Joel 3

1Porque eis que naqueles dias e naquele tempo eu restaurarei Judá e Jerusalém de seu infortúnio. 2Então ajuntarei todas as nações, e as farei descer ao vale de Josafá; e ali entrarei em juízo com elas por causa do meu povo, e de minha herança Israel, aos quais dispersaram entre as nações, e repartiram minha terra; 3E lançaram sortes sobre meu povo, e deram os rapazes em troca de prostitutas, e venderam as moças em troca de vinho para beberem. 4Além disso, o que tendes a ver comigo vós, Tiro e Sidom, e todas as regiões da Filístia? Quereis vos vingar de mim? E se quereis vos vingar de mim, apressadamente eu vos retribuirei o pagamento sobre vossa cabeça. 5Pois levastes minha prata e meu ouro, e minhas coisas valiosas e boas pusestes em vossos templos, 6E vendestes os filhos de Judá e os filhos de Jerusalém aos filhos dos gregos, para os distanciar de sua pátria. 7Eis que eu os levantarei do lugar para onde os vendestes, e retribuirei vosso pagamento sobre vossa cabeça. 8E venderei vossos filhos e vossas filhas na mão dos filhos de Judá, e eles os venderão aos sabeus, uma nação distante; porque o SENHOR falou. 9Proclamai isto entre as nações, convocai uma guerra; despertai aos guerreiros, acheguem-se, venham todos os homens de guerra. 10Fazei espadas de vossas enxadas, e lanças de vossas foices; diga o fraco: Sou forte. 11Ajuntai-vos e vinde, todas as nações ao redor, e reuni-vos. (Ó SENHOR, faze vir ali os teus fortes!) 12Levantem-se as nações, e subam ao vale de Josafá; porque ali eu me sentarei para julgar todas as nações ao redor. 13Lançai a foice, porque a colheita já está madura. Vinde, descei; porque o lagar está cheio, os tanques transbordam; porque a maldade deles é grande. 14Multidões! Multidões no vale da decisão! Porque perto está o dia do SENHOR no vale da decisão. 15O sol e a lua se escurecerão, e as estrelas recolherão seu brilho. 16E o SENHOR bramará desde Sião, e dará sua voz desde Jerusalém, e os céus e a terra tremerão; mas o SENHOR será o refúgio de seu povo, e a fortaleza dos filhos de Israel. 17Então sabereis que eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus, que habito em Sião, o meu santo monte; e Jerusalém será santa, e estrangeiros não mais passarão mais por ela. 18E será naquele tempo, que os montes destilarão suco de uva, e os morros fluirão leite, e por todos os ribeiros de Judá correrão águas; e sairá uma fonte da casa do SENHOR, que regará o vale de Sitim. 19O Egito será uma assolação, e Edom se tornará um deserto assolado, por causa da violência que fizeram aos filhos de Judá, em cuja terra derramaram sangue inocente. 20Mas Judá permanecerá para sempre, e Jerusalém de geração em geração. 21E purificarei o sangue que não tinha purificado; e o SENHOR habitará em Sião.

1“For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, 2I will gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will execute judgment on them there for my people, and for my heritage, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations. They have divided my land, 3and have cast lots for my people, and have given a boy for a prostitute, and sold a girl for wine, that they may drink. 4“Yes, and what are you to me, Tyre, and Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? Will you repay me? And if you repay me, I will swiftly and speedily return your repayment on your own head. 5Because you have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried my finest treasures into your temples, 6and have sold the children of Judah and the children of Jerusalem to the sons of the Greeks, that you may remove them far from their border. 7Behold, I will stir them up out of the place where you have sold them, and will return your repayment on your own head; 8and I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hands of the children of Judah, and they will sell them to the men of Sheba, to a faraway nation, for Yahweh has spoken it.” 9Proclaim this among the nations: “Prepare for war! Stir up the mighty men. Let all the warriors draw near. Let them come up. 10Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’ 11Hurry and come, all you surrounding nations, and gather yourselves together.” Cause your mighty ones to come down there, Yahweh. 12“Let the nations arouse themselves, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat; for there will I sit to judge all the surrounding nations. 13Put in the sickle; for the harvest is ripe. Come, tread, for the wine press is full, the vats overflow, for their wickedness is great.” 14Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of Yahweh is near, in the valley of decision. 15The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining. 16Yahweh will roar from Zion, and thunder from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth will shake; but Yahweh will be a refuge to his people, and a stronghold to the children of Israel. 17“So you will know that I am Yahweh, your God, dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain. Then Jerusalem will be holy, and no strangers will pass through her any more. 18It will happen in that day, that the mountains will drop down sweet wine, the hills will flow with milk, all the brooks of Judah will flow with waters, and a fountain will flow out from Yahweh’s house, and will water the valley of Shittim. 19Egypt will be a desolation, and Edom will be a desolate wilderness, for the violence done to the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land. 20But Judah will be inhabited forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. 21I will cleanse their blood, that I have not cleansed: for Yahweh dwells in Zion.”

