1E um grande sinal foi visto no céu: uma mulher vestida do sol, e a lua debaixo dos pés dela, e sobre sua cabeça uma coroa de doze estrelas; 2E ela estava grávida, gritando, tendo dores de parto, e sendo atormentada pelo trabalho de parto. 3E foi visto outro sinal no céu; e eis que era um grande dragão vermelho, que tinha sete cabeças e dez chifres, e sobre suas cabeças sete coroas. 4E sua cauda levava após si a terça parte das estrelas do céu, e as lançou sobre a terra; e o dragão ficou parado diante da mulher, que estava a ponto de gerar filho ; para que, quando ela gerasse, o dragão devorasse o filho dela. 5E ela gerou um filho macho, que com vara de ferro ia dominar todas as nações; e o filho dela foi arrebatado para Deus e para o trono dele. 6E a mulher fugiu para o deserto, onde ela tinha lugar preparado por Deus, para que lá a alimentassem por mil duzentos e sessenta dias. 7E houve batalha no céu: Miguel e seus anjos batalhavam contra o dragão; e batalhava também contra eles o dragão e seus anjos. 8Mas eles não prevaleceram, nem mais o lugar deles foi achado nos céus. 9E foi lançado o grande dragão, a serpente antiga, chamada o diabo e Satanás, que engana a todo o mundo, ele foi lançado na terra, e seus anjos também foram lançados com ele. 10E eu ouvi uma grande voz no céu, dizendo: Agora veio a salvação, e a força, e o reino de nosso Deus, e o poder de seu Cristo; porque já foi lançado abaixo o acusador de nossos irmãos, o qual os acusava diante de nosso Deus dia e noite. 11E eles o venceram pelo sangue do Cordeiro, e pela palavra do testemunho deles; e eles não amaram suas vidas até a morte. 12Por isso alegrai-vos, céus, e os que nele habitais! Ai dos que habitam na terra, e no mar! Porque o diabo desceu até vos, tendo grande ira, sabendo que ele tem pouco tempo. 13E quando o dragão viu que tinha sido lançado na terra, ele perseguiu a mulher que tinha gerado ao filho macho. 14E foram dadas à mulher duas asas de grande água, para que voasse ao deserto, ao lugar dela, onde ali ela é alimentada por um tempo, e tempos, e a metade de um tempo, longe da face da serpente. 15E a serpente lançou de sua boca água como de um rio, atrás da mulher, para fazer com que esta mulher seja levada pela correnteza. 16E a terra ajudou a mulher, e a terra abriu a sua boca, e engoliu ao rio que o dragão tinha lançado de sua boca. 17E o dragão se irou contra a mulher, e saiu para fazer guerra contra os demais da semente dela, os que guardam os mandamentos de Deus e têm o testemunho de Jesus Cristo. 18E eu fiquei parado sobre a areia do mar.
1A great sign was seen in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. 2She was with child. She cried out in pain, laboring to give birth. 3Another sign was seen in heaven. Behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns. 4His tail drew one third of the stars of the sky, and threw them to the earth. The dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child. 5She gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron. Her child was caught up to God, and to his throne. 6The woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that there they may nourish her one thousand two hundred sixty days. 7There was war in the sky. Michael and his angels made war on the dragon. The dragon and his angels made war. 8They didn’t prevail, neither was a place found for him any more in heaven. 9The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ has come; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night. 11They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn’t love their life, even to death. 12Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time.” 13When the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child. 14Two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, so that she might be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. 15The serpent spewed water out of his mouth after the woman like a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream. 16The earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon spewed out of his mouth. 17The dragon grew angry with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep God’s commandments and hold Jesus’ testimony.
1En er werd een groot teken gezien in den hemel; namelijk een vrouw, bekleed met de zon; en de maan was onder haar voeten, en op haar hoofd een kroon van twaalf sterren; 2En zij was zwanger, en riep, barensnood hebbende, en zijnde in pijn om te baren. 3En er werd een ander teken gezien in den hemel; en ziet, er was een grote rode draak, hebbende zeven hoofden, en tien hoornen, en op zijn hoofden zeven koninklijke hoeden. 4En zijn staart trok het derde deel der sterren des hemels, en wierp die op de aarde. En de draak stond voor de vrouw, die baren zou, opdat hij haar kind zou verslinden, wanneer zij het zou gebaard hebben. 5En zij baarde een mannelijken zoon, die al de heidenen zou hoeden met een ijzeren roede; en haar kind werd weggerukt tot God en Zijn troon. 6En de vrouw vluchtte in de woestijn, alwaar zij een plaats had, haar van God bereid, opdat zij haar aldaar zouden voeden duizend tweehonderd zestig dagen. 7En er werd krijg in den hemel; Michael en zijn engelen krijgden tegen den draak, en de draak krijgde ook en zijn engelen. 8En zij hebben niet vermocht, en hun plaats is niet meer gevonden in den hemel. 9En de grote draak is geworpen, namelijk de oude slang, welke genaamd wordt duivel en satanas, die de gehele wereld verleidt, hij is, zeg ik, geworpen op de aarde; en zijn engelen zijn met hem geworpen. 10En ik hoorde een grote stem, zeggende in den hemel: Nu is de zaligheid, en de kracht, en het koninkrijk geworden onzes Gods; en de macht van Zijn Christus; want de verklager onzer broederen, die hen verklaagde voor onzen God dag en nacht is nedergeworpen. 11En zij hebben hem overwonnen door het bloed des Lams, en door het woord hunner getuigenis, en zij hebben hun leven niet liefgehad tot den dood toe. 12Hierom bedrijft vreugde, gij hemelen, en gij, die daarin woont! Wee dengenen, die de aarde en de zee bewonen, want de duivel is tot u afgekomen, en heeft groten toorn, wetende, dat hij een kleinen tijd heeft. 13En toen de draak zag, dat hij op de aarde geworpen was, zo heeft hij de vrouw vervolgd, die het manneken gebaard had. 14En der vrouwe zijn gegeven twee vleugelen eens groten arends, opdat zij zou vliegen in de woestijn, in haar plaats, alwaar zij gevoed wordt een tijd, en tijden, en een halven tijd, buiten het gezicht der slang. 15En de slang wierp uit haar mond achter de vrouw water als een rivier, opdat hij haar door de rivier zou doen wegvoeren. 16En de aarde kwam de vrouw te hulp, en de aarde opende haar mond, en verzwolg de rivier, welke de draak uit zijn mond had geworpen. 17En de draak vergrimde op de vrouw, en ging heen om krijg te voeren tegen de overigen van haar zaad, die de geboden Gods bewaren, en de getuigenis van Jezus Christus hebben. En ik stond op het zand der zee.
