1E Jesus entrou e foi passando por Jericó. 2E eis que havia ali um homem, chamado pelo nome de Zaqueu, e este era chefe dos cobradores de impostos, e era rico. 3E procurava ver quem era Jesus, e não podia, por causa da multidão, pois era pequeno de altura. 4E correndo com antecedência, subiu em uma árvore de frutos que parecem figos, para o ver; porque ele passaria por ali. 5E quando Jesus chegou a aquele lugar, olhando para cima, o viu, e disse-lhe: Zaqueu, apressa-te, e desce; porque hoje é necessário que eu fique em tua casa. 6E apressando-se, desceu, e o recebeu com alegria. 7E todos, vendo isto ,murmuravam, dizendo: Ele entrou para se hospedar com um homem pecador. 8E Zaqueu, levantando-se, disse ao Senhor: Senhor, eis que dou a metade de meus bens aos pobres; e se eu consegui algo enganando a alguém, eu o devolvo quatro vezes mais. 9E Jesus lhe disse: Hoje houve salvação nesta casa, porque ele também é filho de Abraão. 10Porque o Filho do homem veio para buscar, e para salvar o que tinha se perdido. 11E ouvindo eles estas coisas, Jesus prosseguiu, e disse uma parábola, porque estava perto de Jerusalém, e pensavam que logo o Reino seria manifesto. 12Disse, pois: Um certo homem nobre partiu para uma terra distante. 13E chamando dez servos seus, deu-lhes dez minas, e disse-lhes: Investi até que eu venha; 14E seus cidadãos o odiavam; e mandaram representantes depois dele, dizendo: Não queremos que este reine sobre nós. 15E aconteceu que, quando ele voltou, tendo tomado o reino, disse que lhe chamassem a aqueles servos, a quem tinha dado o dinheiro, para saber o que cada um tinha ganho fazendo investimentos. 16E veio o primeiro, dizendo: Senhor, tua mina rendeu outras dez minas. 17E ele lhe disse: Ótimo, bom servo! Por teres sido fiel no pouco, terás autoridade sobre dez cidades. 18E veio o segundo, dizendo: Senhor, tua mina rendeu cinco minas. 19E disse também a este: E tu governarás cinco cidades. 20E veio outro, dizendo: Eis aqui tua mina, que guardei em um lenço. 21Porque tive medo de ti, que és um homem rigoroso, que tomas o que não puseste, e colhes o que não semeaste. 22Porém ele lhe disse: Servo mau, por tua boca eu te julgarei; tu sabias que eu era um homem rigoroso, que tomo o que não pus, e que colho o que não semeei; 23Por que, então, não puseste meu dinheiro no banco; e quando eu viesse, o receberia de volta com juros? 24E disse aos que estavam com ele: Tirai-lhe a mina, e dai-a ao que tem as dez minas. 25E eles lhe disseram: Senhor, ele já tem dez minas. 26O senhor respondeu: Porque eu vos digo, que todo aquele que tiver, lhe será dado; mas ao que não tiver, até o que tem, lhe será tirado. 27Porém a aqueles meus inimigos, que não quiseram que eu reinasse sobre eles, trazei - os aqui, e matai -os diante de mim. 28E dito isto, ele foi caminhando adiante, subindo para Jerusalém. 29E aconteceu que, chegando perto de Betfagé, e de Betânia, ao monte chamado das Oliveiras, mandou a dois de seus discípulos, 30Dizendo: Ide à aldeia que está em frente; onde, ao entrardes, achareis um potro atado, em que ninguém jamais se sentou; soltai-o, e trazei -o . 31E se alguém vos perguntar: Por que o soltais? Mas agora isto está escondido de teus olhos. 43Porque dias virão sobre ti, em que teus inimigos lhe cercarão com barricadas, e ao redor te sitiarão, e lhe pressionarão por todos os lados. 44E derrubarão a ti, e a teus filhos; e não deixarão em ti pedra sobre pedra, porque não conheceste o tempo em que foste visitada. 45E entrando no Templo, começou a expulsar a todos os que vendiam e compravam ali, 46Dizendo-lhes: Está escrito: Minha casa é casa de oração; Mas vós a tendes feito um esconderijo de ladrões. 47E ensinava diariamente no Templo; e os chefes dos sacerdotes, e os escribas, e os chefes do povo, procuravam matá-lo. 48E não achavam como fazer, porque todo o povo o ouvia com muita atenção.
