij niet den HEERE, en smeekte des HEEREN aangezicht, zodat het den HEERE berouwde over het kwaad, dat Hij tegen hen gesproken had? Wij dan doen een groot kwaad tegen onze zielen. 20Er was ook een man, die in den Naam des HEEREN profeteerde, Uria, de zoon van Semaja, van Kirjath-Jearim; die profeteerde tegen deze stad en tegen dit land, naar al de woorden van Jeremia. 21En als de koning Jojakim, mitsgaders al zijn geweldigen, en al de vorsten zijn woorden hoorden, zocht de koning hem te doden; als Uria dat hoorde, zo vreesde hij, en vluchtte, en kwam in Egypte; 22Maar de koning Jojakim zond mannen naar Egypte, Elnathan, den zoon van Achbor, en andere mannen met hem, in Egypte; 23Die voerden Uria uit Egypte, en brachten hem tot den koning Jojakim, en hij sloeg hem met het zwaard, en hij wierp zijn dood lichaam in de graven van de kinderen des volks. 24Maar de hand van Ahikam, den zoon van Safan, was met Jeremia, dat men hem niet overgaf in de hand des volk, om hem te doden.