1Want ziet, in die dagen en te dier tijd, als Ik de gevangenis van Juda en Jeruzalem zal wenden; 2Dan zal Ik alle heidenen vergaderen, en zal hen afvoeren in het dal van Josafat; en Ik zal met hen aldaar richten, vanwege Mijn volk en Mijn erfdeel Israel, dat zij onder de heidenen hebben verstrooid, en Mijn land gedeeld; 3En hebben het lot over Mijn volk geworpen en een knechtje gegeven om een hoer, en een meisje verkocht om wijn, dat zij mochten drinken. 4En ook, wat hebt gij met Mij te doen, gij Tyrus en Sidon, en alle grenzen van Palestina! Zoudt gij Mij een vergelding wedergeven? Maar zo gij Mij wilt vergelden, lichtelijk, haastelijk, zal Ik uw vergelding op uw hoofd wederbrengen. 5Omdat gij Mijn zilver en Mijn goud hebt weggenomen, en hebt Mijn beste kleinodien in uw tempels gebracht. 6En gij hebt de kinderen van Juda en de kinderen van Jeruzalem verkocht aan de kinderen der Grieken, opdat gij hen verre van hun landpale, mocht brengen. 7Ziet, Ik zal ze opwekken uit de plaats, waarhenen gij ze hebt verkocht; en Ik zal uw vergelding wederbrengen op uw hoofd. 8En Ik zal uw zonen en uw dochteren verkopen in de hand der kinderen van Juda, die ze verkopen zullen aan die van Scheba, aan een vergelegen volk; want de HEERE heeft het gesproken. 9Roept dit uit onder de heidenen, heiligt een krijg; wekt de helden op, laat naderen, laat optrekken alle krijgslieden. 10Slaat uw spaden tot zwaarden, en uw sikkelen tot spiesen; de zwakke zegge: Ik ben een held. 11Rot te hoop, en komt aan, alle gij volken van rondom, en vergadert u! (O HEERE, doe Uw helden derwaarts nederdalen!) 12De heidenen zullen zich opmaken, en optrekken naar het dal van Josafat; maar aldaar zal Ik zitten, om te richten alle heidenen van rondom. 13Slaat de sikkel aan, want de oogst is rijp geworden; komt aan, daalt henen af, want de pers is vol, en de perskuipen lopen over; want hunlieder boosheid is groot. 14Menigten, menigten in het dal des dorswagens; want de dag des HEEREN is nabij, in het dal des dorswagens. 15De zon en maan zijn zwart geworden, en de sterren hebben haar glans ingetrokken. 16En de HEERE zal uit Sion brullen, en uit Jeruzalem Zijn stem geven, dat hemel en aarde beven zullen; maar de HEERE zal de Toevlucht Zijns volks, en de Sterkte der kinderen Israels zijn. 17En gijlieden zult weten, dat Ik de HEERE, uw God ben, wonende op Sion, den berg Mijner heiligheid; en Jeruzalem zal een heiligheid zijn, en vreemden zullen niet meer door haar doorgaan. 18En het zal te dien dage geschieden dat de bergen van zoeten wijn zullen druipen, en de heuvelen van melk vlieten, en alle stromen van Juda vol van water gaan; en er zal een fontein uit het huis des HEEREN uitgaan, en zal het dal van Sittim bewateren. 19Egypte zal tot verwoesting worden, en Edom zal worden tot een woeste wildernis, om het geweld, gedaan aan de kinderen van Juda, in welker land zij onschuldig bloed vergoten hebben. 20Maar Juda zal blijven in eeuwigheid, en Jeruzalem van geslacht tot geslacht. 21En Ik zal hunlieder bloed reinigen, dat Ik niet gereinigd had; en de HEERE zal wonen op Sion.