1He entered and was passing through Jericho. 2There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. 3He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short. 4He ran on ahead, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was to pass that way. 5When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” 6He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully. 7When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.” 8Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.” 9Jesus said to him, “Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham. 10For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.” 11As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that the Kingdom of God would be revealed immediately. 12He said therefore, “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. 13He called ten servants of his, and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, ‘Conduct business until I come.’ 14But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, ‘We don’t want this man to reign over us.’ 15“When he had come back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business. 16The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’ 17“He said to him, ‘Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’ 18“The second came, saying, ‘Your mina, Lord, has made five minas.’ 19“So he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’ 20Another came, saying, ‘Lord, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief, 21for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which you didn’t lay down, and reap that which you didn’t sow.’ 22“He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth will I judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down, and reaping that which I didn’t sow. 23Then why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?’ 24He said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina away from him, and give it to him who has the ten minas.’ 25“They said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’ 26‘For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him. 27But bring those enemies of mine who didn’t want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.’” 28Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. 29When he drew near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mountain that is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples, 30saying, “Go your way into the village on the other side, in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, whereon no man ever yet sat. Untie it, and bring it. 31If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say to him: ‘The Lord needs it.’” 32Those who were sent went away, and found things just as he had told them. 33As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?” 34They said, “The Lord needs it.” 35They brought it to Jesus. They threw their cloaks on the colt, and set Jesus on them. 36As he went, they spread their cloaks on the road. 37As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen, 38saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!” 39Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” 40He answered them, “I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out.” 41When he drew near, he saw the city and wept over it, 42saying, “If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes. 43For the days will come on you, when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side, 44and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you didn’t know the time of your visitation.” 45He entered into the temple, and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it, 46saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of robbers’!” 47He was teaching daily in the temple, but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people sought to destroy him. 48They couldn’t find what they might do, for all the people hung on to every word that he said.

Gij wist, dat ik een straf mens ben, nemende weg, wat ik niet gelegd heb, en maaiende, wat ik niet gezaaid heb. 23Waarom hebt gij dan mijn geld niet in de bank gegeven, en ik, komende, had hetzelve met woeker mogen eisen? 24En hij zeide tot degenen, die bij hem stonden: Neemt dat pond van hem weg, en geeft het dien, die de tien ponden heeft. 25En zij zeiden tot hem: Heer, hij heeft tien ponden. 26Want ik zeg u, dat een iegelijk, die heeft, zal gegeven worden; maar van degene, die niet heeft, van dien zal genomen worden ook wat hij heeft. 27Doch deze mijn vijanden, die niet hebben gewild, dat ik over hen koning zoude zijn, brengt ze hier, en slaat ze hier voor mij dood. 28En dit gezegd hebbende, reisde Hij voor hen heen, en ging op naar Jeruzalem. 29En het geschiedde, als Hij nabij Beth-fage en Bethanie gekomen was, aan den berg, genaamd den Olijfberg, dat Hij twee van Zijn discipelen uitzond, 30Zeggende: Gaat henen in dat vlek, dat tegenover is; in hetwelk inkomende, zult gij een veulen gebonden vinden, waarop geen mens ooit heeft gezeten; ontbindt hetzelve, en brengt het. 31En indien iemand u vraagt: Waarom ontbindt gij dat, zo zult gij alzo tot hem zeggen: Omdat het de Heere van node heeft. 32En die uitgezonden waren, heengegaan zijnde, vonden het, gelijk Hij hun gezegd had. 33En als zij het veulen ontbonden, zeiden de heren van hetzelve tot hen: Waarom ontbindt gij het veulen? 34En zij zeiden: De Heere heeft het van node. 35En zij brachten hetzelve tot Jezus. En hun klederen op het veulen geworpen hebbende, zetten zij Jezus daarop. 36En als Hij voort reisde, spreidden zij hun klederen onder Hem op den weg. 37En als Hij nu genaakte aan den afgang des Olijfbergs, begon al de menigte der discipelen zich te verblijden, en God te loven met grote stemme, vanwege al de krachtige daden, die zij gezien hadden; 38Zeggende: Gezegend is de Koning, Die daar komt in den Naam des Heeren! Vrede zij in den hemel, en heerlijkheid in de hoogste plaatsen! 39En sommigen der Farizeen uit de schare zeiden tot Hem: Meester, bestraf Uw discipelen. 40En Hij, antwoordende, zeide tot hen: Ik zeg ulieden, dat, zo deze zwijgen, de stenen haast roepen zullen. 41En als Hij nabij kwam, en de stad zag, weende Hij over haar, 42Zeggende: Och, of gij ook bekendet, ook nog in dezen uw dag, hetgeen tot uw vrede dient! Maar nu is het verborgen voor uw ogen. 43Want er zullen dagen over u komen, dat uw vijanden een begraving rondom u zullen opwerpen, en zullen u omsingelen, en u van alle zijden benauwen; 44En zullen u tot den grond nederwerpen, en uw kinderen in u; en zij zullen in u den enen steen op den anderen steen niet laten; daarom dat gij den tijd uwer bezoeking niet bekend hebt. 45En gegaan zijnde in den tempel, begon Hij uit te drijven degenen, die daarin verkochten en kochten, 46Zeggende tot hen: Er is geschreven: Mijn huis is een huis des gebeds; maar gij hebt dat tot een kuil der moordenaren gemaakt. 47En Hij leerde dagelijks in den tempel; en de overpriesters, en de Schriftgeleerden, en de oversten des volks zochten Hem te doden. 48En zij vonden niet, wat zij doen zouden; want al het volk hing Hem aan, en hoorde Hem.
